And I got even more worried. Let's imagine the future, based on the developers rationale.

-- Q2 2017 --

As originally announced, DECENT Platform was supposed to start on June 30, 2017 at 1:00pm GMT. Based on the overwhelming community outreach we have decided to ensure an equal opportunity to participate for everyone. Therefore, we have decided the best possible solution would be to postpone the start day to the next quarter.

It's better to be safe than sorry. If they found some sort of bug in their system and are being ultra cautious, then it's better to be late 24 hour than an hour. I feel more comfortable that way.

The problem is that it's been over an hour since the delay was announced and no word as to what the issue is. But remember, it's better to be safe.

Sure. Nobody is disappointed with their precautions. Disappointed with their inability to test it beforehand and put the ICO online at the promised time.

When you advertise something, you need to be sure you will be able to deliver what you announced. And remember that many people here were indirect advertisers, through signatures, spreading the word to friends and so on. This is a big shame on everybody.

I just realized what they meant by "Google support" is being qualified for Google ads!?

Yes. Ingenious, isn't it? I liked the concept of DCT, so I didn't care much about this Google thing and moved on with my idea of supporting the project. Shame on me I think...
1564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: September 10, 2016, 02:22:04 PM
ICO just changed to 11th of september!

Are you part of the team? If not don't joke like that, because if others take it seriously and then leave, and then an hour it start, they are going to miss out.

lol check on their website.

Why so many ppl panic even ico start and postpone lol

For me it is a bad signal. Would you fly on an airplane that got a mal-functioning lamp? Today, the problem is the lamp, the next thing may be the engine. Signal = bad preventive maintenance.

lol it's different!
So you should not invest in DCT because bad signal  Grin
For me it's good. Bye bye

For me its pretty obvious why so many people lost interest (or at least part of the interest) on the project. I cannot think of what happened today as something neutral. It was bad, and raises many concerns on the development team, who cannot even set an ICO scheme on time. Warren Buffett used to say a company relies much on its management, so he doesn't buy bad managament companies, even when the company has a fabulous business case. Would you put your money into somebody's hands to develop DCT, whereas they cannot even properly set an ICO (quite easier task)? I understand their concerns...

Does anybody here knows when the main net is about to be launch? I mean the DCT platform

Q1/Q2 2017!
So you have to wait at least 7 month ... probably more ...

Meaning my investment will be tradable only in Q2 2017?

Yes. The coins will be released after the launch of the DCT platform. That's why.

Where did you get that information from?

Probably on the official site... https://sale.decent.ch/

ICO just changed to 11th of september!

Not surprised. Not the first time they change ICO date. Will there be any explanation? Well, whatever they say, will probably sound lame excuses...

Why there is no PR person informing about what is going on, why the ICO was delayed etc.

How hard is that? I get the feeling the project is run by a guy in his parents basement.

He overslept this morning. How can he say that here?
1572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: September 10, 2016, 01:59:27 PM
According to dev plan. The client should be released in Q2 2017. Will tokens be released before that?
No.

The plan is Q1/2017 or Q2/2017 (I read it Q2/2017 lol)

But sometimes it is read Q1/2017 solely. Well... Probably gonna be delayed by about a quarter or two, with little information. Even though they are doing their best, bad things happen. Delays are normal.

Can we send from exchanges ?

AFAIK you can, but then the owner of the tokens would be the exchanges. Not really what you want, right? Would the exchange transfer the tokens to your account? Maybe... But if they haven't announced it so far, it is not something they are not in any legal obligation and they probably will not do (it is not "easy" to do so, it takes some menwork).

So, please, don't do that. Create a wallet and send from it. You got time.

But isn't it going to be like other ICO where you create an account with the website, and then they give you a unique address, and so you can send it from anywhere. Exchanges, personal wallet, etc. Unfortunately they haven't answered that.

Probably, but there is a scenario where they don't do that.

They posted on their blog: "All funds will go directly into Coinbase 2-of-3 multi-signature vault. Meaning that, in order to withdraw the funds, 2 out of three signees need to agree on it."

When I read "directly", I interpreted we will send it directly. But, considering the "final testing" thing, we are probably going to see a more sophisticated method, hopefully. Then you would be able to send from exchanges.

I hope so, because they haven't been very clear about that. And I would imagine that since it's not clear many will send from exchanges.

I totally agree with your perspective. I decided to create a wallet myself, because everthing about this ICO changes out of nothing at all! One day is the ICO date (from Sept 1st to Sept 10th), another day then the bounties changes (a like on Facebook instead of a post). Now the ICO time postponed about 1 hour. No indication on the website. I would not be surprised if they post "do not send from exchanges to <address>".

This is really not a good start. It's going to screw some people who planned out their day for this moment, and then suddenly they can't invest because they have other responsibilities. Would anyone else be in favor of changing the ICO to another day. Tomorrow or next week?

I can't tomorrow and wednesday. What about you? Let's see a day that fits in everybody's schedule!

Now, seriously, tomorrow is Sunday, and on Sunday many people are with their families. It is like a sacred holiday. I hope they can at least hold their word concerning the day, cause they didn't about the time.

how can i create this account on the sales page?

You need to own a bitcoin wallet (not poloniex, kraken... I mean one that you really own the keys, like blockchain.info).
Send bitcoin from this wallet to the wallet to be provided shortly (God knows when) on https://sale.decent.ch/

Hmm ....offline.

I didn't see any downtime this morning on the ICO website.

Well, the bitcoin address has just been released: <my address> just deposit and go to work Smiley

j/k

F5, F5, F5...

Final testing is being done. DECENT ICO start is postponed for about an hour. Stay tuned to our official channels! https://twitter.com/DECENTplatform

Are you serious? Website still says GMT 1:00 PM, although it is already 1:03 PM and no address has been revealed.

Any bug found? What do you mean final testing? Hadn't it been tested already?
1580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: September 01, 2016, 03:10:55 AM

When you learn about Synereo, you'll find that its near future meets or exceeds existing companies offerings, specifically, either Bitcoin or Ethereum.  In the future, there will be many stable companies based on token funding, "dApp coins", and the like - there is a whole Industry to make here, and there will be many participants, and many winners.

As people can see Synereo looks nothing like Bitcoin and only a little bit like Ethereum so it shouldn't be compared to those coins.

The comparison was stated for what those platforms can do, not how they might be categorized.

Bitcoin and Ethereum do not engage into private sales of tokens without previous announcement (the first page of this thread doesn't show this option). What was the price? How many tokens were sold? When will they be available to private buyers?

Decentralization, public and distributed ledgers... The very opposite of such private offerings held here.
