1  Economy / Economics / Re: Where to invest? How to choose the right ICO? Answer is here! on: November 15, 2018, 12:46:31 PM
Normally I do not invest into stuff that I can't understand the concept myself, I do not like the features that looks like they are not needed in crypto world right now, however I just did a silly investment myself. I bought a cryptokitty. It is not an ICO I know but it showed my flaw that if I like something enough, I can invest into it without even caring about whitepapers or team behind it and all that.

I didn't even know who was the team behind it, I just know the company name dapper labs or something. Which can translate into ICO and the new coins that's coming up, I can literally invest into something that I want, all great inventions come from a need, if I want something, if I need something and I go out and build a platform for that need, if that's needed by enough other people than you can apparently get your ICO to the top. Just work towards what people need.
2  Economy / Economics / Re: Paper Money - The Greatest Scam on: November 15, 2018, 10:12:58 AM
Crypto currencies are comparatively cheaper, practical and efficient because they don't involve banks in making transactions so there are no taxes imposed here, but I don't think we can completely abandon the paper because in everyday life we cannot fully use crypto resources. because there are still many payments that can only be made using paper money
It's easy and transparent, yet adoption is not that wide as paper money offers, it will have long way before crypto will be able to be too useful in every means of transactions.
besides that many people who do not understand cryptocurrency, so paper currency becomes more effective for transaction tools. although crypto is easy and transparent but for those who don't understand, it will be the same
Well, it is one thing of course to have in mind that not everyone will actually get to be able to utilize crypto as they will find it a whole lot difficult when it comes to understanding how things are done within the space as well as how they can handle themselves.

Nonetheless, it is always a matter of time, and even though the fiat system cannot completely be ruled out, one way or the other, over time, paper currency will most definitely go into extinction and then as we are already seeing the age of cashless, it will even make the ushering in of blockchain technology at large within the financial sector to even make a lot of sense.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Decentralized marketplaces will put Amazon out of business on: November 14, 2018, 08:19:31 AM
Amazon seems like one of the biggest companies in the whole world right now, it is not that easy to put biggest company in the entire world to get out of business thanks to couple of new options. Standard oil was seen as the biggest company of its time and had to be torn apart for monopoly reasons, the companies that came to be after it was torn apart right now holds over a trillion dollars in value, even shredding it to pieces didn't hold those companies low.

Amazon will always be one of the big players unless something huge happens to it. Of course, decentralized markets could get a share out of it and certainly rival it but just because Amazon would have some competition at the top would mean it will go down, it will just soar with them together instead.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Do You Determine Credible Bounty Program on: November 13, 2018, 05:38:34 AM
I have seen a lot of credible bounty managers here where in the end they've became greed and abuse their popularity here in the forum, while doing some activity which is illegal like they run away the fund of the owners of the project they managed then some are doing cheating abuse, or etc. Meaning, credible bounty managers is not enough to say that the bounty is credible.
I think as long as the bounty team of the project is transparent to their community, the the project is running in good progress, and  always giving an updates to all socials media they have I  could say that campaign bounty is credible.
You would not blame a bounty manager for what could happen to a project and I think a lot of people just like the idea of being spoon fed most of the time.

This is not something that we just have to keep pushing blame, because for every bounty participant that ended up joining a scam project, they are just as guilty as the campaign managers themselves, because they could have averted that easily, if they had taken their time to at least do some pretty good diligence on the project they are participating in its bounty.

Bounty campaign has its own risk too, and you have to live with it. Sometimes, you may even participate in a project's bounty that you believed in but ended up not reaching its soft cap, and then investor's money are refunded, which in this case, shows basically that there will be nothing for the bounty participants. It is all part of the risk.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as the heart of all coins on: November 12, 2018, 04:12:52 PM
As we all know it when bitcoin price goes down, most of the coins are heading down too. That's because bitcoin it is the Heart of all coins if its sound then all of the coins are good, if it's Bad then all of the coins are going down too. most of the time other coins are following the bitcoin price. just look up the market right now.
This is so far, but it would be better to have complete independence, then only the most stable and profitable remained among the alts. Others would not have survived simply. And competition with bitcoin would be tougher.
Well, that is no longer anything new, considering the fact that bitcoin has been able to stand the ground of the general market controller thus far and I believe in a way, this is something that will remain like that.

