1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / A question regarding Timestamp on: January 01, 2020, 06:36:17 AM
As we all know nonce is the number that keeps on changing until the hash generated with the joint string of nonce and other block data matches the target difficulty requirement.
Other block data such as data, last hash and difficulty remain constant but what about timestamp? Does timestamp also changes alongside nonce at every iteration until required hash is found or it remains constant?
1022  Other / Meta / Re: BTCTALK CARDS - The Real-time Custom Cards for Bitcointalk Members on: December 29, 2019, 08:26:58 AM
Since BPIP is under construction, BTCTalk Cards can no longer scrape BFF data from BPIP.
Therefore BFF option has been deprecated from the card. (Also it was one of the most controversial data in the card as far as Wall Observer thread is concerned).
In the place of BFF option, Trust data has been added. Positive and Negative Trust of the member from Default Trust (no custom list) will be printed.
1023  Local / India / Re: Interesting update from South East Delhi about crypto FIR on: December 28, 2019, 01:05:16 PM
Really interesting to know this kind of news. Actually no single FIR  has been registered there regarding Crypto Currency fraud or any ponzi scam about Crypto. Many people doesn't know about crypto this shows that how many are aware of cryptocurrency in India.

Reality is somewhat different from this. Actually, lots of Indian people know about Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies and use them in one way or the other. But the outlook of government institutions like police, income tax departments, banks, etc. is skeptical and mostly negative towards cryptocurrencies. As a result, either people are afraid to register complaints or they are bashed by police if they try to do so.
Stedsm shared one of his experience on the forum before that once he was scammed by a localbitcoins buyer but when he tried to lodge complaint, police rather bashed him and told him not to come with any complaint regarding cryptocurrencies.

Income Tax Department is currently training its officers regarding cryptocurrencies and the circumstances where officers have to judge whether the person holding cryptocurrencies is doing legal work or illegal. This is very good step in my opinion. Thread here

But police department is relatively less smart and educated (no offence) and it is really hard to train police officers regarding legality/illegality of cryptos and different situations.
1024  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Namecheap | BTCpayserver on: December 26, 2019, 07:29:13 PM
Good decisions ever taken by Namecheap CEO, I have bad experience with namecheap bitcoin payment methods. I had to made deposit on namecheap some reason (just for help someone else). I were surprised after see their deposit system and fees. Fee is too high during transaction from Bitpay. And by forced I had to use Bitpay since Namecheap redirected to Bitpay wallet. I don't know why such as good brand using Bitpay for their payment system.

If they really use BTCPay server, then I believe more users will encourage to pay via bitcoin on their platform and their sell would increase more. So changing payment processor to BTCPay is a right decision right now.
You had to use Bitpay's wallet? I think you missed something, you could click on continue as a guest, copy the address and send the requested amount from any wallet.

That's the catch. You can't copy BTC Address from Bitpay payment interface. The only solution is either you scan the QR code or paste the payment url in wallet compatible with BitPay link. I think they made the gateway like this so to force the people into joining BitPay.

Do not forget to make your picks today like I forgot few days ago and lost a possibility to gain some important points

Rounds are coming fast and thick. I have already made my picks for all three rounds that are to be played this week. Unlike my previous picks, I spent quite a time to research/think about picks this week. After calculating probable winners, I taken into consideration surprise elements (like favorites getting defeated, host losing against away team) which have become quite common since last few rounds. Then placing both variables (probable winners, surprise winners) into array, I looped probability function using each team's position as third variable over first two variables and made final decision on that basis.
So far everything going pretty good. I got 5 correct in first 7 (2 exact) and 8th one also going correct as for now. Let's see how many points I could make after 23 upcoming matches. But one thing is sure if my technique as mentioned above doesn't work then it is sure that analysis/experience/skills have zero value and only luck works into sports gambling.

I’m focused on the Leicester - Liverpool match, I’m giving and advance to Liverpool of course, but it will not be easy at all to win

What an amazing match we got here. I am going for 3-1 win for Leicester. Bring it on, I am ready to sacrifice my sleep tonight for this match!  Cheesy
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 26, 2019, 03:18:31 PM
You are right! Haaland does have good goal scoring instinct but his movements are not impressive. He is kinda slow to receive ball from midfield and shift the body into attacking momentum. He mostly loses ball in this transition. He has to bring more swiftness and speed into his game if he wanted to join the league of Zlatan, Ageuro or Suarez.

