BONUS ROUND!

I generated a disposable private key address and funded it with a random amount of BTC

I have encrypted the private key using AES 128bit pass phrase.

Once someone figures out the pass phrase and imports the resulting private key, please post the value along with the public key to this forum.

HAVE FUN! GOOD LUCK!

I mighta screwed something up. But I got ;172o99PvSUdQrBktwEwmXFAwL8XYnPq8PV

{"balance":0}

encoded my password worked!

Thank you!
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Error Decrypting Wallet using Blockchain.info API on: July 13, 2012, 10:22:32 PM
Well, the API worked right for me. I have double encryption enabled (but not two-factor authentication).

I recommend that you double-check for typos (as well as accidental spaces) on the URL you're using to access the API.

It looks like the typo isn't in the guid, because then it wouldn't return "Error Decrypting Wallet" but "GUID Invalid". So the only reason I see for it not to work on your side is that you're passing the wrong password to the API.

it could be the password. i am using a pretty strong one generated by lastpass

You still doing these?
728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How do I decrypt the Blockchain.info email backup wallet? on: July 13, 2012, 09:56:20 PM
Double encryption might be the issue but i can't say for sure.

So..... care to tell me how you got the api working! :-D
729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Error Decrypting Wallet using Blockchain.info API on: July 13, 2012, 09:55:35 PM
I am using something like this

a1701279-fe40-0352-035d-561dbe74f353

and not this is not the guid i am using Tongue
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Error Decrypting Wallet using Blockchain.info API on: July 13, 2012, 09:05:17 PM
I just tried with one of my Blockchain wallets, and it worked fine.

1st troubleshooting idea: are you sure you're putting the lengthy and random identifier on the URL, and not the wallet nickname?

2nd troubleshooting idea: if the password contains spaces or other special characters, they may need to be encoded to conform with the specification for URLs. Some browsers do the conversion automatically, for others you'll need to encode it yourself using a service like http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/dencoder/

so the blah-blah-blah-blah that i am using with the /wallet url  is not what I am supposed to be using?

Where is this identifier that you are speaking of?

Hello. So yesterday night I decided to transfer some money to my Bitstamp account. So I made a EU bank transfer through my bank, and this morning when I checked my bank page it said that 65 Euro had been transfered to Bitstamps Bank.

However when I log into Bitstamp I have no money added!!! Are they trying to scam me or is it normal that its a delay like this :s?

The money might not appear in their account until Monday. Then it might take a day or two before they credit your account with the funds. Basically the wire itself is instantaneous, but after that there is a bunch of bureaucratic human crap that can take a while. So you have some waiting to do before suspecting a scam I think.

When banks get involved, shit that should only take a moment takes days!

A true bitcoin enthusiast would do it for free. IMHO

733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Personal contribution of 5,000 BTC to affected Bitcoinica customers on: July 13, 2012, 07:38:25 PM
You should really keep the funds for when the intersango guys try to sue you:(

This is not your fault.

They can't sue him - he is a child.

And how do you know it's not his fault?  He had more inside knowledge than anyone and it would have been easy for him to hack in and steal the coins and destroy the database.  The police were never called for some reason...

intersango never called the police for some reason... Hmm...

This, to me, is the most damning evidence. Why would statists like the InterSango guys, who have made so much noise about being "registered" and "regulated" never call the police who are supposed to protect them from exactly this kind of fraud?

Forget the scammer tag...how about a "felon" tag?

Scammer tag is red Xs. What would a felon tag be?

737  Other / Meta / Re: Forum slowness on: July 13, 2012, 06:39:25 PM
Is it just me, or is the forum really slow at the moment?

Error 118 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out.

Confirmed here in Houston, TX. Was getting that error about an hour ago.
738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bling Bling version of the original Bitcoin logo on: July 13, 2012, 06:27:00 PM
I think the edges and grooves need to be more defined in a darker color, but other than that, i am diggin it!

Can you make an EPS or PDF file available?

I totally agree. Let me see what I can do this weekend.
(EPS/PDF should be possible, however only the 1's and 0's are scalable vectors.)

Do you have a donation address?

Just added one to my signature.

would be very useful if 100 percent of the art was VECTOR
739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we need a comprehensive guide for making SAFE bitcoin apps!! on: July 13, 2012, 06:07:09 PM
There definitively needs to be a Standard Operating Procedure or ISO that EVERY shop that handles Bitcoin can follow.
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Direct Deposit? on: July 13, 2012, 06:05:56 PM
The bad thing about this is if the market tanks before people withdraw and convert to USD... well you get the idea.

But if the market skyrockets then WHOOO!!! No complaints here Smiley
