281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether is hacked. 8 million Ether (shit) tokens stolen. It will crash and die. on: June 23, 2016, 01:24:54 PM
I can't see LTC doing any good  Huh

LTC as in the community, or the LA, or the devs, or all of the above? Because I can tell you that those involved in Litecoin as involved in quite a bit, but there isnt much news generated so not much attention is given to it. Let me know what you mean, im curious and would love to let you know whats going on with Litecoin Smiley.

Good to see you around some more, sir!
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon's A4 Dominator, 1.2W/Mhs 14nm ASIC and miner, open for Partners on: June 22, 2016, 05:24:33 PM
I also confirmed via email that the info we have seen about the 260mh, roughly 1000w, $1800 for the pre-order miner is true.  This does NOT come with PSU's to keep shipping costs down.  I have asked for pictures and video of the miner and have questions for them regarding the 30 day warranty.  I also asked them about a group buy here on BCT.  So I will start a new thread for the group buy and hope that Innosilicon will partner with us to facilitate the group buy for those that are interested.  If any of you have had experience setting up a group buy before please chime on your experiences and what we can do to make something like this happen and be a smooth experience for all of us interested in taking part in this "adventure".  :-)

i personally would NOT be interested, pre-orders are just throwing yourself at their mercy. i will wait till they have them in hand and come with BTC, snag one. too much can change in the months till we would actually receive the miner. for me anyways ;p

Agreed. No more pre-orders.
283  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Can i place a S7 miner in a normal fridge or freezer to cool it down in silence on: June 22, 2016, 03:20:34 PM
No. You will burn up the fridge/freezer as its compressor is not designed for that kind of load.
284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The geeks are the new millionaires in this digital age. on: June 20, 2016, 06:26:44 PM
Im no early adopter but Id guess my story holds true for a majority of users who were.

I joined in 2012, after the first bubble to $32, with a price of about $5-7 per bitcoin. At the time I hadnt bought any, only mined, but at one point I remember adding up all the coins I had ever owned and it was around 200 (not a lot but Id like to have them all back now). When the price went to $30 I got excited and sold some. Then it went to $100 and I sold more, then $200 and I sold, etc etc etc... At some point I realized my mistake and started buying back coins. Im still very very far from the 200 I once had but I also am now invested in more than just BTC.

I assume most people who have been active the entire time sold a majority of their coins early and now wish they hadnt. The ones who managed to keep the coins probably lost/forgot about bitcoin for awhile and are now very happy or just got lucky and held on through it all.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon's A4 Dominator, 1.2W/Mhs 14nm ASIC and miner, open for Partners on: June 20, 2016, 05:16:58 PM
email response from Innosilicon  (A4 miners is open for pre-order now at price of 1800 USD per unit plus shipping fee, 10 units to start, with about 1000W per 260Mhs (+-10% performance variation) each and 30 days parts warranty. Delivery starts from September and max delay is one month.) you would need an order of at least 10 on first come first served, very limited quantities. It is out of my ability to buy right now, just thought I would pass the info on.

wow, this means the titans are not far in eficiency... right now, one of my titans are doing 280Mh/s and draining 1320w (at the wall), so 4.71w/mhs; the new 14nm A4 will do 3.85w/mhs? it is only 18% better?? and i think i can optimice my titan better than now...   Shocked

I get 275MH/s @ 1250w from the wall, giving me about 4.54w/mh. Thats as good as Ive been able to get it even at extremely low clocks.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether is hacked. 8 million Ether (shit) tokens stolen. It will crash and die. on: June 17, 2016, 01:19:09 PM
LOL at you if you haven't dumped your shit tokens yet! Ether is a failure. It is going to fail so hard.
If you think this shit coin has a future left now that more than 10% of its supply was stolen in less then 10 hours, you're a delusional fool.

But if you're stupid enough to listen to the idiots and keep your coins, then please feel free to do so.

