201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find new promissing projects? Here is how i do it. on: March 11, 2018, 03:09:58 AM
A lot of new projects are created every week. Some of them are scam, some are jusr averge and some are good enough to make you some profit. The most used source for finding crypto is coinmarketcap. When a new crypto is added there it becomes trully public, gets on new exchanges and expirience price moves. I always wanted to find a good way to profit from it. For that you need agood way to analyze newcomers fast (or you will just waste your time).

I've come with my own plan and shared it here: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cryptohumster/treasure-hunting-or-how-to-fast-check-coinmarketcap-newcomers

There is still a plenty of space to improve it. I look forward to any comments and suggestions.

These steps are not a financial advice of any kind and is added for purpose of discuassion and entertainment.

So here is a short step by step process that I do:

1. Go to coinmarketcap and check newcomers. Select a newcomer and check the following:
- Volume and price chart. Coin can have several hours of history that can’t be actually used for any tech analyses, but we still can see if people are interested (high
volume) and if early holders are dumping it.
- Markets. Check if it is added to your favorite exchanges. In most cases there is no pint to create account on a new exchange to get a coin. Exchanges can also say a lot about project potential. If the first exchange is Binance or at least Kucoin, the projects deserves some attention.
- Social. Get a link to official twitter account. Don’t try to search it manually, you can easily get to a scam page. If no official twitter, it is better to stay away from the coin.

2. Go to twitter. We want to see an active account that has: thousands of followers, activity (should post often), twits are often liked and reposted, account is communicating with followers (ask questions, do promotions i.e. involves people).

3. Go to the official site (twitter always has the link). We need to get a short description of the project to understand:
- What is the problem that project solves
- How it is solved
- Team
- Roadmap and future plans
Don’t try to dig too deep, just go over to get the first impression.

4. Go to telegram group. Here we want to see the number of members (10 – 50k is good) and an active discussions (hundreds of people asking how to dump it on exchange is on obvious red flag).

5. If you don’t like the project at this stage, then stop wasting time on it. If it seems good, then the next stop is ICO sites like icobench. Just check rating here. You want to see it as high as possible. You also want to see initial price, how successful was the ICO (if hard cap was reached), bonus and bounty program.

6. Go to bitcointalk. Check if the project has at least several pages of discussion. Check if comments are positive. Search for airdrops and bounties. You need to understand how many tokens were given for free.

Why studying bonuses and bounty is crucial for your success? Bounty gives free tokens. When people get them, they dump them and the price goes down. Bonus does the same effect. If people were able to buy it with 100% discount at presale you will see immediate dump even if it is listed at ICO price. Early investors will fix their profits and dump at least a part of their holding to return investments. You don’t want to buy it and see the price going down, but you want to buy it dirt cheap from dumpers.

So how to profit:
You need to keep in mind that any ICO has bounties and bonuses. It is not a red flag for you, but you should act wisely taking it into account. If after your investigation you want to buy it, it can be a good idea to set an order to -30% / -50%/ -100% or even buy in several orders on different price. If you would catch the coin low, you can then sell it in parts in the same manner when it gives you 30% / 50% /100% profit or hold it expecting greater gains.

Please share you expirience and help me to improve this.

Thanks for you sharing and I think I can make more good investment. I only read the white paper and research the history of the team members.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you actually understand Ethereum? on: March 11, 2018, 03:03:11 AM
If you dont understand Ethereum, check out my free article Ethereum 101

Most people really dont understand Ethereum, which is going to be damaging to the market. I have heard friends and have seen posts even on here with people who are investing that dont even understand smart contracts, proof of stake etc

Did you know their are 2 Casper's?

When you invest in a coin, how much time do you spend researching it? I normally spend at least 3 hours learning everything I can from it before I attempt to make an investment of even $1. It is important to understand the coin from a general level, and if you can understand it from a technical level that is even better.
I think it is hard for me to do that. I only spend severl hours to make the research but I will make a change in the near future.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in altcoin still worth? on: March 11, 2018, 03:00:25 AM
Look like the Btc is unstoppable, have sense invest in altcoin in this 2 month? Anyway wich alcoin can have a better growth (exept fork) then Bitcoin?
I think now is the right time to invest in the coins but I don't think there is any coin that  will be better than btc in the short time.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 10 Altcoin to invest on: March 10, 2018, 11:29:56 AM
Top 10 altcoin to invest in 2018?

