301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: September 16, 2017, 07:57:47 PM
anybody got their D3 in hand?

I've got this message in my DHL tracking number
Clearance event
Further Detail:
The Clearance process for this shipment is on-going with additional details required for clearance

can somebody please tell me is it a normal process or not?

That sounds like you need to clear customs.

Thanks, but the device is still in china, and i guess bitmain need to clear the customs? and tomorrow is also holiday

Anybody got any update regarding their D3?

I got the dreaded "The receiver must pay the duties or taxes due on the package" from UPS

how many did u order? if it's not a secret

I ordered two units and had to pay $79 total.

What I don't get about D3 and Bitmain is why did they release the 15GH unit.

The could have milked everybody with a 5GH then 10GH then 15GH at the end, perhaps one year from now. Ppl would buy anyway.

Did they want to kill competition from other producers?

I think it would've be smarter to play it slow and nice while doing R&D and inside mining only.

They most certainly want to beat the competition.  They're the big bully on the block.  The more they pump out and the faster they pump out the more pressure it puts on their competition.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: September 15, 2017, 06:39:43 PM

More quick math: If difficulty merely doubles, that comes out to $1300 a month.
If difficulty increases tenfold, thats $260 a month
If difficulty increases a hundredfold, it would cost more to run the miner in electricity than it would mine, and the D3 would operate at a net loss of over $178 per month.

Worst case scenario here, is that by December of this year 200,000 D3's come online, which would add 2985TH/s to current global hashrate. Adding that to the current global hashrate for dash of 38.7 TH/s we get 3023.7 TH/s, which would be an increase in hashrate of a multiplier of 78.13 (what I mean is, take the estimated global hashrate of 3023.7 and divide it by the current global hashrate of 38.7)

Based on this (worst case) scenario each D3 would mine 33.38 per month before the cost of electricity.

So this is my first estimate, which I call 'worst case' estimate for dash difficulty by December. Before I try to do a 'best case' what do you guys think of my math thus far? I'm sure I have overlooked things. Any and all thoughts are much appreciated.

On a quick side note, I was able to put in an order last night for 4 D3's on the bitmain site, but based on this math I don't think I will be sending the wire, and I'll just let the order expire.

As they say, time is money.  Can you imagine having one now earing $2600 per month?  That works out to be about $87 per day $3.61 per hour or 6¢ per minute before electricity costs.  It all comes down to your electricity costs and those with free or low electric rates will always win out.  What you are not factoring in to make it even worse is if the price of Dash and other X11 coins drop even further.  We're going to have a lot of angry people out there.

Yea dont buy from baikal, payment sent and they reply / said i am on 2nd batch..wtf!  Angry Angry Angry Angry

Ouch, did they mention to you of end of October delivery date before you send payment?

Yea and then right after send proof payment they said first batch sold out. WTF! They said MANY customers have same experience as me! LOL... so thats why who were here same experience??

Sounds like bait and switch to me.  Probably only 10 in the first batch if there even really is a first batch.  Wink
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: September 15, 2017, 06:23:52 PM
I heard there will be a delay for later batches, and they are mostly getting money before other competitors start releasing. Is this true?
Bitcoin does not look good. Perhaps they want to offload their weight before it's too late. D3 out of stock, but L3+ still available and the site is responsive. Guess demand is not there any more.

Bitmain doesn't need to offload any weight. They have made a huge amount on selling the equipment on these and holding coins. I think they are want to reduce risk in holding btc/ltc so they are wanting to sell for USD or lower their risk. But they know they can survive for a long time. Maybe they want to outcompete others but Jihan is no fool. He would not sell equipment to ruin people intentionally. Otherwise this would be bad for his precious bitcoin.

The problem is if China bans all the exchanges, then Bitmain is going to have to convert all their crypto into fiat soon.  I'm not sure there's enough market demand for people to buy up all of Bitmain's crypto stashes.  I think this is one of the reasons why you can only pay via bank wire now.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: September 15, 2017, 06:21:33 PM
Anyone got their tracking number yet for batch 1?

They actually sent a tracking number with my order and according to that it just left China.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: September 15, 2017, 06:15:17 PM

there is a riser and if I fuck with this build I could do 2 on the mobo and 3 risers the board can do 5 cards.
I just set that r4 back to manual settings so it can do any freq you want.
I sold it today.

I'm sad I missed out on the sale of the R4.  Always wanted to check one of them out.
When you pull the car back into the garage, does the heat from the car effect your mining at all?  It's gotta raise the temperatures up a bit no?

I'm following this thread to see when the shipping-notices start going out - but reading about these many toasters being shipped off makes me sad.
Almost like they wanna make a race to destroy their customer's roi with pumping so many units out.
Just got a fedex-deliveryNote  Cool

I just got an email from them saying by batch 1 order has been shipped!  Hopefully get some coins back before the difficulty gets too crazy.