Meanwhile, the legitimate BTC and LTC cryptocurrencies, TRUE CRYPTOS WITH A TRUE PURPOSE, are holding strong and being used extensively without issues.

Ether dying. LTC will take over 2nd spot again within a month.

Who would've thought LTC would beat any of the SHIT altcoins trying to take its place? It's not like SHITCOINS before Ether tried to beat LTC before... Ripple, dash, etc. etc.

LOL.

Wait, so now you are a Litecoin fan?
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin will see 10$ and above 2016 on: June 17, 2016, 01:15:48 PM
if LTC price goes down, its an opportunity to buy some, isn't it? Smiley
bingo

Litecoin fanatics have an interesting way to look at things.

Price goes up? Told you, Litecoin is Bitcoin's silver
Price goes down? Great time to buy

As long as you are happy, who care about the profit. Smiley

Profit? Check out the mining difficulty. Its been bouncing between 40k and 50k for about 18 months now. Price has also been stable and always on the positive side of things.
The $400+ I make in profit a month does make me happy.

I will say that the price being so stable isnt good for day traders - but Im no trader so that doesnt hurt me any.

Pretty impressive. Id like to take a tour of some of these massive mines although I know it would never happen due to the security risk.
290  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Dried Morel mushrooms! $10 per oz. High quality caps only! (stems removed) on: June 14, 2016, 05:31:35 PM
Received. Haven't tried them yet, but they look good!

Same here. I just got a small bag but they look good. I'll maybe make some this evening or later in the week.

thank you sir!
291  Economy / Speculation / Re: Over $700 and $11,000,000,000 market cap. on: June 14, 2016, 03:49:16 PM
Anyone recall the market cap in late 2013 when the price hit ATH? I seem to recall it was pretty close to where we are now, given the increase in coin supply. Reaching new highs in market cap should garner some headlines, continuing the round of positive press associated with Chinese buying and the halvening.

I thought the same when I saw we had passed $10 Billion. Looking here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/ it shows on Nov 22nd the price was $701.95 and the cap was at about $8.4 Billion. The all time high cap looks like just shy of $14 Billion. Based on this, Id say we will pass the all time high market cap when we get to around $895 a coin.

Hahaha, how is that sub 0.008 btc/ltc working out for you, noobies? Smiley

Could be pretty good depending on your view point.  Wink
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 03, 2016, 02:06:20 PM
Chips would be the key. To be honest their implosion power design and using off the shelf supplies with brains was probably one of the best ideas ever. Those supplies aren't that bad.

Likewise their carrier chip is not a bad idea: It's rigid enough to hold the dies well, and with a proper heat sink on the top and non-insane overclocking it drops the heat pretty well out of the top of the die. No shortage of hash powr (the .7v) down there either.

They just cheaped the hell out on the clocks, sensors, and supporting circuitry. I would love to see a nice temp probe in the center of that chip, or one in the center and one at each edge. That would allow control and a safe power down of the chip if the temp spikes.

But I would never design a miner. They all have a life span measured in months, and to be honest if you only have to have it survive 6 months designing anything better is a total waste of money. If you slow it down a bit to save parts, people will buy someone else's chinese rocket crap. Fair enough. The Titans are probably the first and only miner that has lasted for well over a year now and is still profitable. How could they have known that every other Scrypt maker would go tits up?

That is why my #1,2,3 recommendation to all titan owners is to slow the hell down a bit. Enjoy the money coming in, don't burn the goose because this might be around for awhile.

C

I thought the same in that from a manufacturing standpoint it doesnt make financial sense to make a real quality miner simply because it will only run for months before its trashed. Maybe if they made one design and were able to update it to use newer chips (like a motherboard accepting different model CPUs) as they come out or something. Then you just trash the actual ASIC chip rather than the whole miner ever few months.

