No. The ShadowCash project is now complete. Particl is a new project. The same project team from Shadowcash is working on Particl.

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] ShadowCash | Welcome to the UMBRA on: November 23, 2016, 05:08:17 PM
New release out across all platforms. https://github.com/shadowproject/shadow/releases
V1.5.0.3

If you compile yourself
Code:
git update
then recompile.

First change I noticed was unlocking wallet for messaging now. That's great so wallet stays encrypted now.

Also, it's good practice not to operate private and group chat channels with your main coin wallet. Ie: where all your coins reside.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] ShadowCash | Welcome to the UMBRA on: November 11, 2016, 09:09:47 PM

You might be misunderstanding the structure of the Shadow market. The devs do not "allow" anything on there. They write code. They release the code, and what we buy and sell there is what we buy and sell, they can't control any of it.

I'd add that the way a decentralized app works is that it's owned by the people. So you can't really shut it down unless you control the coin supply which is tied up in nodes at the moment. Roughly 45% or more staking and hardly any supply in the open market without raising the price to $100 or more.

Very expensive overthrow scenario.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] ShadowCash | Welcome to the UMBRA on: November 11, 2016, 08:43:33 PM
Realistically the market will be small to start and hopefully grow organically like any new user base.

There are no expectations from the community to kill DNM. That's just crazy. That's like the 95%+ of coins out there trying to kill Bitcoin (which almost all think they will  Undecided ). It's not realistic. Shadow isn't trying to replace the DNM in as much as it's not trying to replace Bitcoin.

The market will offer new ways to do business around the world. But all the current ways will keep chugging along that's for sure. Hey, just today I used cash to buy coffee. And drew a picture with a pencil on paper. Those still work perfectly fine.

Just comes down to what do you want out of the tools at your disposal.

Is there another Verge block explorer out there? Block Experts shows the subscription expired and last block 2 days ago Sad

Only a total of 21k coins up for sale at trex and 176K at polo, I dont think anyone want to sell before the market lands

If you look at distribution tab on trex you see there are a lot of coins on there, just not posted to sell yet. i bet similar ratio is on polo too.

Serious project with promising future, love how they are working on a useful environment so that users might really leave the app (node) open on their computers - for anonymous chat or tor browsing, for ex. Would be great to have a Linux ShadowOS preloaded with SDC node for RASPBERRY PI. Really cheap way of running a node and great secure wallet if you have stakes on the coin. I mean, eventually people that are bought into the coin will want to help enforce the system (by running nodes) to protect their coins.

This had already been done. I think @dasource or @code has set this up.

There you go. It's not preloaded, but at least you can do it yourself, without needing to rely on 3rd party (to be honest and not fill it up with malware):
https://shadowproject.io/en/tutorials/shadow-daemon-raspberry-pi2

The team has released linuxarm compiles as well. https://talk.shadowproject.io/topic/540/get-shadowgui-staking-within-5-minutes-on-raspberry-pi-jesie-mate-and-others

In the future I believe these will be included on the github release page with checksums

I'm sure many people have asked, but what's the ETA on the SDC exchange? Some very slick features here and if it can attract 5 or 10% of the DNM transactions I think it would explode.

Indeed

Roadmap for the project is here: https://shadowproject.io/en/roadmap

Looks like this year.

Was the alleged broken ring signatures reported in February 2016 fixed? I was trying to find out but couldn't find any documentation

It's summarized here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowcash/comments/50iuv8/what_is_shadowcashs_rebuttal_to_it_being/d74dno7

The wallet links in the OP are out of date.  At least the win64 one is.

Official releases with checksums can be found here: https://github.com/shadowproject/shadow/releases

Do you know any CORS enabled public API which can return SDC address balances for third party apps?
I've tried this: http://explorer.shadow.cash/chain/ShadowCash/q, but they not set the CORS header of the api server.

I've put a message into the dev of shadow.cash for your question Smiley

Correct! I set it up and a couple other community members upped the rewards.

Fantastic vtr99!

Btw, I created this giveaway and I'm not a dev. Just an active contributor. Smiley

The bounties are geared towards video reviews of Umbra and it's main features. The goal is to get video tutorials, reviews, excitement in the YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, etc platforms. There are also larger bounties for articles from crypto news centers and main stream news publications. Reddit style, steemit, etc posts and reviews are not eligible but definitely wanted.

I posted this on r/Shadowcash as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/Shadowcash/comments/52s8v2/community_sponsored_sdc_giveaway_focused_on_new/

You can pm me here or better yet on our slack @litebit. I'm rarely here.

I saw someone in the polo trollbox is claiming the market already exists in Umbra via command line, any truth to this?

I believe this is true. The remaining 20% or less work to do is to strap the backend to the frontend

This is from their roadmap @ https://shadowproject.io/en/roadmap

Quote
Connecting the buttons to the engine! Linking the back-end (system) to the front-end (graphical interface)

Then next up would be "Alpha testing phase (private/internal)"

FWIW: the trollbox is the worse place for information. slack is where all the discussion takes place on this project

extremistan: SDC's popularity has never been in decline, in fact, the total number of members in the Shadow Slack has more than doubled in the last week with massive growth. The official twitter account has grown by over 700 new followers in a similar amount of time too, I consider these figures to be represent near exponential growth compared to the past.

Reddit page has also seen a 40% or so increase.

The quickest way to get everything sync'd up fast is by downloading the blockchain from https://github.com/shadowproject/blockchain

How do I feed the blockchain to the wallet?

Follow this guide. https://shadowproject.io/en/tutorials/fast-sync-blockchain

Nearly 50% of wallets are staking, up from 30% last week. That's an impressive number for PoS.

It's nice getting those coins off the centralized exchanges and working for the people.

Anyone staking on a raspberry?

Does the guide in OP still apply?

what is a good price

Well currently it's the best price it will ever be. 1 satoshi is the bottom of the well son. 2 satoshi is double your money (100% profit). 3 satoshi is triple your money, etc...

With an active community a valuation of $300k would make me happy. That's around 10-11 satoshi (.00000010 BTC)
