1601  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitfinex Gap $70 Could Be News Coming? on: May 04, 2017, 07:17:39 PM
The gap of Bitfinex is harder to tell than that since each exchange has its own price.

Even reasonably reputable exchanges like Coinbase have ridiculously different prices to Stamp.

It's still shocking how low the premium is though.  I don't think the chances of them coming back is as high as traders seem to think they are.
It's ludicrous that we can't get one single consistent price for bitcoin, that the market is so inefficient.  I realize preev is a composite,  but it still blows my mind that arbitrage opportunities still abound.   If I had money and the cojones, I'd be trying it.  Let's hope bitfinex gets a good bank and gets back on its feet.

We do get more of a consistant price when the market isn't moving like crazy on a daily basis.  All the different qwerks of the exchanges, banks and countries just complicate things. But yeah defo room for profit for arbing.
1602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitfinex Gap $70 Could Be News Coming? on: May 04, 2017, 01:01:18 PM
I assume it means more people with access to Taiwanese bank accounts are piling in. That could reduce the spread with no announcement on the horizon.

I think we are going to hear something today or tomorrow.  The taiwan arbers would eventually pull the spread to zero though given enough time there is only so much USD stuck in finex remember.
1603  Economy / Speculation / Bitfinex Gap $70 Could Be News Coming? on: May 04, 2017, 11:41:55 AM
Bitfinex gap vs stamps $70 could be news coming? i've heard rumors on the grapevine we have an announcement coming soon, could mean some fireworks on price.
1604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will LTC overtake XRP in market cap? on: May 04, 2017, 07:08:34 AM

It was #2 coin for a long time, i dont see why it cant have a short stay around those levels again.  There is much more money in crypto and it went to $50 before with less people/money involved on the pump.
1605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion on: May 02, 2017, 04:20:10 PM

haha class thread i would bet on nobody ruling though i think everyone will be wiped out by the white walkers who will also die off themselves anyway.  After this a new world will emerge without magic much like our current one.
1606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: May 02, 2017, 04:17:00 PM
good result in liverpool , can get win trend again
with win from watford, one ticket champion league have liverpool

Are you kidding? Season is not finished yet, there are still few matches left. Three matches for Liverpool and 4matches for Manchester City & United. Liverpool is above them with 3-4 points gap which is still very possible for those 3 teams to get the champions league ticket.

I think Man city and United have a chance to get the champions league ticket. Liverpool, i don't have any hope on this team. But this is also still in the race. Any team may can get a place in top 3. But the last couple of games is very important for all 3 teams. If any team make a small mistake, it will be very tough for that team.

Only way united will make champions league is through uefa cup now.  They are missing their main man striker and cant rely on rashford being young and rooney's legs have gone.

This is the same story most of us have and know very good  Shocked Grin.

Spending a week to make 0.1 out of faucet and than bust it in a few min. Cry

You are not alone bro!

How you even manage to make 0.1 in a week via a faucet is beyond me, those things takes forever. Defo find some better way to spend your time though.
1608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 29, 2017, 11:31:57 AM
2 bigmatch this weekend can decision who is win in premiere league

Everton Vs Chelsea
chelsea is very dificult win this match, and under presure too, because diference point with hotspur only 4 point, my prediction this match draw

....

Whoever his opponent, Chelsea are required to win all remaining games in the Premier League if they want to get the Premier League title this season, if they only draw against Everton later than the distance of the point difference with the second position in the standings will be thinner, this Which will be Chelsea's concern

There are 5 games left for chelsea and they only need to win 4 of them to win the prem.  If you look at the games they have left the teams are weak so it should be 90% in the bag unless they capitulate.

Last 24 hours gemini now hits top volume stats, is this anything other then they are taking finex customers?
1610  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitfinex Price Spreads & Bitcoin Bubble on: April 28, 2017, 03:32:48 PM

Price difference now under $70, its changing pretty fast last 24 hours. Also gemini exchange volume has gone through the roof anyone know why? or just they are getting all finex customers?
1611  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitfinex?! What the hell!? on: April 28, 2017, 10:47:04 AM
Bitfinex has always come through, so we mostly trust them to come through again. Their problems seem to be rapidly increasing recently though. The hack wasn't very long ago.

The spread is down to $88 today vs stamp. I want to keep an eye on this number as a clue to the health of whats going on. Looks like the arbers are arbing to some degree at least.
1612  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker Players: Promo suggestions on: April 28, 2017, 09:29:11 AM
Good day POKER PLAYERS!

As a poker player what promo/s do you want to see in a new poker website?

