861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We should start looking into Altcoins on: November 29, 2023, 06:22:54 PM
The only problem is how to pinpoint what altcoin will increase next. It's true that they might pour their profits into Altcoins like how it was years ago because this is how making profits is but it actually doesn't stay that way for a long time. Once Bitcoin plunged down next it sold those Altcoin to buy Bitcoin back.
But I don't think that's now. The FOMO is high in Bitcoin because of the upcoming ETF and then there's the halving. I mean, what is a year to us investors, it will be like waking up the next day and it's already a year. Time flies fast and while they can ride the boat at this price, many investors will use their purchasing power to make a profit when ETF is approved.
It's not bad to buy a little bit of those altcoins that you mentioned, just be sure that you are also ready when Bitcoin starts pumping.

That's the million dollar question. According to Solidus Rug Pull Report from 2022 there were already 350 new scam tokens released daily and amount was only growing so who knows how many there are today.

So when picking the token, i often thought that i should stay away from old small caps as they were most likely long died projects. And i should either invest to mid/high caps or low caps with ton of active development, enough funding left.
But especially old small caps that would have any future are rare to find and don't necessarily raise with the rest of the bull run. So i thought i should invest to new coins and tokens instead. Those often raise from nothing and get fomo for no real reason. But they do often get gains before collapsing. But solidus report confirms something most of us knew, that changes to find new rising star from all the scams are slim to none

when the old small caps don't die and turn into a scam, they are still going to gain investors when new investor of crypto sees the price increase. it's the nature of a bull run since the price of altcoins relies on BTC price, whenever BTC prices go high so are their prices which attracts investors looking for profit. for them, they are all rising stars.

the worse part is that they use BTC to buy those altcoins which means they sold their BTC for these altcoins.
862  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of war on global economy. on: November 29, 2023, 05:43:23 PM
Parties to a conflict can always read the worst impacts if a conflict occurs, namely the high risk of loss of civilian lives. However, what is interesting here is that if a country wants to be safe from threats from outside, it needs a strong military force and if at any time a conflict occurs then this needs to be done immediately as an action whose negative impact is smaller than other potential dangers that will arise by the opposing party.
Quote
if a country wants to be safe from threats from outside, it needs a strong military force
This statement is true, it's just that having a strong military force without a good sense of humanity, in my opinion, all of this will be in vain because a prolonged conflict begins with greed without paying attention to humanity.

a country wouldn't be able to have a strong military force if they are sanctioned financially that's why it's necessary for countries who dominate to make those countries poor so they can't fight back. and for that to happen they enforce political intervention in those poor countries.

humanity will be ignored when existential threats are high. israel for example will not stop especially now that they are into deep in this situation for if they do stop, they will also perish. now compare it to other countries at war this time because they are all in such situation.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think that this is aperfect analogy of how gambling addiction starts? on: November 29, 2023, 05:11:31 PM

basically, it's still the dopamine that activates the addiction just as what he said about people checking the price of BTC and ETH the very time they wake up in the morning.  does Andreas also check the prices the first chance he gets when he wakes up? Cheesy  looks like he really knows what catches the attention of his followers.

i don't look at it that way though when a person gambles for the first time, they also become happy especially when they win. but i don't see this person gonna be addicted unless he comes back over and over.
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not this guy on: November 29, 2023, 03:56:51 PM
A gambler is addicted to gambling and he realizes it yet he does not want to believe that he is addicted to gambling. I have seen gamblers who bet from two accounts on the same match, one for and one against, and he lost money on most of his bets. After each loss he says he will never gamble again but whenever the next match starts he bets again. Gambling is bad for those who are addicted to gambling but gambling is good for those who can control themselves.

The person you have heard about is a gambling addict, because he is a gambling addict, if you tell him anything about gambling, he will not believe it and he himself will not believe that he is a gambling addict.