Even if Haaland will be a bad player for 30 Million is a good operation for the one who will get him.

With the money in the circus increasing every year, in 3 years you can easily sell at the same price or more (if he will fail).
If he will not fail and he will become a top player you can easily earn 50 Millions in 2 years.

Not necessarily. Barcelona bought Dembele for €125M and Coutinho for €140M. But no will pay even 75% of that in present market. Max both can draw 50% of their spending.
Similarly Jao Felix was hyped and sold for €126M but he doesn't worth that much, even on good days.

Players have to performance if they want their price tag go up or at least retain its value.

No doubt, €30M is a good deal for hyped player who is barely 19. But I don't think Salzburg will let Haaland go for anything below €50M and paying above €50M will be a bad business if he doesn't improve significantly.
1027  Other / Meta / Re: Demanding additional [li] tags in list !! on: December 25, 2019, 08:33:28 PM
A list is a number of items.  One is a number, so theymos gave you twice as many as would have been required to call it a "list."  Tongue

Well, that was technical. Are you lawyer or something?

I agree with this proposal assuming that the additional 2 required tags are automatically added and turned into cat-emojis. Paging theymos.

That was selfish. You defied the purpose of whole movement. I'm dissapointed. Comrades won't be happy.

Merry Christmas.

Same to you. Smiley

1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 25, 2019, 06:20:39 PM
Haaland on the other hand doesn't seem like a really "team changer" type of deal for me, Juventus could use him very well but its not going to be like "Juventus got Haaland and suddenly they became champions easily with 10+ point difference" type of guaranteed success just because they got him, its more of a future investment than just short term 6 months transfer for them.

Moreover, Juventus forward line is already too much crowded. Basic Juventus formation only uses 2 men upfront and with Ronaldo, Dybala, Higuain, Costa and Bernardeschi already as the contenders, Haaland may have to spend most of the time on bench for first couple of seasons. With his attitude and self-importance, I doubt he would like to remain on bench for long.
1030  Other / Meta / Demanding additional [li] tags in list !! on: December 25, 2019, 04:35:18 PM
I mean seriously! Just 2!  Angry Angry
Why would I create a list for just 2 items!
Increase it to 4 at least.

Reason for demand:
  • 1. Because I am too lazy to type/paste more.
  • 2. Because it's Christmas

Wait! Did I just create list with two items?
1031  Economy / Economics / Re: Hi Excuse me Are currencies a "store of value on: December 25, 2019, 04:08:44 PM
Too much price instability does not mean that they cannot be value stores. It may not be a value store for large companies. However, they can be an investment tool for ordinary people. Picking up some bitcoin and putting it aside can make huge gains in the future.

This is the main problem with the forum. Did you even read the OP or simply wrote the post by reading title alone?
OP isn't talking about Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. She's pointing the discrepancy in one of the 3 major functions that traditional money (i.e. fiat currencies like USD) performs.

Money basically performs these functions:
  • Medium of Exchange
  • Unit of Account
  • Store of Value

However, due to excessive inflation, the purpose of 3rd function is collapsing. In general this function works like this: Suppose I own 50kg wheat that I require after 6 months. Then instead of spending money on its storage and security, I would rather sold my holdings and buy those again after 6 months. But due to inflation, I may not not able to buy 50kg wheat after 6 months as the price of wheat may have increased.

Best way to combat this problem is by investing money in inflation-defeating investment like debt funds or moderately-risked shares.
1032  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Looking for Direct Buyer in India F2F in Delhi or Chandigarh on: December 25, 2019, 01:44:26 PM
But how can you sell btc for cash via forum escrow?
If escrow is someone from other than India, little problem may arise. Escrow can hold the BTC while the buyer will deposit cash with bank/other available payment method like paytm etc. Proof of sending transaction may raise some question though.
If escrow is from India, escrow can hold the cash & ask seller to send te BTC to buyers desired address which can be verified. Later, escrow will release the cash to sellers desired payment method.

