581  Economy / Goods / Re: Laser Engraved Bitcoin/Litecoin Cards (Public ID and BIP38 encrypted cards) on: January 18, 2014, 05:59:48 PM
No reviews despite several people saying they would do so. By now many cards should have been received. What's going on?

Got mine today, my birthday! Smiley

The card is slightly longer and not as wide as a credit card. I am still able to fit it in my wallet where my credit cards go but it is a little tight. it seems think enough to withstand most normal use without damage. You could bend them if you really tried and if kept in a wallet I could see them bending slightly over time but nothing I wouldnt expect. I was able to scratch it pretty easily with a pocket knife which was disappointing but over all Im pleased and could see buying again. The card looks exactly like what is displayed on the website but here is a front/back shot of mine.

Feel free to send a tip to the QR code if this was any help Wink

My card should be here soon I would assume. Maybe by the end of the week or so. I'll post my review with pics as soon as it arrives.

Order placed, so far so good.

Promo code works and gives an appreciated discount Smiley

Looks like the company is out of Canada and uses Bitpay for bitcoin processing.

I received an email confirmation from Bitpay and Crtpto-Cards.com.

I'll report back once I receive the card.

EDIT: oops, Correction, I did not receive an email from Bitpay, my mistake.
586  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitcoin in a storefront on: January 07, 2014, 05:32:32 PM
How can Bitcoin be used in a standard, 'brick and mortar' storefront? Are there any services available for this yet, other than a laptop/smartphone with a bitcoin wallet on it?

A friend of mine who is a software developer recently mentioned to me that he would like to build a cheap point-of-sale system for local merchants in our area. A number of places here are cash only because they cant afford to process credit cards. I told him about Bitcoin but I dont know of any existing services that could be used for this.

Thoughts?

I think Im going to order one, I'll post pics and some quick thoughts on quality once I receive it.

Just wanted to say i was looking for tracking too so i just checked my spam box and tho i didnt find tracking # i did find the email that was sent on the 23rd stating my order was shipping and sent to customs ..

So yeah, gmail is tossing these in the spam box for whatever reason. Marked it "not spam" and moved it to my inbox.. Hopefully when tracking comes i get it ... so check your spam box people ..

I just saw exactly the same thing, no tracking yet (order in 700's) but I did see their notification email was sent to my gmail spam folder.

Smiley

Can someone confirm the quality of the cards when you receive them? They look great on the website.
Id also like to hear about the quality.

Also, do you accept Bitcoin/Litecoin as payment? I only see Paypal as an option.

Im sorry but I think I decided to keep the cards for now. Maybe this spring Ill part with them.

Again, sorry for the trouble.
591  Economy / Computer hardware / [END] [WTS] (3) 5850s (1) 5770 on: January 05, 2014, 12:45:34 AM
Ive got some video cards Id like to part with. They were bought used and were used to mine Bitcoins and now Litecoins. Im tired of the noise and am selling one of my rigs. The cards are 3 Sapphire 5850 reference cards and 1 5770 reference. One of the cards has had its fan replaced and one is held together with tape. The screw posts broke from me opening the card to clean out dust so many times. Temps have been kept at 70C or less for the entire time Ive owned them.

Looks like 5850s are going for ~$40ish on ebay, not sure about the 5770. Im also not sure what shipping would be yet. If there is interest I can get pics.

Make me an offer in BTC, LTC, FTC, or XMP, otherwise they will go to ebay.

thanks

I know mining BTC on GPU is no comparison to scrypt coins converted to BTC. I guess the $/MH value is more of what I was looking for.

I have about 7MH and make about $45 worth of LTC a day. Ive been thinking about trying to mine and convert to BTC more than I have in the past.

0.04BTC is about $31 right now, with the same 5MH I can mine $32 of LTC a day. (as of right now)

I didnt read through this whole thread so I apologize if this has been mentioned.

Two questions/comments about this pool.

1. Has anyone done any calculations that show roughly how much more profit can be made mining here vs mining BTC directly? (I realize that mining BTC with GPU now is pointless, but Id like to see this compared to something) Maybe even converted to USD?

2. How hard would it be to modify the pool to allow a user to be paid out in BTC or LTC? This may make things more difficult than its worth but its a suggestion.

Refund pending once received can we agree to removing all negative bashing?

You're all Timmy Tough Nuts until we findout who you really are and now you want to patch everything up? Ha, I say fuck off.

stfu I could care less it was for the benefit of doubt for this thread to progress in a positive way and not these negative comments in it

Funny how people change when their true colors show through.

598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: eBay prices out of whack with reality? on: December 31, 2013, 05:01:49 PM
Id say the biggest reason is people not knowing what they are doing and think they can just buy some device to "make money". Other than that availability of the devices is a factor. You can buy an order for an ASIC for a cheaper $/GH/s rate but you wont have the device for months/years. a block erupter is much less efficient and more expensive in the $/GH/s but you can get it by the end of the week.

Not saying I would personally buy one at these prices, but it is something to think about.

Any1 with luck here? Stats page broken and kathy unresponsive...

I requested a payout over a month ago, was working with them to get it complete but my last few emails seem to have been overlooked. The last reply I have from Coinlab is Dec 6th....
I realize its the holidays right now, but from the 6th to at least the 20th was not.

New members should take the time to read and understand what they are getting into before throwing a ton of money at a shitcoin.
