721  Economy / Economics / Re: why do people agree to pay taxes? on: January 23, 2018, 02:32:35 PM
I believe the best way to understand it is reading about the theory of a "social contract" as defined by Jean Jacques Rousseau. That's why we agree to pay taxes.
722  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Warren Buffett selfish? on: January 23, 2018, 02:13:29 PM
Yea he is selfish because he wants people to stay invested into the stocks and assets that he has. He speaks unkindly of bitcoin for a reason.

He is surely under a conflict of interest. And remember that he doesn't know much about technology. He kind of missed the tech boom and only started investing in Intel not long ago. I wouldn't be surprised if he missed the cryptocurrencies boom.
723  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is useless on: January 23, 2018, 02:08:35 PM
I am amazed with number of people being fooled with BTC:

1. Transactions takes hours
2. Fees are high
3. Development team sucks, uncapable solve scalability issues for years
4. Its not anonymous, every solution to make it, failed so far
5. Its centralized: who is biggest hash power owner? Who is biggest miner hardware provider? Who owns most of bitcoins? What is % of Bitcoins in coldstorage and what in exchanges ( Ye Mt Gox )
6. There is 0 economics for BTC, it just tight to USD with liquidity providers, cut that and try to value pizza box with just BTC
7. Its not store of value, its not digital gold, and it will never be 100k USD. Because it has no value. It has value only for energy probiders, hardware manufactures and random phils.
8. Its not insured, If some crap happened to your BTC, its gone.

Such crap will never be used in payments, noone wants to support Terrabytes or Petabytes of data.

Its funny to observe how uneducated shills trying to make casual office landline phone to look smart phone.

BTC is scam of the century, stay away.

1. It should be solved with Lightning Network.
2. It should be solved with Lightning Network.
3. It should be solved with Lightning Network.
4. It is rather pseudonymous. You can create as many addresses as you want. One per transaction, for example.
5. It is decentralized, but few players are dominant.
6. It is a great store of value.
7. It is a good, though volatile, store of value.
8. You can pay for insurance. I remember cryptofacilities had an offer of a third party service long ago.
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: January 23, 2018, 01:59:25 PM
New white paper is published. Intro and link are available here: https://blog.synereo.com/2018/01/22/synereos-white-paper-and-the-road-to-a-fairer-internet/

What about Special K, sharding and some other techs that you promised during the second token sale? I don't find them there.

Great to see you still here helping to keep the thread active!

This whitepaper is just for Wildspark, the early phase of the roadmap.

Blockchain issues come later.

Great. I'm looking forward for that.

Considering the team raised so much cryptocurrencies (BTC) for that intent, it is now mandatory that such objectives are pursued, unless the BTC are refunded along with some compensation to investors.
725  Economy / Economics / Re: More than 10 percent of $3.7 billion raised in ICOs has been stolen: Ernst & You on: January 22, 2018, 09:50:25 PM
These figures seem to be underestimated. I bet the real number is unfortunately much more than 10%. Nice article though.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: January 22, 2018, 09:45:21 PM
When are secure nodes payments going to be resumed? Any forecast or schedule? I think I read it was going to resume in mid-January.

728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SophiaTX Announcement - The Blockchain for Business on: January 22, 2018, 08:45:45 PM
From February 1st we have a full page on easyJet’s inflight magazine which has 8 million viewers monthly. You can take a look at the introductory article that we have prepared for EasyJet's passengers here.

That is some very good news. Everbody knows that most read magazines are in-flight magazines. It would probably make sophiatx to reach way more people.

Wow, I rarely see projects advertizing their platform right after the ICO. They usually spend all their budget in order to raise funds and just forget the big step is the next one. Awesome!
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: January 22, 2018, 08:42:58 PM
Two and a half year pass about this. I joined the signature with my old account and lost it when i'm soldier in my countries army Smiley
This is sad for me. I remember you. However , What about this altcoin? Listing anywhere?

Two and a half years?
Listing anywhere?

