1081  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: November 30, 2019, 04:07:04 PM

As far as illegality of cryptocurrencies is concerned, that doesn't mean illegal income should be left outside the purview of taxation. In my country (India), law states that all type of incomes are taxable, no matter legal or illegal. I personally think this is fair. On the contrary, illegal income should bear higher tax in my opinion.

But how do they know it came from illegal activity? And how will you able to pay taxes for it when in the first place they can't handle it?

I don't know if it is already applied to every country but I've read about how bitcoin is taxed, it goes like this, Once you hold long-term with bitcoin and gain from it you are required to pay for tax, and the percentage of what you need to pay from your gains will vary depending on your civil status. Does anyone know about it?

Cryptocurrency itself is not taxable. As you said government can't fully control or ascertain cryptocurrenices hold by individuals, so it can't tax the cryptocurrencies. I may have $500K lying on my Eth Address but who gonna know it belongs to me.
So the only way which government gonna tax your crypto income is when you convert the same to fiat money and withdraw it to bank. Only this way government gonna know you made money. It can be your earned income (can be said freelancing income if you earned via activities like signature campaigns, etc), long-term or short-term gain (if you first bought cryptocurrencies from your bank and now withdrawing relatively larger amount to bank) or business income (if you doing crypto-related business and making profits). More specific treatment differs from country to country basis.

Is it real! Newcastle beat Man City! Most valuable side of the world, most expenditure in buying new players in last 5 years, most expensive manager and beaten by whom? Some 34th most valuable club of the world! Are we going to see 'Sack Pep' or '#GuardiolaOut' slogans all over the internet in few days? That would be quite a site, lol. Well, I think we all should also retire along with Pep. No one predicted draw or Newcastle's win. Everyone dropped points in first match of the weekend.

Haha, I went for a shit & heard it from the living room. If LFC win today it’s game over for City.

Don't know why but I still believe LFC cannot win Premier League and will choke in the second half of league. I have a gut feeling, Leicester City will win trophy once again this year.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: November 30, 2019, 08:26:10 AM

so far there only 8 teams has been qualified ,

Barcelona
Manchester city
Bayern munic
RB Leipzig
Juventus
Real madrid
PSG
and Tottenham hotspurs

And it is well deserved.
To be honest I am a bit surprised to see RB Leipzig in this group of teams.
It is good to see this

RB Leipzig is doing awesome this season. It is currently third in Bundesliga (above Dortmund and Bayern  Shocked) and just 1 point shy of top positioned - Mönchengladbach. But we can't deny the fact that Leipzig got very easy group. With Zenit, Lyon and Benfica on its side, I wasn't amazed that RB Leipzig made it to Round of 16. However, there is a chance that RB Leipzig still doesn't qualify for next round if Lyon beats it in next match and Zenit wins its match. Group G is the closest group in terms of stats.
Now suppose if both Lyon and Zenit wins next match with 1-0 scoreline then table will look like this:

RB Leipzig : Wins: 3    Losses: 2    Draws: 1    Goals Scored: 8    Goals Against: 7    Goal Difference: 1    Points: 10
Zenit :        Wins: 3    Losses: 2    Draws: 1    Goals Scored: 8    Goals Against: 7    Goal Difference: 1    Points: 10
Lyon :         Wins: 3    Losses: 2    Draws: 1    Goals Scored: 8    Goals Against: 7    Goal Difference: 1    Points: 10

I wonder who will qualify in this situation.  Shocked Huh
1084  Local / Press & News from India / Re: Binance acquires Wazirx to offer Fiat to Crypto Gateway on: November 30, 2019, 07:09:50 AM
~~
Haha. You seem like a lazy person (no offence). Compromising a few minutes to safeguard your identity should be the primary goal of an individual.
I can spare hours, if it protects my privacy.

WazirX also requires KYC to be complied with before buying/selling cryptocurrencies. Moreover, user can only use bank account and name which is verified in KYC for buying/selling.
The main benefit we gonna get on Binance is of volume. WazirX has very low volume, therefore, the difference between buy and sell price is big. In most of the cases, I am either forced to sell at lower prices or it takes ages for my order to get cleared. So now I send money on some other Exchange first, sell crypto for USDT and then send USDT to WazirX. This process costs around ₹150-300 extra and more importantly additional 1-2 hours of trouble.
And for record, I trust Binance more than WazirX.

I like it, keep at it! I played 9 times... won all 9.

I love it ...maybe because I won the fights  Grin

Glad you guys liked it.

