941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What has changed? Is it moving forward? on: February 19, 2019, 03:59:39 PM
Hi All,

I have been in cryptocurrency since 2014 but last 3 years I took a break from it. I had high hopes how it can change the financial world.

I would like to get back into it but first I would like to find out what is cryptocurrency today.

Is it just a trading commodity, long term investment or is it (very very very) slowly replacing fiat. I know there are many companies and small shops that accept cryptocurrency but is that it? Is the problem still about the speed of a transaction

Please help me catch up a little Smiley

There are a lot of changes that we can see nowadays, there are now governments that legalized cryptocurrencies in their country. They say that it is now preferable to use cryptocurrencies than fiat currency because of its convenience in terms of transaction.
there is a slight change not much I think this appears that is not met by many people but not all that it knows and this is the rise of bitcoin in the near future

Lol big changes came in 2017 and that placed bitcoin in a lot of people's radar. And then 2018 happened that probably placed a big question in bitcoin for would-be investors. I think the guy can already back track from there. You don't often see bitcoin and crypto in news and social media back in 2014.
942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "They laughed when I created Bitcoin, but when it started to grow…" on: February 19, 2019, 03:55:39 PM
I think its better and for great good that no one knows who satoshi nakamoto really is, either dead or alive this is why bitcoin still lives ,there won't be worries or fear of the owner dumping at anytime

I doubt that he's the first guy who claimed to be satoshi nakamoto lol. A lot of people already stepped forward and said they founded or created btc but i don't these people should be taken seriously. I believe he's not even an actual person.
943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's angel in disguise on: February 19, 2019, 03:45:11 PM
Come to think of it. Bitcoin is not the talk about of the people because of its low value. It has negative effects atleast , but even though it turns that way, you can notice that it will be more popular that way.  Its not the way we want it to be advertised but its better because its spreading like virus. Good job negative people. Keep spreading bitcoin and let curious people check it out.

If you think about it, you have a point lol. Negative feedback brings awareness to other people. And they may not have confidence in bitcoin investments right now but at least they will know about it. The change in how they feel about btc would likely come when the market starts to recover. Let's see another fomo when it picks up pace.
944  Economy / Speculation / Re: A chance for Bitcoin to rise! on: February 19, 2019, 03:38:22 PM
There is still a chance that the price of bitcoin will rise again so we need to hold our bitcoin and keep on hoping and praying that somewhere in this year the price of bitcoin will rise. Maybe we need to wait more time but we should not lose our hope and support in bitcoin because only our support will help to rise the price of bitcoin in market.

It's so easy for people to repeatedly say lets just keep the faith but not everyone is financially capable of holding their money for a long time. Some people that sold at a loss had no other choice but to sell since they'd probably need their capital, or what's left of it, back. Bitcoin will eventually get back up but only those who took time to understand the market will likely benefit from it.
945  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the Bitcoin is still down? on: February 19, 2019, 03:34:19 PM
It's because of massive sell off that happened last year (2018). Most of them are those who take profit from ICO. Also, include the implementation of regulation of SEC which forces others to sell as early as possible before it gets implemented. Currently, there are also a some of exchanges which has been forced to close due to some issues. I think that are the big factors that causes Bitcoin to continuously dump.
negative news that coming from China last year be the beginning of bearish trend.this market attacked by negative news continuesly after that, and make investors worry about their money.so massive selling happen at that moment.

Yes, last year many bad news about cryptocurrency. BAKKT will release and i think its good news for bitcoin price and hopely the price increasing

There's hardly any recent news nowadays for us to put the blame on guys. Btc is simply under an extended bear market that's probably caused by stagnant movement by investors and holders. The 2018 correction and crash took away the hype that was built the previous year and would be investors  especially those that are new to the market are all wary of entering the market.
946  Economy / Economics / Re: CryptoCurrencies around the GLOBE on: February 19, 2019, 02:05:19 PM
I believe cryptocurrency is not something secret for people. For sure they are hearing and reading a lot about it just like me before I stumbled on it personally. They just have it heard but they don't really know what it is exactly, what is it for and how it is being used. Just like when I mentioned the word bitcoin to someone, he immediately said its a scam. Most people are not having the right knowledge about it.
Actually cryptocurrency or bitcoin already seen in many places, I'm sure many people already have heard about bitcoin. yeah but their opinions and responses is different, some people might call it a scam, because they think online investment is just a hoax. I think many people need to be educated about the importance of online now, technology 4.0 is sure to happen in the world.

