741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2017, 10:38:16 PM
I believe too much freedom is bad and for a large country such as China control is important and the only way to keep its people within their rules and regulations as people could easily go astray. And I dont think they hate bitcoin probably just trying to avoid been the driver of this technology.
742  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-10-11] Goldman Sachs: Not Trading Bitcoin Yet, But Still Interested on: October 11, 2017, 09:53:36 PM

The demand for Bitcoin and the rush to invest in the digital coin are growing daily. Despite the criticism and ‘fraud’ accusations, great names like Goldman Sachs Group Inc. are thinking about introducing a cryptocurrencies trading desk and what kind of legal bottlenecks are involved.

Goldman Sachs

It was reported earlier that the company is considering the possibility for its investors to trade in Bitcoin. The bank is yet to commence cryptocurrency trading and is looking into the legal implications.

A bank as experienced as Goldman Sachs wouldn’t want to jump into a business that may face regulations in the future; it has to be sure that the possible hurdles are looked into before taking a leap.

Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein on Twitter:

"Still thinking about #Bitcoin. No conclusion -- not endorsing/rejecting. Know that folks also were skeptical when paper money replaced gold."

Cryptocurrency trading, as any other trading, is a volatile business and the fact that illicit business owners may also have access to it means that it could be subjected to regulatory laws sooner than later.

While countries like Estonia, India, Malta, Japan, Russia, and China are already thinking of launching their own national cryptocurrencies, they still fear Bitcoin could be fully accepted. And some financial regulatory agencies, like the SEC, think that this area needs to be fully regulated.

If Goldman Sachs eventually joins Bitcoin trading, it would no doubt boost investors’ confidence in the digital coin and will most likely increase its demand even more.

744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To Buy BCH or not to Buy BCH? on: October 11, 2017, 02:10:03 PM

745  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WARNING: Site onestpay stole all my btc on: October 11, 2017, 12:31:08 PM

746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Centra.tech BEST IN BUSINESS on: October 11, 2017, 12:17:13 PM

748  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price Forecast $5,000 Today 10/10/2017 to End Of Month on: October 11, 2017, 05:11:46 AM
I Equally thought we shall breach $5000 around this time frame but looks like we have been pulled back to the $4700-$4800 hope we can get people to panic buy and get the price where we want it to be.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [Bounty] bitJob: Decentralized Student Marketplace - Bounty Program on: October 10, 2017, 08:01:53 PM
is the post count stop today for the signature campaign? or still continue till after 3 days of ICO ? im not yet done with the 100 post for this campaign because im late in registering to the campaign.
I honestly think support must go on until the devs officially close the tokensale, besides if we want a good allocation for our bounty we need more investors to get on this promising project
750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is a value set for a new coin? on: October 10, 2017, 07:29:22 PM
Besides the developers of the project I think the demand for the token during its crowdsale also gives the coin a price and at times after the tokensale depending on which exchange the coin is introduced say etherdelta traders get to determine the price too.
751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it right time to Buy Alts? on: October 10, 2017, 07:19:07 PM
Bitcoin has aligned its self as the best performing cryptocurrency in the third quarter and being highly valued today it would be easy to buy more altcoins for a less amount of bitcoins...I guess its the best time to buy ourselves some alts and also invest in some ICO's.
752  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-06] Over 10 000 people want BTC and LTC payments in Amazon on: October 10, 2017, 04:32:39 PM
The number of  people wanting to see Amazon take up  BTC and LTC payments might seem insignificant but for a company as big as Amazon... am pretty sure they are consulting on whether its safe to accept cryptocurrencies on their stores...should this happen these digital currencies will go to the moon.

4 Things That Can Push Bitcoin Price to $5,000 and Beyond

Those with even the shortest memory will recall that Bitcoin price just about broke the $5,000 mark in early September, before a substantial sell-off coincided with some vitriol from Jamie Dimon, and China cracking down on ICOs.

Now, however, the digital currency has bounced back and is well on its way to $5,000 again. There are a few factors that’ve got it here - none more so than the fact it was the best performer through the third quarter.

However, there are still a few factors that are pushing it, and a few reasons why $5,000 is on the horizon, if not even higher.