For future versions, maybe add in a random element so that way the person with the higher "reputation" score doesn't always win. Then maybe add results, with each field at a time, of a round-by-round boxing style match, just to create suspense, or a dramatic flair (even though the end result is previously calculated).

Yeah. In the final version I am planning to add multiple cards. Also cards will turn into asset which each member can hold into his account.  The gameplay will be something like this, although it's not final: 4 players playing in real-time against each other in a multiplayer game. Each player will have 5 cards. Each card has some skills depending on card type which will boost its stats. Out of 5 cards, 3 will be owned by the player whereas 2 will randomly chosen for the player in order to make game random and interesting. Cumulative stats or the series of one-vs-one clash will determine winner.

I think suchmoon probably has more bffs than anybody.

He's such a merit giver, I would doubt if he ain't.  Roll Eyes

Suggestions:
- add some sound effects
- add some randomization

There will surely sound effects in final version. What good a game is without sound. I have explain what I am thinking about randomization above.

Without a doubt a great game. What other sorts of web activities / web design / web backend work do ya do? Might inquire about those services.

I am not pro-developer. I am rather a finance professional and my work includes financial audits of companies and taxation consultancy. I learn and do coding out of interest. I have learnt various coding languages in last 7 years in my free time and brushing those to professional level since last 5-6 months. So I don't have a portfolio. Also I am not interested to work for someone or take freelancing job. My only motive of learning coding is to develop something original and giving tangible shapes to my ideas.  Smiley

Very cute game. Played it a couple times.

+Merit for you man, hopefully you continue to develop.

Thanks.

Currently I only pulled some Javascript so that it looks like a game. That's why I named it as version 0.1. However, I have a plan to develop this into a production game where cards will be on blockchain, something similar to Crypto Kitties (thanks to Vod for the idea) and planning to create a whole new MVC framework in order to build a game.

But the response of the members was not convincing. So in order to make sure whether I should continue with the further development or not, I created poll. I request all members here to vote.

This game look great i already try with my Bitcointalk ID.
But i don't know how to play, i already find enemy but stuck in there. Maybe my internet connection is too low  Cheesy

Since it's an interactive game, you have to follow the directions. When you are redirected to game page, first you have to click 'Proceed to Round 1' and then you have to click 'Reveal Challenger'. Then your stats will be matched with that of your opponent. Once Round 1 ends, you will see 'Proceed to Round 2' button. Click it and so on...

1089  Local / Press & News from India / Re: Binance acquires Wazirx to offer Fiat to Crypto Gateway on: November 28, 2019, 05:40:57 PM
    • Fees: So first they charge crypto purchasing fees which is 2.5%. Then they inflate Bitcoin price by 2-3%. Third, they charge INR to USD conversion fees. It becomes very expensive as compared to P2P option.
So the fees will kill you if you are making frequent purchase, when there is a collaboration i thought it would help people but now they have an inflated price for bitcoin and then there is conversion charges which sucks big time and they have a fees of 2.5% on top of everything, i will pass this offer and will trade in P2P rather than spending all the money in fees.

I don't think what we see in 'Buy Crypto' is the result of collaboration between WazirX and Binance. This maybe alternative arrangement from Binance to enter Indian market as WazirX is no where involved in this method. We may soon see WazirX on Binance and it would be most likely in the form of P2P or Customer-to-customer (in Binance vocabulary). WazirX often boasts about its unique P2P matching algorithm for Indian market. This maybe the most prominent factor that lured Binance in acquiring WazirX.

Most probably, we will see WazirX on Binance soon in this page:
    https://c2c.binance.com/en

Currently it is only open for China. But most probably WazirX and Binance are currently working to open this app for Indians soon. If this happens then it would be very beneficiary for Indian users as conversion fees will reduce considerable since crypto-to-crypto conversion in currently expensive on WazirX due to low volume. 1090  Economy / Economics / Re: Future without Middle men big way, but big Question? on: November 28, 2019, 05:21:42 PM
    Your question has many flaws:

I see the World is Going to the Way that no Middle men anymore!
Like decentralized banking the New era  of living.

Decentralized banking is misleading term. There is no concept like decentralized banking. The closest substitute to this term is cryptocurrencies and few dapps providing online credit facilities. But since value of cryptocurrencies is highly dynamic, this model is not sustainable. In short, banks are not going anywhere.

Like uber and Even mobile apps where u can hire someone for the Job or u can get job anytime When u Want....

You gave the example of Uber. But tell me how Uber solves the problem of middle-man? On the contrary, I would say Uber act as a middle-man by bridging gap between customers and cab-providers. Uber receives payment from customer, keeps its cut and gives rest to cab-provider. This is classic example of how middle-man works. You gave entirely wrong example in the situation.

