Do you have a bootstrap?
I think with the new update coming out in a few days, the bootstrap is no longer necessary. V1.2 was tested on 3 PCs that have never seen a crypto wallet before on Windows and it loaded the entire blockchain in about and hour and ten minutes or less on all of them. It makes sense then, to not really worry about bootstrapping. Happening that quickly does not seem like an issue at all, and a lot simpler than downloading, unzipping, replacing files in the directory, etc... |

EGC is losing its value and gradually going to end of the list.
why don't developers do something about it
to save it
If you look at the charts for the last year, you can see that EGC has steadily gone up. It's had dips here and there like all cryptos, but about 10x value seems pretty good to me :-) We have one of the most active devs out there, who can help create the tools to use the currency (such as a brand new wallet), but can't control the price, which is up to those using it. |

Is that proprietary to a certain device?

How does one generate a bootstrap from an existing local blockchain? (Mine isn't updated yet.)
I do not know exactly. I sent a request to one of our developer experts to ask him if that is possible already. I believe that having a bootstrap is an EXCELLENT idea. Is there some way that the GUN community can get involved (such as maybe a BTC donation address) to help cover expenses to make that happen? Yeah...I know I mentioned BTC, but our GUN isn't quite viable enough yet to directly pay developers, and selling GUN to cover costs at this time seems counterproductive. Someday........ |

Claiming something of the sort that there has been suspicious activity, so wallet locked, check in with a link (which I am sure will be phishing for info).
Be careful where you click, and if one ever really wants to check, log in at Blockchain.
And if one really wants to part with their BTC, I would gladly accept some. LOL

Yes, agreed. We do have some changes coming up regarding the coin. We may have 2-4 upgrades over the next few months if all goes according to plan. So please watch for new releases - we will make sure the exchanges and the pools know about them in advance. The first upgrades will primarily focus on upgrading the coin to make it equal to or better than current cryptocurrency technology, perhaps a step above in some areas. Additionally, while coin technology has improved significantly in the past 2 years, so has the bad guys ability to disrupt things. We are taking all those things in to account with the initial upcoming upgrade. In other words, moving forward, we want our users and miners to be comfortable that we have a current, stable safe and secure coin. We have survived just fine for 3 years and the time has come to move forward with something even better. We appreciate your support.
While I do not want to go into details yet, work is underway as I write this on phase 1 of our upgrades. One thing to change for sure, is embedding a couple of reliable seed nodes into things, so they do not have to be added all the time. While this is a very minor change, it is a big deal for our users. This has been an ongoing issue and on the top of the list to take care of for the community. Looks like we are getting something stable to go forward from, while making it simpler for newcomers too. Maybe not the most "flashy" of news, but it seems to me that there could be not much, in reality, that could be more important... a good, solid, foundation. |

Today's meeting was not recorded. With only 4 participants and a very (1+ hr) "prolonged" start because of some soap-boxing, by the time we were ready for the agenda, we were all frustrated and eager to complete the meeting. That discussion items of the agenda were: - Price - EGC has been fairing the bitcoin storm better than many. USD price still hovering around $0.20, usually on the plus side of 20 cents. - v1.7 - Version 1.7 is not yet readied. I advised participants another week or 2 would be needed. The delay comes from personal time constraints due to harvest and other professional responsibilities. Thank you for your patience. - IEO - The funding goal to purchase founding shares of IEO on the EGC Foundation's behalf was reached. Thanks to the community members who contributed. James was transferred the funds Nov 3rd and paperwork is still being finalized. More public announcements shortly after. James extends his sincere thanks. Community members that would like access to the 'IEO Shareholders' Facebook Group (were most discussions are held) should contact me privately. All IEO shareholders information will be discussed during EGC community meetings to ensure the EGC Foundation's position is represented as the community wishes. More details to come along with plans to install Solar Stakers during customers IEO solar installations, Internet connectivity permitting as some customers will not have Internet access. - Business - Domain registration was renewed and registration data was updated for the EverGreenCoin Foundation, Inc. - Business - State documents and fees were filed and paid to start the 501c3 process at a state level on Oct. 30th. These documents needed the federal information to be complete, which was acquired only Oct. 27th. The paperwork is proceeding as planned, though this step is expected a 2 week wait. i saw every altcoin so cheap , and today the bitcoin price is amazing price but i will hold GUN for long term , i think it will great again .
We certainly hope so! We have some things in work that we hope to get going over the next few months that will bring the coin current with coin technology and maybe add a few features at the same time if possible. I am glad to see activity happening. I believe that we may have a "sleeper" coin here for now, compared to what we'll have in the future if the word ever really gets out to the crypto community, and of course to the gun/2nd Amendment community also, as crypto currencies become more mainstream. |

Does any one else have a problem getting the verification login emails from Cryptopia? Sometimes mine get to my account immediately, sometimes they take 3-4 hours before they show up.
I find them to usually be "lightning fast", on occasion though if I don't see the confirmation email I will have them resend it from the pending withdrawals, and have never have had to wait long. Since we are mentioning Cryptopia, it looks like they are working on updating their user interface and seem to be getting a little better all the time. |

