181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is something wrong with cryptocurrencies? on: October 03, 2021, 09:33:33 AM
What would happen if everybody wants to exchange for a real money?
Depends. If everyone wanted to do it at the same time, it would be the same thing as everyone suddenly selling all their TSLA stocks. It'd dump to the ground. If everyone wanted to do it but progreasively, it might not mean a huge dump is incoming. Remember that for any sale there is a seller and a buyer. It's not like you claim USD for Bitcoins and then throw your BTC to the trash. No. You sell it to someone else who believes in it.

I consider it not fair to mine cryptocurrencies?
Why? Sometimes miners don't even earn as much as they pay for the electricity & hardware.

If it is so good why there is a need for exchange rate to the real money?
Because the world functions on fiat right now and it can't be a currency or a store of value if it has no real value. Value is currently measured in fiat, so.. it's kinda logic from here.

Why recently I needed to block about 30 phone numbers constantly calling me to invest money in cryptocurrency? Is it going to finish soon because of having probblems not to be fed this pyramide game with real money?
If you call this a pyramid game, then I suggest you read about Bitcoin because it's quite clear you don't understand it. Your messages are coming due to your own fault. Giving away personal information for free ends up exactly like this: your data is being sold to someone else or leaked by some hackers who obviously have no good intentions but to do phishing on you.
182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "cash in, cash out" on: October 02, 2021, 07:17:02 PM
Whether we like to admit it or not, there are only very, very few out there who truly don't care primarily about the fiat value. Some of the real OGs of Bitcoin have been this way, but many of them have turned into fiat-hoarding investors as well. Fiat is what allows you today to survive in our current world, so it's normal to see lots of people looking for it.

I think in fact the % of people who hoarded fiat before vs the % of people who are hoarding it today is not very different. It's our nature, to say so. The biggest (and I think the only?) disadvantage is that these guys don't care at all about the changes in Bitcoin's protocol or government rulings for real. What this results in is that most surveillance/shitty laws get passed just because the average Joe doesn't care about it as long as it makes Joe's wallet grow.

One of the biggest advantage is that these guys are usually weak-handed, so whenever the market drops the weak ones get shaken off and when the markets grow back up they're hoarding again. It's an almost infinite cycle of potential profit and possibilities to re-enter the markets from a lower price.
183  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A few thoughts on privacy on: September 30, 2021, 05:35:00 PM
People understand privacy differently, although most don't care at all, which makes the job even easier for these companies. It is true that achieving privacy is not easy, but also that those who try to remain anonymous attract attention because the authorities assume that they are hiding something. TOR is always mentioned as something that is a solution to a problem, but one has to wonder if it is really 100% safe in addition to everything that the secret services around the world possess today.

Simply put, if someone really wants to identify you, and you are using the internet and a smartphone, they will find you sooner or later no matter what protection you use.
I think that the more Tor users there are, the less weird it would be for authorities to know you're using it. If I was among the very few to want to own a gun in Europe right now, I'd be considered weird. But if 50% of Europe's citizens suddenly wanted to own a gun, things would change.

About identifying you through other means.. if we ever get to that point, I think we'd have way bigger issues to deal with and the first and main one would probably be your own family's safety. If they ever trace down citizens through highly intrusive methods, then it is time to abandon everything on the digital side if you want to have a bit of privacy again. At that point, having your transactions and history watched & analyzed is the least of the problems.
184  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin still experimental? on: September 30, 2021, 08:22:04 AM
Even then, you could argue it's still an ongoing experiment (like literally capitalism and communism themselves; both are mass adopted and in a way still experimental).

Let me explain: every time a milestone is reached, like 'legal tender', 'mass adoption', 'global reserve currency', ..., the circumstances are completely changed and we're in a new kind of experiment.
A very interesting food for thought. Yeah, we're definitely going experimental with every single new addition. Anything new could turn into opposition or support from certain parties, and stuff like SegWit is definitely a new atmosphere, a new environment and a new experiment. Thanks for your input. If so, since Bitcoin can be easily changed by just modifying its codelines unlike for example physical materials such as lead or gold, it might in fact be experimental at all times and will be even 100 years from now.

@NeuroticFish nu cred ca RON-ul are backing in aur.

Subscriu.

189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Certain Coins While Being Country Restricted? on: September 28, 2021, 02:28:18 PM
Decentralized exchanges such as Bisq, Pancake or so. Pancake is easy to use and BNB is supported heavily. You can use bridges as well. Moving from ETH to BNB through bridges and then trading tokens through Pancake is easy peasy.
190  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Bitcoin Transaction Fee increases Over Bitcoin Price Increase? on: September 28, 2021, 09:15:01 AM
When the price increases, there are many who buy in the hype. That makes the mempool clog up and therefore the transaction fees increase since most of them want quick confirmations. What happens is quite natural then however: as long as people consider the fees are too high, they stop transacting and fees decrease. If you feel like .10c is too low and you afford to pay .12c, you will help with the increase of fees.