Well most of us get information for something from news and that sort of media. This is how people learn about what's happening. Sadly, mainstream media picked up bitcoin back in 2017 so people saw mainly the decline from ath to 3k. Of course confidence won't be that high if you're the one looking from outside right?
947  Economy / Economics / Re: JPM Coin, the JP Morgan coin on: February 19, 2019, 01:54:59 PM
So the humor is real that most of the banks today including most largest banks in the world are creating their own blockchain and digital payments and now this news about JPM coins is the reality so many good news happening in crypto lately even Apple has on the move in some new SEC filing wow this is it the world is waking up hang on more surprises in cryto world will come this year.
I think a lot of people respond to it that way, they make the price movements rise and fall in prices as they please without seeing the situation and without thinking of traders who are trapped a lot in their ways will make many traders lose.
i think jp morgan will make cryptocurrency market being interested anymore.jp morgan coins will create hype and make large investors do the same thing with them.i am sure SEC will be influenced too with this JP Morgan action.

Probably. Since unlike ripple, this coin actually carries the name of a big bank. And yeah jp morgan isn't the first to this. It's just funny that after everything jaime dimon blabbered about crypto in the past, here he is with his very own crypto coin 😂
948  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do in 2030? on: February 19, 2019, 01:50:40 PM
I guess in 2030 technology will be very advanced and far more advanced than now that it will make a big impact on change in this world I can't imagine what I will do in that year because maybe there will be many things I don't want to happen.

Due to the technological advances, there will be many conflicts between neighboring countries that may lead to a change in the borders of the countries.
I hope that this will not have any impact on our economics and especially in bitcoin and the accumulation of crypto will give us the opportunity to live wealthy.

Well it could go both ways. An advancement in technology could either be good or bad. If things stay the same as now and nothing bad happens, we're likely to see crypto boom within 10 years. I'f probably be traveling around the world then lol. If we're not so lucky and our governments decide to go after each other's throats, then the future looks pretty grim for us, for crypto and for pretty much everything.
949  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traders, what are your views in 2019. on: February 19, 2019, 01:47:55 PM
I believe that bitcoin price will not go down below $3000 because as you can see the month of January until now still $3k+ and $100 more to go the price of bitcoin would reach $4000.

Well it seems likely that we'll be at that 4k level by the end of the first quarter. Today was a pretty good day and most coins we're green with btc and ether leading the gainers. Hopefully we sustain this for a few more days. But i don't believe this will lead into a bull run of any sort. If it comes then good, if not then i'm not going to be disappointed.
950  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Stop loss feature in Exchanges on: February 19, 2019, 01:44:21 PM
There is a recent addition in most exchanges and that is stop loss capabilities. Do you think this will improve trading experience and ensure one remain profitable on the long run? What is your thought about this?
stop loss feature have bad and good things. so you should think again and again before using this feature. Because sometimes it helps the trader to avoid loss and some time it through in loss.If you can not know more about this feature you can search on youtube that helps very much. But I think it has the more good feature than bad .thanks
I don't think stop loss has a bad thing to do with your trade. Stop loss is an advantage for a trader in order to  avoid continuous further losses. Let's just admit it that as a trader, we should accept the fact that when we made a wrong decision, we should accept it in order to avoid worse situation. In this case, a stop loss could save us.
I don't know why someone would think that stop loss is really a bad thing? It is never been bad to have this tool, in fact this would really be helpful when it comes to short trading. For large swing trades then this thing wont really be necessary but for short ones then using this would be crucial. Risk and reward ratio system where setting up stop loss for a possible outcome profit.
It depends on exchangers if they would choose up to have this tool or not but I would say this should really be put up in consideration.