So you saying it is ok for escrow to meet buyer and collect cash from him but the same thing will become dangerous if buyer on his own meets seller?
Doesn't make much sense to me.
F2F dealing is quite common in India. Although there are chances that buyer or seller may have intentions otherwise but it is not possible to involve escrow in such dealing.
1033  Economy / Reputation / Re: Have you seen Yobit's new signature design? on: December 24, 2019, 09:29:16 AM
To everyone asking for theymos'/yahoo62278's/mods'/etc approval: Take some damn responsibility and think for yourself. You want all the money of advertising this scam without any of the repercussions that come with it. If theymos told you to go and take out a loan and not pay it back, would you do it?

Maybe the opinions of Yahoo or mods don't matter much but what theymos thinks definitely have value here. Last time when he decided to stop Yobit campaign, nor Yobit nor do the participants were able to do anything. But last time ban on campaign was more inclined by the spamming and not the reputation of YoBit. However, this time Yahoo is maintaining the quality up to certain degree. So it also brings Yahoo's opinion into mix to some degree.

If Yahoo decides to leave quality moderation, this will again initiate uncontrolled spamming. Such campaign abusing may again trigger Theymos to ban the campaign.

I personally think Yobit's investbox is different from HYIP upto certain degree. They are promising returns in respective coin (not Bitcoin or USD conversion) and surely paying the return. But on the moral grounds, it is still wrong to lure readers to click and invest in something which have very-high probability of getting dumped eventually. But we forum members aren't that moral or are we?

At second, there many people from poor countries, India for example. Where Yobit's 50 dollars per week is really good money (in India some people get 1-2 dollars per day).

I don't know which India did you check but no one here works for 1-2 dollars a day. This amount is too low to even survive in India. Minimum wages for unskilled labors here is $5-7. Also $50 a week or $200/month is not at all a good amount. When converted to INR, it comes out to be 14K Indian Rupee which could hardly cover your rent, food, conveyance/vehicle fuel and children's school fees for the month.
1034  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Looking for Direct Buyer in India F2F in Delhi or Chandigarh on: December 23, 2019, 07:51:55 PM
This is very much important for people thinking having F2F deal-
It's way more risky than you can think if you are going to deal a handsome amount. You might be get robbed with serious injury. I would prefer/suggest using an escrow from bitcointalk to have a safe & secure deal. You can use DarkStar_ or someone from our local board as well. It may cost you a little but still it's far better option than risking your life through F2F deals.
OP, I'm not directing my finger at you. Hope you don't mind it. It's risky for both party.

But how can you sell btc for cash via forum escrow?
1035  Economy / Reputation / Re: Have you seen Yobit's new signature design? on: December 23, 2019, 07:36:21 PM
Long story short, we can't fill the forum with something like earn 10% every day below every second post. Thousand of Crypto newbies visit this forum daily and most of them will lure into this Yobit's so-called investment box because Bitcoin still has reputation of get-rich quickly scheme among folks.
Whether it being legit or scam is secondary. But on moral grounds this campaign should stop, at least direct link to imvestbox is vicious. Waiting for words from Theymos.

Nice thread Hhampuz.  Wink
Well the person I wanna acknowledge here is Heisenberg_Hunter. When Indian section was almost on the verge of turning dead and inactive, he started appreciating and meriting any post in Indian section that contributes to quality discussion. As a result, Indian section has now turned comparatively more active and have many quality threads. Also, he consolidated resources for new Indian crypto users in a thread and that thread is undoubtedly best thread in Indian section. He's merit source now, btw. Smiley

Predicting winners have become really difficult or is it just me? Matches are becoming extremely unpredictable. When I was almost believing that Manchester United is back, it lost from Watford. I mean seriously! Who loses from Watford, you have to play utterly nonsense to be beaten by the side which won only single game in 17 games.

Meanwhile me after having 5th awful week in a row:

Ok. Since one of the three inputs from eddie is right, excluding bones261, either actmyname or something to do with merits have to be correct.

But few guesses have already exhausted the possibility of actmyname. So most probably something to do with merit is correct. My next guess is lovesmayfamilis. He's pretty active in altcoin section.
