1381  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Which Newspaper is the best Punjabi newspaper in India ? on: May 09, 2019, 05:17:23 PM
I live in Punjab but I am not Punjabi. During my childhood, me and my parents used to live in a rented house. My landlord was Sikh and he used to read Ajit newspaper. It was my first encounter with Punjabi language since it wasn't taught in my school till Class 2nd. I learnt to read Punjabi first time from my landlord and that too from a newspaper so yes Ajit Newspaper has some sentimental value for me. Since then I am avid reader of Ajit Newspaper and it is undoubtedly the best Punjabi newspaper.
1382  Local / India / Re: Best indian Peer to Peer or Fiat Exchange on: May 09, 2019, 04:01:27 PM
Hi could somebody recommend indian Fiat exchange apart form Koinex and Wazirx . As koinex is down from last two days i need some fiat conversion could somebody help me with genuine exchanges. Please dont spam here

I primarily use two P2P Platforms to convert Bitcoin in INR. One is WazirX and the other is Remitano. Since you looking for the one which doesn't require KYC, you can try Remitano. The site is not Indian but have Indian section just like LocalBitcoins, however country of exchange doesn't matter in P2P trade. Remitano doesn't require KYC to do trade. It is only required when you open dispute, else it's optional. Also the volume on Remitano is quite gross at fair prices and your orders will easily get filled.
I am using it for quite a long now, here's my profile, you can check the volume of coins I exchanged on Remitano: https://remitano.com/btc/in/profile/webtricks

PS: I am in no way connected to Remitano, it's just an honest user review.
1383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now that bitcoin has crossed $6100, what are your thoughts? on: May 09, 2019, 03:30:02 PM
I will like to said that the pattern of the prices'movement in 2017 is repeating itself again and this year is seems to be another bullish year.  As a traders and cryptocurrencies enthusiast,  what are your thoughts about the current happening in bitcoin pricing and other cryptocurrencies?

One month is too short period to declare that we are back in bullish run. Single rally to $6000+ doesn't ensure that Bitcoin will keep moving forward only. In trend analysis, we have to analyze the movements of chart for a considerable period of time, say, atleast 2 months. If Bitcoin continues to show same movements and reach $8-9K by late June then I can ensure you that we are back in the 2017 bull! For now let's hope nothing adverse happen and market continue to grow more.
1384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: May 09, 2019, 10:12:40 AM
There is something about these last games that I find hard to believe, yes am talking about the road to the UEFA finals Huh

I know it's the champions league but how do you get two almost impossible results overturned like that....betting syndicates, determination, well can not figure this one out.

This is not the first time people questioning Champions League. Back in 2008-09 season, people alleged that UEFA desirably kicked out Chelsea in Semis because authorities didn't want another English Final. The Semi-Final between Barcelona and Chelsea is still considered as one of the most controversial game ever played where referee made 4-5 blunder decisions and Barcelona advanced with 1-0 score.
But this year refereeing wasn't questionable, thanks to VAR. However, I still feel players under-performed horribly especially Barca players. The mistakes of Jordi Alba are not something you see that often, he alone cost three goals to Barca. Yet, it is too naive to question players of such stature.

1386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game of Thrones - Who will rule? Odds and betting discussion [Odds updated!] on: May 08, 2019, 07:10:39 PM
0 out of 10 I reckon this episode was a 6 in the beginning and it became a 20 in the ending! Daenarys might die before Cersei hehehe. She has become very vulnerable after the death of?
IMO Game of Thrones been a huge disappointment this season. The story didn't go as people thought it will. Especially the third episode was pretty abject. I am not finding this season engaging at all. Moreover, second episode leaked even before official premier making the situation worse.
I was very excited to play Game of Thrones odds before the start of season but now I am least interested in knowing who sits on Iron Throne at all.
1387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Now FREE to JOIN] IPL 2019 Prediction Pool and discussion on: May 08, 2019, 06:16:00 PM

DC vs MI final

It was nice script, quite a thriller match. both team had their chances to win a game in during second inning of the game.