I think it will be btc and eth. As for others, I don't know which they are and I will not buy more others.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What am I to do? on: March 10, 2018, 11:25:29 AM
Now all the markets are crashing down and I don't know what to do with my altcoins. My briefcase fell 30% in a couple of days. I'm afraid I might lose more. Selling or hodl?
I think it may be good to hold if the coins are good enough but if the team members are not good enough the price will be lower. So it depends.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl or do I realize the loss? on: March 10, 2018, 11:15:08 AM
Hello to all,

I invested in Crypterium ICO a lot of money, from business plan I was going to keep CRPT Token until Q3 2018. We are still in Q1 is true, but mathematically, according to my calculations, CRPT token can not reach the result I was hoping for. I made about 90% loss from the amount invested. What do I do? Do I continue to Hodl or do I realize this huge loss? To get back on track I need at least 2/3 full points and I do not think the token can do it.

Did you invest in CRPT? Do you think you can do it?
I do not invest in it but I think it will be there and it will not be that high again.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin on the way out? on: March 07, 2018, 02:38:27 AM

According to research firm Blockchain.info, transactions plunged from seven-day average of almost 400,000 in mid-December to about 200,000 this week.
Earlier this year, when bitcoin price fell by more than 60 percent from its recent peak, a lesser noticed bitcoin also plummeted:  the number of daily transactions.

Even when Bitcoin price had a 50 percent return since Feb.5, the number of daily transactions has not recovered. This left investors wondering if the cryptocurrencies is declining in popularity.
Since it peaked in December, the average number of daily exchanges has decreased by half and touched its low in two year last month, even when bitcoin recovered to
$10,000.
Transactions data may be bad news for Bitcoin Bulls, according to Charles Morris - chief investment officer at Newscape Capital Group, London and also a cryptocurrencies investor.
“We had a hype cycle and now it’s getting cold”, Morris said. “It is possible that we are entering a bear market”.
However, with the above information, we can still expect a growth in others altcoin.

VCXCoinTeam

I don't agree. It will be herelong enough for the market to be mature enough.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you think younger generation is more open to technology? on: March 06, 2018, 09:52:53 AM
Does technology favor the young! Do you think we need younger lawmakers to translate the language of cryptocurrency.
I think so.They are brave enough but I have to admit they may not have enough experience so we need to take more steps.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your strategy in trading on: March 06, 2018, 09:49:58 AM
What is your strategy in trading? When you buy any alt coin how long do you hold and on what percentage you sell it?
I think it depends. Foer example, I have hold btc for several years but as for others I will sell them when the price is reasonable. So it is hard to say how long I will hold them.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: possibilities for crypto on: March 06, 2018, 09:47:57 AM
I  think it will not be allowed by the government at least most of the country.  But it will find out its own way to make the market better than before and we can make a lot of money.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What project is scam? on: March 06, 2018, 09:45:28 AM
You can't always be sure if a project scam or not. But I decided to make a list of steps every newbie should cross before investing a project  Shocked

Step 1 - you need to visit a website. You need to make sure there is white paper, team, advisors and links to social networks (a project without this information can't be trusted);

Step 2 - you need to read a white paper carefully. Pay your attention to the idea, concept and realization;

Step 3 - check out all social networks and blogs. If the project is alive there should be regular updates;

Step 4 - you need to contact the team. The feedback is very important thing. If the team doesn't answer you it is a bad sign;

Step 5 - join this project community (telegram chat or btctalk tread). There should be 24/7 communication;

Step 6 - google information about the project. Read articles about the project, try to find team interview and events they recently visited. It is good if a company exists for a couple of years, has its history and generates revenue;

Step 7 - read information about advisors. If advisors have a good reputation and they have their successful projects.

