241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: October 20, 2017, 02:19:34 AM
Sorry to change the topic a little here but I'm hoping you guys can help me like you usually do.  So I got my trezor and ledger nano s.  I set them both up and transferred a tiny bit of coin into each one.  After that I wiped them and I recovered them from the seed keys and they worked great.  The problem here is that I set them up as segwit addresses which I figured shouldn't be that big of a deal.  Here's where the problem came up.  I wanted to set up a watch only wallet so that I could watch the balance of my devices without having to connect them every time.  So I exported the xpub key and imported it into Mycelium.  Of course in Mycelium both the trezor and the ledger balance showed up as zero.  Unfortunately I don't think there are any watch only wallets that support segwit at this point.  What should I do?  Do I switch back to the old bitcoin addresses or should I try to wait it out until there is support for segwit addresses?

Some update on the 9 x PCI slot motherboard.

The cables provided are 6pins on both ends, but the socket along the PCI slots are all 8pins... I assume that I could use the 6pin when inserted far right. I have done odd connections like this in the past when dealing with Bitmain PSUs.

I am waiting for confirmation from vendor so that I can be sure before I power it up.

A single Delta 2400w PSU would have no problems with this board.

Question is .... what GPU was this board intended for? My guess will be 1060/1070 or RX470/480.

---

Look perfect for the msi 1070 itx

Yup... I concur, 1070s has very good tdp, P106, 1060s even better

I tested the older R7-370s on this board to see the spacing and seems 8 x GPUs is best config. That slot - right side - next to the CPU card will be too close to each other.

Also, I think a basic aluminum open cage-frame is needed to ensure that the CPU card doesn't move around.

BACK

It looks like the PC board and one of the video cards could potentially tilt over and touch components.  That would kind of suck but looks like a nice board!

Argh I want these boards so bad! The pictures in here keep teasing me. I'd love to get rid of my risers and clunky stands..

Hey sootha - long time no see.

All the boards that I am testing - got them from here:

ONDA D1800 board:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100-New-in-BOX-for-Onda-D1800-BTC-Mining-Machine-Mining-Motherboard-Support-6-cards-All/32831833090.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.oTquOF

9xslot board (various versions, with and without chassis)
https://panto.en.alibaba.com/product/60667704668-803289429/customized_ethereum_miner_mining_machine_motherboard.html?spm=a2700.8304367.rect38f22d.4.164553c0CIiaYL

I like that middle one with the standard socket but in the description it says Intel J1800 2.4 GHz Dual Core Processor so it makes me wonder.   I almost didn't see the 4 1x PCIe slots near the sata and molex connectors.

Makes me wonder too - always verify with seller on the actual items with pictures etc.

Personally, I prefer all 6pin power connectors (eventually getting rid of PICO too)

Meanwhile, DHL sent me a reminder for the delivery of 9 x slot mobo;  end of day 19 Oct. I have identified an existing RX470 rig for testing.

BTW, inspired by generalt, I have changed my signature to my permanent BTC address for this Bitcointalk account.

Its going to be my tip jar to raise money for plane ticket to Labrador, Canada -- LOL!

Just kidding, dont send anything to this address  Grin

ONDA B250-BTC-D8P board (Phil check this out - custom CPU, DDR4)
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/2017-New-12-PCIE-Motherboard-Manufacturer_60699584995.html?spm=a2700.details.maylikever.9.4dc4ffe5MQkqOz

I would do a group buy for this.  we need to buy 20 pieces.

I have never done a deal with alibaba   but I want this board.

Put me down for one if it does have a socket for the CPU and not something soldered on.

Citronick:  Simply putting it in your signature is not enough.  Once they have your account they can just delete the signature from your profile like they did mine.
244  Other / Off-topic / Re: 27 Bitmain Antminer S9 for sale. Ready to ship. on: October 19, 2017, 12:26:16 AM
Recently bought S9 for .22. You're high. There are probably some idiots around that would be stupid enough to pay that. I wouldn't use that PSU either. What's price without it?

I think that's a video card and not a PSU lol

Also be careful of people pretending to use forum escrow only for them to make a fake email account with a similar name to the forum user name.  Make sure when you arrange escrow it is with the real forum trusted escrow agent.

I take it you are not willing to go through trusted forum escrow like phillipma1957?  If so I would probably be interested in the whole lot.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Adapter issue on: October 18, 2017, 02:11:13 AM
You need some sort of adapter cable like this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QM0K9Iso0_Y

I had the same issue when I wanted to replace the power supply in an older Dell PC that I had.  I had to get a 24 pin to Dell adapter cable.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 18, 2017, 01:51:42 AM
I've been trying to pick up one of these D3 Antminers for a while now but they keep selling out so fast.  By the time I am able to get one, they might not be profitable anymore.  I might look into other X11 options but their prices are more likely to be much higher.  Bitmain should limit only 1 D3 miner per person.

It all depends on your electricity rates really but don't expect a magical one month ROI.  We're talking closer to 9 month ROI depending on a ton of factors of course like coin prices and difficulty.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: October 18, 2017, 01:39:30 AM

I found a nice  deal on the  seasonic  ssr-1000gd gold  159.99

a very good review.  and they base it on a 189.99 price
https://www.hardocp.com/article/2017/08/23/seasonic_prime_1000w_gold_power_supply_review/

Looks like a nice PSU but am I reading that right that it has 4 12v rails or is that their way of saying yeah there's only one 12v rail but we're too lazy to change the chart to reflect that?  I think it's the latter.

Edit:  Yeah only one 12v rail.

My Oct Batch is coming . They had send a shipping notification email to me 12 hours ago.

