No rush....better to have things done right, than done too quick.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - New NeoScrypt Algorithm on: March 12, 2017, 10:45:20 PM
I found myself another graphics card a while ago and added that to GUN's mining hash over at The Blocks Factory, YAY!

Anyway...what I really wanted to share was a few thoughts about GUN:
I have printed some paper wallets, and some stickers to give away as I try to explain GUN to some local gunshops and to whomever's path I cross that I feel may be interested.

I believe it would be easier, and GUN probably taken a little more seriously if we had the resources readily available to legitimize/explain it.
 Imagine...
Me, "Hey, check this out, this GUN currency is awesome"
Other, "What is it?, what does it do?"
Me, "It is a new type of currency, a way to transfer value peer to peer, for gun enthusiasts"
 Other, "Show me"
Me, "Sorry, I cannot actually do that without being behind my computer, but someday it could be something big for people/businesses enjoying/using firearms, let me TRY to explain..."
 Other, "Huh"
 .....VS.....
Me. "Pulls out a sweet looking paper wallet and transfers GUN to it via my phone, and maybe also hand them another pre-valued paper wallet that I loaded/printed earlier"
Other, "Wow, that's awesome, your own gun money?"
Me, "Yep, and still in it's early stages, let me answer any questions you may have"

Tools such as an android wallet, and a desktop wallet that could print paper wallets would be great to have.
We could have a preprinted empty wallet and transfer GUN in a matter of seconds onto it from our phones as a demonstration of how easy GUN is to use.
A web wallet would make it easier for newcomers also, making it as simple as logging on to a website and then transferring GUN from there, hopefully being able to import private keys from paper wallets they may have received, and not having to download anything to become involved.

Not having the resources to promote is one of the likely reasons GUN seems to be slipping to me.

My thought is that we need to crowdsource the necessary funds to pay for whatever it takes to make, and run an android wallet, and fix the current QT wallet so that one might be able to mine directly from it (you actually can though, with your CPU, under the mining tab, but I am more referring to using your computer's video card), along with the printing of paper wallets (preferrably with an option of using your own background image which would allow the "printing of one's own money" for ranges, gunshops, promotions, etc...).

I do understand that the ability to do that last (print from the walet) may be extremely technically challenging, but maybe we can put together a paper wallet generator where we can easily substitute our own individual, custom background images into.

An update to the wallet that automatically adds a fee which goes toward the expenses, development, and promotion of GUN would also be extremely beneficial in my opinion.
Considering how much and how many things gun folks pay for already, this would be a miniscule expense for a tool such as GUN to have at one's disposal.

I believe that it is not up to the "dev" to make things happen, other than keeping the website and social media accounts active, up to date, and maybe shaking us up now and then, letting us know that we can't sit around and think something is going to happen by itself.
We have to do the doing, but maybe need him/them to let us know that, and share what ideas they may be able to impliment with our help...some organization.
No new exchanges are going to accept GUN until they see positive activity from the GUN community.

To me, this looks a good time to try something other than wait around, since GUN isn't going to get much lower in value, with not much to lose in that regard, and lots to gain.
I believe that GUN is a sleeper of a coin that has great potential, considering that it is technically running smoothly, fits a niche market that has compassionate beliefs in freedoms, and has quite a bit of time left with close to the initial block rewards for many to get involved without feeling like they missed the boat.

 Anyway...thanks for reading Smiley

TLDR: about the same as my last post, just different words.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: February 21, 2017, 07:29:30 AM
Hello CoinMarketCap Folks,

I was hoping that you could update the available supply field on one of my favorite coins:

GUN

The link is correct to CryptoID, but the balance does not show the current/correct amount.

Thank you.
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - New NeoScrypt Algorithm on: January 25, 2017, 05:16:48 AM
Being delisted from Bleutrade was unexpected.
Didn't see that one coming since I thought that they gave warning in regard to such matters.
This looks like quite a wake up call.
Users who are interested in GUN trading should go on over to Cryptopia and show some support.