Good inning from Prithvi and Pant and they played beautiful tonight, having said that Pant showed once again that why he's not in the World cup squad. throwing away wicket on crucial timing. it was so easy 5 runs in 7 balls and he went for glory shot. he need to finish the game for his team, there was no need to go for aerial shot.

Good for DC that tailenders successed this time.

I don't think shot selection by Pant was wrong at all. He took risk against Bhuvi earlier that over and played same shot and got 6. So he tried the same shot again but his hands didn't go well with bat and missed the timing. Now imagine if he played defensively then and didn't go for sixes, DC had to make 12 of 12. With Keemo Paul on the other side who was hardly able to touch the ball at all, do you think DC could win this one with singles?
It was only due to Pant's six in 19th over that DC was able to complete the match with tailenders. He is masterclass and there is nothing wrong with his attacking game when he is playing in T-20s. Well, he do need some maturity for playing ODIs.
1388  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-08] Binance Confirms 7000BTC ($40m) Security Breach on: May 08, 2019, 04:40:05 PM
all of the articles repeat the same report from binance---that the hackers used "several techniques over a long period of time" such as "phishing, viruses and other attacks". combined with CZ's comments that the attack was coordinated across "multiple seemingly independent accounts" at once, it sounds like the attackers compromised accounts on the client side and quietly waited to execute an attack across many accounts at once.

thank goodness for the safu fund.....

And what if these well-orchestrated actions actually coming from within the team or from Binance as a whole? Whom can we trust in the internet-space after all! Or it may be a marketing strategy, I have seen more aggressive marketing tactics than this. I won't be surprised if CZ comes back on Twitter tomorrow and announce this all was just a part of promotion of Binance's SAFU fund service!

Now is a good time for him to tell us to use his DEX.
DEX? You mean the type of exchange where bots run the game? The moment you put sell order, bot puts one with fraction less price. All you can do is sell at Buy Price and cry because creating own order which really gets filled is a dream on DEX!
1389  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Financial value of KYC verification on: May 08, 2019, 04:00:57 PM
Hello, I would like to ask:
1. For how many dollars could you give someone KYC verification?

2. Do you know what value our KYC has for companies (such as Coinbase), why do they pay for it? They sell them to someone?

Thanks

I don't think reputed companies like Coinbase UK, Ltd. are engaged in illegal activity of selling users' KYC data. All such companies maintain 'Privacy Policy' statement and breach of such statement can land them in big danger.
There is a trend going among crypto-based sites recently, they are paying users some amount as a token of appreciation for KYC Verification, for example, Blockchain.com is paying $25 in Stellar (XLM) for KYC. I think such giveaway is having negative impact on their reputation. People are believing that such websites are buying KYC data like you mentioned. But the reality is law requires them to do so. All such websites should adopt the Bittrex policy. Bittrex straight away limited the account of users who didn't done KYC and had no reward policy for KYC Verification.
1390  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who is trading on P2P wallet exchanges? on: May 08, 2019, 11:27:37 AM
Some of you might know there are a growing number of wallets with in-built person to person exchanges. Whether it be  Pint or Mycelium, these marketplaces are a little slower than a regular p2p market like localbitcoins, bitkan or Paxful.
One thing is for sure, with even Binance getting hacked, it seems nothing is safe enough to trust 100% anymore. Would wallet linked semi decentralized p2p exchanges be the future? or just another failed experiment?

Even on P2P Exchange Platforms, one has to deposit funds before selling it. Whenever one sends funds to the address whose private keys lie with 3rd party, there's always risk to getting scammed. However, we may argue that in case of wallet based exchanging platform, authority of funds remain with individuals upto the moment of selling coins so there may be reduced chance of hacking but the moment seller enters into trade and send funds to P2P address, he is open to many vulnerabilities.
Yet I would consider that to be a better option than leaving funds in the accounts of centralized exchanges.
1391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Market competition leads to better products for consumers' -Roger Ver on: May 08, 2019, 10:50:02 AM

'Market Competition leads to better products for consumers' : This may sounds true for commodity market but in crypto space, it is big no! Market competition here leads to creation of lots of shitcoins and more importantly spending funds on projects having no vision. In crypto space, those projects having better and aggressive marketing have more chances of getting successful than projects having visionary products. For example, projects like Remme which actually developing something useful are getting less fame than projects like TRON which are entirely based on promotion.

