btw, has China allowed Bitcoin to be able to ban it again?

I think yes they have banned it once again this September. I'm pretty sure that such ban was imposed only to promote the CBDC that they're going to release. We don't really care much about China's bans on Bitcoin and crypto-currencies these days because it is a common thing for them.

China be like

Remember GUYS Buy Low Sell high

Whoa, Whoa, WO!!!

WHAT TF is this "Sell high" bullshit all about???
I'm just not understanding the concept you are conveying... You actually think there will be something worth trading for BTC when it's "high"? How "High" are you???

……

Your 1950s wheelchair can't fly as high as my 1918 pogo stick.

Harrrumph. Kids nowadays.

Well ok but was your pogo stick gas powered?

https://youtu.be/Lutv8c2Kd6Y?si=nOlUqvBmqETuoVEg

I remember begging my folks for a pogo stick for Xmas as a 12 year old kid.
Finally got one. It took me about a week of frustration to get beyond
that 1st bounce. I finally sussed it though. That made my day.
I still have one hanging on the wall in the garage, (not gas powered)
and go for a bounce up the driveway once in awhile, just for a shiggle.
The neighbors must think I’m crazy. (I am actually)

OK Bro, yea.... crazy... sooooo.... fuck'm!
At .|.This.|.Point.|. In.|.Lifes....|...You!.|.Deserve.|.Gas.|.Powered.|.POGO!!!

You gonna argue with Realzzzz?

I vote @ spot price $120k (BTC>$$$) "Sir AsMuff" absolutely must have power assisted pogo with video clipz to share. Otherwise, WTF are we even doing here???
I mean...really?

What color did you end up with? Green? Red? or Orange? (Hopefully not Blue...)

Green Smiley

Fine Choice! I've got an old Deere from 1988 and can still get parts for it! That engine's life is measured in years rather than hours now! Gettyup!

Well... fuck this market action. Glad I sold a bit when I did. Heading out to the ranch shortly to pick up the tractor and attachments.

...then, I think I'll mow about 100 acres to break in the tractor...

Have a great week, you wonderful fruitcakes.

You probably already know this, but you'll want to do about 10 hours on that new motor and then do a full oil change. New motors tend to have small burrs and rough edges internally that wear smooth but leave metal shavings in the oil. By running it for a while and then changing the oil & filter, you remove that destructive debris so that you can enjoy a full life of smooth power.

What color did you end up with? Green? Red? or Orange? (Hopefully not Blue...)

But then it is a pretty decent Dave Ramsey meme... so carry on, whatev's.

Dave Ramsey?  Is that Gordon’s brother?  Wink

Yup, you're right. Dave Ramsey is the annoying talk radio finance guy. I suck at remembering names!

Hello WOrld.
Pleased to announce the resumption of my WCA, weed cost averaging, wherein one matches weed buys with corn buys.  Seems like a bargain right now.  In my opinion, the more than likely outcome is that a spot BTC ETF will be approved, which opens up an onramp of demand into the ecosystem.  I suppose the counterpoint is that, 'they' have already bought enough supply to dump on all of our heads, after the new demand comes pouring in?  Who had the weak hands?

But my main point, besides buddy blocking, is asking how or if, a selling ladder and DCA coexist.  Perhaps the obvious answer is to continually update one's ladder?

And one more thing, how does not your keys not your coins coexist with not your digital numbers on a screen not your dollars, when keeping dollars on an exchange ready to buy the dip?

Be gone, shit poster!

