21  Economy / Economics / Re: Ever dreamt of turning your passion into profit? on: May 05, 2024, 06:58:59 AM
one person i know becomes a businessman after his child's dog breeds with its fellow dog. they took the dog into the park and it just breeds with another there. at first, they didn't mind when the dog became pregnant. after it gave birth to 6 pups, they went to facebook groups for help on how to raise those pups and then a few people were just asking to buy the puppies. after that day they plan to breed their dogs instead.

now even the chickens they have are being crossbred with another to produce some chicken. it has become his business already. their passion to grow with their business. their passion surely helped.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: May 05, 2024, 06:05:47 AM
i have influenced someone but it was just my brother. and the money he used to invest in BTC was also the one i gave to him  Grin i guess it's just the only way i can make him feel how investors feel when they have something to be proud of.

after influencing him to own some BTC, i advised him not to feel very confident in trading even when he learned it well. somehow you can't prevent them from investing in something else such as memecoins.  Grin
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could China (or similar) take control of Bitcoin? on: May 04, 2024, 09:48:36 PM

But don't worry about it, Bitcoin can't be taken over easily, because it's a global network of thousands of computers and mining has proof of work, which makes it very expensive to take over.

While I agree that it wouldn't be some kind of global catastrophe, I think that in this thread at least, we've established that China absolutely could take control of Bitcoin if they wanted to...

China is more concerned about their money being used by their people. it will be more disastrous for their CBDC.

i don't think they can take over Bitcoin, they may however have more than 50% but more countries will do the same if they have plans like this. BlackRock who is somehow investing in mining farms can also do the same. it's just a battle of hashrates. but won't it just end up having their own BTC fork and they will just be the only ones who will be using that forked coins?
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think US Paypal Users would be interested in buying cryptocurrency? on: May 04, 2024, 09:17:59 PM
Quote
Also, for many people (for example, the elderly and uneducated), buying, storing, using bitcoin is something extremely complicated and therefore, such people will be very happy to use the services of intermediaries, like PayPal. Which, in a way, also act as a guarantor of security, which will be taken advantage of by their clients who want to shift responsibility to Paypal.
I don't see any difference between this and buying a Bitcoin ETF. Paypal has been known to lock users accounts ( I don't know if they have changed) who speak ill against them on social media or online.
I don't think PayPal offers crypto custody service. PayPal only serves as a payment service provider that facilitates the buying and selling of crypto. The owner can always transfer the coins to his choice wallet. So this service is different from ETF where buyers don't control or have custody of their investment.
It's true that the service is not the same as what ETF is offering, but they are also offering a custodian service for people who buy crypto from them and decide to hold it there without withdrawing. Is that not them helping the person to hold their coin for them? Is custody service far from that?
I was wrong and I apologize for the misinformation. I just checked PayPal services on crypto and you are correct. They also offer custodian services just like exchanges. Only people with little knowledge about such platforms will keep huge funds in them. These platforms can easily be manipulated by regulatory agencies.

Oh yes, they can help you withdraw it to any wallet of your choice after you purchase from them. Then what? They will keep track of where even every bit of that coin is moved to start from your first withdrawal, unless you use some privacy service. Once the authorities ask for your data, they will hand it over without any second thought.
Of course, anyone dealing with these centralized platforms such as PayPal should be aware that they have lost privacy. This is the same thing with centralized exchanges and other centrally run crypto service providers. Using an anonymity tool is a must if you want to enjoy privacy after patronizing these platforms.

in the currency exchange forum on this board, there are users trading BTC for Paypal actually which is kind of anonymous if you keep this trading this way. you contact a user and make a deal outside a platform.

but i'm not sure if Paypal is still useful today. that's why i don't see many users accepting Paypal unless they are up for bigger rates in using PayPal.
but it sure if a user buys BTC on Paypal itself, the anonymity is already over.

