602  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people says gold is better? on: February 18, 2018, 07:06:16 PM
Actually today I watched a video on facebook which is about spending bitcoin and gold in USA,it says it is difficult to spend bitcoin but some places are accepting bitcoins accepting as payment like supermarket, restaurants and some institutions. But no one accepting gold as payment then why still people says gold is better?
the only thing that makes gold to be better than bitcoin the digital gold is its stable price and of course its recognized in all parts of the world, but when we talk of payment for everyday use gold takes us back to the old barter system which is a no-go area for me, we have advanced with technology and bitcoin will of course be better here.

On Feb. 16, six large-scale Blockchain projects OmiseGo, Cosmos, Golem, Maker and Raiden, that have completed successful multi-million dollar initial coin offerings (ICOs) last year, along with Japanese venture capital firm Global Brain have created the Ethereum Community Fund (ECF), to fund projects and businesses within the Ethereum ecosystem.

The ECF will begin with $100 mln, likely raised by the six Blockchain projects. Some members of the Ethereum Foundation including Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin plan to advise the fund. Buterin told TechCrunch:“Ethereum has grown beyond my expectations over the last few years, but the work is clearly not finished. Delivering value that matches the hype should be the mantra of 2018; efforts such as the ECF which help organize the development of the ecosystem are going to help to make that possible.”

Buterin’s personal goal of funding open-source projects
In September 2017, Buterin revealed that his advisor shares from $1.8 bln project OmiseGo and $370 mln decentralized cryptocurrency exchange Kyber Network will be allocated in a private fund to finance open-source projects building innovative technologies such as scaling solutions for the Ethereum Blockchain network.

FCC Officially Warns Brooklyn BTC Miner Of ‘Harmful Interference’ To T-Mobile

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has sent an official notice, dated Feb. 15, to a resident of Brooklyn, New York, Victor Rosario, citing that his Bitcoin (BTC) miner was causing harmful interference to T-Mobile’s broadband network.

The “Notification of Harmful Interference” stated that the device was “generating spurious emissions on frequencies” for T-Mobile’s network. Continued use of his Antminer s5 Bitcoin Miner in a way that caused harmful interference would be breaking federal laws subject to penalties, “including, but not limited to, substantial monetary fines, ‘in rem’ arrest action to seize the offending radio equipment, and criminal sanctions including imprisonment.”

The notice contains a caveat clarifying that not all Antminer s5 devices generate harmful interference, and suggesting that devices originally compliant with federal laws on radio frequency interference can be modified to make them non-compliant.

Victor Rosario has 20 days from the date of the warning, which was delivered Feb. 15, to tell the FCC if he is still using the device, provide all labeling information, detail what he will do to prevent a repeat incident, and provide proof of purchase for the miner.

Elsewhere in the US in Washington state, Bitcoin mining overloaded the electrical infrastructure of an entire county due to the increasing numbers of miners flocking to take advantage of Washington’s cheap electricity.

In Iceland, cryptocurrency mining is set to use more power this year than all of the 340,000 Icelandic residents’ personal use put together.

606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why media against bitcoin ? on: February 18, 2018, 04:04:59 PM
when ever I found any news about bitcoin it is negative news , i am confused why traditional mass media always against bitcoin ?

Media is against bitcoin because they are just following the instructions of the people that are higher than them in exchange of money. That is their job, to spread news whether it's fake or real news. Also, most people are close minded about crypto currency that they believe the news easily. Media is powerful so as traders and investors, let's just ignore if they're spreading negative news about bitcoin.
I think so too, the people that are influencing these media houses to give a bad reputation of bitcoin could be their sponsors who could be banks and are just trying to protect themselves from being barred from operating. My conclusion is they just want to remain in business by following the law.
607  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do u agree that Bitcoin will go to 500,000$ in 2020 by john Macafee claim ? on: February 17, 2018, 10:49:02 AM
John macafee tweeted last month that bitcoin will hit 500,000$ in next 2 to 3 years whats your opinion about that? are u seeing this or not??
The cryptocurrency market is very unpredictable to write off the $500k prediction and 2-3 years is a lot of time anything could happen considering  the continued interest coming from people all over the world I think this could happen

Coincheck Produces Recovery Plan While Investors Flock to Withdraw Funds

Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck has submitted a report to the country’s financial authority outlining measures it will take following the hack that lost 58 billion yen worth of the cryptocurrency NEM from its platform. However, customers rush to withdraw 40.1 billion yen of their funds so far as the exchange resumes yen withdrawal service.

Coincheck’s Improvement Plans
Coincheck has submitted a report to the Japanese Financial Services Agency (FSA) as mandated under the Order to Improve Business Operations. The order was handed to the exchange by the FSA following the hack that resulted in the loss of 58 billion yen (~USD$544 million) worth of NEM from its platform.
In its report, Coincheck explains key areas of improvement to the agency. Specifically, the exchange detailed four of its plans: “1) investigating the facts and causes surrounding this case, 2) [providing] proper support for our customers, 3) strengthening current measures to manage system risk, 4) creating new measures for system risk management and preventing similar events in the future in addition to making it clear where the responsibility lies for different risks.”

609  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is campaign rates dipping? on: February 15, 2018, 02:33:37 PM
We have to understand that token sales have evolved ever since the featured on the forum and if you have noticed we now have few campaigns paying with bitcoin because the project tends to spend more on its marketing thats why some that have hang around are paying in both btc and ICO tokens to attract users to help promote its product, otherwise it makes sense for a project to pay in its native currency than payout in btc.

Cisco And Ukrainian Cyber Police Uncover $50 Mln Bitcoin Phishing Scam

Technology conglomerate Cisco and the Cyber Police of Ukraine have revealed a Ukrainian Bitcoin (BTC) phishing ring that has stole over $50 mln over a three year period, Cisco’s threat intelligence team Talos reports.