It's just a natural order in a decentralized world, although I would argue that the rich have a huge advantage over us since they will always afford to pay larger amounts for transactions.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is easier? on: September 28, 2021, 08:15:49 AM
Almost everyone I know who bought during hype got shattered afterwards. Very, very few buy during hype and wait very long until the price recovers (if it ever even does). Perhaps a dip is a better strategy, at least in my case it always has been.
192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin was hacked, NOOO !!! You are need read this. on: September 27, 2021, 07:30:08 PM
Say Bitcoin is easy to hack and I'll instantly know how much you know about cryptocurrencies. Someone so ignorant to instantly push away Bitcoin due to something they never even researched would probably have a hard time being convinced otherwise anyway.

I'm not sure if the "security" of Bitcoin lays in the tech itself or there simply are no (big) flaws within the codelines themselves though. They are two different things as far as my knowledge tells me. Any input from a programmer/BTC dev would help Smiley
193  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US to make Bitcoin use a FELONY unless report sender's social security number on: September 27, 2021, 06:38:47 PM
The US has been rapidly falling down the global rankings for individual freedom and civil liberties for years now.
The entire world has been that way. Speaking from Europe, there is not much hope left for our freedoms and rights either. They all seem to be on the edge of extinction.

This is insanity. It seems like someone is so desperate for everything we do to be under constant, continuous control. What this will turn into is the splitting of crypto users into those who are comfortable and do not care and those who do and are now considered terrorists/criminals. The fact that not giving your personal information about yourself and having privacy is rapidly turning into a crime is scary as shit. 1984 knocking on our doors, they're thirsty for your data and they will do whatever to own it and use it to their own agendas..
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I did not expect the Chinese government to promote the rise of decentralization on: September 27, 2021, 10:15:03 AM
I could probably say the same: I did not expect our governments to make me realize how important privacy is due to the surveillance they implemented. It's a bad thing though, if you look closer at it. You can use DEXs maybe, but you'd be doing something illegal and not many know how to use DEXs or a PC at all without exposing their history and having the government take a look at it. What happens now is, some people will avoid crypto at all, some people will use DEXs successfully and some others will unfortunately make mistakes and be caught.
195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 26, 2021, 11:39:49 AM
Hate to be a glass-half-full but how many of those are people outside El Salvador downloading the app to have a look?
They said there are >2m active users, so I think is safe to assume they are solely El Salvador citizens. If they have a usercount, I guess they also have them categorized by geographical regions. And then, I don't think there'd be even 100k users outside El Salvador who'd be interested in checking the app out imo..
196  Economy / Economics / Re: A poll in the USA to accept crypto as a legal payment on: September 26, 2021, 11:34:41 AM
They'd be left with no choice if Bitcoin starts being adopted in smaller countries. USA being left out means losing money over the long term.
197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 25, 2021, 11:51:46 PM
bitcoin is doing okay.

if mr v vanishes i believe eth will tank to sub 1000 in under a week
Agreed, definitely! Satoshi's decision to leave was the greatest thing he could probably do to Bitcoin. He left a community that would grow on its own rather than a currency that only grows as long as the fixed team behind it sits down and works hard. This is why BTC will probably never be defeated. We're doing all the stuff on our own, we don't need to be paid by someone to do so.

free html hosting

Good to see BTC is working  Cool  Cheesy
Wow. More users than any bank in El Salvador? That sounds insane and if it's true and all users are legit, it's big news! Are they really that unbanked or is Bitcoin just gaining so much attention over there?!
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did you get in early on certain alts? What's your source.. on: September 25, 2021, 05:56:17 PM
I personally think these trends start rather randomly and getting in as an "early bird" is more about luck than knowledge or anything else. From my own experience, these trends usually start quite parabolically after some news probably not even the early birds would've expected to launch.

But strictly regarding the technology itself, I just read as much as I can and through critical thinking I can find out whether it's worth putting my money in it or not. The key here is finding good coins with new and innovative tech that have not become trendy yet. If you can do this, you can be thousands of steps ahead of the game.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Twitter can make impact in the BTC world? on: September 25, 2021, 01:09:00 PM
Would help with adoption, but I don't know how much it will. It's not like if Twitter accepts BTC everyone suddenly starts buying BTC and sending it around. It might help get a few interested in Bitcoin however - and those who want to send money might be considering it in the future. Until we get to many millions using Bitcoin through Twitter though... there's a very long way to go.

Since Jack Dorsey is bitcoin-friendly and he let people Twitter and share anything about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, this will make Twitter a good platform for bitcoiners to share their thoughts, discuss bitcoin, learn more from other people and especially this will help to spread the bitcoin word in all over the over, these are all good effects and benefits of twitter the bitcoin, however, on the other hand, there are many scam project and shitcoins trying to rise a community using Twitter to get more investors for themselves.
Bitcoiners can already share their thoughts through Twitter. They've been able to do so for many years, so that's nothing new.
