61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Daily Living on: January 15, 2020, 09:31:23 AM
Im using bitcoin for a different way im using it as my source of income and its not P2P transaction either because my country doesn't have businesses that accepts bitcoin payments that's why in order to purchase goods and products, i need to convert it to fiat. The lack of services accepting bitcoin is the reason i need to rely in fiat currency, i hope in the near future i could see cryptocurrency being use as global payments for anything.
I am strongly agree to what you have said. Actually me too, I am using trading as a source of my income since I am still a student and I cant afford to apply for a full time job because my schedule is volatile thats why I am pursuing my trading job because it is easy, convinient and most especially you are the one who hold your schedule in posting and you can post and trade anytime.

Isn't that a bit dangerous? I mean, if you're making money out of trading while studying that's great but isn't that a bit of a risk? There aren't any guarantees you'll have successful trades all the time so they probably would come a time when you'll have to get money outside of your crypto earnings. Won't that be a distraction to your studies?
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rapper Akon kicks off construction for world's first "crypto city" on: January 15, 2020, 07:11:53 AM
Well the guy's done quite a lot of many communities in that african country so i think the people there are more than willing to give this venture a chance. A crypto city in africa would definitely be a big achievement as most people who doubt btc always point out that it can't be used in areas like africa due to internet inaccessibility.
63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying bitcoin and several altcoins on: January 14, 2020, 10:43:15 AM
Because all exchange platform need to the personal info.
Also I can't buy huge amount bitcoin and altcoins via the platforms.
Not all exchange required to pass KYC or you need to input your personal information. You can still buy bitcoin and any altcoin without submitting any personal informantion because some exchange only required it if you gonna withdraw a huge amount of bitcoin like 100 bitcoin. But, in your case you already stated that you can't buy huge amount of bitcoin and altcoins so it's better to use an exchange than buying it to a certain person which is more risky than using an exchange.

Well you still have a choice though. Several exchanges don't require kyc. It's just a bit riskier since these are lesser known exchanges that haven't built their reputation yet. Though it's not all the time that these exchanges will just take your money. Some are legitimate even if you're not required to submit your information. Again it's a risk you can take if you don't want kyc.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are giving too much attention on the halving on: January 14, 2020, 03:02:59 AM
Everybody is focusing and giving attention in halving, I think we should not expect too much. I'm not excited about the halving because I'm a trader and I am not a speculator. Most of the posts that I keep seeing are about their hopes that the price of the bitcoin will increase after the halving, let me remind you it is just a "hope". It is better if we will still focus and give attention in price action than in halving that will happen.

Well the expectations are based on what happened during the previous halving. The value did shoot up then and people have a legitimate reason to be excited. Though i don't want to be in the hype too much as we're not sure that it's going to  follow previous trends. Recently, the movement of the market tend to go against what happened before.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uber or Airbnb running on bitcoin on: January 13, 2020, 11:39:15 PM
I remember when both Uber or Airbnb each came out. You could save money using them. Now you can't.

Isn't there any good Uber or Airbnb type products that run on bitcoin?

I was thinking about long distance phone calls. A long time ago you had to pay for that. Then it gradually became free.

I'm surprised that we haven't seen that happen with Ride Sharing or even BnB's. Because think about it, both of those are pretty much commodities in society. By now they should be extremely cheap. They should be just a fraction of what is charged by Uber or Airbnb.

Especially with a ride share product. The driver could just pull over. Pick someone up, and then earn some bitcoin for driving them, to or at least close to their drop off point. But mainly compete heavily on price to disrupt the whole Uber or Airbnb sectors.

Like one day in the same way we say "remember when you had to pay for long distance".... instead people will be saying "remember when you had to pay for a Cab, wasn't that crazy?" I want this to happen somehow soon.  Shocked

What do you think?

