1041  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Social media promotion on: December 19, 2019, 06:16:48 PM
Hello.

Our team is looking for social media promotion channels. Is there any list of good promotion channels on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram...

would be glad to know if it is, or if you are a popular social media promotor contact me on: dave.giligh@gmail.com

Best regards

Crypto niche has been excessively polluted and spammed over social media platforms like Twitter. People nowadays build huge followings by mass following others and promoting your content over such channels will generate almost zero activity for you.

The only active profiles which may generate results for you on Twitter are either of popular TA Analyst/Traders or Social media pages of popular PR sites like CoinTelegraph. But again the problem is, they either charge very high rates or don't promote sponsored content. In either way, promotion received per unit of money spent is very low.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: December 19, 2019, 05:36:17 PM

In the champions league everything can happen Atalanta is not the best club in Serie A

In not the best but they are one of the best.

They are on the second spot for points from January to December 2019.

source https://www.transfermarkt.it/serie-a/jahrestabelle/wettbewerb/IT1

That's because Atlanta had good second half of 2018/19 season but recently the level of their performance had fallen. In last 6 Serie A fixtures, Atlanta is able to win only 2, losing three others and drawing one. If we talk about whole season, Atlanta only won 50% matches so far and not looking convincing enough to qualify for Champions League next year.

Valencia has shown metal in Champions League especially against Chelsea and Ajax in away games. Atlanta is comparatively weaker side, IMO.
1043  Economy / Economics / Re: Question about MarketCap and Cashing Out on: December 19, 2019, 04:26:54 PM
Market cap is a really, really crappy metric but we seem to be stuck with it. It's purely the current price on an exchange multiplied by the number of all mined coins.
You could reduce Bitcoin's market cap by $50 billion by selling a few tens of millions of dollars worth of BTC in quick succession. The price is set by what's on the exchanges and there isn't a great deal on there to meet a giant sell.

That's true, market cap is hypothetical metric. It has no real application and assessment.
Moreover, market cap depends upon the source from which the value is being scraped and calculated. I may sell 1 or even 1000 BTC to someone for $5 each on Exchange A but it won't affect the market cap if Exchange A is not being considered to calculate marketcap. On the contrary, selling even 0.0005 BTC for $5 on Exchange B will drop the marketcap (although for a fraction of second till another order is executed) if Exchange B's data is being used to calculate Market Cap.

Just a news to relax you guys a bit: YoBit had an IEO scheduled today and it has been successfully subscribed. YoBit now have more funds to waste on this campaign, expect wallets to refill anytime soon!  Wink

Isco and Bale are in the starting XI...Isco...'fatboy/cone Isco' is going to play today...WOW!

Well, we're about to get fucked by Barcelona today since we're gonna play with 10 men right from the get go. Thank you, Zizou  Smiley

Zidane trusting experience over pace, cool!

Who do you think is Zidane's weapon against Messi among these XI, the one he was talking about in PC?  Cheesy

By the way, here is the Barcelona XI: https://twitter.com/FCBarcelona/status/1207354841800101891

Roberto starting in midfield. He is playing very good as right back, let's see how does he perform in his preferable position. I was kinda sure that Busquets won't start but I was expecting Vidal to start over Roberto/Semedo.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: New Ethereum DEX with unique features. Is it useful? on: December 18, 2019, 05:27:48 PM
I'm an engineer working on a DEX with a friend of mine. We're nearly done, but in true engineer fashion we've developed the tech before seeing if there are people who would use it. If you could let me know if you see any value in this or not, or what else you'd like to see, that would be really appreciated. Here are the core features:
- Free, completely
- Ethereum ERC20 tokens only (no BTC / other chains)
- Can list any ERC20 token without registration approval (it's decentralized so, there's no central authority on what can be listed)
- Leverages liquidity from Uniswap if the token pair you're looking for isn't being traded yet
- Can facilitate Auctions/ICOs/STOs and inherently turns all of these into IEOs
- Direct swaps with friends

I liked the idea. You have tried to pack all in one and things seem pretty balanced to me.