Promo that is a win-win for both(players and the site owner)

As a poker player the number 1 thing you want to see is soft games so offering bonus or rakeback usually makes games tighter because people play for the rakeback or bonus.  Promotions should make people more degen so like maybe offer jackpots for winning hands with certain cards etc.
1613  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can MtGox Return? on: April 27, 2017, 12:28:47 PM

Been reading this topic here: https://www.reddit.com/r/mtgoxinsolvency/comments/67uezb/mtgox_currently_has_around_70_of_the_value_of_the/

Maybe they could do a finex style token for the remaining portion of the claims and allow investment into the platform.  Since they fixed everyones btc at like $400 or so and the bitcoin value has gone up, they owe less money % wise to everyone right now.

this could be a great opportunity to restart Exchange business...
but what about trust in MTGox services???
I think the lost of this value, is priceless

I dont think people care much if its new people running a solvent exchange and 2 weeks go by with no problems they will start trading.  Look at how finex recovered with the hack, they got back to #1 pretty quick - ignoring current issues but thats a different matter.

Arsenal won't win. Leicester are a motivated team of late. And having scored atleast 2 goals in the last 3 away games. I'm confident they will either pick a 2-2 draw or win whatever the score

I sincerely hope you are wrong. Arsenal is a team I like very much, at the contrary of Leicester which is owned by an anonymous Thai guy and which fired the great Ranieri. I wish Arsenal to win tonight !

I wanted Leicester to get relegated after the sacking but after they won like 6 games in a row i gave up hating on the owner.  For whatever reason the team stopped playing for ranieri thats something we cant deny.
1616  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitfinex turning into Mt. Gox? on: April 26, 2017, 02:01:15 PM
I hope it won't but to be safe take out your money out of it. There is already a lot of bad calls from this exchange site. It was hacked and now dollar withdrawal problems. There are other exchanges, move your in there and do your trades there. If it suddenly goes gox and your money is in there, there is no one to blame but yourself.

Yes there is nobody to blame if you have money there sure, i have money there and i will take what happens. I had money in gox also but more.  These days i dont keep sums on exchanges that will hurt me in a big way.  I have been keeping up with whats happening though and im like 95% confident everything will be fine.

There must be plenty of Taiwanese customers who can do this, we should be seeing the price gap getting smaller and yet it's not happening?

Well consider all the finex people who have pushed the price into premium with millions and millions of dollars.  Once those millions of the people who want out have dried up then the price will come down.  It was $120 max though so we are already down $20-$30 depending on the time of the day.  I should think we have 1-2 weeks left of the huge huge premium imo.
1618  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitfinex turning into Mt. Gox? on: April 25, 2017, 08:44:08 PM

The premium was up to $120 at its peak. The chief strategy guy of bitfinex said yesterday they will be allowing the 1 time USD withdraws in a week or so which should bring premium down further.  Remember you can still deposit crypto but you cant get fiat in.  If they do the 1 time withdraws confidence will return and i expect some people will take the punt and deposit crypto to sell for a premium.
I can't seem to find anything backing up what you are stating. Mind linking me to that statement?

If people are able to cash out again, whales will make sure the premium is gone in a matter of minutes, because if they don't do so, others will. It's basically the only option for them. Wink

Other than that, it seems highly unlikely that Bitfinex will do so. It's clear that their bank(s) isn't (aren't) willing to do business with them anymore. Bitfinex will only have the opportunity to move their money to a different bank, and that's really it.

If they succeed in that, people will then be able to cash out and deposit fiat again. At least, that's how things normally go in the situation of a bank looking to cut all ties with whatever entity. Either way, I'll be waiting for your link(s).

The guy hangs out at that whalepool teamspeak thing and said in a week or so people will be able to cash out USD via a 1 time type deal.  If you've got a taiwan bank account enjoy making free money on arbs mean time.
1619  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitfinex?! What the hell!? on: April 25, 2017, 03:16:14 PM
I remember that bitfinex was hacked last year and some of the hacker joined this forum and make a 1000 btc giveaway or raffle rather. Looks like Bitfinex didn't learn from their mistakes.

That "hacker" who was pretending to be the bitfinex hacker wasn't giving out anything.  He sent the coins to himself to look big and clever.
1620  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Bitfinex turning into Mt. Gox? on: April 25, 2017, 03:11:57 PM

Sounds like they need to move opperations out of taiwan. What i'm seeing today is the spread between them and stamp is coming down i think we have some good news coming soon.
Spread coming down? It's still more or less $90 in difference. If there is good news incoming, and the price shows a major movement prior to the announcement, it may very well be insider trading.

Right now absolutely nothing indicates a change in the current situation. It's not easy to relocate your operations to a different country as each country has other laws that an exchange must work under.

I won't be surprised to see this situation last for a few more weeks, which will only give traders there more incentive to buy at whatever premium in order to get their funds out of that exchange. Result ~ $1400 incoming.
