1242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I accept Bitcoin payments from Europe? on: March 25, 2013, 12:04:36 PM
if you just want to accept bitcoin payments (and want to keep them in btc) there is nothing needed as bitcoin is a worldwide money transmitter Wink
1243  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoinica liquidator wants to hear from users on: March 25, 2013, 08:07:14 AM
Hello @all,

as far as i know the bitcoinica funds held by MtGox are from an US user (a delaware company).
i have a few questions about that:

 - will the bitcoinica funds (btc and usd?) moved to coinbase?
 - what are coinbase' plans with this money?
 - will they give the funds to our liquidator?
 - what about the law suite in america? will we see any funds from that - or will all of the funds just go to suitors?
 - who pays all the lawyers? (i am willing to pay my liquidator, but not an anonymous lawyer in US - as i really have NOTHING to do with them)
 - if the funds will stay at mtgox (or partly stay there): what are mtgox plans?

i would love to see some statements from Taslim, Roger Ver, Coinbase and MtGox.

regards
1244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Check the balance of any address in real time on: March 23, 2013, 08:47:00 AM
I would like to include my address in my sig, with the contents of the address right beneath it. But I guess you would need to change how the sig works to have it update the status.

I would like a transparent wallet under my sig, because it helps advertising some values I like (openness, rationality, trust).

I am going to implement it as soon as possible. Wink

I will save you some time, it can't be done, theymos blocks images, and you can't use iframes, or javascript. I tried to do something similar for my address shortener and I learned quickly no way to do it.

you could write a script which frequently updates your sig

Ppl take this joker seriously?

Wow....

This is so related to bitcoin to be here huh?

he has much less ignores than you Wink

Can you help me pick a keyboard? not sure what to get, maybe i will make a thread here.

I dont come to this section to see crap like this. Ignores? pls

let me rephrase: a thread about a new laptop is a bit more interesting than reading a post from a guy complaining about it.

but neverthless: you're right in saying that it does not belong here... he should add something like "i will run a miner for 5 minutes on it" if you feel better that way. but as the title says all about this thread: why did you even open it?

Because.... its Goat.... OMG. The wannabe scammer that failed miserably.

Cheesy i still like him...
but just for reading...

1250  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoins are not "legal" in the US - understanding FinCEN's announcement on: March 22, 2013, 01:47:31 PM
please change the title of this post. It's missleading and wrong

How so?

"Bitcoins are not "legal" in the US"

Bitcoins are perfectly legal in the US, as a matter of fact, the FinCEN statement does not say anything about decentralized currencies being illegal, all it says is that money transmitters should register their activities with them.

Bitcoins are perfectly legal in the US and all over the world. <--- this is a fact as of today.

i think "legal" in this context mean: does the us gov puts regulation on it. NOT if its illegal (or the opposit).
please natives: correct me Wink
1251  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: All my widgets DEAD!!! on: March 22, 2013, 01:41:08 PM
you just need to change the url from mtgox.com to data.mtgox.com
even a pool-op should be able to do this Cheesy

This is not for a pool it's for application running on iOS, Windows and Mac.  I know you linux dev types just say change the source and recompile, but... really?

Bottom line I am SOL unless I get the source, change it and recompile.

ok i misunderstood you.. you said *my* widgets and i thought they are actually yours...

so you are left with: contact devs
it should be possible to use a transparent proxy with an vpn tough - but its very ugly (but it could redirect some requests to mtgox.com to data.mtgox.com)
1252  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: All my widgets DEAD!!! on: March 22, 2013, 01:30:00 PM
So in short, update to use their changed API structure.
It's all there, just moved about abit.

Not very helpful for fixing my widgets.

I don't know the programers and can't just call them up to make a quick change for me.

you just need to change the url from mtgox.com to data.mtgox.com

1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin speculation laptop? Mac book pro vs ASUS Zen book (Halp!) on: March 22, 2013, 12:27:11 PM
just got the asus zenbook last week and i love it Wink
1254  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox: Please fix classic.mtgox.com on: March 22, 2013, 10:19:57 AM
Didn't even know classic.mtgox.com existed.. oh the nostalgia..

Wink would be interesting to see some stats about how many use the old system vs the new one
1255  Economy / Service Discussion / MtGox: Please fix classic.mtgox.com on: March 22, 2013, 10:12:32 AM
i guess you missed that you have changed the price api to data.mtgox.com
the login and trading page do not show the current price anymore.

as i really hate your new design, please let me use your old one...

thanks
1256  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to send BitCoins with LOW TX FEE (Not No TX Fee) on: March 22, 2013, 07:52:32 AM

1257  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: March 22, 2013, 07:18:01 AM
but why do you put 10% fee on your lenders? they have nothing to do with mtgox...
to push IR down

LOL
you mean: push IR down for lenders but not for lendees Wink
1258  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: March 22, 2013, 07:04:08 AM
Announcement:

We made a temporary change in the fee policy:
https://community.bitfinex.com/content.php/16-Temporary-change-in-fees-policy

In short, we have increased the Mtgox fees to average the requotes we get from them since their change into their API system. We are currently working on reestablishing the last fees schedule as fast as possible.

And the other hand, orders routed to Bitfinex have 0% fees.

Best regards
The Bitfinex team

i think 0.5% trading fees are ok.
but why do you put 10% fee on your lenders? they have nothing to do with mtgox...

10% is insane! (ok current 200% USD APY is insane too)
1259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is satoshi hiding ? scam? or really future money... on: March 21, 2013, 03:27:12 PM
greyhawk , answer the questions on top.
You can only defend with these poor answers?
These are not the answers , answering my questions?
Another thing is to your question , maybe you rob people and thief.

Like a fake name hah?

Bitcoin is not "decentralized" proof me if "it is".
Its controlled by some unknown group of people behind it.
not a company not a government.

maybe controlled by a terrorist group?

Careful, talk like that might trigger a market crash

that would require that many people believes him Wink
1260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is satoshi hiding ? scam? or really future money... on: March 21, 2013, 02:42:08 PM
in my opinion you have two valid points.

my answer is:
the devs need to write a good and working protocol specs - this will take a long time tough.
as soon as we have many different bitcoin-clients bitcoin.org is just one domain-name and is no longer important.

why do you have a problem with satoshi hiding himself? i do like that he is not here anymore. if he would be here and tell his opinion (about e.g. transaction fees) many would just blindly follow him, which would mean more centralization.

and i do think gavin does a great job.
