201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: November 16, 2015, 01:56:36 AM
Hi all,

Many thanks to those that have taken the time to test Popboolr and provide feedback. Apologies for the radio-silence, I've been out of the country for a few weeks and have returned to a mountain of work... so not much time for this labour of love!

I do have one question. You are looking at 60 minutes of Twitter data right? I imagine that is a lot of data. Several times when playing the game froze up and became temporarily unresponsive. I wonder if it is related to your need to parse and update so much information. Would it help to either decrease the amount of Twitter data you are parsing (maybe only the last 30 minutes) or slightly decrease how often you update it?

I downsized the server capacity before I went away, this may account for the unresponsiveness. I'll ramp it up again when I resume development.

Ultimately Popboolr is an ambitious project with an aim to handle a lot more data (in real time) than it parses at the moment. However I'll look into adjusting the parameters, for now, in order to get a workable prototype up and running .

Could the platform be modified such that it watches for hashtags if having a kinda image of e.g. BBR logo shaped from a food (and an address to clam a part of the e.g. daily reward. And for the platform to have vote-ups and downs, once a day, and basically to split a rewards between claimers and ppl posting food made bbr logo incarnations Smiley I'm probably going too far here, but there was a mention of just brainstorming, and that would create a market with a dynamics

How about only being able to claim tweets that mention certain keywords like #crypto #bitcoin #CryptoNote #Boolberry #privacy #fungible, etc. Naturally #Boolberry should have the highest possible reward!

Or you could create incentives to create content that is later claimed by players. For example the person that Tweeted something mentioning #boolberry (assuming they are registered with popboolr) could receive a reward 5x as large as the person who claimed the Tweet. Creating content is harder than claiming Tweets and also more valuable to Boolberry assuming that content is relevant.

There are a number of ideas I have around associating bool rewards with certain hashtags. Even letting users (let's call them 'Sponsors') create their on hashtags and define the pot amount/ reward per tweet or retweet. As a further step other users can upvote and devote those tweets to increase/ decrease the rewards.

Quote
E.g. Nike sponsor #JustDoIt. Alice tweets something witty using the hashtag #JustDoIt that gets retweeted numerous times. Alice comes to Popboolr  and claims a reward for her tweet and the retweets. On top of this,  other visitors to Popboolr reward Alice further by upvoting her tweet on Popboolr. E.g. Bob, upvotes and awards Alice 100 bools out of his balance.

These are more "Phase Two" Popboolr features.... one of the considerations in doing this however is to avoid Popboolr becoming a Twitter spam vehicle.

Two features I'm definitely looking to introduce before going live with "Phase One" are:

(1) Daily Leaderboard
- at the moment there is just a single all time leaderboard. These can be pretty daunting for new Players. I want to reset the leaderboard daily and allow users to compete each day to top the charts. Users can then boost their status and reputation based how well there have done on the daily, monthly, yearly basis. With archive data and statistics on Players performances.

(2) Automated Boolberry rewards
- I'm looking to create a user accounts page that allows users to automatically cash out to their BBR wallet by simply entering how much they wish to cash out and to what BBR address.

That's all for now. Thanks again for your engagement. I'm pretty flat out until Christmas, however hopefully I'll get an opportunity to resume work in earnest on Popboolr over the holiday period.

Damashup

I know subjectivity is hard to code but if there was some way to include higher rewards based on not just keywords but relevance that could help eliminate spam. Maybe there could be some way to provide negative incentives for using #boolberry related keywords without any relevant context

Like a Proof of Constructive Human Work? Smiley I still like that idea the most, and "to be eaten food" is kinda easy to proof to be constructive human work. Living in a house shaped as the BBR logo would be even better proof  Cheesy

CZ, could bigj have the hard fork but in a way that BBR has e.g. 1% of mined limited to 1 year for a purpose? Miners should agree on this, it will distribute BBR to humans through a game which adds value at this age of BBR,  and 1 year limits any inefficiencies that may/will develop for the process?

Yes! Using some of the 1% for game promotion wold spread BBR usage.

Where can I buy a BBR logo shaped house?

