1941  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: So ... What pools are NOT having problems right now? on: July 07, 2011, 03:34:51 PM
my backup pool mine.co still works like a charm (has more ghashes now than usual...but a few more stales too - at least for me)

nice contact... no fees.. even pays out transaction fees found in the block
1942  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2700 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more on: July 07, 2011, 01:45:16 PM
good work!
just waiting for your pool to come up again Wink

still hoping you let me mine on port 80 and delay some stats though .... but that has time until you get rid of those ddos'lers....
1943  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2700 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more on: July 07, 2011, 11:27:21 AM
stats delay is a good thing!

it's the only way how prop-pools can fight pool-hoppers.
and with pool-hoppers on a pool YOU are loosing coins.

as its automated and there are scripts in this forum available i think that many do this.. (mineco.in for example looses 5-20ghash whenever a round ends - which maybe are pool hoppers)

-- edit: changed my mind. don't know if pool hoppers are bad at all. just imagine they are just using one pool for itself. would your earnings be higher or lower? i think they are the same
1944  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2700 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more on: July 07, 2011, 07:26:53 AM
my backup pool is mineco.in

less stales, and they even give you the gained transaction fee...

since yesterday it went from 50GHash to 150GHash....
1945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / move addresses to new wallet on: July 05, 2011, 10:38:22 PM
hello,

i accidentently used a program "OptDiabloMinerII" which is considered as fraud.

i already made a secure new wallet and moved all coins. but i am not sure if i will receive any payments on my old wallet.

is it possible to "move" the adresses to my new wallet - AND to make sure the private key in my old wallet can not be used to do any harm?

its not a big problem, as all my coins are safe, i would just feel better.
1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Address Always Changing... on: July 05, 2011, 05:43:02 PM
yes,
if you open your adress book you'll see all of your sending and recipient adresses.

you will get all money sent to old adresses. its one of the anonymity functions of bitcoin.

inside of your adressbook you can always choose your current adress
1947  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Tradehill matching Mt. Gox commission now on: July 04, 2011, 06:52:45 PM
ok sorry,

maybe i just read just to many "tradehill's superior" posts the last days, and your sig give me the rest...

but: there is no reason for your post in "mining"...(or bitcoin discussion ...)
1948  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Tradehill matching Mt. Gox commission now on: July 04, 2011, 06:10:26 PM
i don't care

i just prefer Bitcoin7... MUCH more ways to pay in and out...

(and no: i don't get money from them, i just can't read any more tradehill is fantastic thread...they bore me)
1949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corrupted wallet with 5.8 BTC in it on: July 04, 2011, 05:53:41 PM
try a hex editor (and get help from this thread)

http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=8274.0

i'll do the same with my wallet right now.. maybe it helps to extract the key

(be careful anout running sw on your machine or sending the wallet to someone else.. just read the previos' post thread and i am little confused why he requires sudo...MAYBE there is a good reason for this... just be careful)

EDIT: Source seems legit.. just fire up a linux vm, get code from this adress: http://www.makomk.com/gitweb/?p=bitcoin-wallet-recover.git;a=blob;f=main.c;h=07655ee164be59b0847c1248ef2e760e16a4ab66;hb=61093cdbb145d173da03a5670b9fcbdeec5ff82f and compile)

^^ if it works...donate him please Wink
1950  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New scalable pipelined FPGA core for SHA-256 - any interest? on: July 03, 2011, 08:43:04 PM
i am very interested in this (not only btc, just wanto to dive into fpga-development)

can you advice any pci-e fpga card (max 1000$) to start with?

mining should work... so it can mine while i am at work...
1951  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~3000 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more on: July 03, 2011, 04:09:16 PM
mining works fine for me...(de+de2)

just four "connections errors" half an hour ago..

thats not that much.

i dont care much about the website
1952  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~3000 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more on: July 03, 2011, 02:34:08 PM
de.btcguild.com is still up
but please: dont switch all there...

website is down for me too

EDIT: 5 secs later website is there, but miner can't connect.. grml
EDIT2: for me all is working fine now.. was just a few second hick up.

btcguild is still my favorite.

but please: offer support for miners at port 80!!!!

you could archieve that easily with:
iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 8332 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A PREROUTING -t nat -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 8332

and do some pool-hopping prevention....e.g. just delay stats a little
1953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Metal Engraved Keypair Cards! Coming soon! on: July 03, 2011, 09:10:25 AM
forprivate key security you could use am small chip on the card which needs some kind of pin (with self destruction Wink.

so we have to possibility to name you a few recipient adresses and write our wallet+pin to the card ourselves.

