862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: portfolio ethereum and ? on: November 25, 2017, 04:50:33 PM
Hello,

I bought ethereum since May and June 2017.Got in @120€ and 275€ and my capital has doubled since. I'm really long on ethereum but i was thinking about sell a little bit to diversify my portfolio because for now i'm all in ethereum or sell everything to buy the next dip but i am not sure it will worth it or switch to bitcoin.

What are your thoughts on that ?

I also bought ethereum in may and was holding it and still holding it. I would suggest not to sell ethereum rather trade with ethereun as many exchanges provides you the opportunity to trade with ethereum.
If you have bitcoin then you can buy some other fundamentally strong coins like STRATIS, LITECOIN .
863  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex trading news update on: November 25, 2017, 04:13:23 PM
yes, i received that email too and I think these changes are taken for our own good. the market manipulation by pump and dump groups are increased these days and mostly the pump initiators benefit from those pumps and newbie traders lose their money in search of fast money. so these steps will help to mitigate pump and dumps perhaps.
864  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ends a year at $10 000 on: November 25, 2017, 02:05:53 PM
Today Galaxy Investment Partners Founder Mike Novogratz said to Bloomberg: "Bitcoin is like gold, it has value because people say it has value".
He believes bitcoin ends a year at $10 000! Can you believe this?!

I saw the video and I do feel it can reach that high but I don't think his answer was very good about the "30 million hack". People who don't understand might think it is somehow related to bitcoin. The only reason there was a price movement because of the tether hack is because of a perception that it contributes to the value of bitcoin (which may be deemed false by current market sentiment). Also, Tether isn't a "trustless" cryptocurrency. You might as well be talking about dollars
865  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's make Bitcoin's Price Higher on: November 25, 2017, 01:10:55 PM
I just wonder, where bitcoin depends its value/price.

Don't we have the power to make its value higher?

If we have, what can we do to make bitcoin's price become higher?

Let's talk about it here. Maybe we can help each other to achieve what we want in bitcoins.

Demand and supply are what leads to price rise and price drop. If we want to see bitcoin price more higher from the current position then there has to be more and more demand for it, as the demand will increase and new people will buy bitcoin the price will rise provided the other people having bitcoins keeps hodling it.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Casino You've ACTUALLY WON? on: November 25, 2017, 10:27:30 AM
Someone post their experiences with casinos please, I'm a very hesitant when it comes to gambling yet alone ONLINE gambling but if I hear that some of these casinos actually pay out I might give it a try...

Payout? yes, of course, they do payout(online casinos) casinos are not scam site normally provided you choose wisely where to gamble.
I have been gambling on some online websites dice sites if you manage to win the amount they do let you cash out for sure. you can try luckygames.io they have a variety of coins to play with too.
867  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much capital to you day trade with? on: November 24, 2017, 05:09:13 PM
What sum of money do YOU day trade with? and how much profit do you expect to earn?

It would be interesting to know how much gains (if any), different traders make on a daily or weekly basis and what sort of capital they invest to try and profit.

Looking at many of of the exchanges, you see many alt coins going up by two digit gains so I would assume capital investment of between £1/5k on some of the ascending coins would bring back a decent return?

I personally do more of a buy and hold trading I buy fundamentally strong coins and hold them from 6months to 1 year period. other than that I once in a while do day trading with 20% of my portfolio.
yes, every day some coins do rise by double figures but it is still very difficult to day trade it is not easy as it looks.
868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin the most popular cryptocurrency? on: November 24, 2017, 03:33:12 PM
I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?

bitcoin being the first does matter more than most people realize...It has proven itself for YEARS. It is secure and robust. why would I keep the majority of my crypto wealth in any other crypto that is not secure and robust like bitcoin? all altcoins are "guilty until proven innocent" and it will take years before people start trusting the security and stability of another blockchain more than the bitcoin blockchain. not 1 year, but multiple years.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth to pay $8200 for 1 BTC if you are a newbie? on: November 24, 2017, 03:16:23 PM
Is bitcoin still a good investment for newbies? Is it worth to pay almost $8200 for 1 BTC today?

Bitcoin is something which when you look to invest in it first time you will feel I am paying too much for it, but as the time goes on it keeps increasing and then you look back and say to yourself why did not you buy more back then.
coming back to the point is it worth paying 8200$ for bitcoin. well, this answer depends on you your financial capability and do you believe in bitcoin. if you believe in bitcoin then 8200$ should not be a problem for you to grab some BTC provided you are looking for long-term investment, because there is going be a lot of volatility in the price in future as it was in past.

