941  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Objective and thorough analysis of upcoming ICOs - newbie friendly on: September 26, 2017, 02:11:31 PM
Looks nice. Are you focusing to specific ICO types? Because I can't find any casinos ICOs (like moneypot, betstreak) in yourlist.

MyEtherWallet is probably your best bet  Cool

for sure, and as extra security can be linked with ledger nano.
943  Economy / Gambling / Re: Are there any whales left out there? on: September 26, 2017, 12:24:04 AM
Are there any players that wager more than 10-20 bitcoin a day? I want to chat. I wagered over 165 Bitcoin last week on CoinPro.fit alone.

First time I'm seeing publicly announced whale. Weird. I would say most of these species lives hidden in seclusion and anonymity ... guess it will be hard to find any others.
(if you don't just give me some of your BTC so I become a whale and definitely will have a chat with you).

I see you are CoinPro.fit admin so your aim is obvious and it also makes sense why you are willing to wager so much.
944  Economy / Reputation / Re: ! NEW USERS BEWARE "Reputable" forum members deceiving, stealing and harassment. on: September 25, 2017, 11:40:25 PM
Those "feedbacks" are called "untrusted" and are hidden by default for a reason: THEY SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED.

If you really check those feedbacks instead of just spreading nonsense, you would see that all of them are comming from scammers/spammers that got tagged by Lauda/Vod and now are retaliating with false feedbacks. You probably did the same, which is the reason why you made this post.

They have 20x more negative comments than positive yet you tell us not to trust those? lol

"Probably" is the best thing you could of said huh

Yea but thing is in most cases they just revealed other users scam practice (or became pain in the ass in other ways) and such feedback is just sort of revenge.
But they actually never stole any funds from anybody. Which is what I consider the trust system is here for  ... to mark the real fund stealing scammers rather than just people who argue to much.
945  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to store your FIAT properly off the exchanges? on: September 25, 2017, 09:57:34 PM
I would never trust a significant amount to USDT. It's not USD, there is no guarantee it's going to be worth anything tomorrow.

If I was a relatively active trader I couldn't afford to remove my USD from an exchange. It takes days to move around.

Assuming you're in the right area exchanges like Gemini have banking charters so your funds are protected by full bank insurance up to a certain amount even if they themselves go tits up. That's about as safe as it gets.

Actually I think storing fiat on exchange is safer than storing cryptos.

IMO hackers aim to stealing cryptos mainly.
In case of hack the stolen crypto is transafed out and as txs are ireversible there is no chance for exchnage to get it back. Contrary the fiat which can be tracked and/or canceled by authorities.
Moreover I believe any proper exchange dealing with fiats has to be somehow insured (for fiat losses ).

So to your question I would keep stored fiat rather than converting to USDT.

You're forgetting one rather large thing which is the most common form of hack is your account details being compromised. The hacker then uses your stored fiat to buy all the crypto they want and it's all gone forever.

The only time your fiat is safe in a hack is when the exchange itself is breached which is a much, much rarer occurrence.

You need to 2FA everything including email and make sure your 2FA isn't via mobile phone as that's far too easy to hijack.

Sure ... we can define a lot ways to hack ... hacking certain "wallet implementation" (more or less what I was talking about), hacking individual account ( in which case no matter what curency you stored .. it's all gone), hacked complete exchange security (also no matter at all .... it's gone as well).

I still consider my point valid because if you have a fiat stored in you are scared of 2 of those 3 things I mentioned ... thus it's safer.

Nevertheless non of us answered OPs question so I would sum it like this.
It's up to you to decide whether undergo the risk of losing it or sacrifice some time and fees for transferring your funds to safer place.

948  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What counts as a Post? on: September 25, 2017, 05:56:18 PM
What is post? You just made one  Grin  .... any of your reply to any thread or making your own thread is a post.
So one post daily will raise your activity (and rank) in max speed (14 every two weeks).
949  Other / Meta / Re: how does my post count as activity on: September 25, 2017, 11:50:45 AM
Thank you for your information about the activity. I Have found an Excel where the Activity Update Accurs the next time is 29. September 18:20 Forum Time

Thats wrong. I'm pretty sure the activity rises on Tuesday (maybe Wednesday).

EDIT: check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0
950  Other / Meta / Re: how does my post count as activity on: September 25, 2017, 11:42:15 AM
But if you joined 3x [two weeks] ago and have activity 42 but you have posted 100 times... then all that you need to do in the next two week block is post once more, and then your activity will increase to 56. It's all explained in the link I shared, and that is where I learned about activity.

I think the calculation is well thought out, and it prevents someone just joining and posting 1000 times in a day and instantly becoming legendary even though they're new.

What of if I have post more than 14 times that two weeks, will my post that is not yet counted as activity be counted after that two weeks automatically. Or I will need to post fresh for the new two weeks

Excessive posts which were not converted to activity are shifted to next period. So making 28 posts (and leaving forum for 4 weeks) results in same as 4 weeks daily posting.
951  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Reporting C-CEX Exchange on: September 25, 2017, 10:55:43 AM
To report scam you should create scam accusation thread in relevant board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 (watch stickies for proper format).

You can also mention your sitiation in c-cex ann thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=418700.0 (they might feel unpleasant about such bad advertising and could be willing to help you quickly)

958  Economy / Exchanges / Re: exchange fees on: September 21, 2017, 06:36:36 AM
I am looking to buy bitcoin from a local exchange that normally deals in gold bullion etc. They will print a hard copy paper wallet from an offline computer and provide a usb stick digital back up of the keys.

The fees they charge for this service are 5% - is that a reasonable fee?

Any thoughts appreciated - thanks!

Similar fees you get when do CC purchase so yes it's it reasonnable fee when considering their main aim in gold deals.

I have doubts about the hard copy paper wallet and USB backup. Would it be the only existing backup or they will keep their own ...? Why do it this way? There is high chance of private key leak.
You should immediately transfer btc to new wallet.
959  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Most secure wallet for Bitcoin? on: September 20, 2017, 08:09:09 PM
Looked up the Ledger Nano S, it's about $97 US shipped.

and one month waiting period ...  that just reflects the quality  Wink
but reconsider your investment. If you are not hodling signinficant coin amounts you'll be very conficent with standard desktop wallet like electrum.
960  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Most secure wallet for Bitcoin? on: September 20, 2017, 06:34:53 PM
What wallet you trust to put all of your bitcoins (or if you use another currency too)?

Does it have high fees?

Do you care about fees or almost never move that coins?

Thx

I consider ledger or any other HW wallets (trezor, keepkey ..) as most secure.

Fee size has nothing to do with wallet ...  it depends on current network situation (variates for each coin). Few months ago I cared a lot about fees but now the situation is much better so not paying attention much.