A few thoughts:
We should probably all work together and focus our energy and passion towards promoting the coin.
I too would like to see some more activity on the social networks, (at least FB for me, since I don't use the others) but we all may be a little guilty
by not throwing attention that way ourselves.
GUN is a decentralized currency, and technically anybody can do whatever they would like to do to promote it.
Some things do need organization and planning though.
It would be nice to have more resources to work with, (I know...a big list here), such as the new wallets, an android wallet, web wallet, and whatever it takes to make sure the systems
are up and running to support those (servers and whatnot? at least for the android and web wallet stuff I believe), ability to print nicer paper wallets for giveaways, etc...
Maybe crowdsource from our community what it would take to make things happen since it would be much easier to promote and to be validated that way.
If we put our best efforts forward and GUN gained some momentum, educating the firearms community of this option, the payback could be awesome.

TL:DR We got a shock today, let's do some positive things to help GUN.

He just wants to buy XVG cheap lol

It will rebound in a month or two. With such BTC rally all alts are suffering.

you right about one thing, but btc rally is looking a little limp as of now.

Why would you sell at 1 Satoshi. Miner or Investor what is the point of losing half the profit when it was easliy selling at 2 Satoshi.

Why would you sell at 2 satosh.

If your bitcoins were bought at 300 usd, you can still

Plenty of reason but if you know the developer and how active he is, you find an oppertunity for your money. Well at least I did.
Too bad there is no PoS.

Lots of reasons to sell, lots of reasons to buy.

I see no reason to sell personally, believing it can only go up in value.

The main reason I got into "DogecoinDark" / XVG was the fact that it was stated as Evolving, which has kept the window open to change things up as time progresses, not being locked into anything.

It was also refreshing seeing an active and available developer.

Maybe we will see an evolution happening someday that will place XVG into the ranks of the top cryptos?

No, this coin never be a top crypto. Reason? This coin hits the 70sat and donīt hold this and fall to 1sat.

I always enjoy seeing your posts, they help keep things in perspective from another angle.

To myself, XVG has "permission" to evolve/adapt/change, not many currencies do.

Crypto is not stagnant and I believe that XVG will fill a need/void one of these days.

I somewhat like the idea as to having it running tunnels/nodes for the deep web or something of that sort, or a new system of privacy.

any next news?

What news do u expect to come out? I had been trading maza for quite while on mintpal, long before it was integrated over to moolah. MAZA is 3 years old coin, named after Mr. Motherfucker. That dude had lived in on earth before u were even born. I had know him personally and can tell for sure that he was an utter motherfucker. This doesn't change anything for u, and doesn't make this coin better. Don't touch remnants of a mintpal crapcoin.

oh ok hhe..I was just wondering because my bitcoin in mazacoin  Sad

I believe that Maza means something like "metal".

Lots of decent coins were on Mintpal, it had a nice user interface.

Too bad about their issues (started with minting customer's VRC I believe), and was finished off with we all know who.

Any updates on Guncoin these dayz?

I understand this is not exactly what you asked for, but here is my quick update.

It appears as if the blockchain is smoothly running along.

There are still lots of inexpensive coins out there.

I believe this currency should be a "no-brainer" for gun enthusiasts who understand some money/value/risk/computer stuff, to try out and get involved with.
Considering how much $$$ we put into our firearms, accessories, and related endeavours, this would represent a minuscule amount in relation to most expenses.

Sort of a fun vote of conscious for firearms/freedoms also.

For my part, I have a graphics card going and have put together a printout of the U.S. Bill of Rights (page sized and framable) on decent paper, that I plan placing instructions, public, and private addresses onto the back of, to give away to the local gunshops and at upcoming gun shows.

Wishing GUN lots of luck while it continues to stay under the radar.

I know you delete this post and i hope someone see this from this person

OH Crap just as I suspected...Verge hit 1 Sat again.  Looking week, no news, no marketing, no one knows the coin.  The miners are just taking profits and looks like all support walls and exchanges are super low volume.  Looking like we will go to a no bid again at this rate which means coin is worth 0.  Yikes!!  From being 70 Sat at one point back to nothing, very scary and sucks.  From Dev and others it seemed like this coin could gain some steam and be a good one on the market but doesn't appear so anymore.  Sad to see it come to this. Sad Sad

I aggree 100% this person. DEV, change your way with this coin or this coin is the end

Maybe if it was posted in the speculation area, it would have stayed.

That post was kind of Doom and Gloom, but I do understand his feelings.

