A few images that should pretty much make you understand why the banking system is not the solution and bitcoin make the financial part in anyone's life easier.

...snip

Really nice images, I like the first one a lot.
As EU citizen I found SEPA transfer missing but guess it's very same as SWIFT so no big deal.
Only thing I would add is how long each one of them takes. Despite the current mempool size BTC transfer is still faster than SWIFT or WIRE.

SCAM is obvious and I'm sure it's clear to anybody.
All participants should prepare to receive a sh.t.

Mining itself is lottery.
What are you actually offering? Any special prize for the block cracker in addition to deserved share of block reward?

It seems to me you just making another pool.

Must say I'm sitting on the fence about megadice.
I had noticed your accusation some time ago but also can see the bad feedback you've received from reputable members. I loved satoshidice in past but since the ownership transfers my confidence fades.
On the other hand your arguments seems reasonable. Hard to decide.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino investment tracking on: June 30, 2017, 03:12:39 AM
Hi to all gamblers and game investors,

few days ago I start tracking my investments in gambling sites and made some overview to see how my BTC's evolve.
So far I still have to update few things manualy as I'm having issues to get API access (namely for safedice, bitdice, megadice and the only full working APIs at the moment are for crypto-games and bitvest) .

Nevertheless you can visit my site bitcoinr.cz to see the actual progress ( so far in green numbers, Hurray )
Feel free to comment, share opinions, propose new casino to add

UPDATE: Going to add more casino stats. What info you guys prefer?
surly total wagered ... any others? EV, wagered 24h?

Thanks
this is interesting, people who tired to playing gambling and maybe always lose, they can try to invest their assets here, this website very nice, and look complete,i just wonder why you're using domain (.cz) better using general domain for good promotions.

Well, most of the bitcoin related com, net etc. domains were already taken by speculators and I found this one pretty neat.
Is your site performing well? if the amount of visitors are significant then you should probably stick with current domain/TLD. if you wish to change then it doesn't really have to have bitcoin in it, find a domain name that's catchy, easy to remember.

Despite not so much of attractive content there is few returning visitors so I consider the site is performing well.
Finding catchy domain is quite hard task for non-native speaker like me. What sounds catchy to me does not have to be catchy for others.
Bitcoinr can be example. It sounds pretty catchy to me but you would found Bitcoiner sounding much better. Right?

Nevertheless I get used to use bitcoinr as my nick all over the internet so likely going to keep it.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How I made 1 BTC in one night from a gambling website on: June 29, 2017, 07:33:47 PM

I can imagine how you look that morning. Damn, another lousy day  Sad ... have to go to job again Angry ... and BAM 1+ BTC  Shocked ... what a nice day today Cheesy

Good for you

Finally managed to do some small update (found out putting too many chart on single page makes it confusing so I will make separate page to show casino stats later).
Now you can freely move the charts to compare each other.

Nice, you are going very well.

Could you share your leverage levels on each site that has this feature?

Right, I forgot to mention it. Investments are not leveraged (kelly 1).
Updated, thanks.

1051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New miner here!!! KY on: June 28, 2017, 10:03:26 PM
What? You are mining with such el. rates? Muts be TYPO or I don't know. I gave up mining with my local rate around USD 0.2/KWh.
In addition GPUs older than GTX 1060 are incredible ineffective. I doubt you are going to profit at all (use https://whattomine.com to check your chances)

Highly advice you to stop doing this (maybe leave it for winter to heat your house but that time the profit would be even worse).

Crypto-games ( but my vote is more from the investor point of view )

Nevertheless I like they run for a long time without issues and also the design.

1054  Economy / Gambling / Re: Investing in btc casinos on: June 27, 2017, 04:35:20 AM
My investments in btc casinos are either withdrawn early or gambled to zero.
I have very little patience to wait for two months for a 1-2% profit.

All casino investments will take a long time to give you profits. If you can't wait then better don't invest in these casino bankrolls because sometimes you may lose your money in the short term in these casino bankroll investment. But if you can wait for a longer period then it is a good investment option to grow your coins but also remembers to diversify your funds instead just keeping on any one site.

I can't see for even a long term that investing in a casino will give good profit. If does, we must see other people who received decent earnings out of it but I don't see any or even for a few. Since house edge always wins, we can really expect that there's a profit for long term but the question here is how much is that?

Is the profit worth the wait? worth the time? If not, then totally it's a waste of time.

You can check examples at http://en.bitcoinr.cz/page/casinos.php
Not such a great results but e.g crypto-games are doing pretty well.

