Posted this on the Truckcoin thread: Southexchange, Mercatox, Coinex.com are all good exchanges we can move to, now  with the Cryptopia hack.  Any thoughts?

Southexchange, Mercatox, Coinex.com are all good exchanges we can move to, now with the Cryptopia hack. Any ideas on this?

Cryptopia is currently in unscheduled maintenance mode.
You can trade at (link: https://www.southxchange.com/Market/Book/COMP/LTC) southxchange.com/Market/Book/CO…
And other exchanges

I use SouthExchange, have had no problem.  These new exchanges are our saving grace.  Who can afford the prices that the top 100 coins pay or scam ICO's?
1224  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia - ONLINE ARTICLES related to hack & theft of funds 2019 (non discussion thread) on: January 16, 2019, 02:38:13 AM
It's not just about the loss of funds, it's also about the fact that many teams paid them to host their coins and then were delisted.  Coinexchange and many other exchanges do not delist coins like that.   If Cryptopia go down, a lot of coins will have some significant losses to their plans, because they won't have an exchange to trade on anymore.  It will be good to see decentralized exchanges and free listings of coins which has been happening in the newer small exchanges.
1225  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: January 15, 2019, 04:38:20 AM
Well, maybe they just realized that they can't run a decent exchange with all these wallets in maintenance and are taking downtime for that.
1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XSN] Stakenet - The World's First Trustless Proof of Stake Coin on: January 11, 2019, 06:14:36 PM
I decided to install my wallet on another machine and not very impressed with the way the company's vision is as far as marketing.  Only pretty naive business people think that the market thinks like they do, or wants to think like they do.

So, this is a crypto coin for the crypto geek community only.

First, I have to go to Github.  Which is now owned by Microsoft, an ominous sign.  Github is slow today for some reason, maybe MS doesn't like competition anymore.  They've turned over a new leaf, and decided to become competitive over time and are not allocating as much bandwidth.  Well, I guess some people sell out eventually.

Second, on Github it doesn't really say "Download the great new coin's wallet here."  But there are "updates."  At first it kind of looks like they might be patches or something.

I've taught the public and even business owners computer topics and believe me, they don't think like techies.

If you want any major adoption, you have to rethink your marketing/tech deployment angle.

I know this sounds like a rant, it's more like just giving a perspective and a little humor.   But, seriously, there is a lesson about trying to make one's interface as simple as possible.

Is this the main thread?  Odd to see this topic has died out here.

Did you see the dev logged in on December 18, 2018?   Someone is using his avatar in discord for the High coin project.

1229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is best PoS coin to invest into right now? on: January 08, 2019, 10:54:24 PM
Stakenet (XSN) is defs one you should look at. Here’s why:

  • They invented TPoS which is arguably the best offline staking solution.
  • They were the first POS/MN coin to implement Segwit, Atomic Swaps and Lightning Network
  • They were the first to perform Lightning Swaps on mainnet and publish a guide so anyone could try
  • They have confirmed integration with Ledger and Xeeda wallets for Cold Staking
  • They formed a partnership with Litecoin Foundation to develop Lightning Network
  • They launched their Cloud Staking platform supporting XSN, PIVX and Stratis currently with more on the way
  • They launched their Masternodes as a Service platform which they setup, maintain and update your MN for you. It is a trustless service so you keep your collateral safely in your own wallet
  • They launched Masternode monitoring and RSB services.

Now that was all 2018 and was to lay the foundation for what’s coming this year. They just released their roadmap for 2019 and its awesome.

The next release is going to be their Multi-currency Light Wallet which is going to be special. Their MN network is going to host all the Blockchains so the wallet doesn’t need too, you interact with the Blockchains by signing Lightning Invoices. This keeps the wallet lightweight as it only needs to hold your private keys so can be put on any device.

The next thing is their DEX which is also run via the MN network and utilises their Lightning Swap tech. This will mean P2P trading, straight from wallet to wallet, not having to trust a third party with your funds. They also have Frank Amato helping with the design to make sure it is fully featured exchange that has everything a pro trader would need.

They have even more coming as well like privacy features, CCPoS  and Dapps hosting. They also have their own Hardware Division which is also going to be bringing new and unique products to market.

The big picture here is that they have a hell of a lot of potential, their Lightning Swap tech alone is game changing. For example a retailer accepts BTC but you have LTC you can pay no problem, the Lightning Swap tech will convert your LTC for you as you make the payment to BTC for the retailer. Oh and the best part is that every services running on the MN network will collect fees for providing the services and all of those fees go back to the MN holders. So for example all the trading fees from the DEX get paid back to MN holders, this provides MNs multiple revenue streams for passive income.