Saw this on twitter this morning from Roger Ver and I can't help but agree. Also interesting that he called out the Elixxir project in terms of competition. Does he mean against BTC?
https://twitter.com/rogerkver/status/1125753143625523200

Roger Ver, well he is interesting personality. To be honest, he was never the core supporter of Bitcoin. He is simply an opportunistic person. The moment he found out that Bitcoin could be forked, he became supporter of Bitcoin Cash. Now since BCH has lost its hype, he is supporting some other coin. All angel-investors are same, they never stay with one project, Roger is no difference.
1392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardcap ICO is no guarantee that the project will succeed on: May 07, 2019, 09:59:39 AM
ICO is not a guarantee that the project will be successful, because most ICO projects are still limited to concepts and do not have clear references,
but projects that don't make ICO or premine are usually serious and good projects.
and I also agree on this, what about your opinion?

Look, there are two things: project and the coin. Mostly people presume that the success of one results in the success of the other but that's not always true. I have seen projects raising hundred of millions in ICO but failing to execute their product/service (e.g. Envion). Whereas there are projects which have furnished a superb product/service but the value of their coin in market is very-very low (e.g. IndaHash).
So ICO is surely not the right parameter to measure the success, there are coins with no ICO being very successful. However, you can't say all projects with no ICO are serious. Most of the Airdrop coins are worthless.
1393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: May 06, 2019, 03:41:37 PM
Klopp has confirmed that Salah won't play tomorrow against Barcelona.
I read news about missing players for Liverpool including Salah which makes things even worse for LFC... Tomorrow game will be very hard, i cannot imagine them winning unless Barcelona playing with substitute players..

Liverpool did a huge mistake by playing their talisman on weekend when they are about to play against World's best side with 3 goals deficit. Origi came as a substitute and scored a goal. He could have started instead of Salah and Liverpool can still win the match. On the other hand, Barcelona rested all 11 players in the league match that played against Liverpool last week. With 11 pairs of fresh legs, Barca is ready for another Red slaughter. Cheesy This shows the difference between two sides.

Leave the remontada , it is now hard for Liverpool to even win the second leg. My favorites are Barcelona!

1395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another uptrend has shaped up trying to break $5600 again on: May 06, 2019, 09:52:02 AM
UPDATE:
the uptrend seems to still have a strong buy support behind it and the general market attitude seems to want the price to go upwards but that is not the only force, another force against this has shaped up that is keeping the breakout from happening and it is still because of a couple of FUDs about bitcoin including the bitfinex one and also a new one about China.
the result in my opinion is only postponing the breakout for a little while. we may see the rise by next week.

Yeah. The demand is once again hitting the all time high. On 4th April we reached the 24h volume of $21m which is highest daily volume since Jan 6, 2018. If we compare the present demand and price, price is surely undervalued which means it is going to be in upward trends in coming days. All market needs is a push of $100-150. If general market mechanism can push the price up by hundred dollars or so then it will surely provoke new buyers to enter the market and we can easily see a surge of $600-700 in market.
1396  Economy / Economics / Re: IMF and World Bank explore crypto merits with blockchain project on: May 06, 2019, 07:28:09 AM
IMF and World Bank, though the reputed organisations hardly have much control on big economies of the World. Both Britten Woods Twins are more of the guiding authority than controlling authorities. They can control only poor economies such as African countries and other 3rd tier countries because such countries are dependent on the donations of these organisations. But if we talk about USA, European Countries, China, Japan, India and other big economies which actually comprise 90% of the crypto users, IMF & WB have no control on these economies, such countries work autonomously and usually ignore the recommendations of UN organisations.
So I don't think UN initiatives will help much unless all big economies have positive outlook towards cryptocurrencies.
1397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2018-2019 on: May 03, 2019, 06:13:47 PM

In CL season 2017/2018 Quarter-finals, Barcelona wins against Roma 4:1 in the first leg, but in 2nd lag in Italy, Roma wins 3:0 and go to semifinals. I think Liverpool is a much stronger team than Roma, and they have a chance. Not significant but there are. This year we saw it many surprising results, why not one more from Liverpool.

