2561  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Group Buy : ASICMiner Block Erupter USB (European Union ) on: May 30, 2013, 10:38:37 AM
I'd like to propose the following as a cost structure:

it would be 1.99 + VAT (escrow) + shipping + escrow costs;

+ 5-10% for my time (depending on total quality 10% for first 50, 5% for 51st and later units)

+ shipping cost to you;

the VAT amount would get refunded or partial refund depending on what amount actually gets charged at the border; as you know many people in the EU are charging full VAT however I have read about instances where the VAT is not charged or a different amount is charged, and therefor I propose that it is better that the estimated VAT is held in escrow until it actually has to be paid.
2562  Local / Polski / Re: Polski! on: May 30, 2013, 10:35:19 AM
Looks great, congrats. Some questions:
- 500mA is 100W, correct? or I'm wrong? I will have to look this up, I'm just trying to faciliatate a group purchase
- 336MH/s if I good understood? that is what the documentation claims
- what is the price? 1.99 at 50 orders? and the time?

it would be 1.99 + VAT (escrow) + shipping + escrow costs; + 5-10% for my time + shipping cost to you;  the VAT amount would get refunded or partial refund depending on what amount actually gets charged at the border;

time is dependent on when the order is placed, and it appears from other group buys that it takes about 2-3 weeks to receive from China

best
d.

p.s.
chyba ze ktos z was juz to gdzies widzial bo nie doszukalem sie?

there are also some other group buys forming in UK and Germany as well which ma be closer to actually making a purchase.

also, another issue with the price of this piece is that with VAT it would take a long time (perhaps 1+ yrs or more) for it to have a positive ROI.  Something to think about.
2563  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter USB Sales on: May 30, 2013, 09:19:20 AM
Why are these items selling for BTC1.99 at bulk rates?  It does not make sense as they barely will break even after what maybe 1 yr at best??  If I buy 1000 usb sticks from china I expect to pay 50% less than if I order 100.

What's up with the economics here?

Especially for EU we have to deal with about 20 to 25% tax on top of that.

Next time you guys need to clutter a thread with your arguing about the status of a thread can  you please start a seperate thread, and not clutter it with pissing on each other... when most of us don't care about these side arguments....

Thanks in advance   Wink

I don't fully understand how Coinbase operates, how exactly are they not a money transmitter, you send them money and have bitcoins sent to you. Are they simply having Mtgox send the bitcoins?

Because bitcoin isn't "money", and buying and selling stuff isn't a money transmitter.

according to the US govt it's convertible virtual currency.  but regardless bitcoin is a store of value, and that's what these state regulations cover. furthermore, one can trade and transmit this value, and then later retrieve it.

they are hiring someone with AML experience... https://coinbase.com/jobs

i have an interesting call with a big state regulator on this matter next week, in particular whether anyone operating a ripple gateway falls under these regulations as well

If you could share the specifics of your call with the state regulator, I think there are a lot of folks here who would be interested to hear about it...

I will try to do that next week.  Have a paper I need to finish for the end of the semester and have to prioritize....

2567  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: USA Subsection Needed? (POLL) on: May 30, 2013, 01:13:20 AM
I dont get it... so its illegal for a private citizen to give a loan to a business?

Lmao I have NEVER heard of anyone getting caught for that.

2569  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Group Buy : ASICMiner Block Erupter USB (Baltic Region / Northern Europe) on: May 29, 2013, 02:59:21 PM
Why would you not ship to the whole EU? I thought shipping costs from Sweden where the same within the whole union.

I think you are right I guess it doesn't make a difference, I can change that.
2570  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter USB Sales on: May 28, 2013, 07:53:14 PM
Does anyone know what the deal would be with import taxes and/or VAT for this stuff coming into the EU?  Specifically either Poland or Sweden?
2571  Bitcoin / Group buys / Group Buy : ASICMiner Block Erupter USB (European Union ) on: May 28, 2013, 07:48:39 PM
The minimum order is 50 of these at BTC1.99 each.

Anyone interested?  If 10 people say yes, I can put together a thread for the terms of the order, etc.

I'm located in Sweden (Karlskrona) and would ship to any other EU country.

Heat reduction: 560mA (emerald) -> 500-510mA (sapphire).

Stability: We stressed it with 9 Block Erupter USBs in a row without heatsinks heating up each other in a very dense USB hub with 25C without active airflow. No unexpected (non-probabilistic) HW errors ever happen.

Speed: This comes after better stability. Now the hashrate converges to its theoretical value of 336MH/s.

Appearance:
  Manual assembly (emerald) -> SMT machine assembly (sapphire)
  Standard heat-sink (emerald) -> heat-sink front-case 2-in-1 logo-ed (sapphire).
  LED added.

Four types of front-case:

The assembly service we offer is including:
1. Prouction of PCB
2. Delivery of all the components excluding of ASIC chip
3. Asic chip delivered by you to us
4. Full smt assembly of the board.
5. Firmware upload and setup on the board
6. Test

In order to receive assembled board you'll have to send us your chips

Aditionaly you cаn order with us custom heat sink, suitable fan and even full assembled in an enclousure miner with 4-8 boards

great thanks!

And the cost for steps 1 - 6 (excluding cost of chip and delivery of chip to you) is between 46 to 55 Euros?  Or is that just for 1 and 2?

2576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Litecoin Core Development Fundraising on: May 28, 2013, 04:20:48 PM
I will donate about 12 LTC when I get home tomorrow minus the 3+ ltc tx fee from all of my p2pool mining dust this month

I hope at some point something is worked out to help with wallet dust consolidation in the coming releases

https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,3000.0.html
Read this thread to learn how to combine your dust into larger coins with zero fee.  I don't recommend the "Dust Settler" that the guy is trying to sell in that thread as it is new and nobody audited it.

You may also want to wait until the new lower fee kicks in, which might be in a few weeks.  I will post soon the fee transition plan.

Yea I read through that thread a couple days ago, doesn't work for me.

Anyway donated 8.7 ltc + 3.2 ltc in tx fees  Grin

hope this gets addressed for the sake of p2pool

2578  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Pools with fee's vs p2pool... on: May 26, 2013, 08:16:28 PM
The issue with p2pools for small miners is the tx costs for all the dust you get each hour

Neotrix you might want to have someone QA the site on an android tablet, the UI appears not to fully show up

Really, how hard would it be for the machine to take an account number linked to verified info for large withdrawals or deposits?

Sometime I wonder how people are incapable of reading regulations ... this isnt rocket science!