871  Economy / Economics / Re: investment mode of btc is best or currency mode??? on: November 24, 2017, 09:09:06 AM
A trend has been started that bitcoin is now used only for raising income by buying and selling it but we are ignoring its most important fact that it was created to be used as currency and if it can be used as the currency it would really help community to enjoy its eases and regions who are accepting btc must have to start it as currency this will automatically boost user no's as well a prices,

Bitcoin was certainly made to be used a currency and maybe in future, it would be used as a currency. but at the moment it is mostly used for raising income or investing tool.
for bitcoin to be used as a currency we have to go a long way and solve the scalability issues which bitcoin has currently and global adoption is of course required. In the coming years when we solve this issues by bringing lightning network etc we might see bitcoin being accepted as a regular payment means.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Power Ledger Speculation on: November 24, 2017, 07:42:39 AM
Im guessing all the senior members, like usual, are scared of the new alt coin, so they have "carefully" concluded that it's going to crash immediately, and then all the new members think it's gonna go to the moon right?

It has gained exponentially during past week and it is justifiable as it is a strong project with a working product and a lot more developments to come.
but I do feel it is due for some correction and in the long term it will definitely cross 1$ and may reach 5-10$ in the coming years 2018.
873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Wish I never bought altcoins on: November 23, 2017, 04:29:35 PM
Would have been much better off just leaving everything in bitcoin. Altcoins suck.

I am in the same situation as you are. I started cryptocurrency trading in June when everything was green bitcoin was going up altcoins were going up too. so I made many buys back then which were at their ATH's and now they are very much lower comparing to their satoshis value especially. if only I had kept my bitcoin intact I would have made way more gains.
But that is the experience at the end of the day which you get from being in such situations.

876  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reasons Why Bitcoin Price Drops on: November 23, 2017, 02:11:38 PM
I would like to know your opinion on what factors cause the value of Bitcoin to drop. A brief explanation helps.

The overall market behaviour is generally a combination of various factors. For example:
Fundamentals
Technicals
Events

In the specific case of BTC, fundamentals are driving the price up, that's why we're all hodling. Events do play a role, say when Bitfinex got hacked there was a sharp correction, which didn't last long.
And finally technicals... these drive a lot of the short-term speculation. A lot, not all. But technicals are ONLY about the candlestick movements, which is why they are often dismissed as tea leaves reading.
On this occasion, however, the market is telling us that technicals are strongly at play.

878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Continue my losing streak on: November 23, 2017, 12:05:41 PM
I just have 572 red streak (100x payout) in dice game  Angry
Not a single green. Still keep the same server and client seed because I
will still continue if I has enough bitcoin.
Well maybe if there any big whale or investor who want to continue my bet,
we can talk about terms, conditions and profit sharing  Smiley

Feel free to PM me or ignoring me

Thanks in advance

I do gambling especially on dice quite often and while I am writing this my auto bet is still running.Grin. the idea you are thinking about is very risky with 100x payout because i have seen 1500+ reds losing streak on 100x payout so anything is possible. if the payout was different like 2.4x 2x then you can think about doing stuff like this.
879  Economy / Economics / Re: why is it so hard to buy bitcoin on: November 23, 2017, 10:12:09 AM
I have not really bought any bitcoin in a while, i have been mostly trading this last year.  but i have been trying to buy today from localbitcoins and bittylicious and it has been a real challenge.  they want photos of me holding cards on localbitcoins and on bitty they need about 4 different forms of id, what is going on.

this is seriously restrictive to anyone wanting to get into bitcoin,  like its meant to be pseudonymous but if the gate ways into bitcoin dont allow that people will be put off.    Huh

Over here in my country, they ask for photo id proof address proof and identity proof to buy bitcoin, and i don't find any problem in that just give the necessary details to them and buy bitcoin.
I have not tried local bitcoin but I have heard they don't require id proof.
880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference between LTC and BTC? on: November 23, 2017, 06:07:18 AM
I'm taking about Innova coin - it's mentioned as INN/BTC and INN/LTC
can someone explain the above LTC and BTC?

The thing you are talking about is trading pairs INN/BTC is INN trading with BTC  and INN/LTC is trading with LTC.
a little explanation on both :
Litecoin is a fork (clone) of Bitcoin which is currently faster and cheaper to use, apart from that there are that many differences between the two, they both have SegWit activated but Litecoin also has Lightning network support, something which Bitcoin does not currently have.

The Lightning Network allows instant transactions to take place which will be a game changer for the cryptocurrency.