25  Economy / Economics / Re: Take care of your money and learn to save. on: May 04, 2024, 09:12:25 PM

people who criticize are always the ones who haven't achieved more than you have. It's always that way when you have money, they come forward and be on your side but when you have nothing, you are set aside and even discredits your achievements.

it's best to just keep silent when you have money and never show them your success. not everyone on your side is your friend. sometimes they are just waiting for your failures.
26  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN AT 63K. What should we expect moving forward? on: May 04, 2024, 08:19:59 PM
After the latest news related to the FED meeting, and having US elections by the end of the year, I guess it is quite likely to go up during the next months

it may seem like a quick bounce but we were actually going down for several weeks since 70k +. i couldn't really say we are going back up to $70k again. but that FED meeting does set up the stage because no hike was announced.

if we go straight to win big and break that resistance in 74k i guess the halving is taking effect already and it's breaking the golden ratio rule.  i like it when it hits those who expect a lower price and then suddenly leave them behind.  Grin
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 Altcoins under $0.1 to Buy in May on: May 04, 2024, 07:42:25 PM

SKALE (SKL) looks cool and for a 2nd layer solution, it seems undervalued.

if i just have some budget for more altcoins i might just give this project a try. among the list it's the Vechain that i have held for more than a year already. i'm an MMA fan so i can see the project name promoted usually on UFC cages, it should be known to the fan of this sport. its just frustrating that the price is still less than $0.10
28  Economy / Economics / Re: Food shortages coming to the United Kingdom, BUT - on: May 04, 2024, 07:00:11 PM
They do it on purpose. It is all fabricated. Just like covid. Seriously though, why haven't anybody caught covid19 this winter?

I see nobody is fainting on the streets anymore.
Mate, are you serious?

The first virus recorded was almost over 4 years ago now and since then many has changed. Scientists and doctors worked hand in hand to find different ways of prevention and cure for covid19. They came up with vaccines and had everyone vaccinated. Another reason why people are not fainting due to covid19 is because their body have built an immunity to it already. Basically covid19 virus is more or less just the colds now.

Do you think some diseases weren't considered as plagues and deadly back then when they were first discovered?

Quote
Come to think of it, I only see these fainting people on the internet and they were from China. I never saw it anywhere else.
Where do you live? because everywhere else in the world, people were just not fainting, but they were dying.

and people are not wearing masks anymore these days. we have been lied to but we all believed it. i still have boxes of masks at home it has become a habit already to take one whenever we get out.

i can agree that this is really fabricated by the governments conspiring with each other and just like mentioned above. Klaus Schwab encouraging people to eat bugs is like the craziest ideas. i wonder iff he himself is eating bugs.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: BRICS has become eleven countries instead of five. on: May 03, 2024, 08:28:11 PM
The problem is coming up with an agreement specially with weasel regimes like the Chinese who want to force Yuan on everyone replacing the dollar and nobody wants that Cheesy
It is impossible to predict what they'd do in the end.

I don't think any BRICS member would want to be linked financially to each other with one currency. These countries are all very authoritarian in their own ways and I don't think they trust each other that much  Grin

Imagine the king of Saudi having to trust Iran with a single currency. I don't see that happening.

Why would Brazil want to be linked financially to say, Iran or Russia in case of sanctions or wars or something that has nothing to do with them? No thank you.

i don't think they trust anybody in their group but they were mixing all their assets afaik but not sure who will hold their assets and they come up with the currency BRICS as well. just like Europe where they have EURO. maybe its true that they will have their currency tied to each other.

however i don't think they are interested in new world order, they just want to be independent in finance and economics since most of these countries were sanctioned by US and if they can work around on their own means they are free from US sanctions.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season coming soon? on: May 03, 2024, 08:07:32 PM
I think the grapes partially right. Till now we only have seen Bitcoin to fly. But altcoins hadn't. Rather some altcoins keep down rather than pumping. It indicates that was Bitcoin era and altcoin era is yet to come. Bitcoin halving done recently. Little correction is also on the way. But when altcoins session will started then each altcoin will be huge like they were in 2021. So I'm still waiting to experience the altcoins season soon

