I want all the best to Synereo, really! I believe they may work hard on something and succeed in it. I hope so. However, it is undeniable that they downgraded their product vision to less than half of the marketed product. I am not discussing whether the value of AMPs will go up or down (although the market price already gives us a clue on that). The point is that people bought an idea, a concept, that is no longer, but didn't get the opportunity to get back their money, and that's unfair, to say the least.

I had a deep feeling that things could go similar to Synereo controversy just before the crowdfunding campaign has started on BnK. Where are we now? Back to the start with only project - social platform - that has very obscure future as many social media based projects are going on the scene with bigger potential.
They promised many revolutionary solutions, then they (naively speaking) were very unlucky. Therefore, they decided to change the mission statement of the project (and still some people fiercely advocate no change was made, OMG!) Probably the biggest blockchain scam in 2016 if no refund is made to people who have never wanted to take a stake in this diminished project. |

But how convenient to have this fight immediately after the ICO ... Ethereum CEO, Charles Hoskinson resigned due to disagreements over how the company should be run. ETH is now #2 on CoinMarketCap. However, he didn't try to destroy the company by making it look bad to investors like Greg did. If you saw the live videos back in December, you'll find that he repeatedly says, "I think that the investors have a right to know what is going on, it is only fair to them" - he doesn't care about the project's backers. If he really cared about them then why would he refuse to have private conversations about his problem with Synereo? He chose to hurt our investment by talking about the matter on Google Hangouts where the whole world can see. Initially, people didn't know who to side with because they didn't know all the facts. Greg took advantage of that. Dor won the chess game. The devs will continue on. Ethereum managed to do so and I don't see why Synereo can't/won't. The purpose of Ethereum was to create a smart contracts blockchain, not to be run by Charles Hoskinson. They used investors's btc into creating a smart contracts blockchain, so that's right. Synereo, on the other hand, promised to rethink the whole internet through a blockchain that could be sliced in a way that the whole blockchain would not necessarily be replicated by all nodes. They made very clear that the social layer was only the beginning of the chain of ideas that started in 2014 and ended up with rethinking the whole internet. So it is not about replacing a person in the project. Synereo chamged the purpose of the project and did not give back the crowdsale resources. That's not admissible. |

Then Dor comes and says deadlines are bad. But he chose to put deadlines to get lots of money and now changes everything. What a scammer! If he was honest, we would never see timelines during the crowdsale.

I also read about the coin and I have no idea what this coin is offering to make it shoot to the moon. Really? Well, your loss friend. I would prefer that they did what I would have done in their place: apologize for the inconvenience and refund investors. If you ask for money to organize a Rolling Stones show and then you find out your partner in charge of contacting them is gone and all you can do is contacting Maroon 5, would you still do the show? It doesn't matter how good Maroon 5 is! You must refund everyone (or everyone who shows interest is a refund), instead of "staying competitive". It is not about token price. I remember that at some point in a previous roadmap there was talk about launching a FULL NODE program that required a minimum amount of AMPs in order receive network rewards / fees, kind of like that XEM does. And if was supposed to launch in Q1 2017. Does anybody know is that's still a plan. Is so, we all remember what happened last year when XEM did this...

Stop scaring people with small things like this ,and focus on the big picture. The alpha should come out soon and it will rock the world. I did a little reading about Synereo and the issue about Greg Meredith leaving the project. I learned that Greg started Rchain and Special K that everyone was excited about because the technology is more advance than the blockchains that we have now. I also learned that Rchain and Special K was precisely the reason why Synereo has raised millions in funding. On what technology will Synereo run now that Rchain and Special K is out of the picture?
Synereo LTD still owns all the RChain IP and is actively developing it. Greg was a developer working on RChain and was fired. Greg cannot take Synereo LTD IP and form a new company around it. Synereo LTD is still actively pursing the development of advanced blockchain solutions utilizing the RChain IP and other technologies. The previous roadmap of waiting for RChain deployment to run the social network has been scrapped. A new roadmap has been issued which has an accelerated deployment schedule. The attention economy will go live on existing social networks which will enable testing and user procurement. This is deemed the "Alpha". A new blockchain tech will be developed simultaneously which will allow the attention economy to transition over to a fully decentralized social network after testing on existing social networks. AMPs will be utilized during the Alpha phase. I found the new roadmap and I found it to be a little vague. There were no dates and it looked like it was made for the purpose of appeasing the AMP holders. I also found out that the Synereo CEO expected Greg Meredith to already have a working product of his Rchain and Special K which I think he himself invented. Later it was found out that Greg does not have a working product. Maybe Rchain needs more work and more time so an accelerated deployment schedule would be impossible unless they release a centralized database instead. I've said this several time that it is dishonourable from Synereo team not to refund ICO fund to the investors, what they are offering now is half of the package promised during the ICO but this is what you get where there is no regulation, investors are the ones to bear the loss. It is not Synereo's fault. You knew what you were getting into before you made an investment in their ICO. All Initial Coin Offerings bear its investors a great risk. But the rewards are also huge so it is your gamble if you want to go into it. Saying that they are dishonorable is a mistake. In any investment decisions you make, you are the one solely responsible. Sorry that you lost your savings. They got money for one purpose. And they are simply not using the money for that purpose, because they found out (naively speaking) that one of the two co-founders left, the one he was in charge of most things (rchain and special-K). So they must give investors an abandonment option, instead of unilaterally deciding to do something easier, smaller, narrowed than promised. They can't simply take the money and do whatever comes to their mind (and with no deadline omg!) |

I have been watching Synereo silently for 9 months now, and for all the things I saw here, I have to admit that the community is very resilient. Numerous fud and lying attempts have been tried by newbie accounts, looking at the past 4 pages, that is easy to see. Well but still the community is still together. I have also followed the slack channel, and I have seen a lot of positive things there. Dor has been working very hard to make this project succeed, and I have all my respect for hard workers. And all the hard work has now made me decide to put some stake in this.  I have 39 BTC ready to invest in AMP right now, and I have already a verified Poloniex account where I will buy AMP. The only thing I need to do now is to transfer the BTC to the exchange and to push the BUY button. I will do just that, but before I do that, I want to hear people's opinions about Jan 20. I have heard that the price will go up because the new roadmap release.
What is your opinion guys? Dor promised to burn unsold AMPs. It's been months since the crowdsale finished, but he still hasn't! On the other hand, when the crowdsale was ongoing and he wanted to support prices at Polo above the 33k threshold, he was very quick to burn almost one billion AMPs! Do you think he works hard and sticks to his word? Unfortunately I couldn't disagree more. He burned so many AMPs only to collect few more BTC (a thousand, maybe, who knows how much less he would have collected if he didn't burn them). No wonder why he didn't do the only right thing: refund who supported Synereo based on the terms (white paper) Synereo published, which is an Error 404 page today. |