It is difficult for gamblers to gamble without becoming addicted to gambling, most gamblers become addicted to gambling although some gamblers can recover from that addiction.

still in denial just as some kids that are addicted to social media tend not to mind not logging into their account for an hour but give it a couple and they are going to look for ways to connect their phones to a wifi somewhere.

they may actually say they are not addicted because it's what they believe. but you can see them calling their gambling friends just so they can play mahjong and stay up all night for it. one that i notice about them is that they are well aware of the cheats.
865  Other / Archival / Re: Wearing Bitcoin Clothing in Public on: November 29, 2023, 03:24:33 PM
i once wore mine inside a mall. and it's the kids that are pretty much looking at me as its design was the Bitcoin King (Burger King). but that was in 2017 when only a few people recognized BTC. but i wouldn't wait for criminals bold enough to commit crimes in public. doing this today is like wearing a bullseye target. better safe than regret the next day.
866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Web3 Platforms Connecting Users with Opportunities on: November 28, 2023, 08:15:36 PM

they are not very well-known projects, they may not be valuable even if you received some airdrops you will just feel like you are scammed in the end. but if you are lucky you may find a gem

so many airdrops i missed as well.  but there are some that i found out that have just recently been launching. lots of giveaways in this page https://toneco.tonup.io/
TonUp is a launchpad for Telegram Network, they are doing marketing campaigns these days.
867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not this guy on: November 28, 2023, 07:52:18 PM
Some people remember from previous posts that I sometimes read gamblers stories. So, of all the ones I read, I was most surprised by one of them. He is already 40 years old and he streams gambling, he is forced to do this because he is deeply in debt and drives even more people there and he doesn't care at all that they can ruin their destinies. He can lose any amount of money. And as you said, he doesn’t care about anything as long as he’s breathing or until he’s physically affected (for example, they put him behind bars and he won’t be able to play). Until they doing this, he will always find a computer and do this constantly. I don’t understand what’s going on in his head, but there are such people and they are among us, although you don’t meet them often. I don’t understand how his parents will feel when they find out about the amounts he lost. These are the people I would call completely addicted to gambling. They are dangerous to society, it seems to me that he could break loose at one moment, although they look very harmless.

i don't see them as a danger to society but only to themselves. but if they have responsibilities like a wife and kids, he really needs to be slapped. parent will get hurt but thats just what they can do.  it will hurt them more if the person is in prison.

i know one gambler from my childhood, he used to be my buddy in my old town. he is the son of a fisherman, considerably middle class who owns a big boat but he turned out to be a gambler. i go out to college and he stays in the fishing community so when i got back after years, i saw him already a banker in a mini gambling house in our area.

one story i heard about him from friends also was that he won a huge amount and then suddenly spends like a sailor in our village. when all his money was gone, no friends came to help him. his wife died hungry hugging an empty casserole but this part i made it up.  Grin
868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the largest meme coin ever? on: November 28, 2023, 07:18:26 PM
I think DOGE is the biggest meme coin that has ever existed in the crypto market, because DOGE is a coin that was really created for the change and development of crypto currency, where its profits can surpass even BTC, and that really is a reality where Several years ago, Doge coin holders were able to make huge profits,

the old users of doge that got around 9 figures are the biggest winners of this coin. so yep i believe this is the biggest but i can't also discredit Shib which after it was listed on Robinhood, the exchange changed its neta phrase just to shill Shib to the investors. you have to believe there is someone on Robinhood who knew the people behind the Shib project.

the exchange is making the project look bigger than just pump and dump when they have that Shibarium. i think SHIB is going to replace Doge after.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: November 28, 2023, 07:06:06 PM
so many people in crypto are rich. they are investors and at the same time gamblers in the case. they are just passing time waiting for the bull run.

in the list of bets on casinos, there are lots of bets ranging from $1 to $1000 for a single roll of dice. you can already tell who are those high rollers and not. gambling is for all. casinos are inclusive as long as you can deposit something, you are welcome. especially the online casino, you don't even have to dress up in order to play.
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy with unusual/strange gambling sites on: November 28, 2023, 06:09:04 PM
Nowadays there are so many gambling sites and casinos that it is very difficult for a gambler to find a proper and safe site. Most of the time such members who are new to gambling are exposed to wrong gambling sites that cheat gamblers. Gambling is already very risky so I have no desire to make this risky game more risky. For gambling I will prefer the site which is more reliable and trustworthy. I have no experience of gambling in normal gambling sites because I am involved in crypto currency and through this forum there is a lot of information about gambling sites so based on that information I prefer to gamble on those sites which are safe. Since I have premium gambling sites, I have no need to gamble on normal gambling sites.

