I tried switching to port 2525 but all my shares were still just getting rejected.  We'll just wait and see I guess.

Anyone facing disconnection issue? Seems like unstable. Disconnected intermittently and now connection is dead also

Yeah I'm getting nothing but rejects from the pool.

Who's to say that Bitmain didn't mine with them for months before shipping them out?  Many people have gotten dusty miners direct from Bitmain.

Oh fuck off, why are you defending a fucking known scammer? Go back to your mom's basement, kid....

I'm not saying he's right or wrong just throwing possibilities out there.  Way to show your maturity level.

265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 03, 2017, 04:22:02 PM
Hey guys i got an offer to buy d3 for 1623 with  14 days delivery do you think i get roi?
By my own calculations, the current earnings, before expenses, is 86$/day. Do your math.
This is by doing the math on the block chain and not by using online calculators.

Earnings are closer to $30 per day by my calculations.
please explain how you do yours. Mines are in the previous post.

I didn't really look that close at your numbers but I think you are using 3.6 as the dash reward.  In actuality the block reward for dash is split 45% goes to the miner, 45% goes to the masternodes and 10% goes to the developers.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 03, 2017, 03:00:11 PM
If this continues dash should change its mining rewards. ~40 % block rewards go to miners, that's not enough and with a block halving in two years or so I'd hate to think what profits will be then unless dash skyrockets. Dash devs and master nodes get paid too well..

that won't change the dev of dashcoin likely holds half the coins and i heard he has half the nodes....they won't change imho.

(should probably research this ..what I was told anyway about dash)

That 10% dash budget is huge, every month they rake in millions to spend on salaries of a few employees and in developing dash. Only 30% of that goes to dash core. They are self funding unlike other coins. They won't change true just saying it would be nice if they did. Anything can change even if it has to fork. It's happened before.

https://www.dashforcenews.com/dash-monthly-budget-nears-1-million-30-goes-core/

Yeah I think they need to change their 45 45 10 split for new coins.  I think more should go to the miners.

268  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Difficulty contest Sept.18 Prize a sealed Trezor wallet. Picks are closed. on: October 02, 2017, 03:24:41 AM
Yeah definitely something strange going on with such a huge jump in such a short time.  I really thought we were going to be -7%
269  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Difficulty contest Sept.18 Prize a sealed Trezor wallet. Picks are closed. on: October 01, 2017, 03:48:28 PM
Wow I was way off but I'm certainly not complaining!
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: September 30, 2017, 05:44:06 PM
Just got an email from Bitmain. They shipped my L3 today. So they managed to ship on time for the September order. Most of my orders since 2014 they have always shipped early. They managed to ship on time so that is good.
Sounds good. My September S9s have been shipped beforehand about a week or so.

Hit with UPS fees again.  2 L3+ for $36.00
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: September 30, 2017, 02:33:58 PM
Does anyone know how I can get a L3+ hasboard one of my older overclocked units finally killed a hashboard after running at 475mh for the past few months.

no idea in that you overclocked it...not overclocking it if you were under the 180 days you could get another one

an L3+ should get 500 mh w/o overclocking ...so kinda confused how you overclocked it and only got 475 mh

what am I missing?

anyway, not that I know squat..but I'm up and can reply

I'm pretty sure that he means that he overclocked the frequency to 475 mhz and not the hash rate.

If your order is more than 2500 USD you need to put the social security number, I don't know more specifically why Fedex needs it.

In France you need to pay the French customs the value added tax of the total value. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value-added_tax

In France the VAT is 20%.

I don't know how it is in France, but I know I wouldn't want my SSN printed on the shipping label with my address for anybody to see.

Whoever lives in United States, can you tell me how much import duties' cost for one D3? If it it from UPS.

UPS charged me $39 for a D3.

how does it work? do they call you based on the phone number you provided to bitmain when you placed the original order? do you have to go show them your id and give your ssn?

When I checked the tracking number right on that page there was a notice about fees due so I knew right away and called them up so the package wouldn't get delayed.

I have a good db meter.  even  with it not done correctly  at the moment it drops sound 5db.

I can get it to 55db (I think)  cost for me will be pretty low as I had something for the plywood.
It is not lite weight  but the top  will be 1 piece of mdf ½ inch which will not be heavy.

I do builds like this to get people to garage mine.
The solar array is pretty big and we may expand it a lot in the next year.
Most people are not going to build a six acre  solar array along with a 1 acre array.

But a 30 amp circuit providing 24 amps or 5500 watts  is doable. In any two car garage if you have only 1 car in the garage.

Thanks for the tips Phil.  I hope to get 240v circuits run to my garage one day.

Thanks for the explanation.  I was just wondering what would happen if one of those two services were to go down.  Would there be a manual way to still get to your coins or are you screwed?

worse comes to worse you can import the trezor seed words/passphrase into another (bip38 or bip39? cant remember) wallet and all your addresses will be there. so even if all the trezor related stuff goes down you still have access to your coins.

Ah nice that's what I wanted to hear.  That there's a way to recover it if their service completely goes off the grid.  Thank you.

BITMAIN Order Shipped

Just got the email for the Sept 21-30 orders

Same here.  Just got my shipping notification as well.  Let the difficulty rise again!
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: September 28, 2017, 06:04:16 PM
Question about the trezor.  How exactly does that thing work?  Like it doesn't download the entire blockchain does it?  Does it rely on some kind to web services from trezor or do I have to run the trezor wallet on my machine and that downloads the blockchain?

The device talk to Trezor servers so there is no downloading of blockchain.

The backup server is "https://blockexplorer.com"

So basically all you need is the Internet.

Trezor hardware device keeps the private keys intact.

Interesting password mechanism that requires you to follow the dynamic numeric schema on the device.

Any send transactions and signing needs physical double-confirmation on the device.

I guess all of the above makes it very secure and foolproof.

Its better for day to day wallet use, IMHO vs the Nano.

Thanks for the explanation.  I was just wondering what would happen if one of those two services were to go down.  Would there be a manual way to still get to your coins or are you screwed?

So has anybody been brave enough to overclock their D3 yet?  Care to share the results?
