Thanks for the update! How much funding is needed for you to work full time through the month of October also? Perhaps people here would be interested in pooling some funds together.

Well, the cost of living is high where I live... it would take about US$2750.
[...]
Also, gnosis, post your BTC, ANC addresses please

BTC: 14QnfqVG3CqLGBYHgD8tPYJVLxQ2AfvPEx
ANC: AU4hFCFZLhB2gTyG4VbaEurXGrTMNW2nu6
To get the ball rolling, I will match every 1 ANC donated with 1 ANC. My limit is 2000 ANC and offer lasts until 1st October, e.g if people donate 2000 ANC I will donate 2000 ANC which makes the total 4000 ANC.

At current price 4000*0.0015= 6 BTC * $460 = $2760

Gnosis has stated that he needs $2750 to work full time on anoncoin/zerocoin for the month of October.

Let's do it!

Could you please start the ball rolling?

I think we have potential to join DOGE on the moon here. Before we contribute to the ANC rocket ship plan can we get a confirmation about our github code concerns? Instead of a 2 week delay can we wait to publish anything until we are ready for our actual moon launch?

I would hate to see another coin take our code while we are in testnet and launch to the moon before we can!

Good luck to you guys, I have been rooting for Anoncoin to successfully implement Zerocoin, as I think it will be the most anonymous Cryptocurrency if you guys can do so. It is because of Anoncoin's attempt at Zerocoin implementation that I can't stand all the Monero shilling as being a sure bet.

I think if you guys successfully implement Zerocoin, you will be the Anon coin to beat. It is crazy to me that the Monero fan boys aren't the least bit worried about Anoncoin. I am not sure if they are just ignorant, or if they are trying to pump Monero up while they cash out. Either way it annoys me, so I have chosen Anoncoin as my most likely to succeed anon coin at this point in time. It seems Zerocoin implementation is imminent.
I haven't seen any Monero shilling in this thread. Also, I should remind everyone that the lead developer of Monero and Anoncoin are founding members of PrivacySolutions.no, so we are all friends here!

Though I think Zerocoin is better than ring signatures, I also think that Monero is one of the few "honest" coins out there today (yes, I have followed the entire bytecoin-scam history).

People who support privacy are on the same team. Sure, when money comes in to play we'll all want an edge no matter what it comes down to, in trading it's hard for everyone to be a winner. But in the end we will all be better off if we can have private transactions.

XMR have some pros and cons, and so does Zerocoin. They may end up serving different purposes (for example XMR may be able to handle larger transaction volume and ZC may be the "NSA safe" coin for that special transaction you don't want ANYONE to be able to dig up no matter what(I'm not saying this is what will happen, it's just an example)), or some technology just "wins" because it was good enough. We can't know yet.

One thing we CAN be sure of, is that whatever coin grows will have it's share of shills, trolls, haters and obnoxious supporters. It's just part of the game.

I agree that there is no need to fight. It is possible to support both XMR and ANC at once.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: September 14, 2014, 01:40:39 PM

Other upcoming dates:

September 15: the RSA UFO project ends, participants are rewarded, and the server source is released to our Github.

September 17: the first Zerocoin commits get pushed to our Github (Anoncoin/anoncoin, "zc" branch). As I said before, the public Github will lag 2 weeks behind active development in our private repository; this is to make things more difficult for copycat coins.

I have thought a lot about this. If commits get pushed to Github as planned (before testnet) then I am done with Anoncoin.

Although I admire the honestly and hard work of our dev team I fear all will be lost. Other coins have larger development teams and are capable of copying our work quickly. Zerocoin integration is the only reason why I was interested in ANC.

The previous delays I could deal with fine as I know this project was a difficult one.  I just cant understand the rush to publish commits to Github before launch. Gnosis and Meeh worked so hard on this coin! Why allow others to copy your work so easily?

I really hope our dev team changes their mind on this and quickly.  Please speak up if you agree with me as time is of the essence. We don't want to wait a few more days (when commits to Github begin) and long term supporters start dumping ANC shares because other coins are stealing our work with a plan to launch before us.

I won't mention the names of the "other coins" here but a search of this forum will reveal several working on zerocoin integration now. Once our work is seen in Github, there will be many more
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official Anoncoin chat thread (including history) on: September 14, 2014, 01:27:40 AM
As I promised two weeks ago, here is an estimate for completion of Zerocoin-in-Anoncoin that I feel has a very high chance of being met (a "hard deadline").

By October 15, I'll have Zerocoin integration in "alpha" state, and on a testnet for anybody to try.

By November 1, I'll have Zerocoin in mainnet, which means you can use the ANC you have now to mint and spend zerocoins. It will still be in "beta", meaning you should pay attention to our website, IRC, and our bitcointalk.org thread for security updates to the wallet and anoncoind; this is especially important if you are a miner or running a relay node.

I realized that I have made deadlines in the past that were not met. I put a lot of thought into the above deadlines and I know that they can be met. Just as a reminder, I'm working full-time on Zerocoin until at least October 1, and possibly after depending on funding.

Thanks for the update. No worries about the delays from the past. They are expected in crypto. Glad to hear you have more time going forward to dedicate to the project. Let us know how much BTC would allow you to work full time until completion

PLEASE dont post commits in Github at least until test-net (or preferably main-net) time. While we have a head start there are other coins that are interested in implementing zerocoin and have multiple developers. The last thing we need is for them to use our commits and launch before we do. We cannot know for sure that these other coins are not working on  RSA UFO as well.