Cheesy

CZ, Do you own boolberry.com Are you still allowing people to register for the forum there? Or should we just keep using Reddit and Bitcointalk?
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: November 16, 2015, 01:52:41 AM
I think there is an issue with the built in windows unzipper utility for files over 4 GB or so. I had an issue with downloading/unzipping a bootstrap for huntercoin, and it was due to trying to use windows unzipper. If the file is bigger than 4 GB, try using 7zip or something else to extract.
Are you using 0.9 beta build? There is no blockchain for it to download. You should sync from scratch (~3.5 hours for me).

Hmm...
I think its in RAM the problem. Its on 100% of usage when wants to read/loading blockchain(reaching in some time) and then when starts to update I get that error for "height", file is 4.2GB.
My RAM size is 3x2GB.
No, I've 886.

Thanks!

Use the beta bins linked in my sig

Your sig is very useful!

I hope the "beta" label is removed soon!
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: November 16, 2015, 01:50:00 AM
In all seriousness on the AEON vs BBR thing, I think both coins are seriously undervalued and BBR is even more undervalued. Just take a look at the crap coins on the list that have similar values, some with zero development or community, dead/abandoned ANN threads, etc.

Both coins should be in the top 50 to top 100 right now IMO. Exactly which should be higher than the other I don't know. Both have good potential to do well in the future, so we'll just see how it works out.

I agree both are severely undervalued. Shapeshift support for both would help. Currencies need to be easier to spend! Right now Poloniex (where Aeon will hopefully be added soon) is the only CryptoNote "market" where CryptoNote coins are frequently traded for XMR. Shapeshift could become a 2nd.

26. a3

Takes b4 away from the knight and in this type of ending the pawns belong on a different colour square from the bishop.

Good idea. I will make the 2nd vote for 26.a3
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: November 12, 2015, 02:30:24 AM
Another reason why those who know what they are talking about choose Monero over DASH:
https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3s085o/why_the_altcoin_takeover_scenario_has_become_a/cwt2prf

Monero is anonymous and DASH is not.

Many cryptography experts have said good things about Monero. Good luck naming one who has said anything positive about DASH cryptography.

DASH is snake oil sold to the uneducated. Nothing more

Any updates from the bitcointalk moderators?

No answers? I thought the thread was in the right place before it was moved.

24. Qd2

Second vote for 24.Qd2

Besides 24.Qc1 it is our only option

Qd2 has my vote

Sometimes it's good to just start fresh, I've made four separate discoveries so far  Grin.

I'm sorry, but I've got to agree with the trolls here: Posts like this one contain no useful information and only create the impression that the dev is trying to pump their own coin. So if you're unwilling to share anything of substance, it might be better not to post on the development progress at all.

Did I mention that I hate those teaser-based marketing strategies?

I was waiting for someone to ask what I discovered... Basically, something called masternode input age based quorum layering. Quorums are created using the age of the masternodes, 25% of the quorums are more than 1.5 years old, the next 25% is more than 1 year old, the next 25% is more than 6 months old, then the final 25% is any masternode that is newer than that. It guarantees, you can't control a quorum by just buying coins from an exchange to make new masternodes, there will always be masternodes that are really, really old.

That will create a market for Master Nodes.
Maybe instead of using quorums using all 25% of the nodes from the same date range, use an even distribution of nodes from each date range. That would eliminate any specific value to old or new nodes.

Problem is, it unnecessarily involves far more nodes than needed to be secure, and reduces the number of simultaneous "groups" or quorums that can operate at once, thus how many transactions the system can handle.  But you take 1 or 2 from each range of dates (I assume 1/4 of the number of masternode that were started earliest, next earliest, next earliest and latest) and you have a double system that one really couldn't game.  You'd be able to reduce the quorum to 4 instead of 10 and easily be just as secure.

The idea is that the masternodes will be bunched up in little committees for each transaction.  They may do dozens of transactions each - every block (maybe hundreds, I don't know?)  They have other things to do, so Evan's calculations were based on 1/2 of their time being spent locking transactions.  Anyway we could already, with 3300 masternodes, handle the number of transactions Visa, handles in a day.  And it's far more secure, even than mining because there is no 51% or less attack vector and virtually impossible to attack.