Easy there Bro...
Can't chase away all the Newbies or all of us old facts will die off and the WO dies with us.
There was no CopyPasta there and no links to XTweeterShite. In fact he mentions an interesting DCA method (WCA).
I had an Uncle many years ago that was born in a dirt floor shack filled with 11 kids and died quite wealthy in his eighties. He was one of the brave fools that stormed the beaches in WWII. He once said the secret to his savings was to always save as much as he wasted. If he wanted a can of Coca-Cola, he'd only buy it if he could afford 2. He'd buy his Coke and put the Nickle for the second Coke in his other pocket to be added to his savings when he got home that night. His estate distributed a four bedroom house in the city on the edge of an exclusive golf course, 120 Acres of farm land with 60 head of cattle and crops waiting for harvest, a vacation house on the beach, and a secluded cabin in the mountains next to a trout stream. Not bad for a kid who got his first pair of hand-me-down shoes at age 6 so that he could walk to the local 1 room schoolhouse.

If you can afford weed, you can afford corns... seems sensible.
And the personal stress of worrying about how much fiat you trust to an exchange while waiting for a ladder buy to close... not looking much like a shitpost to me.

But then it is a pretty decent Dave Ramsey meme... so carry on, whatev's.

I'm not worried. Not at all. I'm just a little bored if I'm honest, and echo LFC's sentiment. That's really what my original post was about.

tl;dr: Just be patient and HoDL/DCA for 1-2 more years.

I don’t think 4 year cycles will be a thing forever.
<Snip>The 2028 halving will see the block reward at 1.5625BTC and I would expect maybe that to be the final 4 year cycle. From the 2032 halving the block reward drops below 1BTC so maybe bitcoin will behave like a more mature asset from then, less volatility and a more stable price. Until then though we will be seeing lots of uppity as our friend JJG would say.

Quick prediction time -

2025 cycle high (year after halving) - $180,000 to $250,000
2029 cycle high (year after halving) - $500,000 to $750,000

While agreeing that it could happen, I am not sure that it would.
Here is my reasoning: last cycle was "abnormally" timid (only a 3.45X swing over the previous ATH).
Why? There could be two possibilities: one would be externalities, like China mining ban+ shenanigans of Celsius+Blockfi+FTX, plus exorbitant share printing by DCG; on the other hand, it could be just mechanics of the cycles, where each cycle causes less and less upward swing.

Therefore, next cycle would be an interesting test and @LFC numbers suggest resumption of the 'strong' swings: 250K would be re-acceleration or rather continuation of the swing strength and 180K just a small decline to 2.6X.

The current history of "swings" (from lows to highs) order goes like this:  First halving-from $2 cycle low to $1160 high(580X); Second-from $175 low to $20K high (114X); Third-from $3.2K low to $69K high (21.5X); Fourth-from supposed $15.7 low to ? high. Unfortunately, if the "swing" reduction factor from prior cycle to the next would be the same, the next number in the sequence is roughly 4-5X, which is ONLY 63K-78.5K, which is terrible. I, myself, don't believe that we would be "dealt" such cruel cards, but whatever 'acceleration' mechanism could be in play, it is still to reveal itself.

Personally, I think that the acceleration that makes @LFC numbers is possible, but would occur via realization of the potential in the realm of inscriptions.
Imagine this: each sat could have some informational packet attached. This opens up virtually unlimited potential in the future. Heck, every single Apple share could be inscribed on 157 bitcoins maximum (only 0.00074% of all bitcoin while Apple is, by itself, corresponds to 7.4% of US total stock market cap). There is plenty of room in bitcoin for ALL property plus future asteroids, planets, etc, etc...and that is even without going to sub-sats. Think about this.

The last cycle was characterized by many factors that are worth recalling.
1. The Covid panic of March 2020 crashed the price to 4K. A year or so later, it was already 65K. That's 16x growth!
2. The 65K price was not the result of speculation or euphoria, but of increased demand worldwide. It should be noted the price stayed in this range for months, which we did not have before.
3. Elon's tweets did serious damage and the first big drop to 30K was shocking to newbies.
4. However, within a few months due to the news of the futures ETF, the price surpassed the old ATH and reached 69K. Somewhere in there, the Chinese started panicking and spreading FUD news to hammer the price. By tradition, this gave result. Meanwhile, a huge percentage of bought bitcoins turned out to be FTX paper junk, which also had a negative effect. A whole bunch of institutions were dragged down like dominoes and the price hit the bottom of 15600.