Here we go.  Let's see what happens to difficulty next week when this new batch comes online.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: October 17, 2017, 11:14:36 PM

there are better cpu's  on pcie cards.

if you do 1070's  and  do 70% tdp  you are pulling 1000 watts on 7 pcie cables  that is 143 watts a cable  not ideal.

if that  70% tdp  unlocks and goes to 100%  you jump to 200 watts a cable and 1400 watts on the psu.

This motherboard may well be suitable for P106s, 1060, RX470, RX570 type GPUs - I doubt that the higher end GPUs can push up to 9 slots.

I have asked the supplier what GPUs are installed in the "full systems" - waiting for some info from him...

I also wonder how close the CPU board will be to the video cards.

looking at it  there are 9 gpu slots and the cpu slot is color blue.

I think  8 1070's  leave the one next to the cpu empty.

set at 70% tdp

105 watts a card x 8 = 840 watts under 40  for the rest  880 watts dc / 7 = 125 watts a cable

if  tdp decides to jump to 100%   1240  watts/7 = 177 watts a cable

my thoughts are this makes a really good rig for 8  water block 1070's clocked to 70%  tdp 140 + core   -700 memory mine  zec

I can clock to -800 to -1000 ram on smos and get good 1070 numbers with the water blocks.  practically silent

You're right I think using 8 cards sounds like it would make the most sense to leave room for the PC on a stick and not have to worry so much about the power as well.  That would make a really nice build.

254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Diagnose this on: October 17, 2017, 07:29:20 PM
I'm going to say risers.  Those things always cause problems and are the weakest link.  Since it reboots in 30 minutes it shouldn't be to hard to track down which one.  Just use the -di option to disable say 3 cards.  If it crashes, then enable the 3 you disabled and then disable a different set.  Keep going until you narrow it down to just one card that causes the system to crash.  It's either that card or that riser.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: October 17, 2017, 02:46:34 PM
All this hacks are giving me the blues.... lets move on to happy things like our quest for that 9 x slot riser-less rig.

My supplier just sent me the DHL tracking number - hope this board arrives fro me to play with it in the weekend.

395$ 9 slot PCI with a compute PCI blade and some cables.

45$ for 3-day DHL shipping service

Ordered 1 x set only for testing.

The mobo needs 7+9=16 x pcie 6 pin power .... depending on GPUs power requirements, you may need another Delta or server PSU for the GPUs... I guess we will find out this weekend.

OS to be installed on USB: smOS Linux
RAM: 4GB (hope this is enough)

Mobo

---CPU: Intel Broadwell-u3215/3205

---Installed Memory: 1X50-Dimm ddr3L 1.35V (not included the ddr)

---SSD: 1XmSATA port (not included the SSD)

---Ethernet:1X Gigabit, Intel I210-AT

---USB port : 2Xusb2.0

---HDMI port: 1X HDMI from CUP

---Dimension: 212X106mm

Pci-e solt board

---9Xpci-e 16 2.0 1 for Graphic card

---7X6PIN FOR Mobo

---2X3pin for case cooling

---1Xpci-e 16 X for CPU card

---9X6pin for Graphic card

---Dimension: 520X216mm

This board looks awesome.  I wonder if they make different compute sticks for it so you can upgrade to a different single board computer.  It sounds like 9 of the PCIe pins are power out and only 7 of them are power in which would worry me a bit unless I'm reading it wrong but of course you could just power the video cards direct from your PSU.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: October 17, 2017, 03:01:05 AM
So, finally, are the D3 delivered with 17,5GH/s or with 15?
Or this is only valid for September batches?

From what I read so far, they are 17.5GH with roughly 950W draw

I dont know how reliable they are. Some got problems within a couple days, others not... Same like with L3s and S9s

I've personally seen a board drop a lot more with my d3 than with my L3s...but as with anything it could easily be the other way around.  Luck of the draw (or bad luck of the draw depending).

I think my D3 are more sensitive to network drops.  A few times both of my D3 would have the infamous xxxx's on one board after a network outage but my L3 would chug on.

oh man - sorry to hear about your account generalt - I recall my first time on Bitcointalk, reading your posts in the A2 thread 2 years ago.

I have changed my BTC address several times over the 2 years (probably not a good idea to do this) and regularly change passwords too (good practice but wont stop the bad guys)

How I get increase my chances of getting my account back if my account gets hacked?

Would a Donator status or earn positive trusts points get me protected ? How do I do this?

Thanks citronick and I'm back!!!  I've learned a lot from you and Phil. It was actually with one of Phil's post that got me me account back just by being himself!  I won one of his guess the difficulty change games and in that post he made the payment to a BTC address that I still had control of.  I just had to send a BTC signed message with my account, the email address and today's day as well as a link to that post of my BTC address and just wait.  Eventually Cyrus restored the email to my account and I feel whole again.  So basically it is always good to have your BTC address that you can sign messages from quoted somewhere.  Make sure that it is one that you have control of and can sign messages with.  I don't think you can do it with addresses from exchanges.

260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] granatgas-pool x11 and scrypt multipool on: October 09, 2017, 03:24:37 AM
So update about the current situation:
The scrypt server has an issue right now.
There were a botnet attack on this port. Granat the CEO/Admin knows the issue and work very hard to fix it.
We also don't know why only 2 miners are connected. The port changed, so when the pool works just look which is the actual one.
Maybe you put the miners off or use in this time a other pool until the pool is fixed.

And i have tested #xnsup, it makes the hashrate more stable.

If you need fast updates/respones you can add granat on e.g Whatsapp, there is also a Group. The number is on the front/first page of the pool.

Edit//: I heard also about issues with X11, but I don't know so much about it.

Texted to request to join whatsapp group but no response yet.  Mind to update me when all troubleshooting is done?

Yeah I would wait until there's an official update until switching back.  No sense in losing hashes.
