2081  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BTC based Stock Exchange Crackdown Starting? on: October 10, 2013, 11:08:50 PM
If you have been reading Reddit /bitcoin you will know that a lot of big banks are closing any business that are related to Bitcoin, including exchanges.

Some of the blacklist banks: HSBC, Captial One and a lot more.

huh dont really use reddit... i only troll here at bitcointalk
2082  Economy / Marketplace / Re: If you are a US citizen you basically can go F yourself - BTCT and now Bitfunder on: October 10, 2013, 11:05:04 PM
If any of US fellows would like to continue keeping and handling his portfolio through a third party, I will do it for 1% of the stake (shares+dividends)
PM me if you are interested Smiley
Update: I asked a lawyer friend about this situation and if acting on behalf of a person and managing his/her security shares in such a context is legally OK and risk-free. He told me that he doesn't advise such undertaking since it may bring unexpected legal difficulties for both parties of such a deal. Therefore here to inform that I resign my offer.

That's interesting advice from a lawyer -- "I advise you not to do that because you may have to hire me if you do."
Dude, the lawyer is a friend, we know each other from high school, and he doesn't look at me as another target for making more money Smiley

yea well anyway... i'm glad i am a dual citizen and saw all this shit coming down a few years ago ... luckily the EU countries (I know it sounds crazy to even say this) are more friendly to financial innovation... US govt is getting too big and squashing entrepreneurial culture that made America great... revenge of the bureaucrats...
2083  Bitcoin / Legal / BTC based Stock Exchange Crackdown Starting? on: October 10, 2013, 10:42:21 PM
First there was BTCTC last month, now it is BitFunder (only stopping US business)... who is next?  Anyone have a list of the various exchanges?

News 23-09-13:  BTC-TC a leading exchange has announced that they will shut down http://thegenesisblock.com/btc-trading-corp-shutters-operations-cites-regulatory-environment/

In case you missed the news... bitfunder no longer available for US entities...

Important Notice (October 8th, 2013):

Please be advised that BitFunder is implementing the following rules and procedures:

As of October 8th, 2013, BitFunder will not accept new registrations from any United States persons or entities. All new registrants must supply the information required to obtain "Verified" status on their linked WeExchange account. BitFunder may, in its sole direction, decline to accept any new registrations.

As of October 8th, 2013, all current BitFunder users who are located in the United States or are determined to be United States persons or entities will not be able to enter into any new positions on the Bitfunder website, and, as of November 1, 2013, such users will also not be allowed to sell positions on the BitFunder website.

All current BitFunder users who are not United States persons or entities must supply the information required to obtain "Verified" status on their linked WeExchange account before November 1, 2013. Any such users who fail to provide the necessary information will not be able to enter into or sell positions on the BitFunder website as of November 1, 2013.

Users will be able to withdraw holdings and Bitcoins from their BitFunder accounts before and after November 1, 2013.

All assets and issuers must demonstrate that they meet BitFunder's requirements for the listing of assets, or the assets and issuers will, at BitFunder's sole discretion, be denied access to, or removed from, the site. BitFunder appreciates your understanding in these matters as we move forward.

Sincerely,
BitFunder
2085  Economy / Securities / Re: [Bit Funder] [btcquick] [Rising profits] on: October 10, 2013, 10:34:30 PM
btcQuick share price getting annihilated right now.

I am aware of this... We are just as surprised as you all are and hope you can understand this will take time to resolve. I will do my best to keep all of you updated.

How about giving option to shareholders (especially US citizens) to turn the shares into direct shares?
I think the low price is more or less due to the fact US shareholders can no longer hold their share via bitfunder. Turning the shares into direct shares will be able to keep US shareholders (long term investment ones)

I know that may be difficult, but If its possible, I would really like that option. I am trying to get all my coins out of BitFunder but I do not want to sell my BtcQuick shares.

If you're in the US you have until Nov. 1. So plenty of time for things to get resolved.

maybe i missed the news but is bitfunder no longer available to people in the US?
2086  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] - ADDICTION - KNCMiner - Now hashing at 4.5TH! on: October 10, 2013, 10:27:06 PM
Still trying to buy addiction shares but have no luck with bitfunder...
Anybody selling direct shares at current bitfunder price?
The time for me to get verified , to do a sepa transfer , to exchange euros to btc to get verified by weexchange, and to buy on bitfunder is probably going to take a week!
It's crazy!

you should just try to find someone in person, localbitcoins has a lot of scammers at the moment.... i'm in south sweden, but i am sure you can find others here in your local area
2087  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange [WINDING DOWN] on: October 10, 2013, 06:01:08 PM
Consider supporting our effort to enable entrepreneurs to release their own cryptography shares in new ventures which may be traded p2p!

So when exchanges get taken down you can offline your shares!

The project URL is here, would love to get your vote or ideas!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=292384.20

We have a couple developers who are on the effort, right now we are evaluating and researching what are the best options to do this expeditiously.

