781  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who here has opened a Gemini account? POLL ADDED on: October 29, 2015, 11:59:11 AM
Voted for others and then saw that it has the most votes. What does it says about the other exchanges on the list? I usually find traders on LBC, that is how I got in touch with my current trader and deal in cash with him. I am not at all ok with providing these exchanges my IDs and stuff.
782  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CryptoThrift Rebrands to bitify and is ready to go mainstream on: October 29, 2015, 11:56:03 AM
I like the new name. I hope that the website will attract more buyers and sellers.

Really? I don't. Cryptothrift was more catchy I think and I don't know why the name change was required to go mainstream. But good luck to you guys and I think you need to advertise more on this forum and social media, a lot of users are still not aware of your site.
783  Economy / Gambling / Re: ALL TENNIS BETS on: October 28, 2015, 02:13:19 PM
All players are playing like idiots, I am losing my bets left and right, no matter who I choose or how much reliable the player is, the problem is I don't play odds lower than 1.50 and I think those are the safest bets. Chardy won the 1st 6-3 against badene and lost the 2nd like a fool 2-6, what a douchebag.

There is not such thing as "safe oods". Bookies have traders whom makes those odds. And they are not newbies. They make these lines to make money.
Bookies have biggest margin and advantage om those low 1.1-1.2 odds.
That's why my average odds >2.1.

Yeah but still if you keep playing the favorites atleast you won't end up in  a loss, you might not make something but you'll always get your investment back. I also think the way these players play in grand slams is completely different from when they play smaller tournaments, it's as if they're not that focused in those.

My picks for today:

Muguruza vs Kerber
Angelique Kerber @ 3

Pospisil v Al Bedene
Aljaz Bedene @ 2.84

Play these at your own risk.  Cheesy

Kerber looks really nice, probably i'll use ur pick hehe

Both of them already lost mate, be happy you were late to notice lol.
784  Economy / Gambling / Re: What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘gambling’? on: October 28, 2015, 01:35:14 PM
When you here word gambling then immediately what comes to your mind,

is it you can become rich easily? or

today you can have some fun? or

today you can make lose some money? or

Any other things?

What does it matters what comes to anybody's mind when they think of something? What's even the point of this discussion??
785  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum stopped loading on linux system on: October 28, 2015, 01:18:48 PM
If he's using the version which is in Ubuntu repositories then I think he's on 1.9.8 and I have that version too in one of my linux machines and I have no problems loading it up.

BTW thomas, I replied on github, sorry I was not able to respond earlier.
786  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info wallet issues today on: October 28, 2015, 01:01:01 PM
They were under maintenance yesterday the entire day, so I guess they haven't maintained it very well since there are about 10 threads about problems with blockchain.info today.

You need to contact them. I am sure they will sort it out sooner than later but their wallet is going to work about few days and then it will start malfunctioning again.

You need to change your wallet and forget about blockchain.info, the wallet and block explorer.

It amazes me to see still so many users still using blockchain.info wallet, I just hope that they're doing it for small amount of funds and are taking backup after everytime they make new addresses. But I still use their block explorer, when there are not having trouble, it is still the fastest and most visually appealing block explorer for me. I have used others as well but haven't find anything simpler than it.
787  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any sites that play board games for Bitcoins on: October 28, 2015, 12:52:58 PM
Board games are not great for gambling since people use advanced bots and what not to cheat, take online chess for example, be it chess.com or FICS, they're filled with cheats and which is why people will never put money on online board games because if cheaters know that there is a chance to win BTC, they'll put extra effort to make unbeatable engines.
788  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to fight with viruses, malware and trojan in your PC - share your knowledge on: October 28, 2015, 12:47:09 PM
1) Buy a new computer

791  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: October 27, 2015, 12:39:31 PM
Whatever you do, just make sure to buy before the halving. Most likely it will be higher than what it is now if all else is the same but the supply generated is cut in half.

I think that the price will be increased after the halving period,
But saying the truth it is just too little to except a huge profit from only 1BTC
I would not consider it as a long term investment but as a short investment.

people invest what they can afford. 1 btc right now doesn't seem that much, but we can surely expect it to rise significantly the comming years.