Stakenet are a top tier project with a low tier market cap of $10M. That won’t last forever though as this years releases start dropping and people begin to notice. If you look on Ledgers Github you can see they working on a XSN integration right now.

https://github.com/LedgerHQ/lib-ledger-core/pull/79

There aren’t many if any projects that have more potential for this year than XSN in my opinion.

I agree.  It's a good coin.  How many do you need to get a stake every week?

Wallet is not syncing.  This has been going on for a while, on and off.  Can someone upload a bootstrap?  Perhaps, Cryptocity can host it like they did with Bottlecaps.

Truckcoin blockchain snapshots were updated to the fresh ones:

Can you enable SSL for the explorer? You can use: https://letsencrypt.org/
Thanks

Done! SSL enabled for https://truckcoin.net/ and https://explorer.truckcoin.net/  Cool

Perfect! Can you edit the page to be responsive? (This way it'll adapt to mobile) input fields, display template etc...

This is a great site, and it really helped out Bottlecaps immensely.   Please someone consider taking over the Truck page and promote the coin through it.

1232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LAMBO Coin 905% POS per Year / continued ... on: January 08, 2019, 02:58:02 PM
Yes, I have nodes ...im connect and still staking

Please, let's support each other.  Does anyone know how to use Peers.dat?  I know it's a binary file.  Perhaps if we uploaded and used it that would work.  I have a Lambo.conf file that has a ton of nodes but it's not working.

I know one way to secure an installation like we have now with Lambo is to select Detach Databases at shutdown but not near the wallet now and not sure if it has this feature.  That makes the wallet folders portable between computers, and probably easy to copy for a bootstrap.  WE must learn how to do a bootstrap of this coin.

OK, my wallet doesn't sync.  That means someone has to offer help with making a bootstrap.  There are ways to do that, check out "making a bootstrap in google."  I was trying to make one when we had storms and my power went out.

If we can't make a bootstrap, that means there is no team.  This is apt, for the "Lambo" guys who want to drive a Lambo, and waste their money on such, can't even support the wallet when it stops syncing.

I wasn't into this coin for the Lambo image, I was into it for the original vision of mining when you could actually make a lot of money doing it.
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LAMBO Coin 905% POS per Year / continued ... on: January 08, 2019, 02:56:59 PM
I don't see how a coin with 905% Pos Reward can be able to hold its value at least kinda stable.

POS rewards are only that high to reward and support early adopters.  We can always lower it later like other coins have done.  Look at Vulcano coin now.

The coin will be dead from the very beginning because such a rate causes extreme centralization.

It just depends on how well the coin is promoted.  If many people stake, there is no extreme centralization.

Anyone with a Member account level or above with good standing want to trade some DOGE for talk?   I would appreciate it.  Not talking about very much.  Yobit wallet is frozen and I can't buy from Novaexchange because I live in USA.  I'm looking for 1500 Talk for 775 DOGE.

More safety, but hardly more volumes. Aggressive advertising is needed. There will be no volumes without it.Vicious circle.

This developer didn't want to work with me in helping getting my staking book printed, so I had to go back to my day job businesses.  But, it will get printed.  I will have a special area to thank the coins that contributed, and so InflationCoin sadly won't get any more advertising that way.

1236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: InflationCoin - IFLT - 8% PoS Year III - SourceForge Project of the week 2018 on: January 05, 2019, 11:18:15 PM
on yobit  there will always be. Yobit rarely deletes coins so it is unlikely iflt will remove from cmc.The coin has a very good community. A lot of holders. The trading volume is small but everything changes.

It’s better not to say anything about scam exchanges like this one. This is just a thief service that reduces the reputation of the coins. Therefore, we must pretend that there is no our coin there and never advise anyone to expose their money to the risk of being lost in such damned trash cans like YoShit.

I agree with you about Yobit. But if there is no alternative - what then to do? I hope to delisting from other exchanges will not come.

There are about 50 exchanges now.  A team has to keep on getting their coin on new exchanges.
yes you are right. but if the meaning at the moment? in small exchanges, coin trading will not go, and large exchanges need big money.

It doesn't matter.  The name of the game in good staking coins is to keep them alive.  Exchanges generally act in unstable ways.  More exchanges bring more volume and more safety that the coin will survive.

I am syncing again after a storm caused the power to go out and the installation was corrupted as often happens with blockchains.
Syncing is taking days.

Is anyone able to put up a bootstrap?  We actually do not have one up at the site right now.

Haven't received it yet.  It's ID is 6dbf342e55aa4bb28715cfa528af7780109d7f6345fe3377c4616228ca56bec1

I don't see it on GRWCcoin explorer but since we have two and LAFU's is set up differently you may want to check.