When it comes to competition with bitcoin, I doubt if this is something we will get to see, as most altcoins are even trying it hard to compete among themselves, we keep seeing different clones of the same product popping up every single time, and most of the altcoins in the market are just scam with no real value or product, so in the case, where bitcoin scaling issue gets fully resolved, we get to see it hit the idea of being a payment system a lot better, and by then, bitcoin gains dominance, and this is the time we will get to see altcoins that will practically still be breathing as a lot of them will end up dead.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: Who will finally win the Blockchain competition; USA or China? on: November 09, 2018, 12:07:33 PM
Huh Huh I hear that USA are giving good resouces for Blockchain investigation, but definetely China will be the winner, becouse they know that this technology will be worldwide.  Cool Cool
I doubt china will be in the top 2 when its all said and done. China keeps on trying to ban stuff related to crypto and just recently published a new desire to stop airdrops as well which they already explained their hatred towards ICO as well. So it means blockchain is improving all around the world while having setbacks when it comes to china, that's why it is hard for china to actually beat any country in blockchain competition.

Certainly not a big country like USA which already has many countries trying to build blockchain softwares to help out corporations on their needs. Blockchain software is now used in many third world countries like carribeans and bahamas and malta and so forth, it is quite soon that it will start to work its way towards first world countries and meanwhile China is just trying to keep its people away from it.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any opinion of trading cryptocurrencies vs penny stock? on: November 09, 2018, 05:36:34 AM
I do not think they are that different but they are not close neither. Penny stocks are literally scams if done right, there has been companies with no offices that started out with the funds coming from their penny stocks sold, they make hundreds of millions of stocks and make their company worth millions without actually starting the business but just a promise. It means ICO's are quite similar in that sense, but crypto trading ? I am not too sure.

If the topic was ICO vs penny stock I might have said yes but trading crypto is more like forex than penny stocks at this point. The upper side is not as big as penny or ICO but the risks are lower compared to both. I would say penny stocks have only one more advantage which is having the SEC and IRS with you and if the company scams you they are always caught by the law, crypto people can run away from law longer if needed.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH progress in future? on: November 08, 2018, 09:42:50 AM
Some anticipate that the bull is in effect, but the market still might go lower and see a further decline.
Is it ok to buy at extreme values and worth taking risk?
There is no doubt that there has been some development with Ethereum platform recently, and Vitalik has made some interesting comments on upgrade and how Ethereum will stand a chance to beat its scaling solution and make it a preferred option for both an investment, payment method as well as a fantastic smart contract platform.

They already have the first movers’ advantage, so I believe that with this, they should at least be able to thrive greatly if there is a protocol upgrade that would most definitely bring about a huge adoption.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit a trillion dollar marketcap in the future? on: November 08, 2018, 06:09:23 AM
This is even more like asking if it is possible for bitcoin to attain at least as much as $55000 to $60000 in the long run from the current market price, which to me is something that is very realistic as I even believe we will get to achieve more than that in the future and even with huge mass adoption, it will be far more than a trillion dollar market cap.

The great potential is there, we have not even started seeing real life usage to its optimal level alone and with speculation, bitcoin is currently over a 100billion dollar market cap. It is just a little away to achieving trillion which can easily happen even in the next few couple of years.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Radio stations, how many are out there? on: November 08, 2018, 04:12:32 AM
I never heard any "crypto radio" before but I figured it would be quite useless. I mean crypto is a hectic world but there are two reasons why something like that wouldn't really work out well.

First is, radio is generally for music, even if there are shows where people talk and say funny stuff all those are presented with songs in between. It means a "crypto" radio will have to provide music too, which makes it not so crypto and quite mainstream type.

The second part is, if you try to make it like a 24 hour podcast of crypto stuff than you will run out of interesting stuff, you need to find interesting crypto personalities and make their shows and give them a time slot where everyone would love to listen. Also since crypto is global you can't really make it a global radio all at once neither, while some people listening the best show during prime time, it is early morning in another country.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: November 07, 2018, 06:10:46 PM
What I saw tonight was the improved Portland TrailBlazers , they beat the Bucks with a good margin, CJ McCollum explode with 40 points on that win.
They will surely get into the playoffs easily but the only problem they have since the past is that they are having a difficulty entering in the West Finals, this team is just first round team.
Portland and Wizards are basically the same team at this point. They both have a great point guard and shooting guard combo, they both try their best with their bigs and they both try to draft well or sign well on free agency and just cut ties with anyone who wants more money.