I think i've come across some airbnbs that accept not just bitcoin, but ether and ripple as well. Though you'd find it in the description not on the thumbnails. I guess we see this because airbnbs are a bit more personal than ubers. I think little by little we'll start seeing crypto being used. Though if ever it'll be the main mode of payment, i think it's not in this generation.
66  Economy / Economics / Re: Mistakes That Make You Poor Poor In Cryptocurrency on: January 13, 2020, 09:06:05 AM
This happened at the beginning I was actively involved with Crypto, I had a tendency to be self-taught and I didn't care about feedback from other people, several websites that I clicked on and eventually caused phishing, I experienced significant losses and I was inactive for several years. This was a very big mistake and now I try to learn from other people as much as possible. But this time I came back with a different attitude, I got more input from others and maintained behaviour for non-blunders identical to selfishness.

Well at least you learned from it. Most common mistakes are related to instinctive and emotional judgement. Urges to make quick money just because they've read or heard about other people's gains and success. I think  lot of us have gone through that stage as i've been a victim of hyips when i was starting as well.
67  Economy / Economics / Re: World Economy and war situation and crypto on: January 13, 2020, 07:25:23 AM
Whats Ur take on that?

War situation USA Trump Economy and crypto Currrency?

Do u Think that current situation have any impact on crypto?
There’s an impact since every news the price of crypto is moving so since its a War and not just a simple news people will react on that. Cryptocurrency is very volatile, and the investors are taking that advantage to make
Money and whales really knows what to do. A war can make the fiat money more less in value so cryptocurrency can be the option if ever.

Well war has probably been averted because of the us deciding not to retaliate in iran's bombing of its military housings in iraq and btc has quite moved pretty well after that. Even with the possibility of another escalation with iran's admittance of downing a passenger plane, the market remained steadily moving up inch by inch. I guess what it shows is that so far, all these happenings doesn't have that much influence on the market.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be realistic for the world to run on cryptocurrencies? on: January 13, 2020, 03:32:22 AM
It would be a bit difficult to achieve this one with right now, as we are still far too far to achieve mass adoption.
were getting to close year after year.
Crypto users ' population is growing, but it's still not enough. Many governments are against cryptocurrencies, so it's really hard to say that running on cryptocurrency is possible for the world.
in time those Governments that against crypto will change way if the realization happen, they may find how beneficial is crypto and not the other way around.
Just like what you said, there are factors that stop it from happening and we still have to work on that factor in order to finally achieve what we want.
with all our help guys,if we give some effort for the crypto to be adopted by telling people what this can give to us human.

Adoption is very real and is achievable in just a few years. Though for the world to run mostly on crypto? That's doubtful. People will always look for alternatives and in case it comes to that point, we'll look for faster, cheaper way to run things just as how bitcoin is to fiat right now. There's no absolute, we'll always have other options.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WHAT HAPPENS IF BTC TOUCHES 100K ? on: January 12, 2020, 02:30:51 PM
Have you see the movement price when bitcoin had touched its all time high at 2017 ago?  What was happening with altcoin price, it's pretty much the same in every cycle my friend. Altcoin prices were following the bitcoin price and their price was also touched all time high. I'm still waiting for the bitcoin price to pump rapidly to the new all time highs or maybe even 100 thousand as you mentioned. Then I will be waiting for an altcoin pump as well

Well since you based it on what happened last 2017, have you also noticed the correction it took after reaching almost 20k? More than a year of bear market. Imagine the recoil of a run that would get us to 100k. The heartaches it will cause and the losses it will inflict especially on those people who are all too eager to jump on fomo.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: War affects the Entire Cryptocurrency? on: January 12, 2020, 09:09:12 AM
i don't think so, this event is like an event that happened coincidentally and coincided with the growth of the crypto market, because we know the crypto market has been predicted to get its season back in 2020 and at the same time war or problems between countries happen. so i still can't decide if the war will have an impact on the growth of the crypto market

Lol. What about the people who'll be using crypto? If war spreads to many countries, people will be affected. Their daily lives, businesses, routines, and a lot more. The fact is that war affects everyone and everything. Crypto market may not be directly affected as let's say oil and stocks, but the effects would ripple even through crypto.
71  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: How to Protect Your Crypto Wallet if Someone Searches Your Phone? on: January 12, 2020, 08:25:03 AM
We all keep a lot of personal information on our phones and obviously don’t want to share our correspondence, cryptocurrency wallets, or contacts to become a part of the public domain. Nonetheless, in some cases, authorities can ask you to provide full access to your device.