Did you guys read the news about Bitcoin being accepted by the European union as a currency and there will be no tax on it when you buy, it's a pretty good news and I think it's a start of other good things waiting to happen to bitcoin. And if you buy now, like now now, imho you will profit from it.
792  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I trust BTC exchanges? on: October 27, 2015, 12:35:36 PM
You can believe: btc-e, bittrex, cryptsy.

Well i wouldn't so sure about believing these exchanges.
For example we can see here that there are many accusation about cryptsy.
Where they block/disable their users accounts, isn't this the worst situation about trusting or not the exchanges!

It is and you just can't, if you must use one then just go there do your thing and get out and hope that nothing happens for the time you're there, as short as it might be. I don't truly believe the exchanges who were so called got "hacked" in the past, I think it was all a cover up, it was a perfect crime, wait for the moment when there are a lot of public funds and then bam! go offline abruptly with a story that one of our employees did this this.. and we were hacked. And since there are no legal tie ups, sell the bitcoins slowly and then start again.

Nadal has found some form of late but is still nowhere near the dominant Nadal we had become accustomed to over the last decade or so. His last match was a few weeks ago where he lost to Tsonga in the SF of Shanghai.

yes he is picking up his form .. Lets hope today he can do well against rosol .. I really wish to see the old Nadal ..

Yeah, he used to be a firce opponent but now you can't really trust him, especially against the bigger players but I think he'll have not much problems against rosol. I was expecting him to defeat Tsonga in SFs but he couldn't.

BTW Sock got done in 2. Disappointed. Embarrassed
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TOTO- PARLAY on: October 26, 2015, 12:59:38 PM
I normally bet on Cricket and Tennis and if I am sure of certain events I include them all in one, I have so far won parlays to upto 8 events but you're right tennis is easier for the toto bets unless ofcourse there are some upsets which seems to be happennig a lot now-a-days.
796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BIG EVENT] BITCOIN IS NOW A LEGAL PAYMENT METHOD AND A CURRENCY IN THE EU !!!!! on: October 26, 2015, 12:46:44 PM

well yes it's legal, because saying that bitcoin is vat-free, mean that it is regulated, or begin to be regulated, so you can use it, freerly

I am a long term HODLER, I've barely ever spent any of my bitcoin's apart from small amounts I receive in signature campaigns.....

Can I just get this right please somebody.....Bitcoin sales in the EU are now exempt from tax? So if I sell bitcoin's in a cash, face to face transaction I pay no tax?

Read this: http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2015/10/22/eu-rules-bitcoin-is-a-currency-not-a-commodity-virtually/

Virtual currency bitcoin took another step toward legitimacy Thursday, when Europe’s top court ruled that it must be treated like a currency—not a commodity—for tax purposes.

The European Union’s Court of Justice ruled that bitcoin exchanges that transfer conventional currencies such as euros or Swedish krona into bitcoin for a fee are exempt from value-added taxes because of EU rules barring such taxes on transfers of “currency, bank notes and coins used as legal tender.”

--

This is such a positive step for Bitcoin's golden future, buy all while you still can because this will make the price skyrocket. If you buy now, you might still be considered an early adopter. Cheesy

Not too sure about this but Jack Sock played very well against gasquet and although it looks like berdych will defeat him in the match but I am hoping that Sock will be able to capture atleast 1 set and therefore, this is worth playing some little bets:

Game: Berdych vs Sock
Number of Sets
Three Sets @ 2.3

798  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I'll give you money for your ideas! on: October 25, 2015, 01:18:38 PM
I have a great idea about a business related to Bitcoin but if I tell you then there is nothing stopping you from implementing it by yourself since I am assuming you have funds and I won't be able to do anything about that because there is no copyright with ideas. So I'll pass and wait till I have the funds to buy some developers and have them do it for me.
799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 25, 2015, 01:12:38 PM
Well the bottom line is that the South Africans outdid Indians today and they have won the ODI series as well, the match is already over as far as I am concerned and  I am glad I didn't bet anything on Indians. I was waiting for a chance to bet on South Africa live but they never gave any chance.

Which is the next T20/ODI series worth betting?? Because I don't bet on Test Matches.
800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a BIP38 secured paper wallet safe? on: October 24, 2015, 04:23:23 PM
If you can make a good strong passphrase and remember it then yes, it's great for cold storage as even if someone gets hold of your cold wallet they won't be able to access your funds without the password but as you mentioned you have to get it laminated and keep it in a safe place to protect it from decaying.
