now trying

c=1050
m=1950
mv=800
hash = 60mh.

these cards are not a big deal

Not at all which is why I'm surprised that these are all sold out everywhere also.  I got one a few weeks after launch and never really tried looking for another one.  I can see why Nvidia has a shortage but I'm not sure why AMD also has a shortage.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: March 06, 2021, 12:15:08 AM

I think the gpu top is in.  I don't think that 3080's at $1,800-2000 is sustainable.  I think it is going to take a little while for prices to drop a lot though.

I had the chance to buy a stellar.io bot last night for $300 and I didn't.  Supposedly they sold around 2000 key's.  I regret it even though some people are saying the dev's might bolt.  Bot's are all the rage and now people are buying keys to in hopes to flip them.

End result is until BestBuy starts selling in store the average person looking for a top tier gpu is likely not getting one without buying from eBay, Stockx or a local reseller.

I sell a lot of toys during the holidays and it would be nice to be able to automate those purchase's to augment what I can get wholesale or retail brick and morters.  I may rent a bot for a month to see how difficult it is to keep up, what additional costs like proxies are, and how successful it is if I am trying to grab lower tier gpu's.

Yes it seems without a bot it's impossible to get a card at retail.  A lot of people are crying foul with the Newegg shuffle but that's the only way I've been able to get cards at a decent price these days and I look forward to entering the shuffle when it's available.

So what is Newegg’s return policy exactly? In my area I am seeing tons of these overpriced 100% over MSRP GPUs which are Brand New Sealed in the box. Since mining is profitable now they are loosing tons of money keeping them in the box.

Which leads me to believe that most of these people aren’t miners just people who want to flip the card. However how long is Newegg’s return policy exactly? Like 2 weeks? So if it doesn’t sell in 2 weeks they gotta send it back to the company.

This reminds me of a time when some women was at the Apple store trying to return like 20 iPads because she couldn’t flip them on Craigslist. I think it was Like the iPad 4 where the hype already died down and nobody was overpaying for them.

I'm pretty sure that they will sell for more than what you pay for them on Newegg if sold by Newegg not some 3rd party.  I think Newegg has some restocking fee though if you return things that aren't broken.

Edit:  I'm not buying them to flip them.  LOL

From their site https://www.newegg.com/promotions/nepro/20-2902/index.html

Restocking Fees
Returns are subject to restocking fees of 15%-30% of the purchase price. Newegg may assess the restocking fee against the customer's account or deduct the fee from the refund amount on all returns, subject to the Return Policy and any product-specific policy. Newegg reserves the right to adjust the value of any item returned for refund to reflect its current market price, in which case the restocking fee will be applied after this adjustment.

Newegg does not charge for restocking fees for returns of defective products, or if you received the wrong product, products damaged during shipment, or if the product did not match what was shown on the Site, provided the item is returned within its return policy period, and in accordance with the Return Policy.

In the event a product is returned that is not defective or an incorrect product or where the product does match what was shown on the Site, the product will either be returned to the customer or the return shipping cost initially covered by Newegg will instead be deducted from the refund amount along with any necessary restocking fee that may apply.

I got picked for the bundle that you wanted Phil.  The MSI 3070 with the OLOy memory.

did you buy it?

I did indeed!  At this rate it's still at a good ROI in my eyes.

I don't have any plans for the memory at this point.

they are eth weakened to about 21mh

I will be testing other algos

-a octopus -o stratum+tcp://octopus.eu-west.nicehash.com:3389 -u 1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje.oct --api 127.0.0.1:22333

here it is on nicehash

https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

this is 1x 3070
and 1x 3060

now on octopus it is equal to the 3070 bothe do about 36mh for a total of 72mh  and earn over 5 euros a day which is about 7 usd

I was picked for the Newegg shuffle on Monday for one of the 3060s.  Even though it was from Newegg I think I paid way too much for it.  It was the MSI Gaming X Trio model for $540.  I just wanted to play with it as well and a little part of me hopes that somebody finds a way around their eth nerf for these cards.  Let me know if you manage to squeeze more speed out of it.  $3.50 a day still isn't bad.  It's just the model I got selected for is too much.  I feel everybody is gouging on the prices now or that 25% tax in the US is funding the stimulus package.  Still 160 days to ROI is pretty good.

In Europe they use a decimal for a comma and a comma for a decimal.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 26, 2021, 03:35:10 AM
3060

mining on nicehash:

eth is paying about $2.70 right now at 26.

Octopus  is about $3.40 at 125 watts, reported by NBminer

Kapow is about $2.84

at $3.40 a day ROI is about 121 days/4 months.  not counting taxes and electricity

edit: these returns are with 10 min or less of mining.  I will run each for an hour and take note.

So... hopefully someone breaks Nvidia's algorithm.