The question is, how far could Bitcoin have gone if it weren't for all this bad news. I think there would have been a peak of over 100K, with a cycle bottom in the 25-35K range.

The next question is how far Bitcoin can go in 2025. In the worst case scenario - no ETF, with a ban from the US and China, the old ATH will be easily overtaken. That means a peak above 100K most likely. Basically, there will be potential for 200K, but it's very likely that hypocrites like Gary, Warren and the fat banker will do everything to stop the growth. They are terrified of Bitcoin because it threatens their banking system, which rests solely on false trust. If people knew the truth the feds are hiding they would immediately withdraw their money and buy bitcoins. But the common people like to be lied to with empty promises. On that note, I suspect puppet Garry's strings are being pulled by Warren and the fat one. So it is very likely that SEC will not give approval for the spot ETF. Whether this will lead to a return of the bear market remains to be seen. Nothing should be excluded. But there is still a long time until 2025, so I hope that the damage from these scavengers will be erased by then and we will enjoy new ATHs.

Here! Take them! Take them all!

OK Sir, nobody else seems to want to engage on this topic, so I'll jump in and 'splain the way I see it. Obviously the wordy one in question is the bot of prolific character creation with a quirky little modified dialect and an almost obsessed focus on safe investment strategy primarily (but not exclusively) based around BTC. Therefore, his moniker is clearly a modified dialect expression of his Model Number using too many characters. Model J-1 version G. (most likely indicating the 7th iteration of Model J-1) So proper pronunciation is somewhat phonetically spelled out as JayJuanGee  or  J-1-G. Of course what we don't know is whether firmware updates (without significant alterations requiring a new Version delineation, such as security updates rather than, say, language or character map changes) would append the model number with date code or ascending numeric additions at the end. (Such as J1.G.01072023 or J1.G.008) But really... even a bot needs a bit of OpSec!

Those are fairly decent points.  I will have to take them to my handler.

Now as to my own Moniker of Copetech, if you care, is derived from my original focus of professional expertise. I sold, serviced, and educated business owners in the proper deployment of machines that produced paper Copies of documents. (Copiers, Faxes, Printers, & Scanners) So it's "Cop-E-Tech, we help you Cope with business Technologies." I sold the customer list, contracts, and inventory in 2017 as I saw the manufacturers marketing strategy that I called the "race to the bottom". By focusing on market share rather than profit, they were forcing the service industry to eliminate all high value expertise and equipment to instead deploy high turn over of cheap plastic boxes maintained by minimum wage part swapping monkeys. Add this to the technology of paperless cloud based document storage and cheap touch screens and it was clear I needed to sell while I still had something of any value. (what was that I was saying about OpSec?)

Protip:  No bot should perform his own psychological review upon himself.

OK O/T rambling done, Go Bitcoin! $40k in July!

Guaranteed? or no?

There are NO Guarantees!!!

Let's just call it an asymmetrical bet...

Sure feels like we’re back to up only. With leveraged funds entering the mix now I expect a ton of volatility and there are lots of investors who will have reason to pump Bitcoin now. I wish we’d seen a spot ETF first and things like this a year from now, so we’ll have to see how it goes. It seems early for the market to be pumping BTC into a bubble.

I don't think this is the real "up only" bull market pump.  This is probably a usual intermediary cycle pump with afterwards corrections.

We will probably stay around 25k-35k levels (with some wicks) for the next 1 - 1.5 years.

if we are following the 2019 summer pattern you are likely correct.

but we could be in the 2016 pattern and could be headed to very high numbers.

I would guess you are 60-40 shot with your low guess

I Know I'm a Newbie and I probably don't understand, but... I has been checking all the charts including my Calendar...

If a person puts his girlfriend on a large monthly stipend, regardless of whether they are together or not in the future, that's progress, right? /s
You could not say that he is "paying" for her 'services', but how would you characterize the situation?

"girlfriend with a dividend"?