Most of these new gambling sites offer uncommon bonuses that look very attractive. Some of them have good intentions and want to build a good reputation in the gambling industry but others might just want to deceive people and scam them. When I see such ads the first thing I do is to research the casino to determine how reliable they are. I will check if it is registered and the licence that it carries. The next step will be to read the terms of service. But to save yourself from all this stress just focus on casinos that have a presence in the forum. This is because some of these sites that review gambling platforms are not trustworthy. Casinos in this forum are well monitored and members of the forum will be able to report any problem they experience in the casino.
Most of the gambling or casino sites that you will come across with advertisements and offer huge amounts of money are likely to be scams but not all of them are good casinos or gambling sites if monitored carefully. Earning through referrals can be a bonus income for us but if we connect a new gambler to a bad casino through a referral, he may be cheated later on. We will definitely earn bonus income through referral but it must be good casino site or gambling site. If a new gambler can be introduced to a good quality casino site then he will not be cheated from that gambling site even if he loses money by gambling.

this forum still keeps those casinos in check. once the community sees something is not right and the accusation is solid, the casino in question will face a lot of feedback that its operation will not be the same as they do in the past. the word spreads faster on social media as users are always on the lookout for those bad actors. and it's not gonna be easy to fix a reputation that is already damaged with pieces of evidence.
871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cosmos or PolkaDot? on: November 28, 2023, 05:53:06 PM
Theirs no coin that will not do well during the time of bullrun, so the two coins you listed I believe that during bullrun both of them get potential or accelerate from the price its to another price, I believe that any coins that survived bearish is good to have and its good to someone to invest it, so I can not judge the both coins because they are altcoins and I believe that altcoins their market is been pushed by bitcoin.

So in essence both cosmos and polkaDot, are good to go for the OP, since they both have the potentials to accelerate profitably during bull run. Although my preference in altcoins still remain ethereum, but I still see other potential altcoins, like the ones mentioned above, that can do well in bull run, after bitcoin has set the pace. Like you said I also believe that many altcoins will be profitable during the bull run, because of increased investors participation, as a result of cashing in from bitcoin. But the problem with altcoins is that how many will survive after the bull run? This is why one needs to very careful about choosing altcoins.

sort of what he is saying but i can also say, it's best to get out after the bull run. you know what happens to altcoins every time a bear market starts. the 2 i think have survived the bear market since 2021. they will survive.  the only obstacle that they may not survive is if Gensler attacks them being a security which the team has to haave at least 100M to fight a legal case. if they are not like Ripple Labs which has deep pockets for a fight, they will fall into the hands of the SEC.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Community Stablecoin - Idea on: November 28, 2023, 02:35:50 AM

ETH value is not fixed. its gotta be a big loss for holding stablecoin if this is how its done.

this stablecoin will be devalued easily like the UST of Luna when users are going to claim their ETH or sell their Xusd. some platforms even over-collateralized their stablecoin just so they are going to be safe from devaluation, especially during the bear market. DAI I think is just one of them and also the DJED of Cardano which is 4:1.

