He is trolling lol

TrueCryptonaire actually is one of my favorite Monero trolls. Transparent, yes but he is still funny at times.

It is fun to look at his history and record the dates that marked his change from bull to bear and vise versa (pattern repeats several times).
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: December 27, 2015, 05:35:20 AM
We are at the dawn of what may be only the second 'true' global money ever encountered by humanity (the first being gold).

I use the word 'true' in the sense that no human or small group of humans has direct access to control it, which if crypto becomes as big as we hope - will be the reality.

It would be silly to think that humans, who have quibbled over all manner of small details in their beliefs and social structures throughout the ages, would suddenly all unite under one common banner in this new financial universe of 'cryptocurrency'.

No, the reality will be far messier: there will be many competing standards and networks of value.  Some will be more valuable than others, but just as there is not one universal language or one universal religion there will not be one universal money.

It is likely that Monero may become the dominant network by size, but there is still plenty of room for Aeon.  In fact, I can imagine some scenarios where even though Monero may have a larger network Aeon still carries higher value.  I can also imagine scenarios where Aeon may overtake a sluggish Monero which cripples itself by becoming too dependent on a variable that users are resistant to change (like the blocksize issue in the current Bitcoin network).

I do agree - the future is very bright and I sense some monumental things on the horizon for cryptocurrency, and Aeon by association.

Nice post.  I am optimistic about Aeon too but think it is very likely Monero will remain the market leader.

One question: is the 10btc buy wall for Aeon yours? Feel free to ignore the question if you want to remain private about it. I just don't see why one person would need that many coins (if indeed it is you since you already have so many).

An interesting tweet regarding CryptoNote led to this comment about Level DB vs LMDB. Lets discuss it

https://twitter.com/neha/status/678627238833729536

Since LevelDB is still a test branch it is better to discuss this now instead of later. Hopefully crypto_zoidberg and others can comment.

Are you kind of surprised? This guy is the original author of LMDB. Sure thing he promotes it.

On topic post from smooth in the xmr vs bbr chess/ CryptoNote Technical discussion thread:

Monero is testing LMDB
Boolberry is testing LevelDB

What will Aeon use?

Probably LMDB. I had concerns about LMDB not supporting 32 bit but that seems to be getting resolved.

There are some things to like about LevelDB though, and the Bitcoin developers are happy with it. My main criticism is that I've heard it isn't maintained any more, but there are LevelDB forks that are maintained.

If cryptozoidberg does not become more active soon we should think about asking smooth to join the boolberry team (at least to implement his ideas from Aeon). We could raise donations for development bounties and save the 1% miners currently donate to cryptozoidberg.

No explanation required for this move!

How many people in this thread have a FIDE rating? I know we are about to lose our extra pawn but I am impressed that the bitcoin side is doing so well late into the game against a highly rated GM!

Boolberry is far from dead

There is a following

If bigj gets his hard fork, and CZ adds some% of "deferred premine" on top of his, as it is currently, boolberry could target crypto aware market by funding outlets like https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqNCLd2r19wpWWQE6yDLOOQ few times a month or something.

Along creating a market for creating a BBR logo shaped stuff generally  Smiley Stuff like that can not hurt too much in adoption phase, if time-restrected enough i suppose

Sponsorship's like that could be a good idea

Monero testnet can be used experiments. Why so many Monero users spend time on Aeon now?

ADHD

I think I have that!

Anyone here know, or can guess when 0.9 will be released?

My guess is some time in 2016.

When it is ready it will be released. Would you rush Picasso to finish a painting if he were alive today?

I like the idea of trading queens and trying to draw the endgame.

30.Qxe5 Qg6
31.Rc6 Re8
32.Qxe8+ Nxe8
33.Rxg6+ hxg6

Both 34.Bc4 and 34.g4 should give white a small advantage but I think we have excellent chances to draw.

put a sell order for 300anc at 0.00033000 on ExchangeD.I2P

hopefully someone picks it up Smiley

That price is higher than at other exchanges. Why would anyone want to pay you .00033BTC for each ANC? Last time I checked you were still missing the experienced C++ coder you needed to work on ANC code.

If we play Nd7 or Ne8 instead then Qe7 looks really bad for us. Since we can't move our knight we must defend it.

Can someone explain in simple terms the pros and cons of LevelDB vs LMDB for use with CryptoNote?

Monero is testing LMDB
Boolberry is testing LevelDB

What will Aeon use?

Nice to see the technology discussed without the thread being deleted. If we want it to stay that way make sure the conversation remains about the technology and not Monero by name as best you can.

Thank you for sharing the thread!

Well i have some ideas, for example

  • Give some BBR for retweet about the advantages of the coin and how to get it
  • Make a championship of some actual and trending videogame with bounties in BBR
  • Pay to some blogs and news cryptocurrency sites for do a article about BBR
    • Make a online gymkana paying in BBR
i am sure other members of community can add more ideas to the list

popboolr should help with some of those ideas. Damashup said he would be busy for a while but I am sure he would appreciate any help offered[/list]

On the subject of logos, here is my latest offering.

A better shade of blue coupled with a modern better graphic. Simple, universal and powerful.

This is the direction we should be headed.

Nice--the design elements are still there, but it doesn't hit you over the head with them.

This (in general)

Simple yet elegant. Nice design.

Aeoncurrency (https://twitter.com/aeoncurrency) is not the official account, Aeoncoin is (https://twitter.com/AeonCoin). I am not sure why someone (perhaps a community member) started a second, similiar looking, account. Doesn't do any good in my opinion. Why not just use a nickname instead of an official looking name?

I would argue that there is no "official" account for any cryptocurrency. If there was it would not be truly decentralized. With nobody "in charge" the more people talking about a currency the better.

I agree that the logo should not be changed until the community votes to approve it. Perhaps the goal of this person is to hurry up the voting process since the logo discussion has already been happening for a long time.