Is this even legal? Can you refuse to give your phone to law enforcement? How can you protect your cryptocurrency wallet?

https://forklog.media/how-to-protect-your-crypto-wallet-during-phone-search/

Well i would refuse. Though if their reason for searching would be necessary for probably my safety, i wouldn't mind giving them access. Who am i anyway, i'm just a regular guy with a phone and some crypto coins lol. I'd probably demand first a reason as to why they need to do that. And my crypto isn't just on a phone app. So i don't worry about it.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Musk Tweet, Crypto Manipulation on: January 12, 2020, 07:09:44 AM
@elonmusk tweeted about bitcoin today

Quote
Bitcoin is *not* my safe word

He also mentioned about DOGE & ETH, I believe he is very into crypto and trying to manipulate the pricing  Grin

I tried to buy doge when he mentioned about doge, because last time when he mentioned about doge, it had increased by around 30%. but yesterday when I already bought, then elonmusk deleted the tweeted about doge, and of course I immediately sell it. I did not get a loss after buying at 28 and resold at 28. really the real manipulation lol

The guy's influential, let's give him that. I think those kind of tweets from elon musk can pump or dump a coin more than john mcaffee. With the things he's done and he's been doing, he can convert a lot of crypto doubters into optimists. Having said that, of course he can make a difference in the market movement for crypto. Though with the most recent tweet, who knows if he's just trolling.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla boy does it again! on: January 11, 2020, 02:15:38 PM
Well at least he puts attention to bitcoin again and interest will be generated. Though i find it difficult to understand what that was about. To me it doesn't seem to be a negative tweet. The guy's a visionary. I think he's leaning more on crypto's side rather than sharing warren buffet's view.
74  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Iran has made a huge mistake and the world will pay a price for it. on: January 11, 2020, 10:46:18 AM
They continue to produce nuclear weapons and that will eventually lead to an open conflict. It may not be now but it will happen. There's only 2 ways you can go with nuclear weapon production these days. One is the route of secrecy and the other of open hostility. North Korea chose the second one and it made it an outlaw and Iran is trying to become just like that. Their problem is the country is Islamic and we all know that they can't just wall themselves and sit tight on their asses, they want to travel, spread their religion, influence the region. It's not going to happen!

Hence the fear for most of us. And iran doesn't seem to have any plans of backing down despite the consequences of a full blown war against the us may bring. Even the regular citizens seem to be primed up to go against america. Trump may have deescalated things by refraining to retaliate the bombing of their military houses in iraq, but with recent updates of iran admitting they've shot down a passenger plane, things could escalate again with renewed vigor.
75  Other / Politics & Society / Re: One Million Trees on: January 11, 2020, 08:55:39 AM
Well for a project that big, i think they've made studies about where and how to do this huge venture. And i think it's not happening on a single event. It's gradual, planned tree planting. At least there's an initiative, let's give that. As to how it's going to be implemented, let's give them a chance. I'm all for restoring the greenery everywhere.
76  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Easy way to accumulate BTC while still Hodling. on: January 11, 2020, 07:39:55 AM
No offense OP, but I prefer to use my old exchange than to try a new exchange. By the way, there is no easy way to accumulate bitcoin while still holding except you use that bitcoin to lend it to the traders. You can earn some money from them especially if they still use your money to trade, and you can try at poloniex if you want Grin

Trade over $100 is not easy, but if you have big funds, that would be easy for you to earn additional income for $10, but I won't do that because I prefer to make a small profit, but I can get over and over instead in one-time trade.

