Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Do not go gentle into that good night - Dylan Thomas
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is bitcoin better than litecoin? on: June 30, 2015, 01:38:25 PM
Litecoin has the better wealthdistribution which could possibly help it to get greater network effect than BTC which is heavily concentrated. Also LTC does make more transactions per second thus it could accomodate more txs in the same time like BTC does.

Also LTC isn't heavily associated with child porn and drug trade and all that like BTC is. It has the cleaner image, is faster, has a more slim blockchain and NO GAVIN or devided community and ongoing drama. And the halving is coming up.
Only idiots hold no LTC.

Bitcoin's public history is littered with theft, scams, etc... Litecoin has a cleaner public image.
Granted early bitcoin was wild west of new tech and that pioneering always attracts criminal activity. But Litecoin was only around 1.75 yrs behind and major bitcoin adoption was still non-existent for a number of years both were actively spreading roots.

Looks like everything went fine today. I'm upgraded and staking as we speak.
Reminder to all, only download clients (especially windows) from OP or official sources.

DON'T CLICK DOWNLOAD LINKS FROM QUOTED POSTS!!!! NUMEROUS MALWARE ATTACKS AND STOLEN COINS IN OTHER COMMUNITIES HIDDEN IN MODIFIED QUOTED POSTS.

To that end, how about official releases stamped with PGP encryption so we can verify hashes?

Well done all!

Having trouble changing name with Claim Address on http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/HYP/claim.php

Looks like you copied over claimed addresses from http://hyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com/rich because I haven't claimed my address with your explorer yet.
When I try to I get

lol superhereo's.

Yes, if you wanna go hardcore, smaller smaller smaller. At least 80% of my blocks are less then 2k and about 50% less then 1.5k to 500.... but you do need a shit ton of coins (100k?) to really make that strategy work.

Agreed. Think of each block as a lottery ticket. How many chances to find a block do you want? Size accordingly.

~Yeah I didn't like it much. I actually much preferred the film by Nolan's Cinematographer Transcendence though critics seemed to shit all over it.

I'll take a look at it.
268  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best movies of 2010-present on: June 29, 2015, 04:06:06 PM
Finally saw Interstellar over the weekend. It was horrible! Really bad.
I'm a huge Nolan fan and love sci-fi, but this move was so dumb. Waste of time.

My wife even revealed the (spoiler alert) "ghost" before Coop even sat there overnight to figure out it was gravity. And she is not the fastest at figuring major plot twists out. We both just figured it would be revealed in a better way than the bookshelf black hole scenerio.

Laughable.

Anyone see a good time-shift space movie like "Moon?" (2009)

Just so everyone knows.....in order to fix the wallets, we have reverted block times back to 64 seconds

Thanks for clarity. Do you foresee doing another update when everyone is comfortable with this fork that tries to work the 90 sec block times back in?

My vote .1 as well.

We're going to have 35 billion coins and already have over 5 billion coins. Anything less isn't logical.

Sure other coins have smaller tx fees but they also have smaller total supply.

Even if LiteDoge ever hits $.01 cent that still makes our marketcap $35B (which isn't going to happen, let's be realistic). That makes each transaction 1/10 of a penny which isn't going to hamper vendor adoption in any way.

Realistically tx fees will be 1/1000 of a penny or around there for many years if we go with .1. Personally I'd make it higher. But for voting purposes I vote .1.

but for what are txfee even used for? it's included in supply already not that you make more from it in supply.

It's a reward for stakers and the mechanism in place to secure the network. It doesn't effect the total supply.

2 sat LDOGE no longer being fullfilled.  seems like the dump is over... DAG NABBIT!

Most of the sell pressure is going away too. Looks like profitable days ahead!
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is bitcoin better than litecoin? on: June 25, 2015, 05:13:41 AM
Well? Let's hear it.

Obviously Bitcoin is much better than litecoin.Because Bitcoin has big market and world wide acceptance.
A large market and acceptance doesn't mean it is better by that standard then paypal is better than Bitcoin and we all know that is just not true.
you can not compare bitcoin with paypal at this stage. bitcoin is at its early stages and still needs more time and acceptance while paypal was around much more time hence the bigger market.

Paypal IPO'd 4 years into existence @ 1.5 billion. Bitcoin is in year 5.
278  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion Paycoin XPY CPIG BTCLend xpyerr.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: June 25, 2015, 02:29:21 AM
This is a great example of how Garbanzo nearly ruined crypto culture:  From now on PoS doesn't necessarily mean Proof of Stake anymore.

If you got Paycoined & Garzad, PoS means Piece of S#!T.

So which is it, CON man?   Huh  @Crestington

I'm guessing, both.   Wink

That's only true among noobs that got into PayCoin as their first or second coin, drank the koolaid and were left holding bags.
This happens weekly with new virgin crypto junkies and veteran "devs" scammers releasing ICO coins with newbie accounts.

It's like saying PoW now means Proof of Wok because most of the bitcoin mining happens from China.  Tongue
279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Calculate profit and loss on: June 25, 2015, 02:16:34 AM
i think correct formula is: Cost of SELL - Cost of BUY - Fees = Profit / Loss

for ex:
Buy 1000DOGE @75sat cost of buy is 75000sat
Sell 1000DOGE @80sat cost of sell is 80000sat and a 0,2% fee is 160sat
if we use "Cost of BUY - Cost of SELL - Fees = Profit / Loss"
75000 - 80000 - 160 = -5160sat

but if we use "Cost of SELL - Cost of BUY - Fees = Profit / Loss" formula;
80000 - 75000 - 160 = 4840sat Profit Smiley

if we Sell 1000DOGE @70sat cost of sell is 70000sat and a 0,2% fee is 140sat
and with same formula;
70000 - 75000 - 140 = -5140sat Loss Sad

That is correct. Good catch!

Surprised to not see Dash, Monero & Shadow on your list of supported coins. Any thought on these?
I suppose we could fork from openclerk.org and add them ourselves. Just curious.

You are welcome to vote for new coins to be added in the future Smiley

You can also directly fork some of the Openclerk components such as openclerk/cryptocurrences and add support there.

OK. thanks!