I saw that you gave detail about last point i.e. 'Swap with friends' in your other post but things are still unclear to me, could you explain me more. How is your P2P option different from simple wallet transaction? If you are not acting as escrow that means ownership of tokens still lie with the seller. So how will transparent and fair trade take place?

By the way, you may not find many favorable reviews on Bitcointalk as people love to remain little critical here but believe me your product is good. The only problem I see coming is in point 3 i.e. 'Can list any ERC20 token without registration approval'. I am currently researching whether the grounds of my doubt are reasonable or not, if I find that this may have negative impact on users' trading experience then I will inform you.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: December 18, 2019, 03:41:41 PM

On the front lines, Isco and Benzema, but I Isco is always not right to contribute the ball to Benzema and it's still not the best for now.
As for Eden Hazard and James Rodriguez, they can't strengthen their team against Barcelona. I don't know what the reason is.

Hazard and Rodriguez are not in the squad. Both are injured and won't start. Kroos-Casemiro-Valverde(or Modric) will start in middle with Rodrigo-Benzema-Vinicius upfront most probably.

In the prediction of this match I only measured it to a score of 2-1.

You are underestimating Barcelona. Barcelona have only scored 2 goals once this season at Camp Nou and Messi wasn't playing that match. At every other instance, Barca have managed to score at least 3 goals with 5 most of the times.
I think we could see even 8 goals in this game. Barcelona's defense has been poor so far but improved impressively in last 2 fixtures. Real won't score more than 2-3 goals. While Barcelona can easily score 5.
1048  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Citizenship Amendment Bill and NRC - Good or bad for India? on: December 18, 2019, 01:17:14 PM
I'm sure, this topic needs no further explanation as it is a hot topic right now everywhere! Even though it is not related to cryptos but I am sure want to know what people are thinking. I am listening to different opinions from different people about it - some are saying it will disturb the normal course of life in India and some people are saying it will be great for the future of India.

Please speak out your thoughts on it! Whatever your take on it, don't miss the reason!

This bill on its own is very less productive. The only reason why BJP introduced this bill is for political gain. In short, it's a political stunt to impress Hindus.
But is it right to oppose bill through protests and all? No! I would suggest people remain calm and don't react much to this bill (or act now) because although act is not doing any greater good and is surely biased but on the other hand, it isn't even doing wrongful to anyone. So why so much anger?

Now coming to NRC. I won't tell whether I support NRC or not but there is one reason why I strongly oppose NRC and i.e. high chance of errors. Government may have good intention behind it, who knows but execution of NRC throughout country will create unnecessary chaos. I have experience in maintaining 'Register of Members' under Companies Act and believe me it's too complicated. Now imagine if maintaining register for handful of members is that difficult, how difficult would be to maintain register for every citizen of country! It's crazy to even think about it. Many people will have their names even though they don't qualify, many people won't have their names even though they qualify! Chaos! Chaos!
1049  Economy / Economics / Re: If we can see a country with 'Bitocin standard' monetary system on: December 18, 2019, 12:12:29 PM
I am not sure if a country will have some sort of bitcoin standart but I am pretty sure we are moving to a level where countries will have their own stablecoins which then could potentially have some sort of limitation just like bitcoin having 21 million max cap, those nations with max cap stablecoins could potentially back their money with that stablecoin and that would mean there would be some sort of gold standard type of deal where it is limited and depends on how much people value it.

If USA one day came out and said they will print out 1 trillion dollar worth of stablecoin and that it will never be printed more than that, people would buy it and hope that it would go up in value, sounds like it could "kinda" work. There would be ton of details but certainly better than current "backed by nothing" system.

