Coinhunter is just mad that his Linode that hosts the private keys for the Soiledcoin tyrant nodes was broken into, but the thief didn't bother to take them.

After all, why steal something that is worthless?  Grin

This too shall pass.

But in the mean time, I am vexed!  Angry
Buy!

Markets can remain irrational for longer than I can remain solvent. Cry
1683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Public appeal to MtGox regarding the recent robberies ! on: March 02, 2012, 05:04:59 AM
Seems like somebody is selling a great deal of coins right now on your market MtGox, giving the rapid price decrease. A few robberies have occurred lately on Linode involving Slush's pool, The Faucet, Bitcoinica and others, so those great amounts of coins could be theirs.

So i'm asking you guys, please, for the community's best interest, provide some public info or investigate on the issue and give those people a chance to recover their money somehow. I know this could damage the profits you could make right now but you will get our appreciation in long term and keep having the nice reputation you have now.

Bad idea. Making the info public would spook the fish. Better to discretely monitor the suspicious transactions with meticulous accounting.
An investigation is almost certainly underway.

Maybe the attacker will pull an "Omar" and sell the coins back to him for 40 cents on the dollar.  Shocked

Psy is the Trig of the Soiledcoin sockpuppets.

At least I'm not a frustrated 41 year old single guy who lives in his moms' basement playing computer games all day. Go suck bitchcoinexpress' dick.

No, I won't let you suck mine!

First of all, why would I be frustrated? SoiledCoin is dead. Nobody is mining it. Nobody is trading it. Pretty much everybody on these forums (except you) knows that you backed the wrong horse. We are celebrating by dancing on the corpse of SoiledCoin.

Second, you are worse @ doxxing than you are at picking altcoins. I am the easiest person in the world to find. My wedding is online, I am not 41, and I own my own house. I do play games, but I do so at night.

I think Loup already covered why nobody here wants to have any sort of contact with your penis.

k9queers definition of corpse is something with increasing price. One could relate that to his buying of wives, each one is more expensive than the last and as soon as they get the greencard they leave him.  Grin

Coinhunter with the desperation attack!

P.S. you have to have people buying and selling Soiledcoin in order for it to have a price.

Regrettably, or so your mother mentioned the other day, herpes is not caught "down there", it is a pervasive infection that will stay with you for your entire life and can only be addressed symptomatically, rather than being cured. It is always there, lying in wait for stress, physical exhaustion, or open sores from friction against mucous membranes.

Stress could be brought on from rising to defend your bitchmaster RS/CH/Douchebag too frequently, physical exhaustion from having to sound out the big words in others posts before crafting another of your juvenile retorts, and the friction rubs... well we can leave that to your imagination, but be sure to ask RS/CH/Douchebag for a reach around at the next ShortBusCoin programmers and other really intelligent peoples meeting.

different thread man.

You are right. So this thread is complete nonsense.

Yep, time to close this nonsense thread.

The thread wasn't complete nonsense. I got an avatar out of it!

Remember, mtrlt released to the public the *demo* version, aka slow version. This version was just to prove Scrypt is more efficient on a gpu than it is on a cpu.

Using dishwara's numbers from that screenshot (219kh/s), and an estimated 5870 power consumption of 188w, that makes for 1.16kh/w.
Using data from the litecoin wiki it seems a top of the line cpu gets 25kh/s at 125w, that makes for 0.2kh/w.
Being generous, and assuming the litecoin wiki is out of date, and using poolers latest miner, lets just give the cpu 50kh/s at the same 125w, that is still only 0.4kh/w.

Scrypt is *not* gpu unfriendly.

BTW, the current private version of Reaper is getting over 2kh/w when mining scrypt.

I'd like to see some wattage from the wall numbers paired with the various miners results, along with versions of drivers & miners.

The WAGS being tossed about here suggest somewhere between a 100% - 400% gain for using scrypt on GPU over CPU.