this is why i'm beginning to think it will actually not arrive because everyone is waiting for it. in the past, i heard someone said it will come when we least expect i think we should all pretend we are not expecting it  Grin

the halving however is just why people are expecting altcoin season as it always does come. what we are not expecting is more bank runs going to happen and then even iff we experience bull market, we may not be able to cash out because of the banks shutting down.
31  Economy / Economics / Re: Production of goods and services as an economic stimulant i on: May 03, 2024, 07:26:51 PM
bigger countries with technological know-how are not sharing the technology with them though. we were so keen on fighting to "end hunger" or to make peace not war. but making the lives of others easy seem not really what they provide.

some countries dont even have a clean water supply but when Mr. Beast helped them develop hundreds of deep wells, he was canceled for doing it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58DqVM2Y5C0

for them to help themselves, they need the basic necessities but bigger countries seem preventing them in becoming economically independent.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are your holdings ready for this altcoinseason? on: May 03, 2024, 06:03:38 PM
Yeah i think so. My portfolio has changed a lot since the start of the bear market. I was accumulating some older coin but later realized that there is no point of accumulating low and mid cap altcoin as new narratives will come and will perform better than all the old narratives tokens. That is the reason i have changed my strategy and accumulated only old large cap coin and most of the mid and low cap token is new to the market and working on some new narratives like RWA, AI and DePin.

there were many of us who are joining the bandwagon when the narrative changed. when the AIs exploded a lot of users moved their assets to AI tokens and so was the change when RWA also was in the headlines. it sure depends on what was in the news but some of my old stash remains as is.

but was acquiring different altcoins to ride the pumps even the memecoins. seeing some altcoins slowly climb the rank, i also tried buying some just to make sure i'm still profiting. maybe i was really preparing the long game.
33  Economy / Economics / Re: US lawmakers urge SEC to approve Bitcoin options trading on: May 03, 2024, 07:08:52 AM

binance and all other exchanges already have options trading so there is no use in holding it back. but once again this is going to make it hard for BTC to rise because this will be used to manipulate prices. if back in the days when there were no huge institutions yet the whales could suppress the price.

this time it will be a climb for the price despite the halving. of course, the SEC will approve it. may the force be with them.

35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has Satoshi's identity never been revealed ? on: May 03, 2024, 06:27:10 AM
The general public still don’t have that information but somehow I believe the US government already knows everything about him. The thing is, sharing that info with us won’t benefit them (for now) so they are keeping it secret. The gov owns all the domains and the internet infrastructure. It is impossible to stay anonymous against the gov forever.

Maybe one day we will learn who satoshi was but when that day comes, they’ll do that to achieve something else. Maybe create panic in the markets? Destroy bitcoin? Dump and pump? I don’t know, but something important will take place when it happens.

do you think they also got Satoshi's stash?

i have to believe if the US government knew him already then he could be under their watch all the time or he must have been detained underground already or buried under the desert. for the US  government, the world is just too small not to see everyone actually. the world is just like their small village with 7 houses.
36  Economy / Economics / Re: What scares me from investing in gold. on: May 03, 2024, 06:12:38 AM

the gold that costco sells are physical gold which will have less liquidity in times when everyone is also struggling. when you need to cash it out you may find it hard to find some buyers for the gold you have making it useless still. but sure you can find someone when you sell them for less which i guess makes investors scared to buy.

in the times of digital age, its always the digital assets that will work for us which are cryptocurrencies.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it valid to invest in a gaming projects? on: May 02, 2024, 08:53:15 PM
These days, the cryptocurrency market is going up, but many new projects seem to be not so great. About 90% of them are meme coins, just for quick gains and not really useful. However, there's that remaining 10% with interesting and unique concepts. It's tough to find them, though. I came across a GameFi project named "Insurrection," which is play-to-earn. It caught my eye because the game is already live, playable, and looks professional. What do you think about getting involved in a gaming project like this in the current market?
Website and Gitbook links are below:

Website: https://insurrection.games/
Gitbook: https://insurrection-app.gitbook.io/the-insurrection/

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong if you want to join and invest in a gaming project and that is valid because I am sure that you have done good research about this gaming project. and if you ask for an opinion then I will say not to invest in a game project because it is just a meme coin, and if you see it is a good and professional project then just invest a small amount.

insurrection isn't popular though. an investor will expect returns when they invest and it's best for them to just invest in well-known p2e projects. Immutable (IMX) GALA and Sandbox are the most popular as of now and although this is based on the ranking on CMC, i think the ranks are true.

time will tell for these games however. AXS was once profitable but looking at it this time, it seems the people who are still up to playing there are the ones who has no choice but to keep playing and waiting for the bull run i guess.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly I'm curious, do I need to pay taxes on Bitcoin income? on: May 02, 2024, 08:24:33 PM
I asked chatgpt, and it answered that Bitcoin transactions are generally subject to tax, just like other forms of asset transactions. Tax requirements may vary depending on the laws and regulations of the country where you are located, but in general, the following situations may require taxation
ChatGPT is unable to provide answers that correspond to reality. If there is something that makes you want an answer that is in accordance with reality, for example regarding taxation of Bitcoin income, there is no need to ask the tool, just ask here in this forum because each country has different rules regarding income tax.

I pay tax on income originating from Bitcoin and other crypto which is deducted directly by the exchange I use in my country at a predetermined amount.
I cannot escape or avoid tax cuts.

its the government, we all pay taxes. tax laws were being updated recently in US. the government is asking 44%. and irc 25% for the unrealized gains. holding BTC in your wallet means you will be asked to provide 25% of the gain. i'm not sure if this is the correct data but surely if it is then this is going to drive people mad.

every time you purchase something, i think in the receipt you can already see that you paid for the tax as well.
39  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: May 02, 2024, 07:06:16 PM
To be honest, many people have no knowledge of economics or politics and they are too delusional to think that BTC will replace fiat or banks. Even if satoshi created bitcoin with the intention of replacing fiat currency, that doesn't mean it can happen. He may be the genius in creating bitcoin but he is not the government and the government is the one who can decide what happens or should not happen in this world.

The only thing we can think of is that the government will not seek to eliminate bitcoins and instead they will be legal and can become an alternative that exists alongside fiat money and banks.
Don't be under the illusion that bitcoin is decentralized which means no one can do anything with it, they can't control it but they can ban us from using it with strong measures.

With centralized exchanges dominating the crypto market, banning "Bitcoin" should be a "piece of cake". After all, CEXs are required to comply with KYC/AML. Governments will have a registry of who bought or sold BTC at any given time. Considering that CEXs are the gateways between the Fiat and crypto worlds, banning them would prevent people to get access to the revolution. This won't stop Bitcoin, but it will reduce mainstream adoption by a large margin. Those who still want to get access to it, are going to have to buy/sell F2F (Face to Face) or P2P (Peer to Peer).

It's hard to imagine central banks will disappear anytime soon. As long as governments exist, replacing banks with BTC would only be a distant dream. At least, Bitcoin does the job it's supposed to. The future can't be predicted, so lets hope for the best. Smiley

they will not disappear as they will be replaced by CBDC. its still the central bank though. and i'm not sure if BTC is part of their plan to eliminate but there are plenty more of crypto.

i still believe in the conspiracy theorists about this collapse being planned for the CBDC.  for the CBDC to work, they need banks to fall apart.  we're going to find out what will CBDC offer in the next decade but things will get worse first and we are seeing it happening.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi Network. Legitimate or a waste of time? on: May 02, 2024, 06:16:52 PM

been hearing about the project for more years already and yet the main net has not yet been launched. now that is a scam that has been running without getting caught at all. i think all they need is a lawsuit and they will launch the mainnet lol and that is when they are going to be caught scamming.

i'm sure it is a waste of time. this is a strategy of a scam and seems like a long-term scam.  after a year from now, the bull run is over yet this PI network will still not have its live mainnet.
