1421  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The latest Avalon announcement in China(Translated). Batch #3, price and more. on: March 21, 2013, 10:06:16 PM
I propose we continue this thread in Haiku form only

Bitcoin price crashes
Batch 3 people are saddest
It all starts again.
1422  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL or Avalon on: March 13, 2013, 03:09:39 PM
To the OP:
Buy Avalon if you want an ASIC mining device.
Buy BFL if you want to want an ASIC mining device.
1423  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Vote: Do you think Butterfly Labs will deliver their ASICs this month? on: February 13, 2013, 02:38:57 AM
If BFL ever ships, this poll will evaluate to true. Because that month will be "this month" when they ship.
If they ever do ship, I will necro this thread and find an appropriate picture of a cat.
1424  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I see no sudden increase in total network hashrate. on: February 02, 2013, 12:03:11 AM
I prefer the graph for the last 3 months:

Follow the purple line.
Why did you shrink the img, without making it clickable? Then we can't see it.

Edit: But I do agree with you. We're almost to where we were before the reward half. Yay ASICs!

I should have provide a link for the image, but my brain farted.
I was just showing a graph of the same time period without a massive spike in hash rate.
1425  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I see no sudden increase in total network hashrate. on: February 01, 2013, 05:32:55 PM

One day, ASICs will be here. That will be the day that ASICs arrive.
The end.

True story.
1427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A foundation with 80% of the coins can never work. on: January 17, 2013, 11:39:10 PM
Did someone say Solidcoin?

I thought I felt a disturbance in the hash fabric of the universe!  Kiss
1428  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: A Better Consipiracy Theory and ASICs on: January 17, 2013, 10:10:13 PM
mobodick you pretty much nailed it.  Smiley
This is also the only real possibility for ASICs to be real, that they are using a retail product (an existing SHA-256 ASIC)

Well, for the record, here's:

A picture of it:
http://www.butterflylabs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/jalapeno-2.jpg (too big to embed)

Another picture of it:

and another picture of it:
http://www.anonmgur.com/up/746d0a6ba54410ec39c8209abd266dc1.jpg (too big to embed)

So I think it's safe to say it exists and they have one.  So anyone saying they'll never ship ever is a moron.  You do realize they've shipped FPGA products in the past.  This is not a new company.  Shipping products way late is also not new for this company, lol.

Give me 100BTC and a month and I promise to supply you with something as convincing as this.

This is a pcb with some parts a few heatsinks but without the ASICs.

I think Desolator got you with that picture. Everyone knows that pictures cannot be modified and then posted on the internets.
Someone would have to make a program to change the picture, and no such program exists. Even if it did, the internet police would arrest them!

And kittens.
1429  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Speculation on bASIC's Change of Ownership before shipping on: January 16, 2013, 09:19:06 PM
Just think about a football game without any rules, officials or even a standard field.
You do realise that footballers self-organise? They voluntarily play under standard rules. They're not forced to play "government football" under penalty of imprisonment. And they're free to invent and play a completely new game if they like.

Our government is self organized.
Footballers are forced to play NFL/NCAA/High School football under penalty of fines and/or expulsion.
Anyone is free to leave the US and try to form a new government on some other playing field, just not this one.

BTC is a place where the sharks eat the AnCappers.
I am a little conflicted about some of these ripoff schemes, given who they are preying upon.
It would probably be for the best if there was less fraud, but there is a huge demand in BTC for fraudulent get rich quick schemes.
Who am I to stand in the way of the free market?  Cool
1430  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 253 BTC Bet that Butterfly Labs will Not Deliver an ASIC Prior to March 1st on: January 13, 2013, 04:51:41 PM
Whoever bet that is a fool.. I suspect it's Mircea Popescu... good luck winning your bet against when you lose, though.  I'm sure he'll force close the bet and negate all bets after we ship so he doesn't lose the 250 BTC.

So whats your ship date again ??

never.

They ship 2 days after a Cleveland franchise wins a championship.
1431  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: A mining-software conspiracy theory on: January 12, 2013, 04:51:09 PM
Bad coders post their mining code.
Good coders post their mining code.
Nitwits run the bad code.

There is a healthy supply of both bad coders and nitwits on this planet, therefore there should be bad mining code run.
1432  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Conspiracy Theory and ASICs on: January 10, 2013, 02:06:47 AM
Countdown till thread move to speculation forum.  Why is there no conspiracy theory forum?

upvoted

There really aren't that many conspiracy threads created that would warrant such a section IMO plus I'd hate to see creating such a section actually promote more stupidity like that.

The lack of a conspiracy theory forum is due to a conspiracy of the mods to cover up conspiracies.
1433  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: There will be no ASICs in January on: January 05, 2013, 12:21:18 AM
Why do these threads always have trolls ...."BFL suck", "bASIC are liars"...etc. Whatever happen to serious and helpful posts?

Who said we weren't serious and helpful?

Okay just for you: RAINBOWS, UNICORNS, FLOWERS, CAREBEARS, CHOCOLATE, LOVE.

That make you feel better? Cheesy

This thread is not about flowers and carebears. You troll.  Tongue

1435  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Absolutely genuine SHA ASIC pictures on: December 12, 2012, 04:53:36 AM
You do know that the VT papers were posted up here and commented on 6 months ago, right? This isn't exactly news that SHA2 ASIC cores are out there in the wild to anyone paying attention.

Yep......, but it seems , just like goldfish some people have short memories.

Goldfish don't have short memories.

Two things you can count on:
ASICs will arrive someday.
People will be scammed by promises of ASICs.

Not necessarily in that order.

P2Pool is accounted for, it's in with the 3rd tier pools.

I don't see it mentioned in anyone's graph.
1438  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 50% hashing power = unknown... are u scared yet? on: November 17, 2012, 05:32:12 PM
p2pool not accounted for?
1439  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is ASIC's a SCAM? on: November 04, 2012, 03:27:19 AM
The OP believes in only the one true ASIC's. Wink

The answer is no. Not all ASIC manufacturers are scammers.

See? There it is again. 's does not make plural, it makes possessive.

Someone is working hard to get their Pendantry Badge to make Eagle Snark.  Grin