Here are good developed communities examples:

https://t.me/kickcity_chat
https://t.me/matchpool

If you have you ideas please share. Let's make crypto community safe together!  Wink

Thanks for your sharing and I think I will benefit from it.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: March 06, 2018, 09:42:23 AM
Evryone known what xrp in the last year ( something like 30000% ). The ripple project is workin' like future bank. In Your opinion is possibile for Ripple become the new global currency for the world?
I don't think it has the ability to do that.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Whats your 3 month/6 month forecast for Altcoins/Cryptos on: March 06, 2018, 03:37:13 AM
I have been investing in cryptos since 2016 and did well.  Since January 2nd 2018 my account is down 70% after taking some nice profits.  Does anyone believe the crypto market will ever be what is was in say October of 2017? Will we see the market running like it did ever again?  What your 3 month- 6-month prediction?

I think it will be high again in the future. mMay be in 6 months.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: encourage others to crypto on: March 06, 2018, 03:33:08 AM
Will you encourage others to invest in crypto and explain to them that this is not a scam or a pyramiding activity?
I will ecourage my friends in because I have mad ea lot of money from it so i WILL tell them in.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is the best way to invest? on: March 06, 2018, 03:29:44 AM
Do you think ICO is the best way to invest in?
I don't thhink so because it is too risky. We need try our best to avoid the high risk to make more money.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How interested are people in cryptocurrency in your country? on: March 06, 2018, 03:28:14 AM
Cryptocurrency is young, yet very dynamic decentralized platform that attracts a lot of potential investors.
In Kazakhstan, a study notes that there is a 15-fold increase in interest in cryptocurrency.
How about in other countries, have you noticed increase in the number of people getting interested in this digital space?

https://news.bitcoin.com/interest-cryptocurrency-kazakhstan/
I don't think so but the situation will be better in the near future. We can find mre and more people are interested in it so more people will be in.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will other coins beat bitcoin in the future? on: March 06, 2018, 03:25:32 AM
So guys, what do you think about investing in different icos? I think it's a good idea. We never know which will take the lead in the future. Please help me and give me good suggestions!
I think it may be possible for us to reach that but the time wil be long for us to wait.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you screen ICO projects, what do you look at? on: March 05, 2018, 03:13:37 AM

Many of you are asking this question. Many of you spend hours researching new ICO projects, reading forums trying to find the proper information, get the knowledge and make the right move. I am sure you  are already aware that it is not the most efficient way. It takes time and all of us have to do the same ground work over and over again separately.

Of course there are rating websites, which tell us what the best ICOs should be but after reviewing 120 projects myself I had very different views on most of the ICO rated as the best ones.

Of course you can discuss with others on the forum but almost no one there does exhaustive and systematic research on ICOs, so lot of info but may not be relevant or very much biased by one’s opinion.

ICO investors need to protect themselves and unfortunately, ICOs are still largely unregulated so we cannot expect that somebody else will search for and punish “bad apples”.
So we decided crypto community needs a proper Due Diligence project based on the knowledge of you all. We would like to build it from the ground up and we are open to any comments, suggestions and ideas. However first we need to know, how you guys actually screen ICO projects, what you look at and what you maybe neglect. So that we can focus our attention on those things. If you fill in this survey you will help us understand exactly that. We are doing this for the community, to create better, accurate and independent ICO reviews.

https://tilburglawschool.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3sCWmLd0wY1OK3P

Let’s discuss first how you screen ICO projects and what exactly you look at!

I think it is the white paper and team members that we need to pay our attention.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where do you find your news? on: March 05, 2018, 03:10:55 AM
What websites (besides this forum) or other sources do you use to get news about your coins?
I read on bitcointalk but have the feeling that I miss a lot of interesting news about the coins I own (currently BTC, OMG, ADX, SUB, KMD, ARK, BLOCK, ETH) and would like to stay more 'in the news'.

Thanks in advance for your reply!
I am in some community and I will read the new of the twitter and other main internet media to find the news that I need.