    What about Middle - men?
If we Don't have banks anymore traditions ways then are the bankers Will be unemployed?

Bankers are not middle-man. Bank is middle-man which acts as a medium between those who have extra money and those in need of money. Bankers are mere agents of banking system. Bankers are not born bankers, they appear for test and pass requisite training to become banker. In short we can say being banker is a profession. If banks vanish (which is highly unlikable), bankers' profession will end too. But that doesn't mean bankers will go unemployed. Banking companies will evolve themselves into something else, banker's job will also evolve into something else.

Do you think  life without middle men Will be better?

Very subjective question. Answer differs from case-to-case basis. There are areas where middle-men are necessity while there are areas where removing middle-men will bring more comfort.
    1091  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: November 28, 2019, 04:03:31 PM
Considering that centralized exchanges serve as gateways from crypto to Fiat (or vice-versa), they've been the targets of governments worldwide. The main concern of governments is tax evasion and money laundering. Sometimes I wonder why governments want to tax our cryptocurrency funds if they're not considered as money by most people worldwide? After all, crypto's nature is a highly unpredictable and volatile one. It seems to me that governments want to profit from this venture more than anything else. Any other cryptocurrency which prevents them from "taxing" people, would be considered illegal to them in the future (like Monero, and other privacy coins).

Which is why, I believe that crypto taxation is more of a problem than anything else. Do you agree with me? What are your thoughts? Huh

No, I don't agree with you.

In Utopian society, government has a right to charge taxation on any type of income earned by its citizens and spend the same for the benefit of mankind at whole within the boundary of the country.

Although we could argue that most of the governments are corrupt in present days and instead of spending government funds for the welfare of people, leaders are filling their own pockets. But that doesn't free us from the obligation of paying tax. Paying taxes should be viewed as forced donation. When we are earning money, it is our moral duty to donate part of it for the betterment of society on whole. But since not everyone is moral enough, the concept of taxation popped up and the system is not new, it is in existence for over 4000 years. Just imagine if we all stop paying tax, we all will left with more disposable income and can afford a little better standard of living. But what about roads, bridges, free education, subsidies? In the absence of taxation and governments, who gonna look after these aspects? So it's ok to sacrifice little on standard-of-living part and contribute for public good.

With this result, Napoli is qualified for the final stage, quite surprising for me for the turn of the event they got in the past month.
Nepoli and Liverpool is already qualified. Now they race for first place in the group and seems like Nepoli is ahead so far.

    Are you sure?
As per my calculations, any two of the top 3 teams could qualify for Round of 16. All depends upon the performance in matchday 6. Currently Liverpool have 10 points, Napoli 9 and RB 7. Final matches are between LFC vs RB and Napoli vs Genk. In case Liverpool wins or draws the match, Liverpool qualifies. But in case Liverpool loses the match and Napoli wins against Genk then RB and Napoli will qualify for next round since goal difference of RB is better than Liverpool.

If Dortmund will lose, Inter can lose too and they can pass winning the last game of the group vs Barcelona.
Group H is a thriller, with these results nothing will change Cheesy

Group H was expected to be most exciting as there were 3 equally capable teams in that group. But the team that really amazed me so far is Red Bull Salzburg. Haland and co. has been playing exceptionally well. It would be biggest upset of 21st century if Liverpool lost today and Red Bull beat Liverpool in matchday 6 which is going to be at home turf for RB. The winner of CL getting eliminated in group stages of next year, rare sight! I would be delighted to see that.  Grin

Last time I visited your gallery there were only handful of paintings and it was in BTC shape. I liked the idea but thought there was lot of room for improvement.
But believe me man, now you have developed it to another level. Hands down! This is my favorite submission in Art Contest. You really created a perfect memoir for 10th anniversary.
1095  Local / Press & News from India / Re: Binance acquires Wazirx to offer Fiat to Crypto Gateway on: November 27, 2019, 07:05:59 PM
I tried the new 'Buy Crypto' feature of Binance and following are my observations:

    1. KYC Process - KYC Process was smooth and instant. I submitted my Driving Licence and Selfie and that was all. Unlike some stringent KYC norms (which also ask for utility bills to verify address), it was relatively less strict. Once documents were submitted, Binance used netverify AI to access the authenticity of documents. I don't know how reliable these AIs are but I received the documents verified and KYC successful e-mail just 2 minutes after submitting documents.

