How would one verify an offline wallet, OFFLINE?
not possible, the receiver has to check it online before accepting the bill and transfer the amount away. one possibility could be a trusted third party check the oflline wallet during print out of the bill but then the problem is after print out someone can use the private key and transfer the amount away. a quick check would be to check if the public adress was used already in the past. if not the bill has the whole amount. EDIT: nonsense, offline wallet has to be loaded therefore it was used already! The selling point of paper money or coin money is that the value of the token is already established and knowledge that once the token exchanges owners the value of it transfers as well as 100 percent of the control. I do not think that having bitcoin paper money is going to act 100 percent like the precived notion of existing paper or metal monetary tokens. My thoughts are that we need to revisit the intended use of the paper wallet for everyday transactions. Thoughts?

Scam. This sends the keys back to a SERVER.
NO THANK YOU
Where in the source code is the code that does that? I don't know. Can you show me where or where it does not? If it is a scam please confirm, if not please prove me wrong. I am not trying to discredit anyone.

BBB is EVIL. If one is BBB acredited then that company is ALWAYS RIGHT.
Fuck that.
Lets come up with something with standards that we NEED not copy off of something else!

It might be a good idea for myself to speak with the members of TX/RX and see about getting an informal BITCOIN NIGHT for non members of TX/RX that is NOT a Friday night.
Thoughts?
I think that is a great idea, I would show up for that. I took some welding classes at TX/RX about a year ago but have never had a chance to get back due to time problems. It is a great place though. It is a great place. I show up on Friday nights when I can. I am not a member but it really is a great place. I emailed one of the members that is interested in Bitcoin about their thoughts. I will keep you in touch. There was a discussion on the email list about four months ago regarding finding alternative payment methods for TX/RX dues. Bitcoin might be a good suggestion for that. Does TXRX have a donation address?

Prepaid is not the answer. Neither is setting up a local bank account. You could just get cash and stuff it somewhere.

my BTC.02:
I host my GPG key in my Dropbox. I also keep the revocation there, in case I lose the private key.
and they're talking about this:

That is a signed message from Bitcoin-qt using my private key that has the public key of 1mantis assigned to it. you do know to verify a signed message, we need your bitcoin address you signed with, the message you signed, and signature. The only thing you gave us is the signature we can't do anything with that. Well i didn't know that. Is there a tutorial out there that explains how to use bitcoin signed messages properly? As you can see I am trying to put all my verifiable credentials in my signature. short tutorial, sign your message with unique information to the address, so no one can steal your signature and pass it off as them. To verify a sign message you need the signature, the message, and bitcoin address and with the official bitcoin client can only be done with RPC commands. I think I will leave the signed message out... What do you think of my signature now? A lot more cleaner I think!

Looks like my bit cheque still has a balance. Come on people. If you did a search on this forum you will see I used the same passphrase as my last contest. It is ripe for the picking at 119 confirmations.
And we have a winner!

I might be willing to make the three and a half hour drive for a Houston Bitcoin meet-up if I don't have to be at work early the next day.