The things you saying are contradictory with each other. First problem, stablecoins are not capped. It doesn't make much sense to limit the production of stablecoin. In order to measure the increase/decrease in the value of any commodity, you need a variable which changes with the value. Currently fiat money serves that purpose. Suppose, the price of 1 kg onion is $5. Now due to decrease in supply, owning onion has become difficult so price will rise, say to $10. Similarly, the value of all commodities change and such change can be exponential. If the variable i.e. fiat money is limited then you won't be able to measure the increase in value after a certain point which is not right for the economy.

Second problem, the problem of growth. Why do you think price of an item increases? Or salary of an individual increases every year? The underlying problem is the problem of growth. No one wants to remain at same point for all his life. Everyone wants to grow. If you have $100 today, you want to have $150 tomorrow and may be $200 a day later and so on. The concept of growth has given the birth to the concept of inflation and so on. Now if we limit the production of money like you saying, $1 trillion in US Economy. It may sound great solution for now but what about 100 years later? How will US measure its GDP growth once economy will touch $1 trillion mark? You always need an infinite variable.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralization or Scalability? on: December 17, 2019, 06:58:04 PM
Bitcoin's block size is limited therefore it can only process handful of transactions per block. As you said, it is feature rather than bug. This contributes to the market value of Bitcoin, making is more difficult to own. This is called premium creation. That is why Bitcoin's price has risen so much.

But it is wrong to expect everything from Bitcoin. It can't be used as your go-through currency for shopping or a currency supporting your online application that processes hundreds of transactions per second. To solve this problem, developers have created many coins over-time. With less block difficulty (due to less mining competition), large block size, shorter block creation time; such coins solve the basic problem of Bitcoin. But it doesn't mean such coins are centralized. Decentralization is not black/white concept. Most of the coins are still community-driven even though their spread is much smaller than the Bitcoin.
1051  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin might be over but blockchain will live on: December 17, 2019, 05:49:38 PM
There are a lot of countries now start adopting blockchain technology because this is very useful in terms of economic growth and progress.
But blockchain will not work without a host and it should have strong crypto that might be used, bitcoin is the one so far. I dont think bitcoin might be over, in fact, it is now on the global market and become in the mainstream.

What do you mean by host? I would describe Blockchain Technology as a way of storing data so that data is resistant to manipulation. It is substitute to traditional database models by recording data in the blocks. Creating cryptocurrency is rather an instance or utility of Blockchain Technology. Else otherwise, blockchain is self sufficient to run even without having any monetary system (or cryptocurrency) running over it.

Bitcoin on its own doesn't contribute anything towards application of Blockchain Technology. Developers can't use Bitcoin's ecosystem (or blockchain) to develop some applications over it. Bitcoin only has single utility i.e. to be used as currency. More recent cryptocurrencies like Ethereum have opened the door for developers to create their own applications without creating blockchain first.

Round of 16:

Dortmund vs PSG
Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Atalanta vs Valencia
Atletico vs Liverpool
Chelsea vs Bayern
Lyon vs Juventus
Tottenham vs Leipzig
Napoli vs Barcelona

My picks in bold. What are yours?

Dortmund vs PSG - PSG is too hot to handle for Dortmund. Also PSG gonna have 2nd leg at home. Neymar is back too, almost zero chance for Dortmund.
Real Madrid vs Manchester City  - Another bad CL season coming for Real Madrid. Manchester City will win.
Atalanta vs Valencia - Valencia is playing pretty balanced both in home league and CL. I won't be surprised if it reaches in Quarter Finals as one of the two Spanish side.
Atletico vs Liverpool - If any match is likely to be most prone to upset, this one is my pick. I am currently rooting for Liverpool's victory but AM can win this one provided that Liverpool's performance against non-English sides is not as convincing as in Premier League so far this season.
Chelsea vs Bayern - Hehe, poor Chelsea. Bayern is in top-gear. Coutinho and Muller are coming back in-form. It seems like Bayern is playing with 4 strikers. Chelsea will lose both legs.
Lyon vs Juventus - Easy draw for Juventus. Last year Messi's team defeated Lyon in Round of 16. This time, Ronaldo will have the pleasure.
Tottenham vs Leipzig - Tottenham is too unstable. Leipzig is comparatively better side IMO. It will become second German team to qualify for Quarters alongside Bayern.
Napoli vs Barcelona - Barcelona's away form is awful. Barca at home is entirely different team from Barca away from home. At home, it can win games even from 5 goals deficit (PSG vs Barcelona). On the contrary, it can lose away games even from 3-0 leads (Liverpool and Roma). It's good that 2nd leg is at home and Napoli is not strong enough to survive at Camp Nou.