Interesting so 8 input and 8 output to the video cards.  I guess that makes more sense if you are planning on putting it in an enclosed case to leave the power supply external.  You'll also need some short PCIe to PCIe cables.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: September 14, 2017, 03:34:06 PM
I just checked.. and the d3 and l3+ is still available for purchase from bitmain! if you guys want these units that bad.. should work a little harder to secure an order. and save your breathe from complaining about bitmain.

where do u see this my friend ?

this Chinese website of bitmain.. switch it over to local china..
mainland china address and payment thou!
Eh, in stock thou.  but if you want them that bad, you will figure a way to secure the order.

So basically all the available quantities of the batches that we see are only part of the order since that doesn't include the China sales.  We are in for a world of hurt with the difficulty.

Being in UK I work in GBP rather than USD

I have had my miners running properly now for 2 weeks continuous all of them are linked to nicehash, prior to yesterday the average earning was £1 per hour per miner over a 24 hour period ... therefore giving me a return of £24 per miner per day ...

However since yesterday each miner has averaged £0.65 per hour giving a daily return of £15.33 per day ... thats a drop of 35%!!!!! WTF!! ... I am aware that the price of Bitcoin has dropped (choice of payment for nicehash) .. however if you note the amount in BTC rather than the value of the BTC .. you will still note the same pattern:

Prior to yesterday Hourly earned per miner = 0.0003171 BTC = Daily earning = 0.0076104 BTC

current hourly earned per miner = 0.0002518 BTC = Daily earning = 0.0060432 BTC

This is not looking good!!!

It seems like the L3 and D3 craze is bringing in a whole influx of new miners that just don't understand how difficulty will change profits.  With so many miners being released each batch this will continue to happen.  Think of it this way.  If 4 people are doing a job and get paid $100 to do that job each person gets $25.  Well now some other guy heard about this and they want to get in on it.  So now you have 5 people working on the same job for the same $100.  So now everybody is only getting $20 for that job.  As more and more people start jumping in on the job your share becomes less and less.  With Bitmain releasing 20,000 units of D3 and L3 each batch that's 20,000 extra miners all sharing the same piece of the pie unless of course X11 or Scrypt coins go up in value.  Good luck everybody!

Nice to have contacts in China!  Why would that motherboard have 16 PCIe inputs though?  Also would you need to connect all the PCIe inputs if you're using 1080Ti's that require another two PCIe plugs or do you really only need those for the non-powered video cards?
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: September 14, 2017, 03:00:18 PM
Seeing as SIGT is on top of whattomine.. what is more profitable?

Only 22k blocks left to ever be mined on SIGT. Probably 2-3 weeks to mine it.

https://blockstats.pw/signatum/

I have mined and kept some signatum, looking forward for the POS  Grin

Surely POS for SIGT will increase a lot the price !

I would'nt count on it. Miners are also traders, when they loose interest in a coin it drops.

That's my thought.  Once you can no longer mine it I think interest will fade.

Antminer D3 - November Batch

1 unpaid account with 3 orders:

1 order: 5 x D3
2nd order: 1 x D3
3rd order: 2 x D3 + 2 x PSU

It will be Shipped from 21-30 November directly from Bitmain Factory in Original Packaging.

Due to the nature of cryptocurrency there will be no returns. If there are any defects with the miner once they arrive, the factory Bitmain has a 180 Day Warrantee, so you will deal directly with them.

Accept payment via BTC, ETH, LTC or bank wire.

ESCROW ALSO ACCEPTED !!!!!

PRICE FOR ENTIRE UNPAID BITMAIN ACCOUNT IS 3500 USD NEGOTIABLE. I will give you the Bitmain account details and you will change the shipping address to yours.

I'm convinced that it's all the account resellers and their bots that make it impossible for people to buy direct from Bitmain.  People are expecting $3500 for their hard 10 minutes of work putting an item in a shopping cart and checking out.  Why do people get so mad a Bitmain right away and not these account resellers?
317  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] -=Antminer L3+ Stock=- Accept PayPal Visa Mastercard ! on: September 14, 2017, 02:51:38 AM

I can't decide what Bitmain is trying to do.  Either destroy all profitability of all these D3 and L3 miners or are they trying to pump the price of Litecoin and Dash up?  Also D3 I understand is Dash and L3 is Litecoin.  How did bitcoin get the S line?

"S" for Super-Duper ?  Tongue

Edit : Satoshi  ?

I was thinking Satoshi as well but who knows.

Don't do all your math with Litecoin calculator, many profitable coins run on Scrypt mining.

https://prohashing.com/   payed 0.0573$/Mhs for yesterday mining.
Nicehash payed little more.

Quick math :

500Mhs*0.0573$ = 28.65$

6000$ / 28.65$ = 209,42days

or 7 months without fee for payback.

New L3+ and D3 batch tomorrow :
