Is a recent bootstrap anywhere?  Please have team upload one somewhere.  Thanks.
1244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LAMBO Coin 905% POS per Year / continued ... on: December 30, 2018, 10:32:19 PM
I don't see how a coin with 905% Pos Reward can be able to hold its value at least kinda stable.

POS rewards are only that high to reward and support early adopters.  We can always lower it later like other coins have done.  Look at Vulcano coin now.

NOvA banned trading with many countries, they have gone CYA KYC AML harsh.
Which is silly since they are an ALT coin2coin exchange, not a fiat/crypto on ramp.

Anyone have a Nova account?
I don't understand why Nova team decided to act like this.
For now, weeks after re-open of the exchange, total volume there has been still very low.

To be honest, they may have seemed like a great exchange before the troubles they started having about a year ago, but behind the scenes they did have some problems with some coins that were a good of showing they either weren't that supportive or didn't has as much knowledge as other exchanges.  They also didn't have an informative layout for trading.   I still liked them though a lot and wish I could still trade there.
1246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LAMBO Coin 905% POS per Year / continued ... on: December 30, 2018, 10:17:39 PM
Yes, I have nodes ...im connect and still staking

Please, let's support each other.  Does anyone know how to use Peers.dat?  I know it's a binary file.  Perhaps if we uploaded and used it that would work.  I have a Lambo.conf file that has a ton of nodes but it's not working.

I know one way to secure an installation like we have now with Lambo is to select Detach Databases at shutdown but not near the wallet now and not sure if it has this feature.  That makes the wallet folders portable between computers, and probably easy to copy for a bootstrap.  WE must learn how to do a bootstrap of this coin.

1247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bottlecaps 2.1 UPDATE REQUIRED - HARDFORK JULY 4 2014 to 200% Annual PoS on: December 30, 2018, 07:48:34 PM
Todays active nodes. (updated)
Code:
addnode=69.118.194.126:7685
addnode=65.102.140.118:7685
addnode=65.102.140.122:7685
addnode=23.233.2.252:7685
addnode=178.128.53.162:7685
addnode=24.234.35.51:7685

Only wallet on default port can work as node.
Add port 7685 to router manually, because in current version removed UPnP.

I added these nodes but it didn't help it to sync.  Can someone upload a bootstrap?
Maybe we can use www.crypto-city.com as an official site for bootstraps?

Just because I want to learn about this more, I'm not running what might be a node so I don't think this applies to me.
But in login page of router and when I go to port forwarding and add it has an IP set up. I mine with some ASICS but do not know much about adding ports and such.  I'm using Windows 7.  In my netgear setup area, it has me determine what Service Name (FTP, HTTP, etc) and a server IP address with the first three numbers filled in. "Port 7685" does not look like and option for that address. 192.168.1. is the type of address I'm using.   I'm probably mixing apples and oranges but that is what my router is first presenting me.

Why did this all change a month or two ago?

Nova Exchange is open.

I don't think they take USA accounts now.

Wallet syncs good and mined some coins but nowhere except Yobit to trade this?  Yobit wallet has been in maintenance for at least a week.

OK, downloaded the only snapshot/bootstrap I see in thread and overnight syncing only went from 70.16 done to 70.60 done.
Can someone start uploading a recent bootstrap about once a month so more can stake this coin?
Someone sent me some TalkCoin a year or so ago but I'm staking 10 other coins and don't have the processing power to keep trying to get this wallet to sync.

Happy Holidays Indeed!   Cheesy

Happy New Year.

OPEN OFFER/BOUNTY 2019

1. Any dev to update code/wallets/github
amount: 1xx,xxx TALK purse
terms: 12 monthly installments to insure code is sound

2. Any dev to integrate BLOCKnet
amount: 5x,xxx TALK purse
terms: 3 monthly installments

3. Another block explorer (coinexplorers.net)?
amount: 0.1BTC
(will pay 1/3 share)

(Regular) Proof of stake

Regular proof of stake uses the same BTC blockchain code we are all familiar with. The difference being instead of proof of work like Bitcoin, in Proof of stake ( PoS ) the creator of the next block is chosen via various combinations of random selection and wealth and age (i.e., the stake) not by HASH computing power.