De Bruyne is on fire today.
2 goals and an assist already. Can he better the Coutinho's performance from yesterday's match?

He was among my top 3 present midfielders with De Jong and Toni Kroos. But after today's performance, he's inarguably the best midfielder at the moment.
1054  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 15, 2019, 01:14:09 PM
Another day of crazy results ! But well done Hhampuz  Wink
Hopefully I’ll have a better day tomorrow - 1.5 pts - what a shocker

3 points from 6 games was how I fared yesterday, It's a another week of general disaster. lol.
A couple of matches I'm very interested in today Man Utd vs toffees, The Arsenal vs Man City. Anyone else seeing a win for both Manchester teams ?

I met with road accident yesterday and  was unable to make the picks. I thought it would be final blow as I am already 60 points lagging from the pool leader and losing another 10-15 points would virtually end my chances of winning pool. But seems like everyone doing awful this week.  Grin The round leader has only scored 6 so far and I got 2 points through default picks. So trail is still salvageable and I may make my way in top 10.

By the way, I have also picked both Manchester teams to win today. I am going for 3-5 for Arsenal vs Manchester City match. Hope we will see lot of goals.  Cheesy
1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to create a valuable altcoin without conducting ICO? on: December 12, 2019, 07:19:49 PM
I can give you a very simple idea! A lot of tokens fail in the market because they don't have any utility so try to create a place first where people will be able to use your tokens to get goods or services as well as profit dividends. It's hard but not impossible. Here is the plan of action,

1. Create a website like Ebay with worldwide shipping facility and low product price where people will be able to use fiat money as well.
2. Tell your customers that they will get some additional benefit like 15% discount or free worldwide shipping if they use your token to purchase goods.
3. Have a swap facility build within that platform where people can instantly swap their fiat money into your token and complete the purchase. Let me tell you how it will work,

    a) I want to buy a goods worth $100 and need to pay additional $15 for shipping to my country
    b) While adding the product to the cart, a pop up will appear stating that the shipping cost can be zero if token is used instead of fiat money.
    c) A swap link will appear along side the notification where the customer can convert his fiat money into token
    d) This is how you create utility of your token. Won't be much during initial times but once you start receiving volume, this is going to be huge

4. Your token will also be considered as a share of your company. Every token holder is the share holder of your company. So you pay them yearly dividends in the form of token. Just imagine if Alibaba start this kind of plan, wouldn't you be rushing into buying their token as it will create as good passive income source for you?

I know my imagination is great! Lol!

On the whole, it's a nice idea. E-commerce is one the best area for the application of cryptocurrency and blockchain, however, I have some doubts regarding its application which I am listing below:

  • In what currency will sellers be paid? Will they be paid in fiat money or token? If they are paid in fiat then the model of token will have zero relevance. If they are paid in token, what incentive will be there for sellers?