Evolution is going to be amazing.  Truely world wide use ready.  We're going to have to hit the marketing hard when it's finished!
And going for a #2.

Not a full 25% of nodes need to be in a quorum.  I am sure Evan knows the number...maybe 8-12 or something.  Key is that some are new and some are old.

Keep in mind that Evan does what is best for Evan not Xcoin Darkcoin or Dash. Even when his actions are diametrically opposed to the best interest of the community, he will choose to enrich himself at every turn. All the proof you need is in the few hours before and few days after the launch of this coin. However that was not enough! In addition to the instamine he cancelled the airdrop and lowered the coinsupply (increasing his % of ownership). Once masternodes came along he began his new strategy of raising taxes on the miners (in the form of masternode payments) for the benefit of the instaminers.

What will he do next? Reread the last paragraph is you have any question about the loyalties of Evan.
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH Collapsing Monero UP on: November 10, 2015, 02:20:55 AM
He argues it's difficult to attack it like that because one would drive up the price too much, thus admitting an attack is possible, albeit difficult... but possible nonetheless... This would be a major concern to me as an investor...

Looks like also that aspect of the FUD has just been obsoleted:

Basically, something called masternode input age based quorum layering. Quorums are created using the age of the masternodes, 25% of the quorums are more than 1.5 years old, the next 25% is more than 1 year old, the next 25% is more than 6 months old, then the final 25% is any masternode that is newer than that. It guarantees, you can't control a quorum by just buying coins from an exchange to make new masternodes, there will always be masternodes that are really, really old.

Maybe people are worried about the old masternodes being used by nefarious characters. After all Evan Instamine & Co own a large percentage of them and they are as shady as they come. Evan & Co are also publicly identifiable so anyone who can gain influence Evan immediately gains control over a large percentage of all old masternodes.

Who is worried about new buyers misbehaving? New buyers are the victims of this HYIP.

211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: November 10, 2015, 02:14:47 AM
I'm kinda moving towards Æ. Seems a lot more futuristic somehow, and æ would most likely just be written as ae, which doesn't look quite as unique for a currency symbol.

I like Æ the best of the suggestions I have seen so far

Boolberry price is very low. So sad

Don't be sad. Boolberry is an altcoin.  Altcoins are volatile.  Boolberry has been around for a significant amount of time.  It's not going away.

Secure your wallet and do what you can to promote and advance Boolberry.

Let brainstorm ways for non programmers to help "promote and advance Boolberry".............

Volume way down, under 30 BTC for past couple days on polo, and total bids around 100 BTC on the same. Anyone thinks we're gonna push upwards in next few days? I'm more inclined to believe that someone is gonna pull that wall at 0.00115 and we'll dip below 0.001 in next weekish.

With .9 release coming soon I do not see why that would be likely right now, but in these volatile markets anything can happen.

looking to create my own cryptocurrency in ICO form.. suggestions? how much it cost?

This is your lucky day. Most of the forum has been eagerly awaiting a new ICO from a developer without a clear plan!

LOL

21.b4

They will probably play Qa3 (because Nxe2+ Rxe2 is really good for us. After the queen moves we can trade on e5 then play Nxf5+)

21.b4 Qa3 22. Nxf5+ Rxf5 23.Qd2 is my plan

So working off these instructions I have a few questions

https://forum.getmonero.org/5/support/360/bitmonerod-node-on-rpi2-working

First do you have to have a 256GB USB drive?  (I have a 100gb usb drive at my disposal now) Will you need that much space on a drive or will an 32GB SD card be enough?  If not enough space should I just load the OS on the USB drive instead of an SD card.  The SD card i have is a class 10 but limited in size.

Second Can raspbian be used instead of ubuntu?

I will let you know that I'm so new to Linux that you could call me a retard.  Seriously I'm that stupid with it.  Only saving grace is I still remember some of my old Dos command line stuff but I realize there are differences when using Linux command line and I'm slowly learning.

The goal is to set up the Rasp Pi 2 as a 24/7 node.  Thanks for any and all help.

Many inexpensive nodes should be set up like this!

For a while AEON was going up while almost all alts were falling. Looks like gravity finally caught up to it:(

I like the tail emission discussions