Lol. I wouldn't count on lending as well as i've lost quite some bitcoins when i tried that. But yeah, you can accumulate fiat by holding btc but to accumulate bitcoin? Try holding alts. The thing is, there's no assurance as the chances of you accumulating is the same as your holdings decreasing in value. If you don't want to shell out money, then use your patience in working for it. Join campaigns and services.
77  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ruined my account through multiple mistakes on: January 11, 2020, 01:32:53 AM
Have you guys ever ruined your account when you were still a beginner? And by ruined I mean losing everything or a very big part of it. I started trading like 3 months ago and made my first deposit 2 months ago. After 150+ trades through the course of 1 month I managed to get my 4000$ initial investment to 7000$. Needless to say I was over the moon and I got overconfident. I invested more than usual thinking I have a great opportunity right there and even though I had a fixed plan with certain stop losses in place for every trade, after the price went against my prediction I still hold onto it thinking it will rebound and even added a little more to average down. In the end the price got my stoploss and I was down 3000$ (I don't know how I managed to lose so much in 1 trade). I was very frustrated with my idiocy and I started chasing losses (again like an idiot). Throughout the next 2 weeks I managed to lose another 2400$ by trading while mad (lost most of it when bitcoin went up from 6700 to 8000 at the beginning of the year, shorting it). Now I have only 1600$ left in my account, deeply depressed and afraid to lose even more. I'm afraid that I won't ever make it back and even if I do this is the worst timing possible with the halving rally in sight. I get more depressed even thinking of all the profit those money would have generated if the rally begins. I came here to ask for some advice since I don't trust my decisions anymore and maybe you could give me some insight.

Well back then, the value isn't as high as today. Less than 1k per btc, losing won't hurt you that much compared to today's effect. I've made a lot of mistakes as a newbie that included gambling, making emotional decisions, listening and basing my moves on pump and dump groups. I easily lost almost 1 full btc during my first few months. Though those are lessons that, looking back, i should be quite thankful for. It adds up to the experience stash that i'm able to use today.
78  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Full time trading is boring on: January 10, 2020, 12:58:37 PM
One of the biggest cons of full time trading is being alone , boring sitting in front of computer watching charts data all the time from past 6 moths i am almost doing this and now because of this i am not able to focus on trades. i feel like quieting full time trading and go to job so i make some new friends and Socialness

what you guys do to avoid this biggest cons on full time trading

Well for those that trade full time, i think watching and anticipating chart movements are interesting enough to waste the whole day on. These people have come to live and breathe trading so being alone isn't something they're concerned about. If you love what you're doing, definitely these cons won't matter.
79  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 10, 2020, 11:51:10 AM
Or maybe its the UFC who asked them to create such story so that it will add up to the hype of this fight. I have nothing against Conor, he is talented but after his lost to Diaz and Khabib, he was exposed and fighters can clearly see a blueprint of how to beat him, but still Dana is selling Conor and his fights unlike other better fighters with potential.
The event is sold out completely in record time and now they will be eyeing for a record holding PPV buys and for that to happen they need to hype the fight and i am expecting them to hold some entertaining press conference before the fight so that the event gets the hype they are looking for and there is no doubt that Conor McGregor will steal the pre shows like he used to do always.

Well it's always like that in the ufc. There was a time when guys like lyoto machida, anderson silva,  and ronda rousey seem to have the perfect technique until they get beat and exposed. Same with connor. Though the guy will always be a draw. Aside from talent, people love and hate his attitude. And that's what brings money to dana white. People clamor for colorful fighters with spunk.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not being sold for $24,000 in Iran on: January 10, 2020, 10:56:31 AM
Bitcoin are not sold in $ 24,000 in Iran,
I think seller put bitcoin in high price because they want to take advantage the panic of people now because of the war. And also local bitcoin is P2P so you can put sale order any price you want.

Lol. People can easily take advantage of that in the event that it's true. Where will you buy it, in an exchange? One doesn't need to be in iran to do that. And even if a person does sell btc at that price in iran, only a fool would take it. Exchanges are easily accessed so why would you spend that much for something that should be a lot cheaper. P2p transactions usually are valued lower than exchange rates.