But you are missing one important point. Roma had an essential away goal but Liverpool departed Spain with no away goal advantage. Even if Liverpool scores 3 goals in upcoming leg, match will forward to extra-time and penalty eventually. I don't think Liverpool have that much strong attack to score 4 goals against the duo of Pique and Lenglet and especially Ter Stegen (this guy is beast). Moreover, except Van Dijk, Liverpool defence looks quite hollow. If they play too much of attacking football, I think Barcelona can easily counter-attack with the combo of Messi and Dembele (he has to start in second leg).
Also if we compare Roma of last year and present Liverpool, they both had same goalkeeper. Defensively both look exact similar. Current Liverpool is not too better than last year Roma so this factor won't effect Barca I guess.
1398  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to recover when you are down 90% of your portfolio? on: May 03, 2019, 05:26:35 PM
Hey guys, my friends and I were down 90% of our crypto portfolio. We bought at the highs and we bought shitcoins. Now we are still down significantly and i just want to ask if you guys have strategy to recover from this? Cheers!

Bitcoin fell 85% (from $20K to $3K), Ethereum went down by 90%. But see here we are, still believing in cryptocurrencies and surviving. If it was any other class of security, say stock or asset, I would straight away tell you to sell for whatever you can recover but cryptocurrencies are different. They are more volatile, low capped and have potential to recover even 99% of fall. However, not all coins are same, you yourself mentioned that you bought shitcoins. On what premises are you declaring them shitcoins? Low volume, no update, no news? If you think they are now stagnant and cannot turn green at all then sell them right away don't wait more. But if they are high volume coins and are currently down (like WAVES) then it's better to wait and hold. When general bullish trend comes, every high capped cryptocurrency blossoms!
1399  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-03] New all time high for bitcoin in 2019! on: May 03, 2019, 04:26:04 PM
I'm not convinced we are out of the bear market yet, and a rise of almost 10% in 24 hours is not sustainable. I think a drop back down to around $5,300 is just as likely as a break above $6,000.

Why do you think it is not-sustainable? Bitcoin has survived 30% rise last month without much correction. It went to $5000 from $3800 and get corrected to $4800 and then again took a leap to $5200. So if it can survive 30% jump, 10% surge of today is not a big deal. I agree it is very much possible that it could go in either direction from here but I can sense positive vibe in market. I just checked depth on Binance and there are much more buy orders than sell orders to sustain the price of $5700.  Believe it or not, market is surely recovering from bearish phase.
1400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much money you use for gambling? Crypto gambling market profiling survey! on: May 03, 2019, 03:39:39 PM

Webtricks, this really huge amount for many people on their weekly spending itself. I want to know one thing, are you really making money out such big fund on weekly basis. I do not think that it is possible to put such every week for gambling purpose alone.

Frankly speaking I don't make much out of gambling. If I take the net (winning amounts less lost amount) of last 3 months then I am in profit of just $40-50. I reuse the betting amount every week. For example, I bet $150 a week and placed equal bets of $15 on 10 La Liga matches. Let's say I won 6 of them and lost 4. In 6 of the fixture let say I won $75 on $90. So net of the week will be: $150 - $90 + $75 - $60 = $165. Hence, I made $15 profit for the week. Most of the weeks story remains the same. I take calculative risks and hardly able to make or bare 10-20% profit or loss. This way I reuse the $150 next week again. So the betting amount may seem big but I don't use fresh funds every week.

@OP sorry for little off-thread discussion, hope you don't mind.  Wink