I don't think the guy meant it anyways. Probably never used stoploss ever. Very useful especially for people who're into day trades and shortings. You'd want to have extra features to save your capital from a bigger loss right? Then utilize stop-loss feature.
951  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is this the beginning of the arrival of a bull run? on: February 19, 2019, 01:41:11 PM
Defining an increase of $300/$400 dollars a race start to the bull seems to me rather premature.
maybe you are right, too soon if I mention that this is the beginning of a bull run, I just can't wait for a bull run to happen.
so the $ 300 to $ 400 increase has reminded me of a bull run.

Right. And don't forget that we've had these kinds of run before where people already assumed it to be the start of a bullrun but ended up crashing back. Today was a good day with btc and eth both making a good movement but i'd hold on the assumption that this is a bull run. Not just yet.
952  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you lose your confidence as an investor? on: February 19, 2019, 01:38:43 PM
It is impossible to be positive in the market due to fluctuation many people will loose their confidence level. So at that time, we need to think twice about the market instead of bothering we should hold the coin because we already know cryptocurrency adoption is kept increasing which it will help us to make more money along with the bitcoin price.

Dude fluctuations are constant not only in crypto but in other industries as well. Lose confidence because of fluctuations? It's where we make profit man. And i'm seeing many people not really losing confidence in this extended bear market but opts to just wait it out. There's a big difference.
953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How will the possible ban on internet gambling in the US affect Bitcoin? on: February 18, 2019, 04:26:11 PM
Maybe it could affect since that was considered as bad news for crypto but then even if they don't allow it, there are still ways to access the site. So for me, the effect won't be that much. Also not all players came from USA and owners can move into another country if they want to.

That is right, they will always find a solution to playing gambling, and I am sure with the easiest way to connect to any websites, they will not get any problem. Besides that, if the gambling websites are registered on the US, then maybe that sites need to pay some tax, and if the US government decides to ban the gambling websites, then I think they will lose big revenue from the gambling business, and that is not good news for them.

Well if it would have any effect at all, i doubt it'll be felt in general. Yeah crypto gambling probably contributes a lot but there are likely more crypto gamblers outside the us than in it. Crypto is so much more than just a gambling means so i think it'll be okay.
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: February 18, 2019, 04:21:25 PM
WTF is 178 to 164? I understand its a fun night and all but coming from "wade broke kobe's nose on all-star" and "Lebron tried to block kobe but mamba dunked anyway" into the age where the game ends 178 to 164 just simply SUCKS. I grew up watching Indiana and pistons basketball, spurs shutting everyone down, games ending under 100 points all the time, pistons keeping their opponents under 80 points 7+ times in a row.

Now, don't get me wrong I love the game to death and I don't want to change the whole game we play but at least all-star weekend could be a bit better. For the first time in almost a decade I did not stayed up to watch the game and honestly I am not regretting it at all.

The "three point" contest had 7 people in it and they all shot 25 shots in total, that comes down to 150 shots total, the all-star game itself had 169 three points tried, think of a game that has more three points shot than the three point contest itself, I love three pointers but that is tooooo much.

Well you can't really compare all star games to a regular nba game. It's given that players don't play defense and just want to have fun and making highlight after highlight. It's always been like that and most allstar games are high scoring. You wouldn't want your all stars injuring themselves during an exhibition game by playing rough right?
955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to resist? on: February 18, 2019, 04:18:28 PM
That is what I do , I play for fun . Most of the people ( me initially too ) chase the losses and that's when we lose big . If we can't resist then we are not good enough gambler , as simple as that . I can resist and I can control my emotions and that is the reason I haven't suffered huge loss.

Yes, need play for fun.
But if you lose big money can't control emotion.. need stop else losses will be higher.
No need to try return losess. It's main rule.

Hope people do understand that if they play for fun it will be beneficial for them and also they would enjoy the lot rather than playing to make money only and eventually might end up losing a lot of money and also might in effect their mental and health too.

