I'm pretty sure most of you here remember what happened with Canada's largest exchange QuadrigaCX and the death of its owner but for those who don't, you can read this article[1]

Netflix has been working on a documentary about this case for quite some time, and we'll finally get to see it. It's coming out on the 30th of March[2][3].

Bitrefill has updated (increased) its limits a few days ago, though I don't see what's the point of having these limits when it's allowed to buy without an account:

You're not really being scammed. I also contacted Exodus support and they confirmed that they are dealing with the exchange you mentioned.

This is actually what all wallet providers with build-in exchanges do actually. They use APIs from third parties such as Changelly, ChangeNow, ShapeShift, SideShift, etc.

It's as explained by the support, when you're using the exchange feature, you become subject to TOS of that third party provider:


Obviously, though, there's no way to know for sure whether they actually detected something suspicious or they're just trying to selectively scam but I have to say, that the amount is pretty big, the transaction would've probably gotten flagged by any other service out there.

Sadly, the only thing you can do at this point is to provide the details they're requesting you to (the proof of funds in this case). Although I do think that Exodus should put a warning for people about the possibility of this happening.

I would also suggest you stop using this feature with such a large amount (regardless of the wallet used). If you don't want to go through the KYC process, use a more reputable CEX like OKX or KuCoin. At least that way, you're aware of your trading limits.

0. There are a few ways to do that[1][2]

1. Good security practices when using desktop/mobile wallets so you don't get your device infected or simply a cold storage wallet.
2. Once the transaction gets a confirmation, there's no way to reverse it.

You should've kept your first question, in case someone else faces the same problem. Anyway, to answer your other questions:

1. You should keep RBF enabled. This will allow you to increase the fees and also cancel your transaction (before it gets confirmed) if needed.

It's worth mentioning that some platforms (like Changelly IIRC) do not accept RBF transactions so it's better to pay enough fees from the start instead of bumping them.

There's nothing to install when using the portable version, you just run the downloaded executable.

Have you tried to check your anti-virus? maybe it got detected as false positive and removed?

I'm not sure which requirements you're referring to? The picture is not showing much. If you're referring to the selfie/video then that's basically what most of the exchanges ask nowadays.

Kucoin is probably the least strict exchange out there. At least from what I've seen.

I've seen a lot of people using the exchange (from unsupported countries) and when caught, Kucoin still allowed them to withdraw their funds. I also had an incident recently where I forgot my trading password and when they asked me to verify my identity in order to reset my password, I refused to. They eventually gave me back access to my account after I provided a few screenshots from my account. It's not guaranteed that it would work, but it's worth trying.

Aside from that, I would advise you to start using non-custodial wallets for storing your funds and P2P (non-KYC) platforms when dealing with fiat.

Have you tried to disable all your extensions (if you have any) and see if that works?

Alternatively, you should be able to access your funds by:

1. Trying to use the mobile app instead of the website.
2. Recovering the wallet in Electrum using your seed

Wirex does require KYC yes. There is this service which you can check out[1]. I'm not sure if they launched yet though, I know that the site is up and running but I haven't tried them, so I can't really vouch for them. Also, and as I mentioned in that topic, I personally think that the cards are quite expensive...

If it's not there, go to the menu "View" > "Show Console":



If the command returns true it means that the address is inside that wallet you're currently using otherwise, it's not.

It's the invoice that can expire and not the address.  Your funds should be there. Is your wallet synced with the servers? Can you see a green circle in the bottom of the app?

Also, try to use the following command in the console and see whether it returns true or false:

I'm not sure if the app you mentioned does that. AFAIK, It's more for tracking your portfolio and earnings.

Which wallet are you using? Electrum gives you the ability to add descriptions to your transactions.

Trezor just pushed a new update (change log[1]), and among the changes is full node support for Electrum server. It was possible to connect to your own node before, but only using Blockbook (Trezor's software).

You just have to go to the Settings > Crypto > Select "Bitcoin" and then choose "Custom Electrum Server":



I haven't tried this yet, but I would like to hear some feedback from anyone who did since this is still a beta feature.

You can use CoinMap for that. Here are the available services in New York[1]. Some services might have gift cards but not support bitcoin directly, so you can use Bitrefill[2]

That's the thing, when using a custodial service, you're not given a wallet with its private keys. They just assigned an address to you, and the funds you see are just 1's and 0's in their database. The hot wallet they were referring to is theirs, the one that processes the customer's withdrawal requests.

- عملة المنصة سبق لها الصعود الى أعلى مستوياتها منذ عام تقريبا، و هي الان في نزول مستمر منذ ذلك التاريخ. أضف الى ذلك كثرة الرموز المتواجدة مع حجم التداول الصغير (الذي يجعلها عرضة لل pump-dump)