873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: November 27, 2023, 09:11:05 PM
The UFC fight card keeps getting more boring as time goes by, I have never seen an institution that is so stubborn as the UFC heads especially Dana and I think if things continues like this they would lose credibility and popularity.
We have seen Francis Ngannou leave the UFC because of the payment packages he receives and he is now with the Pfl and has said the amount he will earn on one fight card outweighs his entire UFC earnings which is crazy, Jon Jones is also facing same issue, Isreal Adesanya is also out, I think UFC should pay their fighters better

that ones you are seeing are probably the fight nights like that of Dariush vs. Tsarukyan but the major fights like the next UFC 296 are always great with disappointing outcomes. the one that i would wanna see the most is the Shavkat Rakhmonov vs Stephen Thompson and there is also Paddy vs Ferguson which might really annoy you.

we can't just pick fighters to match with someone, Dana hired someone new to do this that's why its a mess. there are still UFC champions who are not really choosing who to fight like Pereira. the promotion still is alive and more popular.
874  Economy / Services / Re: Best Paid Ads for Cryptocurrency on: November 27, 2023, 08:52:38 PM
is your website accepted as being crypto-related where you added the code for AdSense? you are more lucky to haave that account actually when everyone who wants to have are dying to get accepted.

Cointraffic and coinzilla are the most used crypto ad network by publishers or site owners running ads on their sites. Although this two have strict rules when accepting sites on their list, your site should have enough traffic well at least 30,000-50,000 visits per month, i'm not sure the numbers but higher is much better especially on coinzilla. Cointraffic minimum withdrawals is €25 for bitcoin, and €200 or 300 for bank transfer/wire, i just not so sure on coinzilla since the site i managed never got accepted there unlike cointraffic.

€25 looks easy to earn if you have that huge of visitors. 30k a month looks very hard for a blog to achieve unless you are as creative as those crypto news sites to have done it alone. the popular crypto news sites such as i can see are using adbutler.com it must be paying BTC too.
875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Do I find a Balance Here? on: November 27, 2023, 08:24:17 PM

if it doesn't affect your business as if you will earn less and are more likely to go bankrupt then long term it is. holding long-term is a sure way to win they say.
i would certainly weigh the risk like you just did. i would probably use the business to trade like accepting stablecoin when the BTC price is going down. and when i see the trend is about to change to bulls again, i will start accepting BTC.   Lips sealed

contributing to the increase of BTC adoption is very virtuous.
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: November 27, 2023, 07:53:45 PM
not all Americans really. you still can see the majority are good people. didn't they respect the elderly, look at Biden.

like every election, each partey has to fight to keep their position, you can't just expect Biden or his party to just accept loss.
a week is only what Biden needs to win votes and beat Trump by a mile while Trump has to go through all the obstacles to be able to avoid incarceration.  this is why if Trump has to get it done, he has to double time or all his stunts will just be wasted.

877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: November 27, 2023, 07:33:20 PM
lol Dana in the hospital?

Bellator + PFL and then NGannou vs Paul seem like a ticket-sold-out scenario in minutes. as hilarious as it may seem, this is the kind of match that makes money.
we all know UFC is always been the top promotion but with the rise of PFL and Ngannou promoting his fight that is making trends, it definitely shifted some poles.
878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 27, 2023, 07:23:05 PM
I think Dana will never do cross promotion fights. UFC has been in business for tens years, and Dana only allowed Chuck Liddell to fight in Pride once (other promotion), Conor McGregor to have a boxing fight against Mayweather (boxer), James Toney (boxer) to fight against Randy Couture under mma rules and wrestler (the one that is a fake theatre) CM Punk fought 2 times unsuccessfully in UFC. That is it. Only 5 unusual behaviour or allowance from Dana during whole UFC life.

he must have given them the chance because he is also gaining those matches. i have yet not noticed UFC politics during those days but i think Dana was more confidence in the fighters that he allowed to do cross.

but obviously, Dana also has favoritism among the fighters that he wants to make it to the top. the ones who kiss his ass often get multiple title shots in the same weight class but not even fighting to earn his next title shot.

880  Economy / Economics / Re: strange indicators to know economy is bad on: November 27, 2023, 07:04:46 PM
we know the economy is bad when gas prices have already gone up and all the rest of the stuff we usually buy in the grocery store is up 15%. and because your salary is just what it was the last 2 years, your situation is just as bad as the rest of us. we are in a recession. one reason more economists wanna be think we are in a recession is because we hear it on the news too.

but here are indicators to confirm we really are in an economic downturn.