We'll eventually be giving out shares in the proof of concept system (open source), so sign up to get some shares as we will need user feedback and use it as a way to fund further development.  See my signature for that.
2088  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Advice for a social media compaign on: October 10, 2013, 02:09:40 PM
The Bitcoin Education Project needs some help in the social media world. We are going to build a facebook and twitter page to solicit help and donations; however, this seems like a 1.0 effort in a 2.0 world. Anyone who social media experience could chime in with some advice how to broadcast our project, its mission and goals, and the free course we are building for the mainstream?

dont know if you have anyone on your staff that speaks swedish (the videos are in swedish) but this guy knows what he is talking about, although it is primarily for crowdfunding his knowledge base should be applicable to your project

2089  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: tools for collaborative writing? on: October 10, 2013, 01:55:35 PM
GitHub?

thanks! I forgot that github had their pages feature, i'll check it out

it might be easier to keep it on google drive while this is still in its infancy, then transition over if warranted
2090  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: tools for collaborative writing? on: October 09, 2013, 08:51:24 PM
Google Docs/Drive actually has a really good collaborative writing system. You can edit together in real time, chat and comment.

i think we are gonna go with that, thanks
2091  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: stock coins? p2p virtual stock equity / cryptostocks on: October 09, 2013, 10:49:01 AM

Any solution should be builtin to the blockchain itself. It wouldn't be hard to set up an altcoin called stockcoin, use Colored coin or Mastercoin and run that. Hops is one way of doing it, Mastercoin is another, Bitshares is another, Freimarket is another.

What is needed is a kickstarter and bounty system of some sort to get it built.

ok thanks Luckybit.

just for everyone's reference, these are the documents relating to Hops (very early stage)

https://anonfiles.com/file/14d9ed0ebc60f2fc30bc596c49e7b61f

---
Looks like I will need to create some kind of feature/etc matrix for all of these.

So far the candidates appear to be:

Altcoin/bitcoin clone
Colored coin / bitcoinx
Mastercoin
Bitshares (not exactly an option since it is not FOSS but worth knowing the feature set)
Ripple (something similar to DYM https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149533.0)
Freimarket
OT

anyone want to throw in anything else?
2092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing Ripple Currency: DYM on: October 09, 2013, 10:47:45 AM
this is a very cool idea.

can you explain how the implementation is done? are DYM's only traded within the ripple network or can one take them offline?  did you need to implement the gateway for this?

I am not exactly sure what you are looking for but I may be able to help you given my experience in technology business development and sales.
2094  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: stock coins? p2p virtual stock & debt equity / cryptostocks on: October 08, 2013, 10:51:10 PM
just a quick update

so i started this thread to give away "shares" in a proof of concept, whenever you all on the tech side have something working that can be tested.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=307417.msg3295590#msg3295590

go add a comment so you all can be on the list

my main purpose is to build you a userbase, and also use it as a promotional tool so that perhaps we can attract more developers to the effort.  the guys at ripple/opencoin did something similar and i think it appeared to work well for them.

if things go well at some point i envision working with the exchanges or the bitcoin crowd funding folks to raise some money so you all can get financial support.

i'm thinking it would be cool to have a system that uses data from sourceforge (ohloh.com) or github to compensate people based on code lines, check ins, etc...but that's way down the line and I have no clue how that would even work...
2095  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Fair Use Of Images Of Josh Zerlan on: October 08, 2013, 10:39:08 PM
Damn son, all those goddamn laws and rules and other fan-fucking-tastic rules on this world are just not countable anymore.

Yeah, sucks, dunnit?

That is the way it is though.

My $.02.

you practically need a law degree these days if you want to do anything beyond flipping burgers...

I have added a voice of customer survey i am working on for this

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1MIIQCdFV_TutvsL3UqIUHVOrjdrEWlK9vI_XgTZcQmM/edit

feel free to add others or post them to this forum first

first two questions are:

QUESTION 1

Identify your involvement in the use of digital stock or debt equity: *
have traded stock or debt equity (i.e., perpetual mining bonds)
have used an online exchange to trade
have used a message board, email or chat to trade
have issued stock or debt equity as a company owner
have participated in the issue of stock or debt equity as an intermediary (you run an exchange or pass through, not a company representative)
 None of the above

QUESTION 2

Rate how important is having physical possession of a financial instrument? *
For example, with bitcoins a person can hold them "physically" in a private key print out or on their own computing device (USB stick etc).

*pisses on prophetx* did i do that correctly?

i wasnt looking for a golden shower... but yes that will do ... lmao

2099  Economy / Securities / Make your mark : CryptoEquity shares on: October 07, 2013, 09:23:50 PM
make your mark here after you have voted, and you will get some crypotequity in our proof of concept which is an open source effort.

If you are interested in the project read about it here, and VOTE:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=292384.20

Awarded number of cryptoequity shares will be dependent on your post position, therefore the earlier you post the higher your allocation!

Note that this is a proof of concept in its early stages of development so the goal is to build a base of shareholders who can test the system and provide feedback.

If successful and warranted at some point more shares will be created and auctioned via exchanges or bitcoin crowd funding sites to fund further development effort.

sorry for the delay but i have an initial document for this effort located here.'

i have tried to separate out different efforts so that people from different backgrounds (technical/development, business/marketing, regulatory/legal) can contribute.

the doc should be free to edit
