If 17.h4 Qg7 18.Qg5 f6 Then if we ever play h5 black can close the position with g5. Lets trade our bad bishop.

BBR markets frozen while we investigate issues with the network.

Now's the time to fire up a bbr daemon, run a miner, and support the network.

Daemon will not sync, no solo mining.

Did you try these priority nodes?

Start the daemon with the --add-priority-node argument and use these peers:

It was 3rd before being frozen on Poloniex I think. What is the status of the network now?
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Monero Economy Workgroup - The MEW Thread on: February 01, 2016, 10:22:44 PM

However I have good news for everybody concerned: If David does not promptly return the correspondence, his CK character worth ~15,000 XMR will be frozen and necessary funds liquidated from that one to fulfill the MEW resolution that seems to pass. Smiley

This is the most disturbing statement I have ever read about CK and it has nothing to do with David.  I am deeply concerned that rpietila as "king" or anyone would have the ability to independently freeze and liquidate assets of a CK player.

Monero prides itself on decentralization and the absence of 3rd party control over assets.  The statement above (which some may say is no longer relevant since David has responded) has caused me to lose some trust in CK.

Please do not call me a troll because I have supported Monero for a long time.

My goal is not to sounds negative. If the problem is technical then a committee should be formed to make decisions on freezing or liquidating funds. That much power should never reside in 1 person.

Cloakcoin awaiting posa 3 ! This will be something real new as i understood from white paper.. Beta test was successful and code was audited ..
Maybe cloak have opportunity to surprise us all?

I bet it will!

In 2014 there was a low of hope for PoSA 2 and CLOAK failed miserably to deliver on its promises.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry Speculation on: February 01, 2016, 09:58:33 PM
What caused the BBR spike today? With the lower hash rate and block explorer issues recently, the opposite might have been more expected. How do you explain this?

What does the community think about moving to a new unmoderated thread which we can control and keep updated?

Lets give him another week or two to see how his new project will help Boolberry. He will have a much easier time raising money for the new project if it is clear he has not abandoned Boolberry. He has an incentive to remain active here.

Here is thread for discussion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=887482

PS About Boolberry: In any case Boolbery is my primary project, and since both this projects based on the same code base - it will be win-win for both of this project from technology point of view. ATM scruffy is working on BBR new wallet version since i want to have second developer who familiar with BBR code, so this took more time that i expected, but this is need for project safety, a lot of people were talked about it before in this thread.

Zoidberg

He says it is close to being ready for alpha:

Hi!
Yep, we fix some small bugs and improve some elements of design.
PoS-minig works! Alpha is ready for 95%
We can make it public for you.
Do you guys want to test it ?

What reason do you have for making another alt coin?

If it is a good reason, try to think of a unique name that relates to the purpose of the coin.

If there are any test results of the great work done by NobleSir it would be nice if they could be shared here. What type of peer review should be expected?

https://github.com/ShenNoether/RingCT

If I recall correctly it has also been submitted to the ledger journal (http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-peer-reviewed-academic-journal-ledger-launches/), so it will get peer review from that.

Publication in an academic journal should bring lots of attention. If the peer review proves successful perhaps more contributors will be attracted to this CryptoNote/Confidential Transactions project.

97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Zcash? on: January 27, 2016, 09:56:12 PM
Also I remember hearing about an anonymisation technique in which you have to trust the person who generated the first block to destroy the private key without writing it down, otherwise they have the ability to decrypt the anonymisation forever after. Is this using that technique ? If so why trust they don't have the backdoor key handy ?

Your memory is only partially right. There is a potential problem with trusted setup. They have said they play to do this in some public ceremony with multiple parties so that unless ALL of those parties collude, the minting process is safe.

If all parties colluded they could print a unlimited number of coins undetected, however the privacy of transactions would not be affected. Essentially it is an economic threat of a poorly designed setup allowing parties to collude to print unlimited coins. There is not a privacy threat from collusion.

Outside this forum very few people have any clue what the heck is a Ring Confidential Transaction, however everybody knows what's a Soda Vending Machine Smiley

We are not talking about "a Soda Vending Machine" we are talking about the "Dash N’ Drink" soda machine.

How many people have a key to the storage locker (or garage) where it has been stored since it was displayed in Miami?

The entire world (if they have internet access) can see and test the Ring CT code in GitHub right now!