The return of the buzz
There is no doubting the fact that China’s approach, and Jamie Dimon’s attack, caused a perfect storm for Bitcoin belief. It was the coming together of the digital currencies’ two big enemies - institutionalised money and regulators - who were flexing their muscle in a show of perhaps fear.

However, those attacks have come and gone, and Bitcoin is none the worse for them, as there’s a buzz returning. What will really catalyse it will be a rollback of China’s ban - something that’s possible with an upcoming Communist party election - or perhaps Jamie Dimon to have a change of heart.

Financial crisis

Bitcoin has already shown that it laughs in the face of impending global disaster when the global market fell almost a percent as tension between the US and North Korea spiked.

"Bitcoin is a safe haven that is unaffected by normal market factors, and as these factors continue to escalate there could be a bigger trend towards digital currencies."

Internally, countries like Zimbabwe and Venezuela are hedging their bets on Bitcoin as their markets crumble around them.

Wall Street stamp of approval
While there’s a major dividing line on the allegiances of Wall Street bankers and institutions, many more are coming over to the digital currency side, leaving Dimon and Jordan Belfort stranded.

It was the arrival of institutionalized investors after the Aug. 1 split that saw Bitcoin tear off on another rally, and another big boost of endorsement from these trusted investors could be a tipping point.

Free money
At the end of October there is another fork coming to Bitcoin in the form of Bitcoin Gold, however, the term ‘fork’ is used quite lightly in this instance.

"It’s more of an air-drop than a chain split. Everybody that owns Bitcoin will also own Bitcoin Gold once the network goes live, but transactions on the Bitcoin Gold network won’t affect Bitcoin’s network, or vice versa."

Thus, many think that Bitcoin is booming - and altcoins declining - because there’s a chance of doubling your haul when this fork comes at the end of the month.

754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: October 09, 2017, 04:43:49 PM
I use to like them when winning was easy but now that I lost more money than I could win am not a fan of such games but I try to gamble with football games which seem to be fair to play.
755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins that will survive in 2018? on: October 09, 2017, 04:27:26 PM
What are the top 10 altcoins that can survive and keep growing in developers, community, price and usability?

In my opinion on first place is ethereum, for me it is the best investment on year 2018. This coin have very much transaction and his price will grow high at 100%
Ethereum  will survive for a long time but unfortunately it's price hasn't moved upwards in a long time hope things will change after its fork and I like the idea of https://bitjob.io/ which is project aimed at helping students and freelancers make money while doing their studies, project idea is unique and should grow once it goes live
756  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex or Poloniex. which one do you like to trade? on: October 09, 2017, 12:43:30 PM
There has been so much bad press coming from Poloniex and I hadly use it because I found easier exchanges to use but choosing between the two IMO i think Bittrex is better because it has a good reputation with the community.
757  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: October 09, 2017, 05:20:08 AM
Of course we all want to be rich which you can be if you work hard for your money but I believe this can be made possible if you can acquire some bitcoins  and hodl them for a good time for the value to rise
758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Phishing attempt on your Ether wallet via Slack and other communication channels on: October 05, 2017, 05:36:58 PM
after seeing the view-wallet-info string this got me thinking...your wallet only gets cleaned dry if you have some eth to supplement the transaction? Because I dont see the hacker sending in extra fees to move the tokens Roll Eyes
759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is there a Campaign that pays a ethereum? on: October 05, 2017, 05:25:45 PM
As far as I know high budget campaigns usually opt to pay in bitcoins and for other campaigns they usually pay in the projects currency and the closet you get to  ethereum are  ethereum based tokens (ERC20)
760  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BountyLord.com - Bounty Aggregator 180+ Bounty Campaigns on: October 05, 2017, 04:53:14 PM
Am equally impressed with how the site is organised , it was just a matter of time before someone came up with a bounty hub, thumbs up bountylord Smiley
I was planning to create a site like this before. Kudos bro. You created a good one.  How about a function to let the people sort the table according to end date of bounty? or sort according to bounty budget?

Thanks,
I thought the time frame of the ICO ending is the most important as bounty budget could change in certain cases ??