Ive also lowered the clocks on my titan to 275mhz on all dies based on your recommendations. It also helps me with the spring/summer heat and gives a slightly better mh/watt ratio - so its win win win.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcointalk Users DON'T READ ALTCOIN ANN's?! on: May 27, 2016, 03:14:52 PM
Not surprising at all, bitcoin believers/fanboys doesn't care about altcoin period.
I'm interested in altcoins but not enough to read through the garbage in the announcements.  In fact I have that section on ignore and I have never regretted that.  And there are waaay too many shitcoins coming out anyway. Too many to keep track of,  much less be interested in.

Bingo, Same here. Its been quite a long long time since I visited that section of the forum and I couldnt be happier.

Ive just had morels for the first time this spring. How would you prepare them since they are dried?

edited: fixed the link Smiley

The only issue I have with this is Ether. Why allow ether before Litecoin? Maybe Im just sore because Ive been mining and selling ETH for awhile now with zero interest in keeping it.
However, I do think its good to have a reputable exchange available to purchase different coins with more ease.

Over all a good bit of news.

Oh, and yeah... Litecoin is totally, completely, absolutely and with out a doubt 'officially' dead....  Roll Eyes

298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Adding more than 6 GPUS to a rig on: May 12, 2016, 02:51:51 PM
If the AMD supports 8 to 16 GPUs in one rig with splitters, then it might be good to buy it and use it.

Im not so sure...

I dont know what the max the software/drivers can support is but if we go just on pcie slots, you can get a 6 slot board and put a 3-way splitter in each giving you 18 GPUs on a motherboard. That thread said splitters were less than $200 each. $200 x 6 is $1200 just in splitters to run 18 GPUs. You can get 5 slot boards with CPU and RAM for about the same cost. So 6 boards will give you 30 GPUs for about the same price.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mirrax's HIGH RISK altcoin investment guide for 2016 on: May 12, 2016, 01:49:57 PM

I have to confirm that. - Mirrax = Conquerer just for clarification.

Regards,
ChekaZ

I am not miraks or Conquerer.
Right spelling is Mirrax/Conqueror

The link about is FTC team opinion which i do not share.
In fact i see such accusations as wrong and not acceptable.
This decision is huge shame for FTC team and will not be forgotten.

Sorry if I have this wrong, but here is what it looks to me what happened:

Kraken gave Mirrax 100000FTC to deliver as bounty for smart contract implementation. When the price shot up, Kraken gave direction to sell the FTC for BTC at 9500. Mirrax sold the coins at 4000 instead before it got that high. Now Kraken is asking for the funds returned and Mirrax is refusing to send anything (not 100000FTC, not 9.5BTC, not 4BTC). Is that correct? And are you the person making this decision to hold these funds? If so why? They were dedicated for smart contract creation, so the only person who should have a right to keep the funds indefinitely is the person who develops smart contracts for FTC.

Again sorry if I have this wrong, but what am I missing? What accusations are unacceptable?
Please add into your puzzle that I was the only one who made any progress in that particular bounty by myself.

If thats true then it just adds another layer that I dont like. If you are holding the bounty then Id think you should be a neutral 3rd party and not be eligible to receive it yourself. Not to put all blame on you, I also dont like that you were told to sell at 9000. If Kraken wanted to sell at that price even if only to increase the bounty by selling high and buying low) then it should have been done with other funds and then added to the bounty. The original bounty coins should have been kept offline on a wallet and not touched for any reason other than to pay a user for meeting the goals of the bounty or returning to Kraken after a set time has passed of no one meeting set goals.

Mirrax, I find it difficult to believe you are truly a scammer and hope this all is resolved soon. That said, Im not taking sides here as I dont like the way any of this was handled - by either party.
300  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Rack Mounting for S7 on: May 11, 2016, 08:02:38 PM
you can place 3 units of S7 side by side on normal server rack!

You just need shelf installed

Has anyone considered building a rack chassis to house 3 Antminer s7 in a rack mount

I am thinking of colocating some equipment Hetzner. Pricing isn't to bad

How many shelves can you fit like this in a 42U rack? Not that Im in the position to build such a setup. Just curious. Smiley

EDIT: Looks like 6-7 should fit. Cool.