    2. Buying Crypto - You can select INR from drop-down and the minimum amount to buy is ₹1000. Binance uses Simplex and Koinal services to allow the trade between INR and BTC. Simplex and Koinal are global forex services which allow crypto-purchases from VISA/Mastercard Debit/Credit Card. These services charge 2.5% over-the-top fees and also inflate buy price by 2-3% so current Buy price will be something around $7700 - 7800. Also minimum INR purchase is ₹4000 on these services so ₹1000 which is set by Binance becomes irrelevant in final step.

    3. Selling Crypto - It is not possible to sell cryptos for INR on Binance at the moment.

My feedback: I won't recommend to use Buy Crypto option on Binance due to following reason:
    • Risk: It is always risky to buy crypto directly from corporation since RBI issued ban on banking services to crypto businesses. Although it's a kind of indirect purchase but still international transaction and on top of that for crypto purchase, banking software may mark that as suspecting transaction and bank may freeze your account.
    • Fees: So first they charge crypto purchasing fees which is 2.5%. Then they inflate Bitcoin price by 2-3%. Third, they charge INR to USD conversion fees. It becomes very expensive as compared to P2P option.

Keylar Nava's performance in PSG's goal was exceptional too, Real Madrid could have easily got 3-4 goals if it was some other keeper.
Maybe G. Buffon ? LOL Grin,
But K. Navas was good enough for PSG while, R. Madrid was just unlucky to maintain victory in when the match is almost over. I think Neymar presence at the start of the second half made PSG more enjoyable to watch. But thats not the problem, I am just unlucky because PSG failed to add goals to their win and my bet.

I only watched first half and o boy! If we remove the first 12 minutes from first half, Real Madrid played the best football of the season for next 33 minutes + 3 added minutes. Hazard, Valverde, Kroos, Benzama all were on fire. You can't deny Hazard is at last back in his Chelsea form, although he isn't scoring goals. I went to sleep after first half and was quite sure RM will win this one but it was surprising to find in morning that match drew.

Lets wait for Liverpool and Barcelona to win their match today.

I don't suspect Liverpool but Barcelona's one won't be easy. Barcelona has shown its vulnerability in last few matches, especially in defence. Dortmund is no joke and we all know about Valverde's coaching crisis. But recently he is trying to improve his approach towards game. For example, giving strategic rest to Arthur in week-end Laliga game was a nice move. He will be fresh tonight and may act as a pivot in midfield. If Barcelona wants to win this one, I would like to see De Jong - Arthur - Rakitic in midfield where Vidal replacing Rakitic in second half. We all have to agree Busquets is no longer the player he used to be. Also everything has to pass through Messi, this is how Barca plays. No one in midfield knows Messi better than Rakitic so I would like to see him starting his first CL match of the season tonight.

Some really good games to watch tonight, I can’t decide if I want to watch Liverpool vs Napoli or Barca vs Dortmund.

Go for Barca vs Dortmund. It would be much more interesting.

If you could let us choose avatar directly from device that would be great.

The problem is, I don't want to store images on my disk belonging to someone else. It may be possible people use images which have copyright. I know I am thinking too much as it's only 120*80px picture but you don't know when your time goes bad. On top of it, it may consume some of my memory which I could use for my other projects.  Cheesy
Nevertheless, you can always use image hosting services like imgur or imgbb and then use that link to create card. It will take just 2 extra minutes.

As I said on the other subject, if it is possible, I would know the part that generates the images ( In private message if necessary ) Smiley

I have sent you PM regarding this. Just share your email in private and I will be glad to share image generating code with you.  Smiley

If you liked this game and/or my custom card creator, you can vote for me if you want in 10th anniversary badge voting: Vote for webtricks!

This project is an extension of my previous work: BTCTalk Cards. Did you try creating your own custom card? Do you think your card is strong enough to challenge top 1000 Bitcointalk profiles? Why not find out now...

Face-Off is an interactive gaming experience where player has to input his bitcointalk ID. Once ID is input, a real-time custom card for the player is generated. Then the player has to face different challengers in three-rounds game. The cards of challengers will also be generated in real-time. In first round, popularity of the players will be tested. In second round, one having more reputation will win. Third and final round is about merits. If you got more merits than challenger, you win.

    Who are challengers?
Challengers are the three random profiles picked from the top 1000 most recognized profiles on Bitcointalk as per BPIP.

Is there a chance that I face myself in clash?
Yeah! If you are one among top 1000 users, there is a chance that you face yourself in game.

    Then who will win?
Of-course, you! How can you lose from your own self! In case of equal stats, player will win.
