68  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is bitcoin media outlets such scumbags? on: June 29, 2015, 03:56:00 AM
Everyone be careful, a friend who didn't want to be named, started a bitcoin company a month ago. When the guy went to outlets to get news articles written about the service, he was turned away saying that they had no interest. Last week a service doing exactly what he is doing to the T, I know can use I used the service before jumping to conclusions, was written about in 5 different places all of them which turned my friend away. When asked them why they went with this service and not his, one stupid stupid author answered and said he was willing to give him BTC about 3 of them. So the author accepted... this is a known issue in the bitcoin community and I wish it stop.

It is disgusting, I am not naming names but seriously bitcoin media are scum of the earth and lets stop supporting this people.

Remember in the 1900's JP Morgan controlled the media to pump and dump, don't let these people be the same way.

Could you tell us the type of service or what he is doing if names are not ok?

Hi Guys,
Pretty new to this forum but I like it already.
Since I've notice that there's a lot of knowledge within the members I would like to ask you for an opinion on what online backup solution you'd recommend for me. I would like to have a backup apart from the one I have in my house so in case a break in or a fire there would be a way to retrieve them.

I think I would need 2-4 TB of room since my wife's pics or on there as well. Do I have to say that it needs to be very secure and and to heavy on my wallet Smiley

AJ

I think facebook is not bad you can try it

Or have you heard...Google can help you search for things and you can order stuff from Amazon. Sorry i had to.

Not sure why this is offensive...but a good meal with dad and family seems like a good day to me.

Sometimes if you report a connection failure (unplug your modem) call in and say you cannot connect they may switch you to another dhcp scope on a different router...maybe. i have had this happen when things got messy with their DNS not updating one time on one of their edge routers.

Oh and forgot to mention that FreeNas and openfiler with btsync (the bittorrent cloud like syncing app) are cool tools as well. I ending up just going fedora like option for my nas but freenas and btsync work well together. https://www.getsync.com/
73  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows 7 64bit, where can one... on: June 18, 2015, 03:19:47 PM
I HAD maybe 10 legit upgrade copies that we purchased for work but ended up not using. i have sense given them away, but they are kind of hard to find. Not change the subject too much, but Windows 8.1 or 10 work?

This may help... maybe.

Office 365 Personal give you 1TB per user so if you need Office as well that might work 6.99 per month. https://products.office.com/en-us/compare-microsoft-office-products

I have tons of raw pics and vids of the kids and use google+ and local storage solutions for back up. I couple 4TB seems the most economical way to go.

http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/cinebench-15-download.html

This tool is a good benchmarking tool. It will hit all your cores. I know its not inline with what you are asking but hey it will tell you.

Good tool for info about your system.

i have 24 cores and very few apps can take advantage. you have to let the chipset work its magic or in this case not work its magic.
79  Other / Off-topic / Re: My ISP talktalk blocked torrent sites in UK, how to get around? on: June 14, 2015, 03:07:08 AM
VPN buddy. I am not sure if there are some free VPN's that offer p2p traffic, but you should google some of them.
I am currently using cyberghost premium, and speeds are looking good, with unlocked torrent traffic. If you are looking also for no logs service, then check out nVPN.net instead.
Prices are very low, considering what they offer imho.

cheers

A VPN will have the added benefit of hiding your IP address from the torrent network; I wouldn't download copyright material without one personally.

I use https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ who accept bitcoin and support this forum. They cost ~£30 a year.

PIA works well. I have used it for a while.

Tor can be picky with torrents.

try fasting!  worked for me!

Fasting does not sound like the best method to me. Your body...well your brain needs food and water and that is where your hormones are generally controlling your mode. Yes, i know there are a lot more things that affect a persons mode but hormones that spike a lot may lead to unwanted behavior. The uninfluenced brain wants to survive and reproduce to spread its genes. Our frontal lobe tells us otherwise at times.