1. butter popcorn index - people go to movies regardless of how bad the movie is. they just go see movies to just get away from their problems. but when the economy is bad, just sit and watch netflix.

2. diaper rash - parents wouldn't mind if their kid's diapers are already full during an economic crisis and are not neglectful when it comes to the diaper turning yellow during an economic upturn.

3. plastic surgery index - plastic surgery index is generally down during rough times as women wouldn't mind how small their boobs are than when the economy is booming.

4. lipstick index -  women wouldn't spend much on expensive lipsticks so sales are gonna be bad for lipsticks compared to the times when economy is great.

5. japanese haircut index - during a good economy, more people in japan will take care of themselves and get their looks neat and they're not doing this during bad times. women don't go to beauty parlors.

6. bike fatality index - during an economic crisis, people use bikes often or can't afford cars so more bike accidents happen.

7. men underwear index - men especially singles don't mind wearing underwear with a couple of holes in it, no one sees it anyway. men buy less underwear during economic downturns.

8. garbage index - less garbage because people buy less when the economy is bad and buy more when times are good so more garbage everywhere.

9. unclaimed body index - during a bad economy, dead people are not claimed in the morgue. horrible index to look at how bad the economy is.
i'm sure people take care of their family when they die. can't believe this is happening.

i'm sure there are some more, there is also a "beer index" where people prefer to just buy 6 packs and go drink at home rather than a bar.
a few months ago, i bought my kid a secondhand laptop rather than a new one because it's expensive, i think this is also an indicator. and i know he'd break it sooner.

Quite debatable arguments Smiley To be more precise - according to this scheme, almost any indicator can be associated with a bad economy or... on the contrary, with good trends.

For example, I will paraphrase some of your indicators Smiley
1. buttered popcorn index - people go to the movies no matter how bad it is. they just go to the movies to take their minds off their problems. but when the economy is bad, just sit back and watch Netflix.
No. It's a good indicator - people are able to buy Netflix service, have their own comfortable homes and quality TV, which is more comfortable to watch sitting in a warm robe on a comfy couch Smiley

2. plastic surgery index. The plastic surgery index usually goes down during hard times because women don't pay attention to how small their breasts are than during an economic boom.
No. The standard of living is good and women's health is higher, they don't need to unnaturally correct their bodies as they have proper nutrition, good medicine, healthy diet.

3- Lipstick index: women will not spend much money on expensive lipsticks, so lipstick sales will be poor compared to the time when savings are high.
No. In some countries, with a high standard of living, I have observed that women consider themselves naturally beautiful, and do not seek to beautify themselves with excessive makeup.

4. Bicycle fatality index - during economic crisis, people often use bicycles or can't afford cars, so more bicycle accidents occur.
No. it's just that people prioritize environmental friendliness and healthy lifestyles by bicycling. That said, high accident rates can only be attributed to low levels of responsibility and not following the rules of the road.

5. Men's underwear index - men, especially single men, don't mind wearing underwear with a couple holes in it, no one can see it anyway. men buy less underwear during economic downturns.
No. It's more of a personal hygiene and unkemptness issue since underwear is not expensive

6. Garbage Index - less garbage because people buy less when the economy is bad and buy more when times are good, so there is more garbage everywhere.
No. Less waste means people are more careful with products, not to save money, but to overcome "consumer addiction", so the standard of living and consciousness is higher.

netflix is just a new platform. the popcorn index must have been created long before Netflix arrived. mostly are debatable but it's all really connected to how much money the people have in their accounts. like you wouldn't really risk yourself riding your bike at night when you could be safer and comfortable with your sedan. but because saving for gas makes sense when a person is jobless due to mass layoff, he'd likely use his bro's bike.

but they are all associated with the bad economy like the Luxury watch index where Rolex sales drive up especially when professionals earn their bonuses.