Talos was first alerted to the phishing threat on Feb. 24, 2017, when a Ukrainian-based phishing scheme, COINHOARDER, targeted the blockchain.info wallet service through Google Ads that contained “gateway phishing links” and generating over 200,000 client search queries.

The Google Ads would appear to represent the real blockchain.info Bitcoin wallet by using domain names that closely resembled that of the official wallet, like blockchein.info. The phishing sites themselves are also designed to match the real site in every way except for the domain name.

Talos reports that COINHOARDER began making their phishing site look more legitimate over time by using rogue SSL certificates in combination with their “typosquatting,” “brand spoofing,” and “homograph attacks.”

Talos found that the phishing targeted geographic areas where local currencies were unstable and English was not the first language of the region, like Nigeria and Ghana, for victims were more likely to miss the slight differences in the domain and SSL names.

Cisco’s collaboration with the Cyber Police of Ukraine helped them identify the attackers’ BTC wallet address. Talos writes that “around $10 mln” alone was stolen while tracking the wallet’s activity from Sept. through Dec. 2017.

After the discovery of this large-scale phishing scheme, Cisco began flagging the associated domains as suspicious, and used DNS requests to find and block other domains opened by the same registrant of the initial site.

Talos ends their report with the list of the IP addresses associated with the phishing scam, as well as ways for Cisco customers to protect themselves against similar threats.

Crypto phishing scams on Twitter have recently become much more prevalent, with users creating fake accounts that closely mimic those of crypto elites like Charlie Lee or Vitalik Buterin and then promoting fake crypto giveaways.

611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sell your house for investment in btc. on: February 15, 2018, 01:03:13 PM
Just imagine selling your $259,900 house for 43BTC and 2 Months in street.

and after just 2 months sell 43BTC for $498198.

Again buying the previous also you will be in profit of $472298.

would you try this technique.
The problem with this is once you give up your house you will be homeless and people will find it hard to help you with shelter as they will see you to be selfish but if you where going on a holiday for this long I would try it out but this is a high risk techniques don't try this with you house it doesn't work for everyone.
612  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it chance to jump in? on: February 15, 2018, 08:25:13 AM
the market is down now. Coins are cheap now. Do you think it's time to jump in now, or we can wait for lower price?
its being almost a month since the markets went down and as of today's price report,

I see most coins showing some good signs of recovery and the crypto market isnt as volatile as it was either. For your ow information with crypto people will always make money weather market is up or down so jump in while you can.
613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Token price fall after ICO on: February 14, 2018, 08:33:24 PM
Have there been any tokens where the trading price on exchanges at the very start fell considerably below the ICO price and has not recovered?
For projects that are well organised and supporters talk good things about it, I have not seen or heard any that has fallen below the ICO price unless it proved to be a scam and investors pull out or maybe token does not even make it to an exchange...
614  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $ 100,000 will be in 2018? on: February 14, 2018, 07:58:31 PM
Friends do you think whether the bitcoin of the $ 100,000 course in 2018 will reach. I ask your opinion to justify why you think so. My answer is, yes, I think that bitcoin will be worth or at least will affect this price, because the crypt is now in the growth phase, technology blockchain will be introduced everywhere in different industries.
People are certainly having the interest in crypto but for 2018 alone getting to 100k doesn't sound possible unless we have institutional investors all wanting a piece of the pie to push the price to as much as $100k.
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: February 14, 2018, 06:13:04 PM
Manchester City with 4-0 is already in the quarterfinals and is certainly among the favorites for the victory of the champion's league!
Precious draw for 2-2 of Tottenham away against Juventus!
Now Tottenham is favored for qualifying for the quarterfinals.

There are great chances that an English team will win the cup this year.
Manchester City definitely is a team to consider as favourites for the champion's league but games are won on the field not on paper and lets not forget teams with so much experience in this type of competition are still in the hunt and depending on todays results we certainly will have an idea of who might reach the finals.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: February 14, 2018, 06:47:19 AM
Juve vs Tottenham and Zvezda vs CSKA have draw written all over them. Bet BIG WIN BIGGER!

Man I’m too good seems to me like nobody listens. I made $1K today with these two easily.
a double on this was some good money, i can imagine placing the bet after Juv scored first this should have paid even more money to the pundits, nice prediction Zlatna Grin
617  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now below 8000 time to buy now on: February 11, 2018, 11:46:14 AM
Bitcoin is very low today even 7700 buck...do you think is good time to buy now or will more lower and crash to 3000 buck...very difficult to predict...what do you think... Who t f is selling on this price.....?....
let us not forget bitcoin has gone as high as $19k and it could do it again as more people know of bitcoin and the crypto community is growing every day which means demand is there, so if the price is this low buy without hesitating as it will wind back to the value it dropped from and will be singing all the way to the bank with our profits.
618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 19 year old millionaire advice on Bitcoin on: February 11, 2018, 10:43:26 AM
To be honest you cant compare the crypto market back then when bitcoin was the ultimate crypto commanding over 80% of the market cap to what we have today and not forgetting we now have shitcoins to look out for, pump and dump coins and a whole lot of variables to consider, its good the 19 year old invested while the market was being doubted by most of us.

620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chinese new year on: February 10, 2018, 10:09:55 PM
With the Chinese New year coming, who believes that the crypto market with go down again? Speculating on whether to hold out to purchase more of some altcoins such as VIB, XVG, and looking at other possibilities
From my analysis  the crypto market was affected when coming to the Chinese New year and after this comes to pass people should expect prices to rise as the chinese will be back on the market and demand and price will rise as they will be off their holidays.
