82  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: A unique way to get 0.01 btc on: May 04, 2016, 01:11:19 PM
By means of gift, participants can choose a name of a fellow participant. The participant with the most votes will get the BTC0.01.

Where does the prize money come from ?
From the participants themselves. To be able to play you need to buy credits which are used to enter the contest.

So let me get this straight, to play I have to buy credit with my own money which I earned by working vigorously for hours and hours and then choose someone else for to win the prize/gift/what-ever-you-want-to-call-it ? I'll pass, thanks.  Grin

Hoax or not, this is definitely attracting everyone's attention. Btw, If any coins get moved, will it really prove that he is satoshi? Which address(es) are known to be his?

Oh.. and where can I nominate my address to be the receiver of the satoshi coins  Cheesy? Or will they again be moved to one of Gavin's address?
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: May 02, 2016, 12:22:05 PM
Personally I don't like them because they are purely based on luck. No skill involved in winning... or losing.

Isn't that same with all of the gambling? even if you're betting on sports or playing poker, they're still based on luck. If gambling was based on skill, then many people will win and the house would go broke.

And to answer OP's question, I do like slots, but the online ones just eat too much money too fast, the slots usually should have pocket-change inputs to spin the reels and huge prizes but I think the online casinos charge too much/per spin.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: May 02, 2016, 11:18:07 AM
I would work hard, try to find more jobs, maybe sell some things which I can live without, make safer/more likely to win straight sports bets instead of parlays, which I usually don't do as they don't offer good odds but they are far more likely to win. And last but not the least, ask for help from my friends and family. Depends on the situation though, like how desperate it is.

The Mandarin: What? Like an understudy? No, absolutely not.

Download and install the latest version of the electrum and try to make the same transaction again, it should work. Don't have to create a new wallet, the old wallet will be selected by default which I think already contains the key with the coins that you imported.

I just wish someone could tell me why this is the only thread I can't

1) quote to reply

2) when put on watchlist actually show up on my watchlist

3) when I post a message here on reply (can do that) it DOES NOT show up as a post in my post history under profile

er ...the other problems by the OP were fixed..ie got paid...ie got caught up on lost posts and paid

just annoying the above is all Smiley

pm to OP also in that unsure anyone sees these posts with the flakiness

Can you go to your "Profile>Ignore Boards Preferences" and check if the "Services" board is ticked or not? If it is, then just untick it and click "change profile" at the bottom.

Weird thing is the version 2.6.2 is free from malleability attack but you say it still showed double spend, and afaik that doesn't happen on its own.

“While more users are coming online in in these countries, traditional payment options like credit cards often aren’t available.”
Even where it is available, a lot of users still feel a little hesitant/vulnerable in using credit cards generally is my observation, whereas bitcoin makes it so much easier to buy stuff online without having to be worried about exposing your sensitive information. Great news this.

96  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Set up 2FA on a wallet restored on: April 29, 2016, 01:38:22 PM
Hello Electrum people Smiley

I restored seed of my electrum wallet due to 2FA lost

I have tried to set up 2FA again but it says that "is impossible due this wallet is a restored one"

So, am i not able to use 2fa again?
I don't use 2fa, so can't say what is a perfect solution for this but a workaround is, if it is not letting you set up 2fa on this wallet, then just make a new wallet with 2fa and transfer your coins there.

Note: Do keep backup of the old wallet and the seed in case you need it in future. You can find your wallet file here:

97  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help - Electrum wallet just seemingly stopped updating, but is synched.. on: April 29, 2016, 01:27:39 PM
I sent a 0.01 btc transaction with a bit under 8500 sat fee, for vip on a faucet site
Since sending this transaction, my electrum won't confirm the transaction or send/receive new ones.

My wallet looks like this now: https://snag.gy/KBJlL9.jpg

And when opening the 0.01 transaction, initially I got a message from blockchain saying the fee was too small, and now when I look it talks about double spending and to be wary of me, I'm just a harmless faucet collector Sad

Any idea whats going on? How can I fix this?
Your wallet looks like had too many small inputs from the faucet collection as you mentioned and due to that the size of your transaction(s) must have been big and because of that the required fee would be more than what you say you added.

At this point, all you can do is turn off the electrum, so it stops broadcasting it, keep checking your transaction on block explorer, if it goes through(unlikely) great, if not then it will get dropped as the network forgets about it and the funds will be back in your wallet and then you can re-send them with proper fee this time.

As for the double spend message, which version of the Electrum are you using? I think you're on an older version of Electrum which were prone to "malleability attack", so update to the latest one. And please provide the Tx ID, it'll be easier to find the cause of the issue then.

I have been assigned by my employer to research the requirements of the top cryptocurrency exchangers to exchange currency with. We wish to develop a partnership with other networks. Can anyone tell me Bitcoins requirements? Thank you.
It is hard to understand your question, it would help if you could explain it little more as to what information do you exactly need, but as much as I get from it, you're asking what are trader's requirement for BTC trades? Answer to that is, each exchanger have their own set of requirements and it depends on what currency/medium you want to trade bitcoins with. Sorry if that is not what you were asking.

So if a girl is drunk, you're allowed to stick your dick in her mouth? That doesn't sounds right. Although, in the case mentioned above, it is possible that she did agree to give bj(possibly under the influence) but later denied to escape the embarrassment?