  • Will the value of token be pegged to something like USD or floating? For perfect functioning of market, the value should be stable. Why? Because to provide buyers instant tokens to complete the purchase, it is more viable if buyers clear sell orders rather than creating buy orders. If vendors are to be paid in tokens then sell orders will be most likely be created by vendors. Now the vendor having lowest sell price will have his order clear first. This will create competition among sellers to liquidate their tokens first. Eventually price of token will depreciate at every trading cycle. It will be more clear if I use an example. Suppose person purchased 1 iPhone worth $750 and an air-conditioner worth $500. The price of token at the time of purchase was $0.50 per token. He got 2500 tokens and used those to pay for bill which was $1400 ($1250+$150 shipping). After the purchase was complete, the tokens will come back to me. First of all, I will bear the loss of $150 and that's ok because this will help in creating market for my tokens. Next I will take my commission (suppose 15%) and pay rest of the 2125 tokens to vendors, let say, 1275 tokens to Vendor A and 850 tokens to Vendor B.
Now Vendor A created sell order @ $0.50 per token. Vendor B had more urgency and he created order @ $0.48 per token. Then next buyer came and purchased tokens for $0.48. The circle will continue and market will die unless some holders try to manipulate it by creating fake demand or the value of coin is pegged.

  • Shares of company are something we consider as the capital of company and place that at the top on the Liabilities side of our balance sheet which means these are most permanent and once issued, will only return back to company in case of buy-back of shares or dissolution of company. On the other side, tokens will serve as an integral part of trading cycle and form the part of working capital flow and will return to company after every purchase. Tokens will be more like current asset than a share capital.
1056  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC to GOLD on: December 12, 2019, 06:18:47 PM
I wouldn't trade any bitcoin for gold or silver right now, and probably wouldn't ever.  Whether the halving is going to produce another bull run or not, I have a feeling bitcoin is going to increase whereas gold is probably going to tread water indefinitely.

Same here. I don't know why would someone trade Bitcoin for Gold, both of these don't even belong to same 'risk/return' class. If someone makes investment smartly or take advice from some broker or portfolio manager, he/she should know that a balance portfolio must include an adequate share of high-risk high return securities like Bitcoin, medium risk/return like equity market and gold and low risk/return securities like debt funds and bank deposits.

Taking money out of Bitcoin and putting that into Gold means you are either investing arbitrarily or you disrupting your well-settled portfolio. Bitcoin and Gold are not inter-changeable securities.

We can say that gold is a much safer investment with a fairly stable price, but also with less opportunity to earn when compared to Bitcoin.
Exactly, I couldn't have said it better myself.  If you don't want your investment to grow, buy gold.  If you want to make a profit given enough time, buy bitcoin.

I don't agree with your words. Gold is proven investment and has its own rate of market return and price arc. It is wrong to compare it with Bitcoin. Gold has grown around 60% in last 4 years. I have some gold bonds in my portfolio and they are among my best performing assets in last 3 years.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: December 12, 2019, 05:13:56 PM
It is going to be an amazing knock-out stage in Champions League. It is for the time that only teams from top-5 leagues are able to qualify for knockouts. 4 from Spain, 4 from PL, 3 from Serie A, 3 German teams and 2 French sides are in final 16. All of the 8 pre-quarter finals are going to be close and exciting. Waiting for draw.  Cheesy

Well, sportsbooks made so much money this year from shocking results, it was time that people manage to make some money back from them. Remember the few weeks in premier league where everyone lost money? City losing, spurs losing, it was all coming together and everyone was losing money like crazy.

Yeah. It was pretty good week for me too especially the Barcelona vs Inter Milan game. I had majority of my stake on that match and Barca won. Odds were 5.6 and I had amazing return.  Cheesy
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to create a valuable altcoin without conducting ICO? on: December 12, 2019, 03:50:58 PM
The best example for your topic is AWC (Atomic Wallet Coin) which is a utility token for Atomic Wallet. The Atomic Wallet team never conducted an ICO and still, they were in profit from day one. If you create good products and provide good support you do not need an ICO or IEO.

AWC is listed on IDEX and BINANCE DEX.

I checked the markets for AWC and gross volume is just $200. I don't think we call a coin successful if its real market is not even 0.03 BTC!

Also, wallets and exchanges are completely different area of play. In order to create a successful wallet/exchange based coin, we first have to build a successful wallet/exchanges which is being used by minimum 100K users (that's my personal definition of success for such projects).