Well you don't really think about the fun when you start to gamble though. The first thing on someone's mind when they start gambling is the money they'll win. The fun only comes along the way as you gamble. I think that's why many people are having a hard time resisting. Lets admit it, it's more fun if you're winning and raking up profit.
956  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices are being settled to explode ? on: February 18, 2019, 04:12:17 PM
From the last three months prices of Bitcoin are range bound and hovering around 3600$ .It seems that the prices are settled and waiting for the uptrend movement . Is it the start of the journey towards 20000$ again?
Two possibilities either the price bumps and bull run will gets started or we are going to face another dump. But its all for the short term youmay get the chance of price increase in long term.

Nothing can still be sure about it because we know BTC always behaves unnaturally. Whatever comes, we should always be prepared about it and think positive so that it may have some hope of a better results.

Well i think that if ever there's still going to be a decline, it's not going to be as bad as the previous ones. We have little room to go down now and what's left is for us to move upwards. It's just that we may head that direction slowly and lazily unlike the aggressive run we had last 2017. I doubt if we'll see many runs like that again.
957  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if the bull run refuses to come again? on: February 18, 2019, 04:09:20 PM
This can happen but even if the bull run will not come soon i think a bull run will come, let say in medium or long time, so is better to continue our lives as before even if the bull run not comes and wait until then and get more coins.

i feel you bro .  your trying to say that we must continue living our life with or without bull run because we are still seeing a small increase from time to time which is good because that can add up something from our existing income .  in reality , bull run can just come but it is not predictable  . this is the job of the crypto whale's  ,  maybe they are only waiting for the right time  .

Well i still think it will come sometime in the future. But yeah, we don't really need an actual bull run if the market is steadily crawling upwards. Especially for people like me who's pretty much invested for the long term.
958  Economy / Speculation / Re: new bullish run on: February 18, 2019, 04:07:26 PM
This is not bull run yet. Just slight, hardly visible price increase but nothing else. It's not even a sign of upward trend and the price stays more or less in the same range as the past few months.
I know that users actuallly can't wait for green market and rising price but to my opinion nothing significantly will change in the upcoming period. Once the price crosses 6000$ again we might say that we have new bull run

We may be misjudging the current market. Obviously, we saw the price rise from below 1k to almost 20k in less than a year. Then we crashed to 3k and that again happened in less than a year. So we are used to this kind of thing, i.e. prices changing a few thousand dollars a month either up or down. That's why such "small" changes appear to us as insignificant. But if these prices are for long, we will soon be happy if Bitcoin rises (or falls, depending on which side of the trade you are on) a few hundred dollars now and then

After all, isn't that what we were all dreaming of, i.e. price stability and low volatility?

Well this green movement has only been here for a couple of days so i don't see any reason why we should be extra excited over what could become a bull run. A real bull run may propel us beyond the 6k level between the end of the 1st quarter bridging the 2nd quarter of the year. Though i'm not complaining if it goes up now by a couple of hundreds.
959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions if Bitcoin ETFs are approved on: February 18, 2019, 04:03:41 PM
The SEC knows that those group behind those ETfs will not stop until it got approved so they'll make an agreement with them to make this happen. My theory is that they will be many rules within the aprroval that the SEC will ask and hopefully this that year and I hope they make the timing very good.

Well eventually one of these etfs will get an approval and it's likely to be this year. Though the effect may not be what some of us here are expecting. Of course an approval would probably trigger an increase in price since people might think it'll bring confidence back to the market by the bulk. And it likely will but i doubt if it can be sustained for a long time.
960  Economy / Speculation / Re: which way bitcoin price going? on: February 18, 2019, 03:58:32 PM
What goes up must come down but still nobody can predict the future of bitcoin.  As what i can see bitcoin is being knowned  day by day , new adopters are coming in which is a good news.

Well i think ultimately the price is meant to go up since i don't think that the 20k ath is already bitcoin's peak. But the road towards that would be very long and weay even have another yearly low this year who knows. If you're in this for the long run then good for you since the market may be very profitable in the future.