Here is another WAG:
A 5870 boasts 2,720 GFLOPS (and I don't know how many integer calcs/sec)
According to export classification docs @ http://download.intel.com/support/processors/corei7ee/sb/core_i7-900_d_x.pdf
A single core (if I am reading it right) of i7-990x can do 90Gflops. So 4 cores could do 360Gflops for 60% of the power consumption of a 5870.
So FLOP for FLOP a 5870 is about 3-4 times as efficient with FLOPS as a i7-990x system. That dovetails nicely with the reaper miner claims of 3-4 times as efficient on GPU.

Now AFAIK scrypt uses only integer calcs, which means the preceding numbers are not very relevant. But it seems more like scrypt is neutral rather than hostile to one platform or the other. Also, when considering using the GPU for LTC, you need to compare LTC vs BTC mining profit potential. When using CPU, you need only consider doing LTC mining with it since GPU mining for BTC is completely pointless.

I still see no evidence and certainly no proof that Artforz & Coblee created a super efficient miner for LTC.
1693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: artforz and coblee gpu mining litecoin since the start? on: February 29, 2012, 06:49:59 PM
Don't know what you guys are arguing about, but the proof is here. Run it for yourselves, or check out the video someone posted to youtube.

http://solidcoin.info/reaper.html

http://youtu.be/C7jv4uJt-CY

You clearly don't know. The miner you linked was not developed by Artforz and Coblee.
Or are you claiming it was? Did mtrlt steal the code from somewhere?

Coinhunter said Artforz and Coblee were using an efficient GPU miner on LTC, but has no proof of this.

Also, I see you guys are conflating speed with efficiency. Did you measure the wattage used to mine with Reaper? If so, where are the numbers?
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: artforz and coblee gpu mining litecoin since the start? on: February 29, 2012, 04:39:25 PM
I'm claiming it because it seems obvious to me. If I had proof I doubt you would believe me, just like with this miner.

So, we finally get to the root of the issue.
Coinhunter thinks there might be a GPU miner, but has no proof.

I spoke to realsolid on IRC and he confirmed this "RealSolid" account here isn't his. So perhaps the mods should ban the troll.

Edit: And if the SolidCoin folks were not so concerned about hiding their identities there wouldn't an issue.

Premine

Cheesy

All the coins...

I just started my own crypto-currency. I pre-mined 1 billion coins and limited the currency to 1 billion coins total. I sold 1 coin to my neighbor for a dollar. Then each coin was worth 1 dollar, so I was a billionaire! YIPEE!

Then I bought the New Jersey Nets, so I am sad again Sad

It seems every SC thread turns into a lolfest. lolol. <-- See!

Do not taunt the hippos. They will devour you!

1699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many premined coins would YOU like to see in SC 3.0? on: February 27, 2012, 09:34:41 PM
I'm disappointed.  If this novelty account really wanted to channel RealSolid there should've been some jabs at BTC Guild instead of Deepbit.  There were IRC logs showing that the original SolidCoin launch was timed specifically when I'm known to finally clock out for some sleep, that way those "dirty Guild miners" wouldn't pollute the chain for the first few hours of unannounced mining.

4/10 for general trolling, but only a 2/10 for attempting to impersonate RealSolid due to misplaced pool attacks.

Prove that isn't the RealRealSolid.  Grin

RealSolid is the best troll account ever

lol Cheesy
tacotime.

anyways, this thread was originally about how many premined coins SC users would like to see in SC3.I added feedback that certain aspects of SC weren't ok.RS had a chance to work with me on those aspects but instead chose not to.It is his choice if he doesn't work on those issues.I try to be reasonable on this.If anyone else has issues with SC,keep raising them so that RS will take notice.

Also I wish BTC was more accepted so I can grab a taco or a burrito and pay in BTC and that payment takes less than 5 secs (quicker than a debit card).I like 1 click and here's my tacho/burrito in bitcoins.

You are going to bring a mouse to tacobell so you can click on BTCs? THATS CRAZY!
No silly. On my tablet or phone (as there are BTC clients that can store BTC/send/recieve BTC as well). No one ever uses a mouse on the go lol.Get with the times Cheesy

You can't click a tablet or phone, you SWIPE!