Keep up the great work, but please don't share it (even on a 2 week delay) until we launch.  Once we launch it should be safe to release because our first mover advantage will protect us from the clones

I would tend to say you submitted the logo to the contest and therefore its content belongs to the community. We said we would give 300$ to the one with the most vote, but i'm not sure it means this was a buying contract for the one with the most vote. It was a contest, so you submit your work at our disposal.

All the logo submitted are in my opinion free for Cinnicoin to use.
At least, that's my theory and this would make Supercoin the plagiarist.

Are you out of your GD mind? What is that some stupid fucking file sharing generation mentality? Unless otherwise stated the work remains the property of the artist / creator.

BrookeFinancial was the only design outside of the current one that was worth a shit.

All of unlock.mk's designs, although very creative, are awful for this coin. The free #1 looks like it came from "the hive" and the second free logo is "straight out of compton". We are not looking to market Fisher Price's next kiddie toy, this is about mass adoption & money.

Has Cinni fallen into the hands of idiots? If you are looking for serious investors(this is the point isn't it?) stop treating it like you are planning on marketing it to 12 yr olds.

"lets be more like doge?" OMG really? Doge is dead, it's just the creatives and the children that are still hanging on to that pipe dream. 29 sats here we come...

In this Wild West world with scam coins becoming the norm, is this immature coin image the one you want to project?

My accumulation phase is officially over until you monkeys pull your heads out of your asses and start treating this coin like you hope people will buy it. Maybe the FUD has been right about this project...

And for gods sake unlock.mk, let the next free logos be more professional, more subdued & more serious.

Oh wait, am I making too much sense? Should I type slower for the reality challenged?

Sorry you don't like our video or logo ideas. Feel free to contribute your own ideas if you think you can do better.

No need to make fun of DOGE. I think it's funny that you make fun of their meme when plankton coin in your signature basically promotes a fish meme as "whale food"

CINNI is a serious coin with serious features. That does not mean we can't have fun promoting it and trying to grow the community. How many women do you know in crypto? The truth is DOGE attracted a new demographic and grew a large community. Maybe CINNI can do the same.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinni | PoS | First Coin With Private Encrypted Messaging | No premine on: August 07, 2014, 08:23:55 AM
I love how this community loves to have fun with logos and does not take itself too seriously. Crypto should be fun!

Doge coin is how I found out about crypto. The meme was funny and the videos were great!

Lets be honest. CINNI has much more features (encrypted messages and invoicing) and a better wallet than DOGE. However DOGE has a much larger market cap. Why? The community and fun!

Lets make some fun videos like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=000al7ru3ms

We can sponsor some things (on a smaller scale) like DOGE sponsored NASCAR and the Olympic Bobsled team.

Lets have fun!

What do you all think?
407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SignatureCoin (SIGN) - ANON WALLET RELEASED | X11 Free Distribution SOON! on: August 06, 2014, 09:31:17 PM
Interesting distribution method.

What are your future marketing plans/target market after distribution is complete?
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 28, 2014, 02:37:09 AM
What will differentiate NXT once Ethereum comes out?

Does NXT have any unique plans that cannot be solved easier on the more flexible Ethereum platform?

Indeed.

1) Smart Contracts -- Not Turing-complete but covers basically 99% of all smart contract problems (trust me contract writers do not need Turing-completeness)
2) Automated Transactions -- Turing-completeness addition to Nxt; for the 1% other applications that require more elaborate algorithms

Btw. more flexible is not easier. In fact, most of the time it is the other way round. With more flexibility comes a steeper learning curve and bigger amount of mistakes made.

Thank you for your thoughtful response!

As much as I like the idea of Turing completeness your comments make sense. It is very complex and brings additional security risks for such as infinite loops, etc which could potentially do harm to the blockchain

I think valuation is the main issue here

Perhaps its worth checking to see how long ago the video was recorded.....

The timing of OP to come back (after being gone a month) just to post the video is interesting.

412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uncensored XC thread on: July 26, 2014, 11:35:30 PM
XC was made by loljosh(who is paid to make alt coins for BTC), which means atsecure(XC "dev") can't code himself, he pays loljosh to do everything for him. Similar to coingen.io

Pic #1(atsecure leaves loljosh a positive comment for great service, the amount of BTC risked/paid is .7

Pic #2(loljosh lists the price of .8 for x11+PoS, which is relatively the same price atsecure paid loljosh when he left him the positive comment, The day after XC was released..

Conclusion: XC was made by loljosh for .7/.8 BTC from atsecure. It's just another clone/copy coin.

Can someone confirm this please? Is it possible the .7btc payment was for something else?
413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 26, 2014, 10:19:14 PM
I think some people (developers, community members, etc) will buy ether not as an investment but because they want to see the technology succeed.

We have been discussing for a long time the numerous potential applications for blockchain technology. Ethereum will make this easier to realize (turing complete)

Frankly my biggest concern is about the security problems of the biggest strength of ethereum. Bitcoin chose not to become turing complete because of these concerns.

I hope ethereum succeeds, but the risks are many

DRK and XC Communities,

The toxic back and forth between our two communities has reached a level with which neither of us are comfortable or impressed.  The competitive space for our coins lies in the results, and the results will speak for themselves as they are brought online.  Whatever mistakes or provocations were undertaken by either side are in the past, and we would like them to remain there.  We are all interested in one thing: the advancement of anonymous cryptocurrency.   Let go of the tribalism and start thinking of how you can positively contribute to that end.

Evan and Dan

Posting pictures of half naked overweight ladies is not a good way to promote either coin or get women interested in crypto.