Honestly, I find them west and east versions of each other. However this can't continue like that forever, they really need to blow it up and try again, I know tanking is not liked by many people but neither wizards nor blazers is going anywhere with these teams, if they could trade people like wall/beal or dame/cj and get picks instead with some soon ending contracts with it, they can both get rid of the contract quickly and have picks to restart all of this. Otherwise they will be stuck with mediocre play forever.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to learn trading? on: November 07, 2018, 02:59:42 PM
there are many strategies and tips in cryptocurrency daily trading, my advice is to use your experience in crypto trading in the market because experience is the best teacher to be able to change for the better, learning is analyzing asset price movements and don't forget that no investment can change someone gets rich instantly
Learn! Learn!! And never stop learning. Experience may be the best teacher but if you skip the basic things you need to know, you will find out that trying to gain experience without any knowledge at all, will only end up getting you totally messed up and your account balance getting blown like a grenade.
There is always a step to everything;
Learn
Practice
Build strategy
Fine tune the strategy
Gain confidence
See all experience as a new phase to keep learning
If you manage to miss anyone, you will realize how frustrated you can get pretty fast.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: November 04, 2018, 03:53:15 PM
With real Madrid winning their recent games I think they might get on the rise. Coaching changes plus games and wins combined to a new fresh look for Madrid team if you ask me. Still won't be enough to get the championship but I am pretty sure they have what it takes to finish the league at top 3 right now.

I know finishing top 3 doesn't seem like an accomplishment to many people here when it is about real Madrid but they were literally losing their games to a point where they were closer to regulation side than champions. That is why I think it is a great improvement for a team to improve from that level to top 3 even if it is real Madrid we are talking about. Working towards a goal chipping away slowly is still a great way to get better, no one needs to get better over night.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices are currently fluctuating very low! This is a strange thing. on: November 04, 2018, 01:20:46 PM
I think this is because the regular people get out from trading and many people are either in fiat or in bitcoin but not trading anymore trying to make more money. A year ago everyone was a master about which coin was to get and even at the most unusual places you have seen talks about buying some obscure coin and that was the way to riches, nowadays no one really does that at all.

It means the whales who try to control the market can't anymore because in order to control the market it has to worth what you are doing and when they spent millions of dollars into bitcoin than there was other people who spent tens of millions of dollars and their speculation was not seen and balanced.

Nowadays, if they try to do that than they would have to really move the market themselves and when they want to get out they can't because there are not enough money to go around.
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Meditation is essential for becoming successful trader on: November 02, 2018, 12:41:15 PM
Did you mean to have good psychology in trading? To have it , i think we not need to do meditation. We should be keep learn and learn to more to understanding price action and to know all risk of trading, and we should be minimize the risk by make risk management . I dont see any relation between trading and meditation.
Honestly, having a good psychology when it comes to trading is not even something anyone can do if the mentality they bring into trading at first is not right. No matter how you want to meditate, if you approach trading as gambling, you have no strategy, you have no knowledge, you have no confidence since you have no skills at all, there is no amount of meditation that will actually make you successful at trading.

As far as I am concerned, the best way to trade is to build confidence in yourself, and the best way to build confidence, is to make sure that you have learned enough and you have been able to back test your strategy to see you are good to go. Meditation will not get all of that done for you the last time I checked.
When you want to trade, there is always that thing to at least find some peace within you first but there is no way you can find that peace if all you are after is gambling your position in the market without knowledge and like you said, it will not even get you far, before you will realize that no matter how you meditate without knowledge of what you are doing, you are just busy meditating for nothing.

Rather than meditating, every day, before I hit the market, I take my time to study it, wait for a perfect position to enter based on my strategy, and then make the best of it. That is my own meditation based on my knowledge, anyone who does not have a strategy and thinking meditation will help them out should go ahead, as I will love to see where that leads them.

We all know what is actually useful for controlling emotions of traders, it is knowledge, practice and experience, not meditation. I am not saying you cannot meditate before you trade as that is your own call, but what would actually make you to trade like a pro, is not meditation, but the confidence in your own self and in your strategy you have been consistently used to over time. Being a successful trader is about how you get to develop your skills and strategy over time and meditation is never a criterion to being a successful trader. You will be in a clear mind when you know what you are doing.
16  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase opens a department in NY on: November 02, 2018, 06:40:57 AM
What do you think about the growth of the giant and on what exchange do you trade cryptocurrencies?
The founder of this coinbase is really a visionary and coinbase is really opening the eyes of society to cryptocurrencies. I think opening of this new department is a sign that America is not against cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology and in future their are going to adopt it into their financial system. We are the time when more and more of this cryptocurrencies companies need to open more branch in other to spread more news about it.
Over the years, I have seen coinbase take their time to do everything appropriately and make sure it is done right which is one of the reasons why I have always been able to at least trust their services. Opening a department in NY, is not a bad idea, as every business will most definitely want to keep expanding and pretty much, they have a good and solid reasons for that and we all know that coinbase has been a very huge part of this space for a very long time, and seeing them grow in size is not a bad idea at all.

