1381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: September 06, 2017, 09:03:30 PM
Anyone got their byteballs today? My wallet is not getting fatter Sad
Not sure what went wrong. Are they still distributing?

Got my byteballs already, first time i checked 2 hours ago they were there.  Haven't got the black bytes yet. I did still exchange for BTC though as i feel BTC will out perform most of the alts over the next couple months.  If there is a chance to rebuy lower i may get back in Smiley
1382  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Impact of drinking alcohol. on: September 05, 2017, 01:44:43 PM
Hi guys. Just wanted to know whether drinking is good or bad for our health...first of all i drink every weekend because i feel refreshed after a heavy week of work..  After i drink i take a lot of food and have a nice sleep....I do not have any kind of headache or anything after drinking but will it affect me in the future.... My dad almost drinks everyday right from his childhood may b at the age of 18 but my dad is healthy and strong even after drinking so many years... Thanks to god for that....... Any way,  When it comes to your health, is it better to drink or not to drink?
Drinking alcohol when it is refreshing is enough, but when we consume alcohol it is excessive then you will be very difficult to control.
Will have a devastating impact with you and the environment around you

Yup. Everything has it's limit.
Drinking Alcohol in an controlled way is beneficial.
All other crying about alcohol are extremist.

I drank most of my adult life regularly (not alcoholic or anything, just twice a week for example etc) until the last 2-3 years of my life.  Right now i've probably not even drank for over a year and dont miss it once i started getting in the habit of just not drinking.  You do feel better, cleaner, you think more pure and clear.  You do have more drive and can work harder.  It takes a good few months to get the full effects i found.

I will probalby drink a glass of red wine sometime in future but hopefully wont ever make it a thing in my life again.  If times got tough ever i could see using alcohol to cope for sure.  I'm not against it though, i'm wondering if some high qualifty homemade alcohol could be useful health wise for example.  But yeah, right now i dont miss it and im busy doing other stuff.

If I hold my Byteballs on Bittrex, will I get the Airdrop?

No. Bittrex is keeping them.

Withdraw all your Byteball to your Wallet and link them if you wan't your free blackbytes.

As much as i dont like bittrex right now i dont consider it theft or anything like that if they dont payout the byteball extra 20% (or now its 10% right).  I think they should do customers a favour and payout the 20%/10% etc, they'd get more business and the market would pump more around the full moons.  Basically right now the excitement has been killed off in byteball. The devs should 1.) try and get it on another big exchange and 2.) probably consider slightly bigger payouts. 3.) work on blackbytes also

I note now that GBP pairs can be seen again on the Exchange. When I try to buy Bitcoin at market rate it is grayed out so it appears that you can't however if I was to try and sell Bitcoin it appears that it will give me GBP's. How can this be right if they have disabled deposits for GBP's and you can't trade with GBP's. Anyone got any explanation?Huh

They removed all GBP pairs aswell as many others to try and work on speeding up the performance of the site.  It also has caused me problems i wish they'd have keep GBP or a way to convert it to USD/EURO easy so we can go either way.  I can understand why they might be trying to speed up site performance though its been pretty slow.  Here is a link to blog post with the other pairs they removed:

I can't believe this saga is still ongoing!

The reason why you dont yet have your bitcoin from gox is peter venesses:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKvkV-m6RrI

He is holding up the 200,000 bitcoin payouts with some business claim, the kraken CEO says everything would have been paid out by now if it wasn't for him.  Try to put pressure on him or anyone you know working with him.  Its crazy some kind of agreement cant be made here.
Wow. If true, it's astounding how a single person can put such lengthy and tedious legal procedures on hold. He truly has no merit if the accusations is true to any extent, causing a hold on the funds of so many people is really selfish. Jokes on him though, bitcoin gained so much time in the meantime. Hopefully prices won't fall too much again.

I dont see why the kraken CEO would have much of a reason to lie.  Peter Venesses has being reported as saying he wouldn't be bullied by anon drugs dealers with money caught up in mtgox haha.  So we can gleen from that 1.)Its likely true he is the main cause holding up the gox payouts 2.)he has considered the type of people whos payments he might be holding up.  If we put some pressure on him it could be helpful at this stage.

Any fundamental changed? the dev team seems ok, technology seems ok, I don't get why price is low, there must be something some people know and we dont.
My experience teached me to have faith in promising projects and just hold

Another reason that probaby hasn't helped the price is the bittrex withdraw limits mean you cant sink a ton of money into byteball and withdraw it off in time to get 20% bonus unless you give your identity to bittrex.  Bittrex was by far the biggest market for byteball up to now.

1388  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price and financial crisis/downturn on: September 04, 2017, 09:52:07 AM

Do you think that in case of a major financial crisis like in 2008, bitcoin price will collapse, surge or remain stable?

While bitcoin is the alternative currency it would perform well if there is a mainstream collapse.  Not everything does bad during a downturn.  Areas like gambling do great, people have less work and look for different ways to get money.  Everytime there is bad news in the mainstream economy we get a little spike on the bitcoin price is a little clue for you.
1389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: September 04, 2017, 09:28:47 AM
how many bitcoins are now tied? I think it should be much less than last time

Total linked bitcoins consistently increasing in every distribution round. Expect it will be more than the previous round. However, bitcoin to byte conversion will be drastically limited.