(ok in the wild we would need some kind of terminal to do the actual payment)

i love your idea Wink
1954  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~3000 GH/sec] BTC Guild - 0% Fees, Long polling, SSL, JSON API, and more on: July 03, 2011, 01:48:42 AM
it would be nice if you make it possible to connect miners to port 80 too (maybe [srv].btcguild.com only)

atm i have to use putty to ssh me out which is prettyugly Wink

and i would like to see some pool hopping prevention (today it seems that you delay round times, but misses to delay shares this round; but after reading this thread i am not really sure)

btcguild is my favorite (donating 2.5% Wink
1955  Economy / Goods / Re: new real tangible physical bitcoin coin on: July 02, 2011, 09:37:07 PM
imagine your site is like instawallet.

the code on the coin could be used as an "view-only" mode for checking balance.
i am note sure about how to secure transactions (eg who "owns" the coin; handing one coin to somebody else without internet)...

and PLEASE offer shipping to europe soon. i want some!

if possible i would like to see "real" gold coins. maybe work together with them: http://midasbitcoin.blogspot.com/ (not sure if they are trustworthy, but i think i'll try)

very nice work!
1956  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin7.com : Transfered amount in EUR but shows up as BGN on: June 28, 2011, 06:22:27 PM
never had this problem.
just today i added 100€....

but maybe its better to speak directly to them?

1957  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it OK to join a pyramid scheme if you're in early? on: June 28, 2011, 06:19:29 PM
in germany its prohibited to build a pyramid scheme. but you can join if you want...only the founder would have many problems.

i dont think its a good idea to do it either - its way to easy to cheat for the operator.
you cannot know if you are really in early - or if he just calculates the income and make his offer before.

^^ ok that can be proven through blockexplorer, but i still don't think it's a good idea.

just try btc poker or flip for bits instead. they are great...

(donations are welcome as i am poor: 13TXKpqoBedCbSooGvvJrD2D1M1xjf7Npq )
1958  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is MtGox hijacking money from SEPA transfers? on: June 28, 2011, 06:07:25 PM
i am just using bitcoin7.

its perfect for europeans...as they support sofortuerberweisung.de or normal bank wires...

just added 100€ today.

i love the feature to trade eur->btc-> usd

(no i dont get money from them, but if you like to donat me: 13TXKpqoBedCbSooGvvJrD2D1M1xjf7Npq)
1959  Other / Beginners & Help / anti cheat pool share calculations (not score, like prop) on: June 28, 2011, 06:03:40 PM
anti cheat pool share calculations (not score, like prop)

hi,

i came up with an idea how to implement a proportional pool - but cheat proof.
another "problem" which i want to adress is in very short rounds (maybe 3 seconds on large pools) it's only luck how much btc you'll get.

but what about an proportional pool which pays daily?

dayshares = miner shares from 00:00 to 23:59
daytotalshares = shares from all miners from 00:00 to 23:59
dayfoundblocks = found blocks from 00:00 to 23:59

miner gets (dayblockfound * (50+fees?)) * (dayshares / daytotalshares)

what do you think?

i like the idea of having an proportional pool (as i dont like score or pps) but i am afraid auf minepool and some other guys in the forums which are trying to built an "cheat-only" pool.

with this solution we can still have an proportional system.. only the pay-rate is lowered.
(small pools like mineco.in or eclipse should use longer dates; i suggest min. 20*round duration)

please tip me 13TXKpqoBedCbSooGvvJrD2D1M1xjf7Npq cause i am poor