Simple Definition: Coins that anyone can stake with their own wallet on their own cpu.

Examples: Black, Peer, Sprouts, Pink, Pivx, HYP

Variations: POS/POW/MN/supernode hybrids

Should probably circulate this around more than this thread, if you didn't already.

There are all these schools teaching blockchain tech but I wonder if the students ever look in here for putting their knowledge into projects.  I think maybe they're just looking for corporate jobs.

1251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good NEW Staking Coins? on: December 28, 2018, 05:47:33 PM
Remaining - 2 months before the SEC decision. I think that then the sharp rise in the price of Bitcoin will begin. Bulls will come to the cryptocurrency market, and large funds, as futures will launch

You can earn BTC on old computers using staking coins and trading them at exchanges.  Sometimes these pump so it's best to set some of the sell orders very high.
1252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good NEW Staking Coins? on: December 28, 2018, 05:46:09 PM
I'm trying to avoid new-new coins. I'm usually waiting at least few month to check what devs are doing.

PundiX is my last choice. They have a real product and was giving ~7% monthly bonus during this year. It's smaller for 2019.

From the old POS coins, I like only NEO. A ETH competitor and bringing passive income.

Often you can get higher staking percentages if you get in early.  In the case of them going to an exchange, the price is usually cheaper too.

I had a power outage and now cannot connect to the network.  Does anyone have any nodes?

This is a good exercise in whether or not this coin is going to go any further.
1254  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: December 26, 2018, 03:52:37 PM
I will not invest in cryptopia before all my coins are back and all the list I gave, many coins attack like GLD and nany more. Be careful clients from this exchange.
https://coinjournal.net/cryptopia-has-over-100-markets-disabled-charging-fees-for-return/

I totally agree that people need to be careful. Be very careful when choosing to buy coins. It is not just limited to Cryptopia.

Be familiar with the risks involved with cryptocurrency:

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Home/RiskStatement

Many coins will fail. When Cryptopia delists coins due to failing to meet their listing criteria the end up failing completely.

Be very careful with investing in coins because small coin networks are often targeted by scammers and hackers.

Cryptopia tries to provide some protection by delisting coins that don't meet their minimum criteria. This however does not mean that coins that remain listed by them are completely safe from exploits.

Coins like aurumcoin where the blockchain is exploited, make false claims about being backed by gold,  the blockchain does not move for months and the developers disappear are extremely high risk and will probably fail altogether.

Disclosure: As volunteer moderator I am not staff at Cryptopia. This is personal opinion. I am not authorized to speak on behalf of Cryptopia.
Cryptopia staff do not monitor this thread as it is not an official communications channel. Low quality blockchain coin networks have caused financial losses to me.

Totally disagree,
Cryptopia decide which coins to add it's their responsibility.
Cryptopia will go bankrupt, mark my words.
This is too small exchange to compete major coins, so they add small coins and then getting rid of them, with no refund to customers.

They are not a small exchange.  They said they have 120 employees in this video:

1255  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: December 26, 2018, 02:52:01 PM
They should read this book The Go Giver.  Some people are living in fear of this exchange, some people are angry with it, and that might be one reason why the attacks are happening.  If you pay someone to host your coin, you should have a certain guarantee.   I'm sure in some cases the delisting was sincere, but in some cases I know they could have waited.  It's like this Darwinian race to keep a community/team going, and a lot of devs don't have that in them.

One thing is that it doesn't have to be a new coin to be a good staking coin.  If it's on two solid exchanges, like Coinexchange, Tradesatoshi or Cryptopia, that makes it a good coin.  But one is taking a chance with a new coin that they may one day get on a decent exchange.  I really don't like those new coins that can barely get on an obscure exchange, but even such coins can one day go somewhere.  You ultimately have to follow the team.