Hmm but this is the first time that people are getting 10% of what they used to.  If there is more it will be only a a small amount more.  The market hasn't recovered this time either like previous times. There wont be many people rushing to dumping this time around either.  I should imagine 10% will create more hodlers.

When withdrawals will be resumed? Everything "currently disabled". I just want to leave

I had that same error just a minute ago but everything seems to be working now. Not sure if a glitch or a update for everyone.

edit: it came back again but my deposit came through, also several glitches on putting a trade order but worked on 4th attempt.
1391  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New BTC-e Holding Company -> Bitfinex? on: September 03, 2017, 05:09:51 PM
I would find this unlikely. They are already a market leader and would not gain much by acquiring btc-e.

I would find it unlikely but if they could acquire for a decent price it might make good business.

What i was wondering is why do they need a takeover in the first place, they already announced customer losses of 45% and they have the remaining funds in coin.  What does new investment provide.
The funds a potential investor would pay for partial ownership of btce would be used to repay their customers.

Yeah but they might just buy up people's debt since they have staed the BTE tokens which represent the debt will be traded. So all they have to do is get people to dump for a low price without having to sell off large part of their company they've worked so hard to build.  Maybe there will be a few small geniune investors who buy up some BTE.

Yes, very slow and not useful exchange. Site interface is very bad and laggy and even now kraken is trying to steal funds from users:
Quote
Below is a list of all trading pairs showing the new allowed number of decimal places for each pair. For example, 1 decimal place will be allowed for bitcoin-USD (XBT/USD), meaning that you can place an order for $4,350.1 but not $4,350.01. Trying to place an order with more decimal places than allowed will result in an error and the order will not be created. If the “%” option is used to specify order price, the result will be truncated (rounded down) to the maximum allowed decimal place.

How is that stealing? you need to check definitions. Its to stop people putting orders of say $4838.001 to beat the $4838 order.
1394  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: i find site similar to bitcointalk on: September 03, 2017, 08:09:35 AM

They are created a lot of topics but very few or no replies to posts. I don't think anyone can replace bitcointalk forum so easily.

No its close to impossible to start a new forum this late in the game and compete. Bitointalk has all the SEO juice over many years.  Attempts to create new forums even with insane resources at disposal like roger ver's r/btc have had mixed sucess.

The closest thing to this forum is r/bitcoin which is ran by same guys but it works fine for me.
1395  Other / Meta / Re: Why have waves announcement thread been locked? on: September 01, 2017, 12:24:40 PM
Look like admin don't like Waves.

No it looks like the rules of the forum were broken with a giveaway in the thread and that is not allowed.  Maybe the waves guys should remove all thread giveaways and contact the mods.  I do see they no longer have their signature campaign running now either so who knows whats going on.

Dude you waste your time on stuff like this, his stuff is filled with all the classic sales tactics ever used.  Look at his list of youtube titles is the giveaway.  If you want to learn how to trade properly just find some people already doing it and hang with them. There are plenty of traders currently who you can get to know and teach yourself for free.  When you buy into these quick fix training courses you are buying the dream that they are selling - they know this and prey on the people who fall for it.  Check out this stream here and join in with these guys where you can learn for free basically: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN37fupcqlo

I have a question for kraken support team member please.  My partner who lives with me wants to open an account and verify themselves. We both will be using kraken for fiat deposits/withdraws via different banks.  We will have the same address and IP address.  Will will both be applied for verification tier 3 on our different accounts (my partner has yet to open account at this stage).  Is there any reason kraken might have any issue with us based purely on 2 accounts with same address coming from same IP address etc?

Thanks

There's no problem with two people using the same IP address. But each of you have to use your own bank account to deposit and withdraw fiat.

Thank you Smiley

1399  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Good wallet to store Bitcoin Cash ? on: August 30, 2017, 08:32:37 PM

With the web wallets of bitcoincash is there an option to just upload your wallet.dat and it automatically will reckognise your bitcoincash?  Is this a good way of doing things or are you guys sending your bcash to a webwallet for storing? idk.

And yes i would have move all my other regular original bitcoin out of the wallet.dat file before doing this.
1400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree that a future where a clone-coin over-takes Bitcoin is not good? on: August 30, 2017, 08:26:24 PM
On 12 July, 2017 Adam Back said: "a future where a clone-coin over-takes Bitcoin is not good, as it damages confidence in store-of-value & even digital scarcity as concept." Do you agree with him?

Yes its basically a solid quote in the respects it damages the digital scarcity. Maybe the words "not good" are a stretch though.  Lets assume in this future the world now uses digital currnecy (crypto) as standard vs government money well then we the people aren't so desperate for fiat to die.  Maybe a new crypto can come along that has better distribution and replace bitcoin at that point.  Maybe the "store of value" which society needs at some point could change.