In most casinos you can speed the profits by leveraging ... but it works also in the opposite way so it should be used carefully.

1056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (silly) beginner question - transfer/mining/fee/cap on: June 26, 2017, 12:52:59 PM
Thanks for all the replies !

In which scenario we could expect lower fees without compromising the speed of the transfer ?

If miners would not be so greedy.  Wink

I think if we ( users ) would start sending less fee transactions, they would include them anyway. So it's also up to us.

BUT

I'm pretty sure they would find a way how to force us to raise the fee again ... e.g. making their own (useless) transactions with higher fee and prioritize them just to keep the fees high.
It's just bussines and I don't like it. It's definitely not the way how Satoshi meant it.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (silly) beginner question - transfer/mining/fee/cap on: June 26, 2017, 12:39:16 PM
I apologise in advance if that was covered in another thread

So far, i understood this about btc:

- the only way to increase the amount of btc is thru mining
- there will only be max of 21b btc
- for every transaction, there is a fee
- for the transaction to be completed, a miner has to mine that block(?) and collect that fee in order to validate the transaction
- therefore, a higher transaction fee has bigger chances to be picked up by a miner to validate and complete the transfer

assuming these premises are true (please correct me if not - im interesting in learning -), how will transactions/transfers work when there is no more btc to be mined ?

Mostly correct.

Just to add.
There will be actually less than 21m (milion) BTC in circulation due to lot of people lost their BTC (private keys) and there is no way to recover them.

Yes, to validate tx miner has to include it in block. Indeed. The fee is just bonus (currently miner gets 12.5 BTC reward for finding a block ... this is the main reason why they are mining)

You can send tx without fee but risking it will never get confirmed.

Once all BTC will be mined ( somewhere around year 2140 )  miners will collect only the fees ( no reward for mining the block itself anymore ).
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Private key and stealing Bitcoins on: June 26, 2017, 12:11:01 PM
Private keys are your access to your bitcoins. Who ever knows your private keys(also known as seed) controls your bitcoins. It is not advised to share your private key with anyone. Also you should not keep it online, rather make a paper wallet or buy a hardware wallet like Nano-S or Trezor. Stay safe!

Thank you for your information .

And what about Electrum , is that safe to use that ?

Electrum is quiet safe as the private keys (seed) is generated on your mahine only. You need to keep the seed safe and you can access your funds anytime you want. Plus you can go for a watch only wallet with electrum, keeping your private keys safe. Hope this helps.

What is watch only wallet ?

Second question : Can I create and use a password to access my wallet in Electrum ?

Watch only is same as read only. You'll be able to see all the addresses within the wallet but unable to spend those bitcoins.

And yes you can. Electrum supports pass protection. You need the pass to be able to send BTC  ... without pass it's just read only (watch only) wallet

Thank you for info. And please can you give some more info about watch only option .

And , I have second question : even if I use password protection in Electrum wallet , then someone knowing my private key can steal my BTC even if that person does not know the password ?

Watch wallet is used to monitor balances and incoming payments.
You can use this wallet on unsafe devices like shared computer in your job or your friends device (no reason to do that, just example) and still be safe.
Anybody who get access to the wallet will see all addresses and their balances but would not be able to spend those BTC.

And Yes.
Person knowing your private key is able to send out bitcoins stored in the respective address (not entire wallet).
Wallet is just tool to help you manage multiple addresses (each address has it's own private key).
The password simply protects entire wallet but once the prv. key is disclosed you should never use that address.

Some example.
In past I had very small amout BTC in one of my addresses and wanted to give them to my friend. Instead sending them ( which would cost half of the balance on fees) I rather decide to give him the private key and he imported this address to his wallet. So now we both have controll over this address (and can spend those BTC).

Is there anyway to Push for the Blockchain to Confirm a Transaction Faster ?

Regards
Yes, just increase transaction fee.
Miners are greedy and they are mining for profit so they will fight among themselfs to take your transaction first because it have big fee to claim Smiley simple as that.

You can't add fee for a transaction that already have been sent.

You can if you enabled replace-by-fee function (it must be enabled before tx sending).
1060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Is there anyway to Push for the Blockchain to Confirm a Transaction Faster ? on: June 25, 2017, 11:18:40 PM
....
Prevention is better than cure, ....

Correct. Before sending tx I always check number of unconfrmed transactions (mempool) and set the fee accordingly.
Two days ago my 9 sat/byte fee was confirmed within 15 minutes ( there was only 5000 unconfirmed transactions at the moment).

BTT: via accelerator which is for free was already mentioned but there is also paid accelerator at https://pushtx.btc.com