Nice thanks for the info.  I was not selected for the Newegg shuffle either.  I had high hopes of getting one of these cards but I guess it wasn't meant to be.  121 days to break even is great in my book.

You have to send them an email and they will invoice you for wire transfer or btc/eth payment.

I would consider getting one to play with but I'm not sure I want to take the risk.

What's the smallest computer you can get a GPU to mine with?
Looking to build small spaceheaters, GPU+PSU+mini board with WIFI would seems a fun idea

Looks like these are available for $140 and $30 shipping.  Not bad for Mobo, cpu, ram that runs off one 6pin power cable and smaller than a GPU.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0l25B9cnMsg&

That's a neat little board.  I like it.

I spaced out doing the shuffle today, oh well.

I got picked for the 5900x processor.  I'm on the fence about it.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 22, 2021, 11:31:27 PM
I like to make my card tally public since eventually I sell the cards.
I just lower the cost value by the mining earnings although these cards may all have a $0 cost value when I sell them.

I'm pretty sure by the time you're ready to sell any of these cards the cost value will be $0.  Some 5700 XT I bought back in November are just about there.  My first 3000 series card wasn't purchased until Jan of this year so those still have some time to break even.  I'm definitely slowing down with them though after seeing that post with those 100 asics up and running on eth.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 22, 2021, 01:19:59 AM
I think the gpu list is :

13x 5500xt........................mining
16x 5600xt........................mining
15x 5700xt........................mining      all amd have paid off

1x 6800xt back order ..........1100

1x 3090..............mining  this has earned 240 after power cost was 2070
1x 3090..............shipped 1960 cost zero back
3x 3080..............mining. these have mined 90 days 88 days 82 days earned 2717 power about 200 profit 2517 I PAID 2500 FOR THE 3 SO THEY ARE FREE AND CLEAR
2x 3070..............mining  1700  17 and 10 days earned 162 power 12 so 150 back
1x 3060ti............mining this has earned 528 power cost 53 net 475 I paid 512 for it it will be free and clear in  6 or 7 days
2x 3060ti............shipped 1850 cost zero back
2x omen pc with 3070 ............waiting for shipping. cost 2600 zero back

The accountant in you really shines.  I really should do this for my cards as well and I only have about 15 cards mixed 5700 amd/3000 nvidia series

It's a beautiful time we're mining in Phil.  Best of luck with all that equipment.  I haven't been able to find anything new at a decent price in a while but of course I'm mostly relying on the Newegg Shuffle these days as I can't keep up with the bots.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 18, 2021, 01:09:52 AM
I missed the shuffle was not picked.

eth is paying .1147 usd at viabtc.com

anything over 0.08 is good.

Highest was .1356

hash  is up to  397.  but that is the same as sunday

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

maybe gear is really truly running out for the big boys.

The asics concern me.  Between LinZhi and Innosilicon I find it hard to believe that Bitmain doesn't have something in the works or already made.  I mean they had the E3 so there's no reason to believe that they don't have an updated version of that already or at least in the works.  But if the chip makers are all strapped that they can't keep up demand for video cards, PS5s, Xboxes, maybe the asic makers should be in the same boat trying to get manufacturing to make their miners.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 17, 2021, 11:45:21 PM
I rather they do the shuffle.

Same here.  Today's shuffle is a little disappointing.  All overpriced 6800 cards.

I can't find much info on how they mine - looks like 58-64 at 150watts?  at pretty high voltage compared to the 5700.  i have my 5700's at 56/MH using 88w-114w(not to the wall).

Also looks like the miners are just now starting to support the 6 series.  Think I will pass.

I have 1 reference 6800 and it is mining at 58 but at least I paid the retail price for it before the hikes.  I think it came to $625 or so in the end.  I was upset back when I got it but now I realize it was a steal.

I wonder if Newegg is going to sell the 3060 cards via the shuffle as well or will it be free for all.

some gpus
evga 3070
asus 3070

and some ryzen cpus

Once again I was denied

Yep they passed me this time.

I have 2 cards coming

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=24G-P5-3987-KR.

I got a good price from minefarmbuy for this one.  And it matches the same one I got from Newegg Shuffle.

this is coming from my Newegg Shuffle win last week.
https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-3070-rtx-3070-suprim-x-8g/p/N82E16814137620?Item=N82E16814137620

I also have the omen rigs but of the five them only one is mine.

So 115+62+62= 239mh on the way

eth is still over 11 cents but it was as high as 13 cents an mh

the diff is growing like mad.

https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate

it has grown from 293th to 397th

Jan 1 to Feb 14

That is a killer pace.

With the difficulty going up so much current purchases are going to take longer to ROI but now is the the time I worry how long this market will hold up.  At this point it's like winning a game trying to get a 3000 series card at retail pricing and when that happens it's hard to pass up though so I'll probably buy more cards if I get selected in the shuffle.