I would like to see a little bit more discussion on some simple and straight forward enhancements, fixes or updates that members would like to see in a future update. I know there is room for general code cleanup and efficiency improvement. I have several developers on standby and am making a list for them. Again, am NOT looking for major fork changes at this time. The goal is to bring us current and clean things up BEFORE doing a mobile wallet. Appreciate your constructive comments.
I appreciate the ability to share input. First, it got me thinking, seeing the verbiage in your post "Path Forward", that it would be good to see something like that in this thread, to replace the "New NeoScrypt Algorithm" since that is old news. In regard to enhancements: In general, it may be difficult to improve the basic functions of the wallet since it has always seemed to work flawlessly and transactions on the GUN network are fast and consistent. What I would like to see though, is some kind of paper wallet generator to make giveaways/promotions easier, into which one could place their own images. What also may be useful is an optional fee in the wallet to go towards advertising or whatever it takes to help make a strong infrastructure for GUN. There could be a check box with something like "your donation helps support GUN". Or have a small built in fee. A little support for financing awareness. Maybe "jazz up" the graphic interface. If there was something like an "easy miner" that could find your GPU and give it some basic setup commands... that might be fun for beginning enthusiasts. Maybe a link that goes back to the GUN website for the download (basically cgminer or sgminer with safe intensity settings built in), or direct mining from the wallet. When it comes time for a mobile wallet, an electrum one would be nice to see, keeping it simple and convenient. One can remember/write down their seed phrase and always have access to their GUN. Support for servers that won't go down, with backups/redundancy to ensure uptime. Might as well mention that a web wallet would be nice also, with the capability to import private keys. Possibly with ability to print paper wallets from there instead of the desktop, with options of pre-approved gun theme layouts. I expect this to be an interesting and fun discussion. |

I have created them with the bulk wallet feature in walletgenerator.net Using the wallet generator is pretty easy, and one is better off downloading and running it offline. Those instructions are on the bottom of their webpage. It didn't have the look/style I wanted for this project though, so I copied/pasted the generated addresses into a design program. From there, added them to the bottom of a layout describing digital currency and Guncoin, which was placed on the rear of a printout of the U.S. Bill of Rights, on parchment paper. Then of course, I send some Guncoin to them. I believe that they are frameable, with a "hidden" wallet in plain sight. My process is fairly labor intensive and slow, but if one uses the walletgenerator, with it's art/logo, it should go pretty quickly. I recommend copy/pasting the addresses somewhere, notepad maybe, to make sending GUN to them easier. I give the wallets to whomever I feel may be interested. Hopefully they will hang them on a wall in their office/den/mancave/womancave/wherever, or put them somewhere safe. Maybe the concept will garner some additional interest and research on their part. If not, possibly a time may come when they hear about digital currencies elsewhere, then they can have an aha moment, knowing they already have some. Also, some stickers are thrown in for fun, because...who doesn't like stickers?  Thanks so much for the description. This reminds me that it would be great if somebody with the know how could put together a paper wallet generator where one could add their own designs to it, (Birthday wishes, Gun shop logo, range contest prize, Dirty Harry  , cool looking gun money, basically whatever works), either as a background image or in a field somewhere on the printed wallet. I know that I would contribute to that creation. |

You may want elaborate on this a bit for newbies...... 1) How are you creating them? 2) Who are you giving them to? 3) What if anything do they do with them when they get them? Yea, that sounds about right.....NOT FREE......then if you do not meet the minimum daily trade volume, they delist you.... Cryptopia seems to be getting better all the time, am very happy for them, and consider them a great asset. It would be great to see GUN listed on Bittrex, but what's really needed is some use and volume. BTW, I have picked up my pace a little, and have been spreading some GUN paper wallets around. |

To update the community in regard to scheduled C-Cex delisting, with only approximately 24 hours to go we are still slightly below halfway (2.67 BTC) of the needed volume (6 BTC) over the past 30 days.
I did contact C-Cex administration and explain the issues that could have hindered us from reaching this mark. Those issues being: C-Cex's usually non-functional API and our ANN locking. While the ANN locking probably had little impact, I do think it is still valid. But the API failure is very valid and it did prevent community members from trading on C-Cex.
I have yet to receive any response to this request for leniency.
I will report any communication I do receive. But at this time, I must advise...
Remove any EverGreenCoin from C-Cex exchange, if you have yet to do so.
EDIT: My request did go unanswered. Which I can only assume is the answer.
It would appear C-Cex has wasted no time removing EverGreenCoin. Which is honestly no real loss to EverGreenCoin at this time. Yep, no loss at this time. I am glad for the exchanges and the services which they provide, but focusing on making a strong currency which will draw them to us is what I consider to be more important than trying to stay listed anywhere. One thing I have seen lately is that as BTC has increased in value, the apparent needed volumes on the exchanges seem to be tied to BTC, not USD. The current volume of EGC (traded in last years BTC dollar value) would have been around 15 or so BTC then. Edit: my math, LOL. |