We can't blame the dev, since he is more active than any I have seen.
We need to figure out something positive and do it, to make things happen.
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: January 06, 2017, 06:12:29 AM
It is interesting to see AUR garnering such attention, but I doubt many Auroracoin enthusiasts will partake in such an endeavour, believing in a more sustainable and organic growth pattern for their currency.

Best wishes for your project  Smiley

Happy new year everyone! It's been a little quiet here, but believe me, 2017 will be a good Auroracoin year! Some good developments are on their way, stay tuned...  Smiley

Happy New Year to all too!

I am looking forward to seeing what's in store for AUR this year.

My intuition tells me good things.

173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: December 31, 2016, 05:02:12 AM
Auroracoin is good coin but it can not rise up now due to BTC rising.
Just buy and hold it . it must rise after then.

I totally agree with you, the energy expended does not make up for it

AUR is in accumulation phase.

I believe the phase that AUR exists currently in is:

"This is a damn fine coin, stable, has a purpose, and still insanely inexpensive to buy/support, someday you'll wish you bought more" phase.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: December 23, 2016, 09:30:33 PM
Most of the altcoins will look weak while Bitcoin rises so strong, with the reverse most likely happening when BTC adjusts down.

As long as there is some type of foundation working on Auroracoin's promotion and use, it has more going for it than almost any altcoin out there.

I believe that now is the time to buy AUR, and am using the little BTC I have to do just that  Smiley

175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: October 27, 2016, 10:45:16 PM
I saw the price of 10000 and by the time I double-checked it was gone  Cry

Hoping for another "redistribution".
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: - AURORACOIN - on: October 27, 2016, 10:35:15 PM
Nothing "illegal" about dumping, since those are the chances we take.
Looks like some of our own may be getting some good deals today and this may help AUR in the future by considering this an additional redistribution.

The wallet at Bittrex is under "maintenance" also as we see this happening.
Maybe if they find that the coins were illegally obtained or from Cryptsy, or somewhere else they should not have come from, they will freeze it.

edit: some words and spacing

I wonder how much of this is actually true:

Maybe Iceland has what it takes to make something happen in regard to digital currency also?

i don't see verge on bitsquare

in the app you dont see us? we're listed between espers and myriad. im thinking about making a copy of bitsquare in our repo and adding our block explorer to it

https://github.com/bitsquare/bitsquare/blob/master/core/src/main/java/io/bitsquare/locale/CurrencyUtil.java#L124

I see VERGE under their list of supported altcoins, but not in their marketplace.

Haven't used them yet, so not sure exactly how it works (looks like an exchange that allows traders to connect directly....nothing stored by them... interesting).

Im still having trouble importing my private key to my verge wallet (windows). I keep getting code -13. Will there be a way I can import my private key to the WEB wallet anytime soon??

where did the privkey come from?

it came from vergecurrency.com/downloads/paperwallet/

that's odd, ill check it out right now. the syntax is: importprivkey privkeygoeshere

thats what i keyed in.

I hope you don't mind me chiming in, but when I have tried importing private keys, and it doesn't work, it has usually been me mistyping something...like adding a space where it does not belong, or not having one where it does  Smiley
Good luck.

Sorry folks! I might have to crash down the price to 4 sats! I just need to liquidate it and there ain't even enough volume I'd probably think ETH and DOGE could be a really good option right now. I just want to get out at a profit before someone else crashes the price for me.

Not hating this project! Dev is great and so is the project, but I just love my BTC more Smiley

Nice!  Thanks mate, got several million XVG for cheap.  Wishing it was 3 sat still though =/

I liked trading at 50 sat too, but that was a very short moment compared to the lower prices.  I bought all the way down. The price going down has allowed people like me to get an opportunity to get more coins though. Some people are looking instant success coins with huge volumes.  We've had good volume but people get impatient and sell off. You can't always assume markets are directly related to rationality.  One big sell off can cause big effects and the same can be said about big buys.  I'm excited to see what the future brings now that we are on safer markets/exchanges than before. We have the multi-algo now too, showing our Dev has the skills required to adapt to the context and issues that might present themselves in crypto. Not every Dev is even responsive to peoples concerns and questions; XVG Dev. is! We are in it for the long haul. Cheers XVG trading community and cheers to Dev.!

@ Cryptogasm: Honesty is welcome to see, and glad that you do care enough for the warning. Hopefully you will hang on to some of your XVG.

@ ShadowBits: I cannot agree more.