Features? Well, at present we have all sort of altcoins. PoS, PoW, privacy coin, anonymous coin, no-fees coin, instant confirmation, unlimited supply, limited supply, ERC-20, independent chain, coin with dapp platform, altcoins today have all kind of features. I don't think investors care about features at all while buying coins.
I still care about this, lets say the new coins more safe and faster than the original source.

Example one of my coins called X-CASH, they using a monero source code for their algo. The transaction was really anonymous, faster and more cheaper than monero, X-CASH got a good ROI. At the beginning of their project, the diff mining get price around 20 Litetoshi and now they reach 120 Litetoshi in the past few weeks ago.

Features are surely the backbone of any cryptocurrency. I don't argue that. But you can't go forward and create a new currency by just adding a few features to existing one. I always advocate the idea that whenever someone thinking to create new currency, he should only execute the idea if the project gonna bring some major improvement to ecosystem, not just how a coin works. For example,  Solidity i.e. the language developed along with Ethereum to create smart contracts has several limitations. One of which is that you can't generate random number using this language. Another limitation which is comparatively minor is that you can't create array of strings in Solidity.

Now if I compare these two limitations, former is proving to be a major hurdle as one of the popular use of blockchain is gambling and it isn't possible to create completely fair game with smart contract. But on the other side, it is easy to tackle latter one with some front-end Javascript-based library.

So, if someone solves the problem of RNG and creates a new blockchain/coin, it is understandable. But if someone just improve the chain and provide the capability of adding array of strings and create new blockchain/coin, then I don't think the coin will be successful at all.

~I didn't say these words. Please always try to quote correctly~
BCH its non-airdrop, its a forked you need to hold "Bitcoin" to get BCH.
Airdrop its a free distribution for the coin, but if you want to get BCH you need to hold Bitcoin to your wallet or some exchange who share their snapshot BCH for the customer.

I have read all the posts so far and almost all of these are stressing on one idea: a working product

However, my question is what do you consider as working product? There are two popular ways through which new projects try to enter market, they either create new blockchain that provides some infrastructure to other projects like Ethereum or Tron. Or they create tokens that back or act as fuel for some real-life projects like dentist's token, food industry's token, agriculture's token and what not.

Yeah it's like messi himself is 50% of the Barcelona as a club , no wonder bookies give that much to the market.
I still confident that inter milan won't go qualified easily, it's a 50/50 chance for me . Barcelona get draw or win it with 1 goal difference like 1-2 or 2-3 ... or intermilan win it in struggle and some lucky factors like 1-0 and defending at the rest of the game.

Inter milan urgently need this winning and that's could be a boomerang for them.

To play under pressure like that could bring chaos at the back as they focusing on attack, unless they found an early goal. I've seen how conte playing style works since he was in Juventus and spent 2 years at chelsea.

Yeah, it may all work fine for Barcelona. Barca plays entirely different football in the absence of Messi, players take more initiative and midfield try to open defensive line rather than giving ball to Messi outside the box and hope he will take that to penalty area.
As far as I remember, Messi was unable to play 2 champions league games last season, both of those were also against Inter Milan. But players like Dembele, Coutinho and Rafinha took charge and played pretty well. And how can we forget 5-1 against Real Madrid. Players click better together when Messi doesn't play. However, that doesn't mean Barca is stronger without Messi. His presence alone is enough to win games for Barca.

Suarez is still a very good player but he’s not the magician he once was. Naturally he’s on the decline as he comes close to his mid 30’s. I loved him at LFC, he was amazing, wish he never left.

I am Barca supporter and believe me Suarez is almost finished. He scores because he has Messi who creates most of his chances. One against Mallorca was awesome on Saturday but in the same game, he missed a very silly shot too. He has become too slow and when he's unable to control ball or bettered by a defender, he just falls to attract foul. It has really become irritating as a Barca fan to watch him falling for no reason.