Someone after the OP said coinbase is acting like a bank, for heaven sake, this is a regulated exchange and every centralized exchanges are like that, so the whole acting like a bank thing is nothing new for a centralized exchange.
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fundamental issues that will create bull run again! on: November 01, 2018, 02:51:51 PM
Only prediction, can be true or totally wrong. Even this is positive news I believe can't make people replace their trust again, they need more than news. If this news can bring significant price action many people will not wait to invest/ trade again. Wait and see because we need proof not rumors.
It is even funny that these days, news are no longer being bought, and people would rather stick with price action than seeing news as anything they should be relying on in this space. We all know how some positive development have come up for a while now and the fact that the market has reacted opposite to it, so in a way, we will just be deceiving ourselves to think some fundamentals will work but it does not.

I just believe the market is moving based on how it just wants to move, or how the institution want it to move and nothing else, and for the most part of it all, probably until we start seeing a more matured market, before we may actually get to start seeing news bringing about anything when it comes to movement.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Determining A ShitCoin on: November 01, 2018, 01:05:47 PM
Apart from the team scrutinizing and the whitepaper as you mentioned, availability of a minimum viable product as well as business solution is something you really want to be checking out first.

In fact, personally, whitepaper is usually the last thing i check. Basically, I visit the website, look at the team, check their LinkedIn profile page as I believe in this jet age, there is actually no excuse for a well-informed team and experienced one not to have a LinkedIn profile page over the years, and with this I check their past experience, dig further on them if they are for real, contact some of them if I could, ask questions on their ANN and social media pages, and then from there I look if there is an MVP.

As long as the team is serious and ready for business, there should always be a MVP before I even start considering going through the whitepaper for business solutions.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most of the Icos are failing main reasons on: November 01, 2018, 07:26:18 AM
Not to mention that there are ICOs who were run by scammers. Too good if it happens that the truth is revealed in an early stage. But yes, I agree a working product is a good indicator for its success.
I honestly don't think they are scamming people, I mean there was the dude that took everyone money and ran with it and left the website with "penis" written on it to troll the investors. That dude definitely did scam everyone and just recently we have seen that Pearl owner has printed a lot more pearls for himself and sold all of it causing the price to plummet and than ran with all the bitcoin he made from the sale. There are scam stories like that all the time but they are probably just 10% of all ICO stories. Rest of it, the 90% is actually teams that can't manage to run a proper business and actually succeed on being the ICO they promised to be. They either try and fail or they are too lazy to actually do it. All of them fail at what they suppose to do not because they are "bad" people but because they suck at what they do.

The viability of altcoins depends on the performance of the project team, and the usefulness and importance of the project itself.
But many people are not bothering about these but rushing to start a new ICO just to loot innocent people's money. There are two category of failing in ICOs : failure due to improper management and intentional scams. Improper management include the factors you have mentioned and the other category is just about what most people here are referring.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should We Diversify Our Investments? on: November 01, 2018, 05:31:54 AM
Common wisdom for new investors is always of the 'don't put all your eggs in one basket' type. Don't invest all your investment capital in one company. Diversify so that at least if  one investment fails, the other will carry you through. Is there a similar type of advice for crypto currency investors? Is it better to concentrate on investment in just one crypto currency? Or should we diversify? I would love to know what others have to say about this.
It all depends on how much money you have. The more you have the more diversification you will need. If you have at most couple hundred bucks than you do not have to, I mean you can still get couple coins but don't really need to diversify $200 at all. If you have couple thousand dollars than you can diversify in crypto and get tens of different coins and you can spend most of your money on known coins and put smaller amounts for some new coins that has a potential to skyrocket in the future (only put up like 1% of your investments into these).

If you have hundreds of thousands of dollars (which I have seen in crypto world some people have it) than you should surely diversify outside of crypto as well, put up some of it to stocks, others into bonds, some into golds and even real estate lands if you can afford to. Putting all of your money is a bigger risk if you have a lot of money, if you diversify into multiple stuff than you will be safe from any drops in one of them.