I think you came to the wrong thread, buddy. This project had its ICO less than 1 and a half year ago and it is listed in several exchanges, including Bittrex and HitBTC (two among the top ranked in terms of volume).
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zclassic, Zcash Fork No Premine, No 20% Founders Tax on: January 22, 2018, 12:01:28 PM
I read both opinions and I would like to add that ZCL was much lower than ZEN not long ago. It only overcame in price because of the fork. If the fork doesn't take place we are probably going to see ZCL below Zencash once more.
731  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin Legal? on: January 21, 2018, 02:19:44 AM
Bitcoin can be perfectly legal, as well as perfectly outlawed. Remember that governments are autonomous and have sovereignty, which enables them to outlaw bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies if they desire so.
732  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: January 16, 2018, 09:56:48 PM
If they didn't steal, rob or something like that... If they earned their wealth, then they surely deserve it. It is just like soccer: if the ball crosses the goal line, the team scores, no matter how they managed to make the ball cross the goal line.
733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: January 15, 2018, 07:51:42 PM
What I like the best about bitcoin is it is digital and unique at the same time. Anything digital can be multiplied infinite times, while bitcoin is digital and still cannot be double spent.
734  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you see the bitcoin economy 10 years from now? on: January 15, 2018, 07:21:49 PM
There exists more than one thread/s asking the same question. So please lock this topic because it gets more infected with shitposters.
Widespread user base and acceptance is one thing that the community expects. Prices to go up more, preferably. Legit and good exchanges for trading crypto is a requirement that needs urgent consideration. The argument for it can go and on, about where will bitcoin, the pros and cons will be compared by bitcoin economists, and arriving at an exact conclusion is not possible, as there aren't many economists specialized in Bitcoin. So yeah.

Yes, I agree. We can not have any idea about what will happen 10 years later. This is crypto. We can't predict the next month. What about 10 years? What I said is the only things we probably can agree on: energy consumption and scalability need to be addressed. This experiment cannot be mainstream coin (as the name says) without addressing these 2 issues.
735  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you see the bitcoin economy 10 years from now? on: January 15, 2018, 07:11:27 PM
Bitcoin is a successful experiment, but it doesn't mean it will necessarily stay lke this. It has to evolve. One important thing is energy consumption. Another one is scalability.
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SophiaTX Announcement - The Blockchain for Business on: January 14, 2018, 08:23:15 PM
SPHTX has just got listed on COBINHOOD! You can trade it with ETH and BTC. https://cobinhood.com/trade/SPHTX-ETH

are this and https://www.bit-z.com/ the only ways we can buy SPHTX?

You can't buy from bit-z right now. You should wait for 20th of January for listing.

You can buy sophiatx from etherdelta, qryptos and cobinhood currently.

Cobinhood looks quite good and it charges no commission fee for trades at the moment. They say their Tier 1 verification usually takes only a few minutes, while Qryptos takes like a week or two.

Well, I like cobinhood. But there are issues, my Tier 1 verification has been pending for a few days.
There are no fees, true, but there is very low volume.

You are right. I just found out they have a minor issue in their KYC API and a high amount of applications received, so they need more time to check every single information manually. Their FAQ is not updated with this information.

ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT NEW EXCHANGE LISTING!
#SPHTX is going to be listed on Bit-z.
Deposit will be opened at 7:00 AM January 19. (UTC)
Trading will be opened at 7:00 AM January 20. (UTC)

Website: https://www.bit-z.com/

This is great news. Bit-z has more volume than qryptos, etherdelta cobinhood and any other exchanges which said they will list us. Price is growing steadily on the other hand.

At the moment Qryptos is #61 in coinmarketcap 24h volume ranking, which is higher than EtherDelta and Cobinhood. Bit-Z is #11, which is a whole new level. Congratulations!
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]COSS Token Swap ICO is LIVE on: January 13, 2018, 07:32:51 PM
COSS team needs to improve user experience ASAP!

For example: I have much more than 0.002 ETH in my Dashboard at COSS. Why does it keep saying I need 0.002 ETH to distribute ETH if I got much more than that from split fee allocation? It sounds very stupid to demand the user to deposit 0.002 ETH so that he/she can withdraw his Ethers. The fee (which is already excessively high) should be paid by COSS and deducted from the distribution. They could easily pay 0.001 ETH and allow the user to distribute ETH to his/her wallet and charge 0.002 ETH from the distributed amount.

Now I (and everybody I suppose) will have to deposit some ETH to pay for this fee, wait for the transfer to be done and so on...
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: January 13, 2018, 05:12:02 PM
Decent is best long-term project to invest, last price is 2,3$ and I will hold and wait until Decent goes to 10$ and hopefully happen this year. keep up Decent!

DCore looks like Ethereum for outsiders. I know DCore has lots of capabilities, but we should focus instead on what we can really do that differentiate DECENT from Ethereum and alike, which is p2p trustless content distribution (with revenue sharing and other perks) in a much better way than any other blockchain.
